Platform detection

Hello
Is it possible to detect which runs under Mac OS, a projector? 'the platform' returns "PowerPC Macintosh" or "Windows, 32 '', but I need to determine if the user is running, its OSX or classic.»

Thanks for your help
Jason

Don't worry, I solved it by using buddy API

On a MAC baVersion ("os") returns "Mac10" or "Mac9.

Thank you
Jason

  • Simple PLATFORM detect script?

I hope there is a simple solution for that - I operational requirement before Monday.

I built two versions of a simple site: one stupid version for cel phones/blackberrys, etc., a sensitive version for regular ol ' Mac and PC. The version of cel is the default page. One of the computers is in a subfolder.

Rather than enter a complex script that will endeavour to take account of all types of pocket which could hit the site, it seems it should be easy to detect for Mac & PC with javascript simply and deliver them accordingly in the subfolder. Handhelds should ignore just javascript and stay where they are... right?

I'm not a javascript person, though - so if anyone has a simple script that does this, I would be very grateful.

Also, is my hypothesis on the handhelds simply ignoring javascript fix, or will they choke on it and does not make the page?

    Thank you very much!

    A few responses:

    http://www.hand-interactive.com/resources/detect-mobile-JavaScript.htm

Includes a file to include downloadable javascrript. Then, just make a call to DetectMobileLonger() which returns a Boolean value. If it is false, redirect.

    Works fine now.

  • Problem detection network with Network Magic/Pure platform Service quirks and WUSB54GC

    SYSTEM & HARDWARE INFO:

    Wireless adapter: USB54GC v3
Router: Netgear WNR834B (with latest firmware)
Router config: Auto Channel, up to 130mbps mode, radio enabled, enabled SSID broadcast
    Router Config2: Frag Ahmed - 2346, beat the CTS/RTS - 234, long preamble, MTU - 1500

Operating system: Windows XP Pro SP3 (latest updates as of 17/01/2010)
Drivers: Latest from Linksys site (v4.9.90 setup.exe download)
Programs of security software: Comodo & Panda Cloud Antivirus Firewall
Configs of security software: uninstalled, installed or disabled, and installed/enabled

    DETAILS OF THE PROBLEMS:

No wireless network is detected on the computer with the installed adapter WUSB54GC. Cell phones, printer (located in the same office) and game console, receive positive signals / have no connectivity problem. With a new installation of Windows (i.e. the BONES cost installation before using each method) I tried to install the unit using the following methods: 1) using the Setup program on the CD-ROM included, 2) using the last program (drivers) site Web of Linksys, install 3) manually through the device with drivers from the Disk Manager and installing 4) manually through the Device Manager with the newer drivers from the Web site Linksys. In addition, I tried with the firewall disabled/uninstalled software.

I had some success using the Linksys Wireless Manager program that is included in the installation program. However, it is only if I choose the option 'connect to the hidden network' when the Wireless Manager is ran in the last step of the Installer (no network is detected the case). The quirks are that the network is not hidden, and after Setup is complete, I can see all the wireless LANs with the Linksys Wireless Manager (no need to check the option hidden network). After a few diagnostic tests, I think that the Network Magic software that is installed in quiet mode with the Linksys software is at the origin of the problem.

During the detailed above method that allowed me to connect to the network, I used the firewall software to observe that connectivity can be established only if nmsrvc.exe, a component of the network Network Magic/pure software platform that is installed silently, is allowed access to the network. After this program to access the Linksys Wireless Manager network can detect networks normally and connectivity problems disappeared. After he logged initially I can even kill the process, its assistance process and the program manager wireless, still maintain connectivity. I also thought about this magic (AKA pure networks platform service) network installation two other network protocols that when disabled preventing connectivity. With certainty the adapter only works if I finish the complete installation program by using the hidden network option and continue to use linksys wireless/network magic software later.

I'm trying to understand why the Network Magic software is necessary to detect and use all networks. As I said originally, I tried just to install the drivers through the device without success Manager. The adapter is configured on a machine Pentium 4 of 2001, and this software supports 40 MB of precious CPU cycles and memory. I want to connect to my wireless network and use the computer without software bloated slow down the computer even more. My own conclusion, after all these tests are that my router needs the network magic to work properly for some reason, but if that's true, I would at least use Windows connects to the network as Linksys Wireless Manager uses 30MB RAM itself. Of course, it's more a problem advanced if I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read all this and make their contribution. Thank you.

I think that the most appropriate statement would be that the WUSB54GC has some compatibility issues with Windows XP SP3.

Specifying the age of the available Linksys drivers I did some research and discovered that the WUSB54GCv3 uses a third party (a common practice), the Ralink RT2800UD chipset. Latest Ralink drivers for this chipset are over a year newer than the official drivers from Linksys. They require just a few reconfiguration so that they work with Linksys WUSB54GCv3. With the updated drivers comes better compatibility and performance often.

Once I installed these drivers updated the device could detect local wireless normally, and I was able to use the Zero Windows wireless utility to connect to my network. I think that others with similar compatibility problems will have the same result. For more information and links to these pilots updated already visit reconfigured: http://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/. There are not official, updated drivers for many other Linksys products here. Credit for the drivers and the Web site goes to this person: http://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/about.

  • Firefox detects java not

    Hello

I need to test that a certain website is compatible with Firefox. Some features on this site little requires ja some version of java, which I installed it on my machine. This feature works in IE and Chrome and also works in my personal machine using Firefox but for some reason, does not work on my work machine, so I suspect it's to do with the way firefox is installed on my work machine or policies of security or something.
Firefox does not detect my version of java, when I use the following url 'http://www.java.com/en/download/uninstallapplet.jsp'. For Chrome and IE the right version of java is returned.

Do you have any idea what could cause this problem?

    Thank you.

    TAM.

Hello. Sorry I got the java plugin set to "Never turn" in the addons section. Set 'Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51' in addons "always enable" and it works.

    Thank you.

  • Cannot detect the limits of reverse front/market

I have problems with the switches front and rear for my stepper motor system. When I created a NI Softmotion axis in Labview, no matter how to set limit switches, either appear as assets or both inactive, regardless of the position of the platform. I use for my end of race, photointerrupters. When I don't have the equipment under voltage, the photointerrupters works as expected and give a signal of 0 V when the platform is not the limit and V 5 beeps when the platform is at the limit. But when I try to use the Labview interactive panel (or in a VI elsewhere too) the limits are not detected and behave differently as well. I got a voltmeter connected to see how the tension behaved and pressure readings are odd. In a case when I tested the 'active' signal of each switch, was one of the limit switches to 6.7 V and the other was at 3.7 V, even if they had the same exact wiring and configuration. I'm completely stumped on how to connect these in the system so that they work or how to configure Labview to properly recognize these limits (meaning sourcing vs shipwreck and active State power). I searched the forums and manuals, but I can't seem to find a solution. Here are more details on the system:

The engine is now a platform back and stepper motor is powered by a Kollmorgen P70530 stepper drive. To communicate between the command of stepper motors and the computer, I use a cRIO 9076 with a NI 9512 in the chassis. To connect the end of race in the system, I used the NI 9512 connection block 37 pins. Switch in the photo that I use is a strong GP1A05 CIPO Photointerrupter with connector. For this photointerrupter, there 3 pinout: a Vcc input (voltage source), a GND input and output Vout. The SCR is supposed to be connected to a source of 5V and GND to the mass (obviously) with resistance to pull-up between Vcc and Vout (I use a k 10 Ohm resistor as who has what has worked for me in the past with this specific photointerrupter). Vout is supposed to give a signal 5V, then the limit would be active and 0V when it is not active. How I had connected the photointerrupter to the connection block 37 pin was as follows: to the limit before, I had the VCC to pin 9 (+ 5V OUT), GND was on pin 3 (COM) and Vout was on pin 1 (before the deadline). For the inverse limit, I had the VCC to pin 9 (+ 5V OUT) GND was pine 24 (COM) and Vout was on pin 20 (inverse limit). I also tried to connect terminals GND the switch of the photo to the GND (shield) pin on the plate at terminals without success either. In regards to Labview, I am running Labview 2011 SP1 on my computer.

If you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it if you would share that I am really confused with something that seems on the surface to be quite banal.

    Thank you

    Steve

    Steve:

    I am puzzled too-

    Manaual I looked:

    http://www.NI.com/PDF/manuals/372153d.PDF

    Your PIN seems correct.

I assume you have a power supply connect to Vsup and COM.

Research on page 3-10 for sourcing of the shows without pullup resistance, have you tried remove the 10Kohm?

    But watching page A-3 for levels of limits, it shows<5V for="" low="" and="" 11-30v="" for="">

I'm confused-pg 3-10 looks like the 9512 provides its own pullup still pg A-3 show the necessary voltages for entries.

I hope someone can clarify this.

  • What is the right way to this cross-platform application?

    Hey y ' All

I am a multimedia application with LV2010 and I am trying to do cross-platform (win and mac os x).

The I need the feature requires the use of system libraries, I have access to enough similar functions in the two operating systems

(winmm.dll in windows, coreMidi.framework in mac OS X)

With the exception of the current system of appeals on the screws will be identical.

I can do the work of VI in a platform by using the call library function node, but I don't want to have two copies of everything.

I tried to do sub wrapper VI that puts the call library function node in a case statement and detects the OS but this VI will not executable due to dependencies (will not find the library referenced in one of the cases depending on the operating system you are running)

Is there any way I can specify what Subvi to load on a project or something to get this issue sorted dependency?

You want to encapsulate the platform-specific code in a conditional structure disable with a condition for each supported platform. The symbol of the OS is already defined; see Help for the creation of disable Conditional Structures, which lists the predefined symbols and values.

  • Update for Windows Vista (KB2505189), updated platform for Windows Vista (KB2117917) Supplement - french and a security update Cumulative for the ActiveX for Windows Vista (KB2508272) stop bits

I have update for Windows Vista (KB2505189), platform update Supplement for Windows Vista (KB2117917) - french and Cumulative security update for ActiveX Killbits for Windows Vista (KB2508272). These updates get the 8007371B error code. I have Windows Vista 32-bit. I searched the Microsoft catalog available and tried a manual installation for these updates, but they have always failed. I have not yet tried to install it in safe mode. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?

    8007371B ERROR_SXS_TRANSACTION_CLOSURE_INCOMPLETE
One or more required members of the transaction are not present.

Only the specific return code can be solved by running system, aka CheckSUR update readiness tool -.

Description of the preparation tool system update for Windows Vista for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2

CheckSUR for taken over all the versions of basic x 86 (32 bit) Windows Vista

When you are prompted to save CheckSUR, choose to not run it.
When the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers.

If the installed antivirus is Firewall Norton/McAfee party or a 3rd is used, then suggest you first boot system configuration before you run it.

NOTE: In the clean boot state will be disabled all firewalls of part 3. Ensure that the native Vista firewall is now enabled - enable Windows Firewall on or off

    Now run CheckSUR (. Windows6 0-KB947821-v12-x 86.msu).
Restart the system for the same configuration of boot clean and do a check for updates in Windows Update in Control Panel.
If the system can search, detect, download, and install updates now, save an update of a subsequent test.

If the system can or cannot now, cancel the clean boot configuration and restart in normal Windows mode.
See if the registered update installs now.

If the system still cannot install the updates, please copy and paste the contents of one of the newspapers that CheckSUR created when he ran. They are located in and are named

    Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
    Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

If the system can install the updates in the clean boot configuration, but not in normal mode of Windows, then there are 3rd party software which is the origin of the update installation problem.

  • BT not detected after update BIOS and windows 8.1 & wifi adapter with envy J000 Touch series (J001tx)

Hi, I have an Envy Touchsmart J001 TX laptop. I've upgraded to 8.1 Windows a few days back and my pc was working fine. Yesterday, my WIFI and Bluetooth stopped being detected.

I checked Device Manager and it does not show the adapters. My system has BT Ralink and Realtek wifi b/g/n.

Restart the system, WiFI present themselves and worked normally, but on next reboot disappeared again.

The physical plane mode button is orange and pressing or off change in the status of shows like airplane on or off but the notification area icon mode shows no change.

The network and sharing Center shows not router WIFI in the settings of the card and even the menu of configuration of Windows 8 don't tell no detected wirelessadapter.

I've updated my drivers and even my BIOS. Earlier I got the version of BIOS INSYDE F.24 and current installed BIOS is INSYDE F.53. Here is the log file in the folder SWsetup containing the unzipped BIOS file. I think that the BIOS is not installed correctly. Please analyze the log file and do not tell if you see something wrong.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with the update of the BIOS, or with WIFI after Win 8.1 update?

HP technical support comes to walk me through the resolution of this problem.

    1. remove the battery and unplug the power supply

    2. press and hold the power on button for 30 seconds

    3. allow battery but to plug the power unit in

    4. Press power button, then press the f10 key immediately (a number of times)

    5. the bios Setup menu appears

    6. select Reset default values

    7. Select Save and exit

System boots and the wifi key changes from orange to blue

  • Eclipse can not detect my device BBZ10

    Hello

I installed the Blackberry Eclipse Plug 10 and now I am trying to add my device as a target. But Eclipse fails to detect the device. I tried to use the "Blackberry development Setup Wizard" when I tried to run the self-discovery. Automatic discovery has not then I tried to add manually by entering the IP address and the password for the device. I was sure of the mode of development on the device and the IP address has been entered correctly. I also tried to change the IP address, and I tried to reboot the device. None of this worked - Eclipse was still unable to detect the device. Is that all that I'm missing?

Because debugging using a real physical device did not work, so I decided I would try using the Simulator instead. I downloaded the BB! 0 simulator for Mac OSX and then tried to install it on my machine. Then I launched the disk from the .dmg file image and clicked on the icon to install. A window with a button 'Next' at the bottom right that I'm unable to click on. I waited for awhile and then I had to force them to close the window because nothing was happening.

As you can tell, I am not able to do any debugging, either with the Simulator or a real device. This is quite annoying and I must say that the folks at Blackberry are not making it easy for me to develop software for their platform.

I use a Mac OSX 64-bit OS version 10.8.4 with Eclipse 4.2 machine. My BBZ10 camera incorporates the latest version of the operating system installed on it as well.

    Thank you.

Looks like that I had to install BBLink first in order to work for the rest.

    Thank you!

  • Detection of network connection url suffix

I hate posting ANOTHER thread on network connections, but as I dive back into development of BB (been off work on other stuff for 1.5 years) I haven't found a single piece of code that encapsulates detect them and define the URL suffixes for different types of network connection. I'm glad to start working on something, but before I did I thought I would check to ensure that a "gold standard" for this type of functionality has already been found.

If you know such a "helper" class please let me know, otherwise I'll start working on something and post code on this forum for comments or improvements.

    Thank you.

Updated what PodTrapper check sees, OS and Device-wise, see the following page:

    http://www.versatilemonkey.com/story.html#platform

(This is from June, but close enough).

For networking stuff, I've implemented a wrapper here if you want to use:

    http://www.versatilemonkey.com/blog/index.php/2009/06/24/networking-helper-class/

    I hope that helps!
