    Hello

I understand you want to know about PlayReady PC runtime amd64.

PlayReady is a Digital Rights Management (DRM) from Microsoft for portable devices. It was announced in February 2007.

The main differences compared to previous patterns of Microsoft's DRM are:

Some popular features that were already present in other DRM systems on the market have been added; It's the notion of domain (Group of devices belonging to the same user who can share the same licenses), Embedded licenses (licenses embedded in the content files, avoiding a separate step for the license acquisition) and envelopes (the ability of arbitrary content and potentially non-DRM media). It is also the system of protection for IIS Smooth Streaming, Adaptive streaming technology from Microsoft.

It is platform independent: Unlike the other diagrams of Microsoft DRM like Janus, PlayReady can be worn to any type of portable device, even if it uses non-Microsoft technology (OS, codecs, Media Player, etc.). But Microsoft has never developed or released a version of the PlayReady DRM for all Linux distributions.

PlayReady is competing with other owners DRM systems and even more with DRM software, particularly that of Apple FairPlay introduced in iTunes and QuickTime. There are several other DRM systems that are competing to become the dominant technology of DRM (for example, OMA DRM).

Microsoft has released the first version of the suite of PlayReady Server SDK, (Kit from Portage devices, PC SDK and DURATION) in June 2008. Silverlight 2.0, released in October 2008, supports limited with PlayReady content. From Silverlight 4.0, the implementation of Microsoft PlayReady in Silverlight supports offline scenarios content (via a persistent license), subscription (via chained licenses) and online content, only in streaming (via simple non-persistent licenses). Output protection support has also been added in Silverlight 4.0.

The Windows Phone 7 Silverlight implementation is supported by PlayReady.

Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008 and Windows 7 can enable content providers, such as TV stations, use the PlayReady PC runtime to encrypt locally premium TV content, including otherwise unrestricted cable and satellite television signals.

It will be useful. For any other corresponding Windows help, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

  • PlayReady update was Incomplete. You will not be able to watch or record content protected until the is qualified. Everyone I have this same problem and found a solution?

I clean installed 2 x times the RC of windows 7 pro x 64. Both times I got this error in media center. I manually downloaded the playready 1.3 program. I can record my channels satalite with no problems so I don't understand why he repeats the above message. However, I am worried that when the DRM updates for the satalite it won't work and I won't be able to update. I have not changed anything in the hardware level in the computer as so he wouldn't because he thinks it's another computer. Any help would be appreciated.

Clarification on this: summer working on this issue for more than 2 months on 4 computers, that's what I found.

Note: Not all the patches will work on a pc due to various stages of updates, patches, etc. No matter what anyone says or claims. What works for me, the other person or even technical support, may not be due to a strange configuration on your pc. Nevertheless, that's what I did on the final 3 computers that have no auto update of the readyplay.

    (1) get to the point in media center it says Readyplay failed to update, you want to try again.

(OPTIONAL) Download the tool from Microsoft DRM Reset, change in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 (or any version of Windows), run the tool as admin. He must install and say successful.

    (2) open Windows "Services" via the control panel > administrative tools > Services.

    (3) with Media Center open and show "the PlayReady update was incomplete. Do you want to retry? "Goto Control Panel"Services"you just opened and scroll all the way" Services Windows Media Center Receiver ", double-click it, and then click on"Stop ".

    4) navigate to the folder ReadyPlay HIDDEN (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady), and THEN Delete the mspr.hds file.

    (5) return to the OPEN & CONTINUES, Media Center and click 'Yes' and 'Next' to the question of the PlayReady update. He should immediately zip past and say update complete & you can watch and record copy-protected blah blah blah. It can also update a guide or something too.

If this doesn't work for you after that 5-6 tests, you have something to another block you, but you don't have need for both 32 bit and 64 bit PlayReady installed to update. This is the 'Service' which is really prevents the update, but simply stop w/o those other steps do not work >.

    Good luck!

  • Need advice of PlayReady

    Hi guys

I need to develop an application with PlayReady streaming.

I had a few links test (cannot share) but a white screen appeared when I opened, so I found this page:

    https://developer.BlackBerry.com/native/playreadydrm/

Apparently it takes special permission if you want to use PlayReady, so I sent the form a couple of days, and I'm still waiting for a response.

My question is if anyone of you have implemented PlayReady successfully, and what measures to take.

    I would like to know:

-What kind of clearance is given (if it is a special key that I have to download or permission is BB side server or something)

-If a special development needs to be done, or you simply pass the URL (for example, so-called HLS has been supported, but we had to develop a mini server-app to manage the SSL handshakes)

    Thanks in advance

    Pepe

Nothing worked and I'm pulling my hair out.  I use WMC with an HDHomeRun and a map of Time Warner cable.  This facility worked well for more than a year before installing this update.  The machine is a Dell XPS 8300 running windows 7 SP1.   I'm unable to watch all channels protected by DRM and I lost all my legally registered content.  It is a disaster and cost me 30 hours and counting.  Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know your problem, but 3004394 has caused a lot of problems for a lot of people - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/windows-update-kb3004394-issues/ace25277-7f65-4486-bc44-c1b106907a18.

  • Why Playready have not updated Microsoft abandoned this concept?

I got to the point where I tried everything to make the update of PlayReady load and yet he still refuses to connect.

This just seems to be a seriously broken technology!  It would really help if he would just tell me where he was trying to connect so I can at least check that the site he was trying to find was accessible, but on the contrary, all you get is that if the failures and terrible warnings about what will happen if you do not load it.  I would love to load it, but just will not load!
Can someone tell me what site it goes to so that I can check that networking allows access to this site.  I tried a number of different DNS (all others that you used a work know could help) and even tried to disable all the protections of PC.  I tried to plug in different networking services.  I even rebuilt the PC from scratch, and yet still unable to connect.
I have no evidence to support this technology as operational.  If someone can give me information I would be very grateful.

This is what has worked for me! A no fuss, straight forward fix. Download this update.

  • How to restore licenses Playready DRM for TV recorded after a hardware upgrade?

See the thread that I started:
    http://www.thegreenbutton.TV/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1109

At the end of this thread for my question about what breaks the Playready DRM, I stated here:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/891664

If there is an updated version of this KB article applicable to Windows 7 with Windows Media Player 12, then a pointer to such an article would probably prevent the need to respond to everything that follows.  For now, I guess there is no update instructions for restoring licenses.

In time, I was reassured by Microsoft KB article that I could upgrade my HTPC hardware without losing the ability to play shows I had already recorded.

I don't think much more on this subject until recently, when I decided that the time had come to make an upgrade.  So I went back to the article to see exactly what I had to do in preparation for the upgrade.  The first thing he says for me to do is to back up my licenses.  However, I am running Windows Media Player version 12 (which is what came with my Windows7 Home Premium), and it doesn't seem to provide a mechanism to back up the licenses.  This means that no such possibility of license-recovery-after-upgrade is available for me?   Or are there other mechanisms to back up my licenses?

Even if there is another way to back up the licenses, I see that restore them after the upgrade still requires a feature that my version of Windows Media Player does not.  Then I also need access to an alternative mechanism of restoration.  Is this one?

Looking around Windows Media Center, I can't find anything about the license management here either.

Considering the article like a Kipper full in Windows 7, my ultimate real question is that in the header for this post.

TV record types we are talking about here have copy - once protection and are recording using Windows Media Center has a CableCARD tuner.  I have a lot of them that I am not prepared to remove spied.

    Hi DavidVanserschel,

You may be able to manually reset DRM licenses. Take a look at the steps in this thread.

  • PlayReady in Media Center will not update.

PlayReady in Media Center will not update.  The message is "PlayReady update was incomplete.  "You can watch or save protected content until the update is successful.  All attempts to return the same error.  Netflix also only a black screen shows when you watch a movie.  Live TV works except HBO which is protected against copying.  How can I fix?

    Hi William,.

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

From the problem description, I understand that you have problems with the PlayReady Media Center update on Windows 8 computers. I will certainly help you in this regard.

Try these methods and see if it makes a difference.

    Method 1
Loan will not update if the date is wrong. I suggest you to check if the system date and time is correct.

    Method 2
Temporarily disable your firewall settings and check if you are able to update.
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3

Open Windows "Services" via the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
With Media Center open and show "the PlayReady update was incomplete. Do you want to retry? "Go to the 'Services' Panel you just opened and scroll all the way up to"Services Windows Media Center Receiver", double-click it, then click on"Stop ".

Navigate to the folder ReadyPlay HIDDEN (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady), and then delete the mspr.hds file.

Return to the OPEN & CONTINUES, Media Center and click 'Yes' and 'Next' to the question of the PlayReady update. He should immediately zip past and say update complete & you can watch and record the protected against copying.

Carry out these methods and let us know if you need more assistance. I'll be happy to help you.

    How to fix this problem?

Cause unless this problem, that I won't be able to use WMC how I used it for the last 5 years.
