Placed Illustrator quality PDF issue

If I use Illustrator to put the file IN an Illustrator document, is any pdf file 100% losseless file? (place a file HAVE in a car of document have important file HAVE original in PDF format).

Reason, I ask:

I have a document to HAVE I'm trying multiple files IN.  I put most of the files in the document by copy / paste, but some of my files don't look good once I scale down using this method (film plastic affect scale well).  I found that by placing the file with the effect of the plastic wrap, effect is changing down to the research, as it did to the largest size.  While the imported pdf file looks the same file HAVE original in my eyes, I wanted to make sure I wasn't losing any quality using this method.

Thank you

How downward revision you don't lose quality.

The difference is:

When the work of copy and paste, you will work with vector objects and the pixelation effect is applied then.

When you place a PDF file, the work actually is pixelated and you adapt the work of raster. This is why it looks the same.

If you want to look the same after scaling of artwork with the effect, you will need to adjust the effect settings as well.

  • Beware placing Illustrator EPS Pantone in CMYK Document, InDesign!

    I designed two projects that share the same graph, one in Illustrator CS4 and the other in InDesign CS3. I created the chart in Illustrator and it uses Pantone colors; I saved this chart in an EPS file and place in the InDesign file. When I created a PDF file for the production of each application, the color difference was significant - the PDF of the Illustrator was falling for the color, but the InDesign PDF was distant. Too late for you will notice that, as jobs were printed and only then the variance is noticeable.

    I did some troubleshooting and testing, here are my results.

    › Placed Pantone EPS in ID, PDF printed, gave rise to important color change.

    › Place version AI Pantone of graphic design in ID, creates PDFS, perfect results.

    › The converted EPS Pantone to CMYK in placed Illustrator EPS in ID, creates PDF, perfect results.

    › Registered Pantone graphic in Illustrator PDF, placed in the ID, get the best results.

    Windows XP SP3, Illustrator CS3, InDesign CS4, both applications have same color settings (US SWOP Coated 2).

    Now, I have to explain my results to the client. That will be a humbling experience.

    Can someone tell me if I'm missing something with the economy of the EPS / investment, what is the nature of the Pantone EPS files? Clearly InDesign cannot successfully "convert all tasks to deal with" during the creation of the PDF file.

    Harv

    Just avoid the SPE and to do with it. There is no reason to use a lot of reasons not to do so.

    The E means wrapped. He isn't getting hit during the entire process, and that's why colors converted.

    It's a relic of a bygone era.

  • Create a custom stamp of a JPEG image to be placed in a PDF document

    Hello

    I'm new to photo-shop and would be delighted if someone could help out me and maybe point me in the right direction.

    I have a custom stamp of a scanned image of one that I use at work. It is just a base image. Red writing on a white (obviously) background. My problem is that I want to delete all the whites in the image and to make these parts of the picture transparent so when he he placed on the PDF it does not hide information (electrical schematic drawings requiring a stamp AS-BUILT). The same as if you have been stamping the paper physically.

    I tried to download my scanned image stamp in Acrobat and just the opacity setting, but it also loses a lot of color. Bright (blood) Red fades to pink and our customer will not accept this. We are trying to expedite our process with does not eliminate physically + 250 000 documents.

    I'm sure it's a fairly simple process, but I am lack of time to research the required methods. Any help in this instance would be greatly appreciated.

    Jpg image 1 open)

    (2) in the layers panel, click the padlock on the layer to convert a background into a normal layer Layer

    (3) select the Quick Selection tool

    4) slide through the white area (repeat as many times as you need to have all of the selected white)

    5) press shift-ctrl-I on windows or cmd-shift-I on Mac to invert the selection

    (6) in the menu, choose layer > layer mask > reveal selection

    At this point, white must now be transparent. If you want to repair, click the new thumbnail of the mask in the layer and use the pixel normal tools as the adjustment brush, gradient, reverse, filters, etc.. When finished, click on the thumbnail of the image.

    The beauty of a mask is it is the destroyer and can be changed any time in the future, as long as save you it in a format that supports layers and transparency.

    If at this point save in jpg format is out as it supports not either. TIFF, psd, png are good candidates. Keep in mind that png does not support layers and is of type RGB only.

  • Saving adobe illustrator to PDF changes appearance of black.

    I tried to save a poster that I do for centuries in Illustrator to PDF on my PC. I have my preferences on the Illustrator as a CMYK plate and the appearance of Black's 'Rich Black' and it looks like on illustrator but the minute I save it to PDF and open it, the black appears gray. At this point, I'm desperate because my deadline is tomorrow. I don't know why this does not work, because I have not had this problem before with Adobe. It is a particular problem because my border black (appearing gray) is in conflict with the rich black of a jpeg image that I want to merge with the border. I do not understand the question, after trying several different parameters.

    Appearance of Black has no effect on the creation of PDF files.

    Use a black CMYK mix that corresponds to your JPEG

    But do not too 'rich', to avoid problems in the press.

  • Quality text on export from Illustrator to PDF

    That's never happened to me, and I am puzzled!

    I recently did a complete reinstallation of all CC products.  I'm trying to export some very simple lines (plans), to text using a font that I used a million times before.  The text looks very much in Illustrator, but once I export to PDF, it looks a little pixelated and not clear.  I have indicated my text, expanded my text, pixelated my text - I tried everything!

    The only thing I can think is that the original plans were given to me by an architect in PDF format, which I believe were made in AutoCad - I simply open them in Illustrator, then copied and pasted the management plans and replaced the original text with my text - could this my questions?  My Document pixelation effect settings are where they should be - my color profiles jive all with each other.  I'm puzzled. Help, please!

  • Illustrator javascript save them to PDF - issue defining the values listed as a variable

    Hello

    I'm trying to figure out how I can use a variable as the target for a save as PDF option in Illustrator javascript. the work of fine variables where there is no value listed for the property that is opts.generateThumbnails but I can understand how to run opts.compatibility or other properties with the values using a variable as the definition listed.

    Example code snippet below will always give an error "The enumerated value should" during the opts.colorCompression option even if the string is correct.

    If I define chose him as opts.colCompression = compressionQuality.AUTOMATICJPEGHIGH then everythings works

    Does anyone know how I can set the compressionQuality.AUTOMATICJPEGHIGH as a variable will work

    TKS

    Code snippet

    OPTS = new PDFSaveOptions();

    OPTS.Compatibility = PDFCompatibility.ACROBAT5;

    opts.generateThumbnails = thumbnailValue;

    opts.preserveEditability = editingValue

    OPTS. Optimization = optimizationValue;

    opts.colorCompression = colCompressionDefault;

    default value is defined at the beginning of the script like: -.

    var colCompressionDefault = "compressionQuality.AUTOMATICJPEGMAXIMUM";

    Alert ("Options of Compression of color =" + opts.colorCompression);

    for (x = 0; x < doc.artboards.length; x ++)

    {

    doc.artboards.setActiveArtboardIndex (x);

    var artboardName = doc.artboards [x] .name;

    If ((artboardName.match (/ ^ imprimé / i)))

    {

    opts.artboardRange = x + 1;

    expFile = file (destFolder + "/" + "stringname" + "-" + doc.artboards [x] .name + ".pdf");

    doc.saveAs (expFile, opts);      It is the privilege which fails

    }

    }

    Close the open document

    sourceDoc.close (SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);

    If you have information on how I should set...

    I do it, I showed you how, in my previous post, Javascript is case-sensitive,

    It does not exist

    compressionQuality.AUTOMATICJPEGMAXIMUM

    This is done

    CompressionQuality.AUTOMATICJPEG2000MAXIMUM

  • Please help, I have a vector file in Illustrator, with a raster (jpg) inside image.  How to save it as a small, web quality pdf, still preserve the quality of the frame of the image?

    Sorry, this is probably an easy question, but I'm a noob!

    Tomy,

    Assuming the only web or similar use, you can save a copy (or save money, but it can give some danger of ruining your IA document) PDF as follows:

    (1) use the smallest file size under general setting (this will give you RGB);

    (2) set the image raster wished under Compression resolution (you can also use do not downsample).

    Compression (lack of) is crucial for the file size, of course.

  • Illustrator CS4 - Performance issues

    I'm about to reinstall AICS2 again. It seems that CS4 has the same performance as CS3 had issues when I create a complex illustration. I have 12 GB of memory on my Quad G5 with OS 10.4.11. I attributed to 200 GB on a separate disk from Scratch. It is almost impossible to use once my file size reaches a certain point.

    Does anyone know how to speed things up? I was wondering if I start deleting plug-ins?

    Linda,

    Did you do a save as and more writing the file? Given that I went to PDF it has the bad habit of PDF to keep the history in a separate part of the file and is not clear, until you do save as. If you have placed and replaced a lot of images, and save the file (Cmd-S) several times with different images, copies of previews are saved in this story. A few times I can get the files to drop half as much as the size of the file by Save as.

  • Bad placed JPG quality

    Before say you it, yes the display performance is set high quality

    I have a few jpg files which are trucks of display of Web pages, I place in ID and then resize smaller according to their environment. Resizing absolutely ruins the quality of the images, text is especially damaged as if there were no anti aliasing current.

    If I were in PS and I took the same image and then resize the image and the text all look crisp and large. Resizing a picture jpg in ID seems to destroy the quality.

    Export the file ID that quality and no compression and the press images seem still very badly, text created in ID seems perfect.

    What have I done wrong?

    Screenshots are always poor display in PDF files, unless they are on the scale of 100%. It is the nature of the beast. I did a lot of technical documents for software over the years and rarely saw their bad in the press.

    Dropbox - screenshot.zip

    The ID file and the exported PDF are the same name. The PDF file imported from the upper part of the page is the placed image. It prints well here.

    John,

    You can try the following list, or it can be a creative support Cloud (cloud creative all the customer service issues).

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service-CCM.html

    The following is a general list of things you can try when the question is not in a specific file (you tried/made some of them already). 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can do that up to 3 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    Even worse, you can:

    (6) uninstall, run the vacuum cleaner tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and then reinstall.

  • Movement of placed Illustrator object when opening file

    Hello

    I came across a weird problem! I have built and saved as illustrator file, something that has some kind of knockout (transparency). When I placed this item in another illustrator file, all right, and I save this new file. When I reopen it the new file, I noticed that illustrator has moved the object placed very slightly. I looked at other objects in this new file and placed files and illustrator doesn't seem to affect those.

    Whenever I re - save the file, illustrator adds the same position to the current position objects. If I just open the file without saving the changes, the position remains as is. The SHIFT is added by the Illustrator when I save the file!

    Does anyone have an idea what can cause this problem and how to prevent it? (I think it might have to do with the knockouts, but I can't understand it).

    It's CS4. Thank you.

    PS: Another weird thing is that when I tried to register the object-with-knockout as illustrator EPS, the EPS abandoned transparency file file.

    Hi sPretzel,.

    I tried with AI CS4 and was able to reproduce the problem with the files you provided and even a scracth with a place/related PNG file. This issue seems to happen more often with site-related files. It seems that it was a bug there'S CS4.

    I also tried the same steps with AI CC and there is no problem to the observed. You can also try it on your end... AI CC can be downlaoded from www.creative.adobe.com.

    Please let me know if you need further assistance in this regard.

    Kind regards

  • Display PDF issues (I think)

    Don't know if this is an InDesign or an Acrobat problem has so first of all, everyone had this experience? I need a customer the mind at rest. I use creative cloud. Works of art produced in InDesign, I sent a finished PDF file, press-spec to the customer. They came in saying that there are many problems of alignment between the blocks to image etc. Examining closely said PDF file - and the original InDesign work - I find no problem at all. An example is shown here. Someone at - it ideas. I don't know what version of Acrobat they use, nor know what parameters they use, but even if I presented it to them, they still need convincing. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    PDF-issues.jpg

    It may be an InDesign an Acrobat issue or a question of Acrobat Reader (different Acrobat application). I would recommend that you start by establishing WITH ROCCIAMELONE used application. This can be difficult because a lot of people think that because Acrobat or Reader is installed, it is used. But many apps view PDF using technology not Adobe with its own problems. So establish if a browser is in use, email or no Adobe viewer application. If it isn't CERTAINLY an Adobe Viewer, find the exact version, then you can install and test with that one.

    If the screen shot have sent you has the full screen, it may be possible to find out what app is used.

  • Bad display quality PDF - export to AutoCAD

    My goal is to effectively publish my drawings of the multi of AutoCAD Map to a single PDF file for e-mailing to my clients who do not have AutoCAD and want to open a PDF file on their device of choice.

    The file should look like it will print seen on the screen of the client with any what Viewer PDF (web or desktop) and it must have a sufficient resolution for printing on paper 11 x 17, without loss of quality.

    The problem I have is with my Appendix at the end of my output document pages.

    The appendix is made from the material data sheets (files to PDF in AutoCAD) and framed by my title block, and some PDF files appear badly on the screen. (Some of them display wrong but fine print, but is not a acceptable deliverable to my customer).

    Seems a perfectly good Source PDF for the last page of the manufacturer: http://Unirac.com/wp-content/uploads/BSK-PDF-Manager/6_SM-2703-CERTIFICATION_6.PDF

    If you zoom in you can see, it is a raster image, but there must be something not-so-good happening results to look so bad when the source is perfectly readable.

    Drawing attention to the last page where the problem lies:

    Here is a screenshot of the last page of this file read through the PDF of Google Drive Viewer: http://screencast.com/t/VeMOFeNNYjB

    This file was printed in the format PDF by using the command post of AutoCAD LT 2015 on my mac with the latest OS: El Capitan 10.11.4

    https://files.Acrobat.com/a/preview/9cd47e59-ded0-470A-ADAC-6aed8cc10338

    This file was printed in the format PDF by using the command post from 2014 AutoCAD on my PC for Windows 10

    https://files.Acrobat.com/a/preview/c2ad141b-E1BC-4C18-A52A-fbe09537df38

    This file is 1/5th the size of that produced by my mac but still as bad the last page displays.

    To summarize:

    Question 1) 5 x greater PDF export from the Mac version of AutoCAD

    Question 2) terribly screen display of some PDF files when PDF raster sources are set in the AutoCAD file.

    I won't pretend to know if this is a bug with AutoDesk product or Adobe, so I reported the problem to the two companies.

    Adobe: Let me know if there is anything more I can give you to help you determine and solve this problem.

    I have downloaded and open the files that you pointed to.

    Observations.

    (1) none of the questions here are associated with Adobe products. With any component Acrobat PDF files were not created.

    (2) the file created from AutoCAD on Mac OS is entirely to 600 dpi color raster Imaging by using ZIP compression, on the other hand, the file created from AutoCAD under Windows uses text and vector where possible with compressed lossy JPEG raster images. This explains the huge difference in size (and ironically quality - the smaller file is better)!

    (3) the pages of http://unirac.com/wp-content/uploads/bsk-pdf-manager/6_SM-2703-CERTIFICATION_6.pdf are in fact images JPEG2000 compressed at 150 dpi with no text and no vector. Even if Adobe desktop and mobile software PDF has no problem with raster JPEG2000 images, various third-party viewers are not so robust. The artifacts you see via http://screencast.com/t/VeMOFeNNYjB are likely due to a weak implementation of JPEG2000. JPEG high quality or compression ZIP (Flate) would have eliminated this particular problem!
