  What is your ultimate goal in the 'scanning' the document? I try to read between the lines here, so, if it's to send by e-mail, I would recommend that create you a PDF file using one of the many PDF printer drivers (I use PrimoPDF to http://www.primopdf.com/index..aspx.  You should install this program, then it creates a printer driver.  In Word, you make a file, print, and then select this printer.  He then asked a file name.  Place the file in a location where you know the location and then let to print.  Once done, you can then attach the PDF file to an e-mail message.

  Hi lake1998,

  When you save a document format, you are talking about OCR or optical character recognition.  The 3512 Deskjet will allow you to save the files analyzed in the formats listed, but it doesn't have a built in OCR.

  I have a strange question. My boss wants me to create a word document that cannot be copied, but it can come in and change whenever he wants. Basically, what I did I went to restrict editing and checked the updates in shape and modification of the restrictions. This prevents people form edit the document but also to stop people from edit the document if they try to do a "save under". However, users can still copy and paste the document and make changes as see fit them. My boss wants to prevent copying and pasting of the document so that multiple users will not create multiple versions of the same document. I offered to save as a PDF file, but he wants to keep it as a word doc restricted access, so that it is able to make changes if necessary. So, my question is, is anyway to disable copy and paste it in a Word doc for 2010?

  Hi all.  I installed and used a font that I downloaded on the Internet.  Everything is good.  Documents look great, and normally I create PDF files from Word documents.  But, when I send a Word Doc (not PDF) that has my custom font (Ubuntu, it's the police anyone is wondering) is not "coming through" to the recipient.  End result is that the recipient opens the Doc they can't read the text.  I had described me as looking like a cursive, but unreadable font.

  Word does not incorporate fonts. You will need to send it with the document, or save it in PDF format and send that.

  I just bought an iPad because I'll be traveling abroad and will not take my MacBook Pro with me since it is my main computer. I used Word for my teaching documents. I bought an iPad, so I can work on them while traveling. The Apple seller assured me that this would not be a problem. However, I can't figure out how to get my Word Docs on the iCloud MacBook in order to access it from my iPad. I have read several posts on the forum, but I have still not found the answer probably because they are dated. It said, for example, save my Word Docs in the Section "Documents and data" icloud. But I didn't not just on mine. I just did the last software update on my MacBook Pro and just bought my iPad last Friday.

  I would really appreciate help on this. I want to return my iPad in the period of 14 days full refund if it in fact that is impossible, because this is the reason why I bought the iPad.

  Don't know if you're aware, but if you use Word on the MacBook and iPad, you can either save in iCloud or OneDrive. As you use Microsoft Word, you will find easier to use Microsoft OneDrive - but their isn't a huge difference and either will work.

  If you use Microsoft Office for Mac 2016 on the MacBook, you can save on OneDrive by clicking "Online sites" in the file menu in Word to save the window. If you want to save on iCloud you must make sure that the menu Apple > System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud unit is running. It's also a good idea to go in the Finder preferences > sidebar and put a checkmark in front of iCloud Drive in the Favorites section of this window. When you save a document in Word 2016 on your Mac, you can then click iCloud Drive in the side bar of the Finder window and save on iCloud drive.
