• Vista crashes when I watch DVD videos or online and play solitaire but don't no where to play games like mass effect?

  I have ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series (2 GB of Ram, Pentium R Dual Core CPU E5200 @ 2.5GHz, Vista SP2, 32-bit operating system. I don't know if it's important). Lately my computer has been crashing when I watch videos or play a loner, but not every time except solitaire.  It freezes, green squares are everywhere, then it goes black and turns.  I've updated just as much as I can, I cleaned everything as much as I can. It does not crash when I play games suitable as mass effect, and that seems to work very well.

  Don't you think it's because I have little Ram? I looked up on this subject, most people just say to make things of course are up to date, but I'm OCD to make things of course are updated now, and it didn't help a bit. IM nervous to uninstall anything.  Ive forgot what it's called, but I did check to see if the files have been corrupted. Above all I do not understand why it does.  Please could you help.   Thanks for posting the query on the Microsoft Community forums. I understand that while you try to read the Spider or regular Solitaire game, you have an error message indicating that hardware acceleration is turned off or not supported by the video card driver.

  This problem can be caused if hardware acceleration is disabled.

  Method 1:

  Follow the steps to enable hardware acceleration.

  (a) click Start, type display in the search box, and then click Properties to display in the list programs.

  (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.

  (c) click the settings tab and then click Advanced.

  (d) in the performance tab or on the Troubleshooting tab, move the hardware acceleration all the way to the right (Full position).

  (e) click OK and then click Close.

  (f) If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.

  Method 2:

  I suggest you update the video card driver.

  Follow the steps to update the video card driver.

  (a) click the Start button.

  (b) type devmgmt.msc in the search bar, and then click ok.

  (d) right-click on the graphics card and click on set to update driver.

  I tried to play the windows 7 solitaire spider and get recurring problem where I can't move cards without flashing the screen and the icons on the slide bar to the right of the tasks.  It happens with IE and other programs.  Tried SFC/Scannow and update of Flash Player but no luck.  Help... • Office flashes all while playing Solitaire

  After upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, Solitaire and other games in Windows features same package have been stable for a while. Now, they have become unstable. The icon in the taskbar of Solitaire jumps a "slot" to the right back, several times, moved for a short time and then repeat the jumping over and over. The whole office flashes during the activity of jumping. It is only possible to move cards between the jump when the screen is momentarily stable.   This sounds like it may be more a video problem then a solitary subject.  You see this behavior with other programs at all?  First thing to do is to update your hardware drivers.  You will want to start first with the video card driver, but make sure you check on your other hardware as well.  Get the driver directly from the manufacturer of the equipment and make sure there is a Windows 7 driver.

• When playing solitaire, video is black with lines and no color.

  Part of the video has changed when I downloaded some updates. It is supposed to be a colored background. But now there is no color, and I don't know where to make these changes. This als happens with other programs like Skype.

  I'm ready to upgrade Windows 8.1 to 10.  I want to 'clean' by making a 10-install that erases all personal & apps, but...

  It is my mother, and she likes to play Solitaire which is preinstalled 'HP Games' on the 2340dx.  If I do a clean install, is there a way to download HP games (from hp.com) that runs in Windows 10?  Or, if instead, I install with the will to "keep the applications and personal files" that maintain HP Games, and he will work to win 10?  Or, to let him run must alone we keep 8.1?

  Update: I have just web-searched "windows solitaire 10 ' and MS includes their Collection of Solitaire with Win 10. (they removed it to Win 8)  So, I don't keep 8.1, which was the #3 Option.  But I still want answers for the first 2 options.  Thank you.

  Solitaire game isn't at HP, it's a game of Microsoft. You can use Windows Store to install Solitaire on your Windows 10. I do not install on our Windows 10 laptop computers but on our Windows 10 phones.

  I downloaded Skype as the Herald of the 'new '.  Now I can not find any games, I used to love.  I really want Solitaire Showdown back!  I loved playing this game with my daughter online.  How can I get that back?  After downloading Skype, it has not come back, you can't cancel and return to the Messenger.

  Hi - I did the same thing :(  I play Solitaire Showdown with my sister in England, so it was very frustrating when I lost my MSN.

  That's what I found...

  1. click on Start
  2. go in Control Panel
  3. click on uninstall a program
  4. double click on Windows Live Essentials
  5. Select repair all Windows Live programs
  6 restart your computer to update the changes.

  So I did that and come back to an older version of Windows Live Essentials (MSN) and always impossible to find games.  So I googled Solitaire Showdown and got this site...

  I clicked on start game and it took my old 'connect' to MSN.  Once this is done, I could click my sister and we had the game again.  It's a long way around, but it works... for now.  I found myself with 2 icons MSN (Windows Live Messenger)... one was that I couldn't find the game and the other was my old icon that has the games.

• Solitaire in Win7 problem

  When I play Solitaire in Win 7 Ultimate, the icon in the taskbar will jump on the side and the monitor starts flashing.  I only play Solitaire, so don't know if this problem exists with other games.  I use a single monitor and I use (Win 7) proposed the resolution 1600 X 1200.  However, the problem is exhibited with other resolutions.  Using "Windows features", I turned it off lonely, restarted the computer and then walk back.  No change.  The problem still there.  I also played with Visual effects by disabling the anamation control.  It helps, but the problem is still there but less.  This problem only appears when I run Solitaire.  Everything else works well.  Any ideas?

  As a result of this question: I replaced the ATI video card with a card that features NVIDIA chipset.  Problem solved!

  ·         Have you tried to maximize the screen for the game that the game starts in windowed mode?

  If you are referring to the actual size of the maps, it automatically changes with the size of the game window.  Just drag the border to adapt to the size you want. There is also what is called the "large print Deck", which can be changed by clicking on "Game", then "change appearance".  From there, you can select a card game and click on 'OK '.
