Windows 10 tiles start and Persona management

We develop a Windows 10 business 1511 virtual desktop image in a local area, with the store disabled, without synchronization Azur or Microsoft accounts and OneDrive. All applications and the %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program for all non-persistent VM will be identical.

Initial tests of those VMS reveals that when a user logs on to a virtual computer and logs in the other, their tiles begin to Don't wander is not with them. I read a lot of people are a bit dismayed and implies that Microsoft is trying to kill the roaming profile.

With the help of the Persona and roaming management %LocalAppData%, after a closed session at the next logon are quite a few questions. Often, the start menu does not open or empty.

It turns out that specifying a roaming profile path in the object active directory of users was the cause for the synchronization of partial management of persona. Despite this work with windows 7 and the management of the persona, seems not to work when a profile path is specified in the object of the AD, and perhaps in other GPOS that apply to the VM OR or the user OR windows 10 and persona management.

Maybe we could use a GPO applied to set "Allow only local user profiles" and apply it to the UO of VM of Horizon.

We do not want to be able to specify a path in the object to users when they log on a physical computer and the GPO from VMware is supposed to replace. "Ignore the path of the Active Directory user profile is configured." must be broken or does not work as expected in Windows 10.

If your metro applications fail to start, try the 'dead' in the post powershell following [IE11] and the crash of edge at startup if the client uses the roaming profile (Win10 1511) | Microsoft Connect

    Hi Lawry206,

    You can try the following steps and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Disconnect external devices attached to the computer and restart to check the issue.

    Method 2:

    Since you are unable to start the computer in safe mode, you try to perform a repair to start the Windows recovery environment (WINRE Mode) and check if it helps to solve the problem.

    You need start from your Installion of Windows Vista disc.

    If startup repair does not help, then try a restore of the system of the WINRE Mode and check.

  • My windows 8 not start and there is no administrator account

    My windows will not start and I can't fix with restore point or safe mode because there is no found administrator account

    Hello

    Thanks for posting your query to the Microsoft forum.

    I understand the inconvenience caused to you. I will certainly help you in this matter.

    1. You have the administrator password?
    2. Have you ever had the administrator account on this computer?

    In order to fix your computer, we should have an administrator account through which we can perform the appropriate troubleshooting.

    If you have the administrator password, boot the computer through DVD and enter safe mode with command prompt, this will require the administrator password, enter it.

    Mode safe mode with command prompt

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

    If you are able to access the prompt try to activate the hidden administrator account and create a new administrator account.

    1. At the command prompt, type net user administrator / Active: Yes , then press on ENTER.
    2. Type net user administrator , then press on ENTER. Note: Please replace the tag with your passwords you want to set for the administrator account.
    3. Type exitand press enter.
    4. Restart the computer.

    Now, try to create a new Local Administrator account

    Once done, you can now disable the build-in the administrator account.

    Follow these steps:

    1. click the button Start , and then type cmd in the search box.

    2. in the list of research results, right click on cmd and then click on Run as Administrator.

    3. at the command prompt, type net user administrator / active: no and then press ENTER.

    4. type net user administrator , then press on ENTER.

    Note: restart the computer to make the changes.

    If you do not have the DVD of Windows 8.1, I suggest to download and create a bootable media and perform operations.

  • Windows, clones and persona management saved credentials

    Hi all

    We have an infrastructure of clone of work with Persona management put in place. Everything works very well only our users complain that their windows credentials are not saved to a network share that they use, what is actually the case: once you change the clones, even though you checked to remind the credentials box, your windows password safe is empty and the credentials must be entered again to access the remote share.

    I looked around, I found this KB:

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 2052573

    As I understand it, touring credentials is not supported, and this can be done. Which, I guess, sort of logic.

    However, I came across this post on the forum:

    Finds support in the management of Persona to CryptProtectData

    Where is the original says that "View Persona Manager does support the Windows API data protection.' poster.

    I'm confused here: is it possible to wander the credentials for network shares or not? If so, how this reach you? If not, is it final or is it planned to get this working?

    Thanks for your comments,

    Marc

    For everyone wondering the same thing and do not find an answer, upgrading the client to view the clones to 6.0.1 fixed the problem.

  • Windows will not start and automatic repair does nothing

    Hello
    I am on Windows 8 on my desk of game and encountered problems with the start-up. Whenever I try to start the computer, it does this:
    (1) prepare the auto repair

    (2) diagnose your PC
    (3) auto repair couldn't fix your PC
    Whenever I try to click on anything in the advanced options it says I need to sign as an administrator but no accounts are displayed. He then tells me to restart my PC that starts the whole cycle again.
    Is there a solution to this problem? I really prefer NOT wipe the hard drive clean as I already downloaded more than 200 GB of Steam games in the past few months and only have 35 GB per month to redownload the.

    Hello

    ·         How have you tried to do system restore?

    I recommend you to restore system using a Windows Vista DVD.

    Here's how:

    To open the Options menu system recovery using a system repair disc or a Windows Vista installation disc

    If your system is damaged and cannot access the menu system on your computer Recovery Options, you can access it using the Windows Vista installation disc or a system repair disc previously.

    To use this method, you need to restart (boot) your computer using the disk.
    1 insert the disc.
    2. restart your computer using the power button on the computer.
    3. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.
    If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer.

    4. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    5. If you are using the Windows installation disc, click on repair your computer.
    6. Select the Windows installation you want to repair, and then click Next.
    7. in the System Recovery Options menu, click a tool to open it.

    Normally, you do an upgrade from the inside of the race and activated the operating system.

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC.   • Windows will not start and repair functions do not work
    Hello!
    A few days ago when I turned on my laptop, it said 'unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. «I tried to solve the problem through the installation and repair of computer disk, but the startup repair does not seem to do anything be said "Startup Repair couldn't fix your PC (it ran four times), System Restore cannot find a restore point (sometimes he says that I have to specify which Windows installation to restore the good I don't have one) and refresh your PC says that the» drive is locked. Furthermore, each operation in the repair of your computer takes really long, on one or two hours. It's Windows 7 Ultimate x 64, I'm talking about.
    In addition, I can not in safe mode as button by pressing f8 (or f5) ends with a sound signal and guest starts with x:\sources instead of c:\windows so minimal safeboot / network does not work.
    I also tried to use explorer.exe to copy the most urgent files to a usb flash drive, but it does not display the files in c:.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you and best regards.
    I suspect that you need to perform a destructive factory restore. Here are a few options to recover your files:
    • From your external backup. If you do not have an external backup, then this is a great time to review your backup strategy.
    • By starting the machine Mode of repair of Windows, and then using the console commands to copy your files to a flash drive. Post again if you need help with these commands.
    • By starting the machine with a boot of Ubuntu CD, then drag your folders to a flash drive.
    • By removing the hard drive and plugging it into another PC. Use a SATA cable if it is a drive 3.5 "or a USB enclosure so it's a 2.5 drive".
    The above methods are much more time that executing regular backups on a backup drive GByte 1 costs about $60.
