Photoshop elements 14 marked unsafe by Norton Internet Security download

Hello

I recorded a new copy of Adobe Photoshop elements 14 today and went through the process of downloading, but Norton Internet Security, think that it is dangerous because there is no history of security and a google search indicates that not described as malware site it came behaves roughly the same way...

The name of the file is Download_Adobe_Premiere_Elements_14_ .exe (Windows)

It seems to come from a Web site that has no obvious relation to Adobe, i.e. protexis.net

Maybe your website has been hacked or my computer has been hacked, but I'm on day of Norton and were not using the types of site Web where one would expect to questionable behaviors.

You would inquire, please.

Kind regards

Robert Jones

Thanks for your help that eventally, I discovered that I had bought Adobe Premiere Elements instead of Photoshop Elements by mistake.

  • Norton Internet Security should be included in the list of startup programs?

I use Vista Home premium 32-bit with SP2 for Vista
    Norton Internet Security 2010 v 17.8.0.5

    When I go to:
Run > msconfig > Start Up Programs

I don't see anything there about Norton or Symantec.
I see it running in the list of services, but NOT in the list of the startup programs
I have Norton Internet Security has the value 'early charge', so it shouldn't be in the list of startup programs?

I swear I saw him in programs before starting.

Must show in the start up programs?

The entries you see in the list of services are service installed to work with the Internet Services of Norton. They are not in the program.

  • Problems with the closure, by opening the Task Manager and Norton Internet Security. Help, please!

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 with Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit). Until Monday, there is no problem whatsoever with my computer at all. I have not installed or uninstalled, whatever it be, changed settings, done anything differently with my computer. Suddenly it now "hangs" on the screen of closing down. I'll try to reboot or stop using the menu start, and it will stay on this screen indefinitely. Now, I have to manually turn off the computer. I spent on the Support page and studied the Performance issues, and all I get is I have Visual settings that interfere with closing... except my Visual settings have not changed in any way. In addition, I can not properly update my computer or do a system restore because the computer will shut down.

In addition, the Task Manager will appear no more. I'll press ctrl alt del and nothing appears, just the green icon in the corner of the screen. If I try to right click, no response.

I tried to do a full system scan in Norton Internet Security but she "leaves" scanning. It will scan correctly when I'm in safe mode, but it comes with no virus, trojan or other problem.

So in essence, I tried everything I can think of to fix my computer nothing works. It was working perfectly before this week. I have no idea where to go. Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,

    G

    Hello

    Method 1.
First check to see if there are external devices attached to the computer, if so remove and check.

    Method 2.
    Step A.

Start your computer in safe mode and check if it starts.

    Step B.
If it starts on the desktop in safe mode and then set your computer to the clean boot and check if it starts successfully. If it starts successfully can be a third-party application or service is causing the problem. We can use the approach 50 / 50 to narrow down the root cause of the problem.

See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 3.
I recommend to run the restore of the system in safe mode and check if it works very well.
    Reference:
    System Restore: frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions
Note: If you use system restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can not undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point if any.

  • Norton Internet Security can't scan SSL email use. How can I ensure that I don't get a malware or a virus by opening an email in Thunderbird?

Norton Internet Security can't scan SSL email use. How can I ensure that I don't get a malware or a virus by opening an email in Thunderbird? I read that you don't have to click on a link to get malware, but that some e-mail may trigger the malware just by opening and reading. Any suggestions to prevent the outbreak of malware emails? AOL Desktop software has its own built-in email scanner, but I am trying to get away with their software and to rely only on tuberculosis.

    Thank you

There are many aspects to this question.

First of all, by using SSL or TLS to send and receive emails is important because it prevents others from sniffing your login email. Especially if you use a device over wi - fi or on untrusted networks, it is essential, because if others get your email IDs, bad things can happen.

Of course, by using SSL or TLS with your mail server also protects the content of your email being captured by others, so it's good also.

Secondly, you are right that there may be threats to security in E-mail other than the attachments, even if attachments are usually the most dangerous. Your antivirus must protect you against bad attachments as to open them, they must be written to disk in a temporary folder, and your AV software jumps into action whenever a new file is added to the disk. You can also hedge your bets by using a two step approach: first save the attachment to disk and only after she survives the real-time AV scanning and then run it in the appropriate application.

Sometimes the content in the body of the message can trigger a vulnerability in your software e-mail or a plugin. As these known vulnerabilities, Mozilla is updating its software, but there always seems to be new problems discovered and it will never be perfect security. I don't know how useful email Scanner is for this problem.

  • Is it possible to recover hundreds of mails that have disappeared from my Inbox after it has been quarantined today by Norton Internet Security?

I received an infected email this morning which resulted in Norton Internet Security quarantine inbox. All received emails are gone now from the Inbox (with the exception of two who apparently arrived just before the infected message).
    (1) is it possible to recover the E-mails lost without re-infection of the Inbox?
    (2) how can I avoid this happening again? Until today, the infected emails have simply removed by Norton Internet Security on arrival without all the previous messages being lost in the Inbox.
I would be very grateful for help.

you force Nortons of UN-setting in the file quarantine.
Then, you create an exception for Norton analyzes the folders that contain your Thunderbird profile, so it is not repeated.

Be aware that the infection is not as severe as the cure. Maybe you can find someone to Semantec to explain how an email in Thunderbird can infect anything unless you physically open an infected attachment that Norton should catch when it is written in the temp folder before opening.

I lost a lot of time talking to corporate cretins to Semantec and they charge just "this is another line of defense" when asked for more details. Why, because they can simply justify not e-mail Scanner in any other terms. Enjoy it servers little or not by the challenges of usability and convenience.

This "mail" was written on your drive hard until Semantec has managed to make a mess of things. It's a little late don't you think saying "you have an infection. Do they expect also for stuff in your browser to be written on the disc? You bet they do. Where is the preventive surveillance to data transmissions that prevents infection before it is written on your drive?

  • My Norton toolbar became deleted somehow. I need it for my Norton Internet security function Auto Fill will work. How can I get that back in the menu bar?

My Firefox browser page to have a Norton Safe Search Bar within the toolbar area. He must be active on this subject otherwise the function AutoComplete passwords for sites Web I visit - who have need of my username AND password - is not populated automatically by the software Norton Internet Security 2011 that I have on my computer.
My Question: HOW to make this search bar of Norton on my Firefox browser Page?

I use Norton 360 institutions and would allow the two Add-ons of Norton (see below) when I upgraded to Firefox 8.0:

    • Norton Toolbar 2011.7.3.6; and
    • Symantec IPS 3.2.

In your case, since you have used before, add-ons can still be installed, you should just allow them, as if I had to do. 8.0 Firefox automatically disables modules.

To see if the modules above are still installed, you can:

    • go to \Firefox\Add-ons;
    • Click Extensions;

.. .and you should find them there. If this isn't the case, you need to install. You can use the links that Daniel and the-edmeister provided above.

The Norton Internet Security software interference of the upgrade process w at El Capitan? 10.8.5 running in an iMac 2011 class w 16 GB of memory and, in view of the comments, am paranoid re: upgrade and anything that could it confuses.

Mac do not need of any kind, including Norton anti-virus programs.  There is no virus for OS X currently, so anti-virus programs are not fundamentally necessary at this time.  Completely uninstall instructions for the developer.  Regarding the upgrade to El Capitan in general, make sure that you have a full backup of your system or with Time Machine or something like CarbonCopyCloner.  If you want, you could also partition your hard drive and install El Capitan top to 'test drive' so to speak, to see if you really like it.

It also goes without saying that you must ensure that all your applications are updated to work with El Capitan.

I studied a little more on Norton and Vista compatibility issues and the Symantec Norton Internet Security is certainly compatible with Vista!
