Then CS3 with ACR 4.6 is (at best) naturally obsolete as ACR 8.6 is necessary.

  • Canon 5 d Mark II, the Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom 2.4

    All,

I know it must have been answered elsewhere, but I have not found what I'm looking for.

I bought a new Canon 5 d Mark II camera that will happen Wednesday.  To the extent the software on my Mac Pro, I have Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium, which includes (obviously) of Photoshop CS3.  I am also running Lightroom 2.4.  I heard to open the 5 d Mark II RAW files, you must have Adobe Camera Raw 5.X, which is not supported by Photoshop CS3.  I also understand that Lightroom 2.4 CAN open the 5 d Mark II RAW files.  First of all, both of my statements are at this point?  If so, I can use Lightroom to open the RAW files, making some setting I would like in Lightroom, then export the modified file (in TIFF, for example) in Photoshop CS3 and go on my way?  Or it won't work?

If the answer is no, what are my options for the software I have with my Canon 5 d Mark II?  Am I, now, TO upgrade to Photoshop CS4?  If so, can I buy CS4 Design Premium update, if my CS3 Design Premium is the version of education?

Thanks for any help on this... I hope to avoid spending more money that I need software just to be able to process images of my new camera.  I'm sure I could always use the supplied Canon software to open the RAW files, but I prefer to do programs in the Adobe family.

Lightroom 2.4 will deal with the EOS 5 d Mark II RAW files.  And Yes, after doing all your editing your RAW files in LR, you can export it to TiFF, PSD or JPEG format and open and work on it in Photoshop CS3.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I disable my licenses for computers, I can't start (photoshop cs3 and creative suite 3)

    Dear Forum,

a trojan virus has forced us to get 2 of our computers. One with Creative Suite 3 and the other with Photoshop CS3.

We forgot to disable the licenses for these software packages.

step 1 to install the software on computers is no problem. Activate us the licenses and restart the computer. After reboot, we have no connection to the internet and a yellow triangle in the task bar symbol. So we uninstall the Adobe and the internet connection is working again.

I think that this problem is caused by the licenses, because we forgot to turn it off before resetting. I hope someone can help us solve this problem!

    Kind regards

You can ask the Adobe support to reset your activations per chat.  You will need the order number to go forward.

  • This tool works in Photoshop CS3 and Windows 7?

I found this script in an old thread and he tries. He would work in CS3?

If I'm sure that I'm the problem I thought that I would check before I keep coming with the same mistakes. More specifically, when I type 'Export Path to Illustrator', I get a pop up box that says "the export command is not available" and a choice to continue or stop. It allows me to save in eps format, but it seems not that it is in fact a vector.

I use this image found in examples of windows photos 'Annie in the Sink.jpg.

as an example, because it is small. If you use this action on images from camera size,

your system can really slow down.

(click on the screenshots below for a clearer view)

    1. launch the Web part of vectorize graphic of the action. (I just left the Gaussian blur

    the default setting)

    2. use a combination to adjust the adjustment threshold and paint layer

on the layer to Dodge and burn to get black areas to cover the part of the image

you want. The black areas are the areas that will be included in the paths and

the white areas are excludible from paths.

    3. paint on the layer Dodge and burn regular brush, not the dodge tool

and dubbing tools. White paint removes areas to include in the paths

and paint with black adds the areas included in the paths. Set the default value

color of foreground and background (black and white) at the bottom of the Toolbox of

by pressing the D key on the keyboard.

    4. you have to stack the layers to Dodge and burn to get the results your after.

    5. start the path have been part of the Image of the action.

Final path and still a bit rough photoshop result and after copying the

path to a new document to RGB color and adding a color fill adjustment layer.

If you have a recent version of illustrator, you can try the function of trace instead of this action.

In the latest versions of illustrator tracing features so much better when this action was written.

Added: it allows to duplicate your image before performing any action then you

have a reference by painting on the dodge and burn layer.

  • You can run Photoshop CS3 and CS5 on the same system?

I've done it before on another system where I had CS2 and CS3 installed and I could run either version, when I wanted.  At the time I have just never bothered to uninstall CS2.

Now on this system, I'm tunning CS3 and I have some plug-ins that I use regularly and that are not compatible with CS5 and I'm not throwing new money for them.  So I wish I could install CS5 and especially use it but when I need to use the plug ins and then just switch to CS3.

I noticed that a lot of programs does not these days on top another version.  So is there a reason that I won't be able to run them both?

Altogether.  All versions of Photoshop can coexist at the same time, even if you can only run one at a time.

It is usual to not install the older version, until you don't know than new not work very well.  If you have the space, never uninstall.  It is convenient to have around to answer questions, here for example.

  • Photoshop CS3 and Nikon D300s = BUYER beware

I recently bought a Nikon D300s and noticed an error message when I try to open RAW files in Photoshop CS3. I checked for an upgrade to the Camera Raw plugin and guess what? The upgrade that includes the D300s is only available for Photoshop CS4.

I called Adobe and they confirm not only that I upgrade Photoshop but because I bought Adobe Creative Suite, I have to upgrade the WHOLE suite and CANNOT just Photoshop upgrade.

I'm not a programmer, but it seems to me that when they update Camera Raw (which they have done several times in CS3) what they are doing is adding support for new cameras. I doubt that there is so much programming made this pluging update not being able to rely on CS3. It is a complete scam.

Guess you missed the part about how to download the FREE DNG Converter and convert your raw file into a DNG format that will open in Photoshop CS3.

  • Photoshop CS3 (and others) does not not after charge

This happens in Photoshop, illustrator and In-Design - I don't know when it started, I just noticed yesterday. These programs have worked on this machine in the past. What happens is - I open Photoshop and it goes through the loading screen and everything and when that's all done the startup screen goes and I find myself with the top menus and items on the visible right (see image below) said if I click anywhere on the title bar does not, and nothing happens. I 2CPUs, and when this happens Photoshop uses 100% of one of the processors. the memory usage is stable at about 28 MB used.

I tried to reinstall, uninstall and then reinstall, removing every piece of Adobe software and reinstalling, restarted, rebooted after doing all the steps mentioned previously, allowed out preferences, and nothing will get it to work.

To my knowledge I have not updated all the drivers because it worked finally.

Acrobat Pro and bridge will load and work very well.

any ideas on what could cause this behavior or how to fix it?

  • Photoshop CS3 (and ID and UCI) stopped working suddenly

This afternoon, I started Photoshop as I do almost every day, and I got an error: "cannot start due to a problem of liscencing. Remove and reinstall.

It was completely unexpected.  But I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall.  However, during installation, it tells me that only Adobe Reader is installed, and could not install main programs of CS3 (photoshop, etc).  No other information.

What is the problem?  I have a valid copy of CS3.

After uninstalling, you must run the script Clean AdobeCS3 clean script.

See also this article from Adobe knowledge about the problem for more information.

  • Are compatible with Photoshop CS3 and CS6? Specifically I will be able to open CS3 files in CS6?

You will be able to open the photos CS3 in CS6. It won't work so well the other way around. There will be some features such as smart objects and vector shapes that might be rasterized if you try and open in CS3.

  • I removed the old versions of Photoshop CS3 and CS4 from my old Imac now Photoshop CS6 says a file is missing for the program to remove and reinstall. I'm looking for the downloadable version, which would be later for CS6, even if I have the drive, it wou

I need advice like serching the Adobe site, I can't find the link

What you download will most likely what you have on your DVD.  CS 6 version 13.0.   This is the buggiest of Photoshop version. So when you install CS6 on top of itself the first thing to do after installation is menu CS6 to use help > updates.  This should update CS 6 Version 13.0 version 13.0.1.3 on windows or 13.0.6 on Mac and ACR must be updated to version 9.1 of the cab. When you install CS6 on top of the old installation of all your actions presets and plug-ins should still be there and CS6 must be activated.
