  I had the same problem. I have went in the Control Panel, chose printers and deleted the "HP 8500 Series Fax"and now it prints correctly. I am running Vista 64 bit. Good luck.

  I just bought the version of Adobe CS4 Design Standard education and had no problem to install everything but Photoshop CS4 (what do I really need)!  It does not appear on the installation menu when I run startup, but it seems to be on the installation DVD in a couple of the .dmg packages. I currently have photshop elements 6 for Mac installed, and I already had installed Photoshop CS4 ext trial with LightRoom 2, but they removed from my system once the trial is over. Why is not install Photoshop CS4 and how can I solve this problem? I have to reinstall trial software and then try and activate serial number? The installation DVD drive is bad?

  I have had a look through the forums here do not seem to have all the same questions.  I have three drives in the package, 1-Applications, content-2 and 3-learning.

  I can see the files for Photoshop .dmg disk 1-Applications, but do not know if I develop they successfully install Photoshop.  I managed to install InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat 9 with the parts with no problem and still about 100 GB of free space on the disk.

  I'm installing on my MacBook Pro, with 250 GB HD and 4 GB of RAM with 512 MB video card.  I previously ran the trial version on the machine with no problems, so I'm assuming that there is no problem with the minimum requirements to run the software.  The only problem I think that could touch it is that I don't have Safari 4 on my machine...

• I have problems with Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Windows 7 32-bit Professiol.

  When I open an image of the bridge, the photoshop Panel is locked on one side of the screen.  The onle way I can get out of it is CTRL, alt, delete.  The problem persists.  I tried to uninstall Adobe and reinstall with no luck.  I called Adobe and they think that there is a problem with the security system in Windows.  Help, please.

  This could be attributed to several factors such as conflicts between device drivers, applications, settings of operating system, hardware, and corrupt elements in specific files.

  Basic troubleshooting
  
  1. make sure that the computer meets the minimum requirements for Photoshop.
  2. install all Windows updates. .
  3 re-create the Photoshop preferences file.

  Re-create the Photoshop preferences file to eliminate problems that may cause a damaged Preferences file.

  To re-create the Photoshop preferences files:

  1. quit Photoshop.
  2. rename the \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings\Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp directory Users\ [username] Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.old.
  3 launch Photoshop. Photoshop creates a new Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file.
  If the problem persists, the Photoshop preferences files aren't the cause. To restore custom settings, quit Photoshop, and then delete the new Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file and restore the original name of the previous Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp file.

  Laurence, CS 4 and elements are now end of life, we have limited resources for them. They have never been tested in 10 to win, that's why you may find some compatibility issues.

  I have problems with Photoshop CS4 and the selection of layers.

  For example, when working with an image with multiple layers, suppose I have 3 layers and the middle layer has a line drawing. The first layer's color. Suppose I want to get through the lines below. I first select the tool move, then I select the layer containing the lines in the "area of selection of layers", then I switch my stylus to paint and if I touch anything other than the line in the picture that I'm working on (for example some traces of paint), the layer containing the traces of paint is automatically selected in the 'selection box of layers' and what is inappropriate.

  
  In other words, when the move tool is used, I select the layer by touching the image rather that by selecting the layer in the layer selection box. Very frustrating. In this case if I am using the mouse or stylus.
  In addition, if I do a group and you put several layers, I can't move the group. If I put the stylus on the work surface, the group opens and inside layer is selected. Again, this happens if I use the mouse or stylus.

  I'm running a Dell Studio XPS 8000 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, have 8g of ram and using a Cintiq 21UX.

  I went into the Panel control/Pen and Touch and 'Movies' is disabled.

  I went into Photoshop and deselected preferences "Select panoramic Flick".

  I went in the utility preferably the Wacom tablet and deleted all my preferences, uninstalled the driver for Wacom Cintiq and reinstalled the latest driver. No change.

  Can anyone help with this? It's driving me crazy. I called Wacom and the support guy said he thought it was something that needed to be turned off in Windows as Microsoft has a setting so that select you automatically the nearest window to the top of the screen as you watch.

  Yes I agree, this can be real boring, but there is a simple solution.

  In your taskbar, uncheck the automatic selection.
