Photoshop CS6 Clone Stamp setting

I think that I inadvertently changed a setting.  It used to be that when I would use the clone stamp, I hold the Alt key and click a location, and then everywhere I moved the cursor/brush to find a place to click, it would show in real time which would look like the clone until I actually clicked. It was extremely useful.  Today When I Alt-click on the area of model, the cursor/brush shows white until I click somewhere so I see the result... less convenient...

... ok, what would I do?

Thank you

  • Photoshop cs3 Clone Stamp - clipping option tool?

In CS4, there is an option to "clip", the Clone Stamp so that it shows an overlay of your cloned area "cut to" the size of the brush. (If you uncheck the "cut" option he superimposed the entire image and does not limit the overlay of your brush area)

This feature is available in cs3? On a friends computer, we found the option 'See the overlay' that shows all of the overlay image, but there is no obviouse to the clipped option.

If it does not exist, where is it?

    Thank you

CS3 has the clone source overlay, as you have found it, but doesn't have the Cup

option, which was new in cs4.

For most people who start using the clone source overlay, it is really confusing

If your used to previous versions of photoshop, so that was probably a complaint in

CS3 and adobe added the option cut to make it easier to use. You can try to check

auto hide box, so that when you actually use the Clone Stamp tool, you will not see the

    overlay.

  • Option-click on the Photoshop CS5 Clone Stamp tool just stopped working why?

I am using clone stamp tool option and click on Photoshop CS5 on my Mac 10.6.5 and it stopped working suddenly on Monday.  He had just used Sunday.  So, I tried to isolate the problem.

    1. at the Apple store and my work as a keyboard and mouse is well spent on their internal systems running Photosochop CS5.  Problem still exists on the system at home.

2 adobe photoshop suggested I go back to Mac 10.6.3.  I did and the problem still exists.

3 reset all settings predefined in CS5.  Problem still exists.

    4. has spent several hours with Adobe Photoshop tech on phone - he could not operate it remotely either.  RELOADED Photoshop from scratch.  Problem still exists.

    Question:

This could be a hardware problem?  Graphics card problem?

Or is it a software outside of CS5 and Mac OS problem?

  • In Photoshop's Clone Stamp tool applies the theory of matrices in its functions?

IM currently doing a math project that has various applications of the theory of matrices and Im just curious to know if the Clone Stamp tool uses this concept to replicate pixles

So you're saying "should I use math matrix? -Since there is nothing called "theory of matrices" I know...

The clone copy stamp data of pixels from one place to another, or even between the images.

You might consider images for matrices (width * height * channels), but we don't usually operations mathematics matrix on them.

The clone stamp can rotate or flip the image data source - which uses the matrix mathematics to calculate the rotation or reverse.

But you'll find more math matrix in something as filter-> other-> custom, which is pretty simple convolution/correlation function using matrices (correlation/convolving one matrix with one another).

And there are many places where the matrices are used for solutions of the method of least squares (such as MergeToHDR).

Mathematical matrix can be used when color conversions, especially between the RGB color spaces.

  • In CS6 Clone Stamp tool will not work with Tiff files

All of a sudden the Clone Stamp tool does not work when you work on a tif file. Yes, I get the circle with + sign when I press the ALT key, but tool not clones.

    Hi Trevor!

I discovered that it affects all file extensions.  Files were created after adjustments in Bridge. Layer is not locked. The opacity is 46. Now that I have reviewed your response, I was watching a FAQ on the same thing. Honestly, I didn't know you can reset tools.

I found out how to reset the CSTool and voila! Now, works great.

    Thanks for the tips...

UM, you buy the stock photo / work? Seriously - if it's just for a model / model design, that neither you nor your customers will / should mind the watermarks and in accordance with the regulations of most of these sites, it must be left in place and a mention of the original in the copyright source. Everything else is just an attempt badly designed to circumvent their rules and regulations...

  • Photoshop CS6 clone tool does not

My son knocked on my keyboard while I was in the middle of the photo using the clone tool Editor. The tool now looks as if it does not work when I'm sampling from one area but when I go to change the designated area, it is not do anything. And there is a glimmer of hope in the white circle. Help please!

I would try to reset the Clone Stamp tool in right click on the clone stamp icon in the tool options bar and choose Reset tool

and also check the options in the clone source Panel. (Window > Clone Source)

  • Stupid Photoshop. Clone tool does not. That means "could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (option - click to set a point source)" means?

Please help and bear with me, I can not know what you are talking about. Total newb

    Nice day!

The Clone Stamp tool is intended to be used to paint the parts of an image on one image (the same or another).

To do this, a sampling point must be set for Photoshop 'know' what piece to be used and which is done with the Clone tool from the selected buffer, alt-click on the space provided.

  • Clone Stamp selection failure in CS6

I try to use the Clone Stamp but selection fails with this error message:

Could not use the clone stamp because the area to clone has not been defined (Alt-click to set the source point).

When I press Alt, I see the bubble feature selection. But, subsequently, a right-click of the mouse reveals an open circle and the error message.

I note that the key works for the menu selections (for example, Alt-File) and other actions.

I closed PS and reopened. Reset the tool clone stamp, closed and reopened, etc., nothing helped.

I'm glad you have found an acceptable workaround.

I'd stick probably with the VM instead of wine, although it is possible to run photoshop cs6 in the wine, it's more work that just install the program unfortunately.

There is an article on the website of wine the performance of photoshop in wine if you are interested:

  • Help for re - set source to the Clone Stamp

I have problems with the brush of stamp clone selecting pixels offset from the source that I select places. I have a Mac and the use of the options/Alt click to select a section of the image, but when I come to paint it is in every sense.
I went in the source Panel and tried everything to realign the source and brush but can't seem to manage it. The reset does not seem to make a difference. I do pixel so still a bit of beautiful stuff you make a difference.

    Can anyone help?

Video driver go wacky, maybe? Have you tried to disable the GPU acceleration to see if that helps? (Photoshop > Preferences > performance in the menu bar.) Try other things suggested here as well if this does not work:

  • Photoshop cs3 problem of opacity for clone stamp

    Hello

Somehow the opacity of the clone stamp has increased suddenly. Now it is almost impossible to cover a dust particle. I need to crush a 100 times to get rid of him. I don't see how to change this back. If anyone can help?

    Thank you

    SoC

I guess that opacity is set to 100% at the top of the main window of Photoshop?

Check all these parameters up there, even if you have a fuzzy brush cutting as well.

  • Area sample for the CC Photoshop clone stamp is broken

    Hello

Lately, I can't use the Clone Stamp tool successfully because the "sample" drop-down box does not upward unless I have quit the application and then restart it. Here is an example of what I can do... any ideas? 10, GTX 970 4 GB, i7 Windows

    Hello

Try to reset the tool to 'right click' on the icon of the tool on the top left corner

If this does not work, try to reset the preference settings.

    CTRL + K, then

If it still does not, I think that the application ran out of some configuration files. If you need to reinstall Photoshop from Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Manager

    Hope you find good,
