  You can change the volume in Control Panel-> sounds-> read-> Speaker tab, then press the properties button-> Choose the level tab-> settings of PC beep at a lower level.

  I have Toshiba Satellite P300-1GQ with Vista Home Premium installed.
  But now I want to format the drive and put a new installation of Windows XP on it. I have my XP CD, I start it s loading the files and when it ends and says windows starts now so I can start to format and then install a new windows it gives me a blue screen saying windows found problems and stopped.

  It says to check the hard drive or a virus and try again. I did a lot of time checking everything, but nothing has changed. My windows locked and I can't get in shape? Question: How can I format them?

  Everyone please help. My CD of Windows XP Home edition works well I checked it if it s not my drive he owes me something on the laptop? Any ideas?

  You are using Windows XP Home SP2 installations CD edition?
  You have loaded the SATA drivers?

  One more thing: before you start the installation of Windows XP Home edition, did you create a Vista recovery media?

  Can anyone help? A couple of times in recent weeks my Satellite 3000 X 11 itself has turned off. However, it then displays a white screen when I turn it on and 3 beeps followed by 3 beeps of x x. The power led & battery lights on and the hard drive flashes once - fan does not work - it happened to someone else? Or can someone suggust cause and remedy? Thank you

  HI Edward,.

  Beep codes are indications that the unit doesn't have his POST processing. The exact cause can only be diagnosed by a qualified Toshiba service agent.

  In regards to your hard drive, will find it this located below your optical drive that must be removed first. Remove the screw (F5) the appliance and slide the optical drive before that. You will then be able to access the hard disk.

  I installed an Express card yesterday and he did all sorts of havoc (IRQ conflicts, hook etc.).

  I went to reboot this morning and he is now just give me 2 beeps and nothing on screen. I watched the phoenix bios beep codes, but it is not listed. Any ideas if I do a reset of the BIOS with a rider?

  BIOS resetting is possible only to an authorized service, but I think that the BIOS is the problem because these beep codes mean that a hardware malfunction has been detected

  What you can do is to remove the battery and the AC adapter for an hour and then reconnect the two. Your laptop boot?

  If not it material s serious malfunction and you must contact a technician from laptop to help.

  MacBook (retina, 12 inch, early 2015) El Capitan 10.11.5 now ongoing enforcement.

  (Note for everyone, it was simple and painless and does not need to reinstall applications.)  I want to reinstall MS OS was too simple)

  (4) several other threads suggested to reset NVRAM and SMC memory, even if they do not seem to be associated with the prob. who - without success here tried either

  Possible explanation.  It is likely that batteries, so fresh, can be irregular in size.   The uncertain connection would therefore tend to lead to a failure to blink and you declare.   Read my thing...
