PLDS DVD +-RW DS - 8A3S do not write
I have a Dell 1545 with PLDS DVD +-RW DS - 8A3S. I am running Win7 with all updates. I can play CDs and DVDs fine, but I can't write to CD or DVD. Device Manager it lists as "CD-ROM" and said that the current driver (Microsoft - version 6.1.7601.17514 - 21/06/2006) is up-to-date. I burned the CD and DVD with her in the in the past, but I'm not sure if I tried to burn anything since I changed from Vista to Win7 some time ago.
I'd appreciate any help
Jerry
Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number. Dell: http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/product/Inspiron-1545
If there is no driver, your PC may not work correctly (No. LAN or WiFi, Audio, USB, etc.) after the installation of Windows 7.
If there are Windows 7 drivers, download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, then from the card mother/chipset drivers, LAN, Audio, USB, Graphics, SATA, Webcam, Etc., and so on.

Still, it reads but does not write.
I installed an external burner and repeated the above; same result.
When I boot with Vista, the two burners work perfectly.

PLDS DVD +-RW DH - 16AES will not burn a DVD - RW
Hello
I have a PLDS DVD +-RW DH - 16AES drive in my workstation Precision T1700. It burns no more than DVD - RW discs. I ran various diagnoses and there is nothing obviously wrong. I tried to burn discs from Sony and Maxell DVD - RW. I can't even format the disk using Windows Explorer.
Any suggestions?
Ritek is not one of my favorite brands. You can see the comments here are mixed for this media code. So, I'd like to try something else. I honestly think that DVD + RW is usually better.
Another thing. You need to format the RW disks.

My DVD Player reads but does not write/copy (Satellite A60)

Please help me.
You can reply to [email protected]Hello
Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean with adaptation? If you want to burn files to DVD media, it stops after about 3%. Am I wrong?
Try to remove the drive from Device Manager, and then restart the device. After that the drive will be recognized and installed correctly. You can also try reinstalling the burning software.

CD/DVD RW drive bed but will not write...
I use Windows XP and use the disk drive: Optiarc DVD RW AD - 7530A. Under "Properties" is the State of the device "working properly" and he plays both CDs and DVDs. However, it will not write. I tried several software programs, including windows Media Player. When I right click on the driver, there is a recording tab.
The drive appears to work at first, but it can progress remains at 0% and the drive will continue as he does something, but it's not. If I try to cancel the burning using buttons in the software, nothing will happen. It will freeze my computer. The Task Manager will not work, and my only option is to keep the off button on the laptop until it dies. When I turn it back on, a small window pops up saying files are waiting to be transferred to disk, click on the bubble to continue (or something like that). If I click on it, then I see the blue screen of death and the computer shuts down.He also seems to have done something for my Explorer, it freezes too (I'm on Safari now)may be a full AV scan VIRUS.

Drive DVD TS-L632D not write & burning CD and DVD
I have a portable Hassee W230r with a tsst ts-l632h DVGW DVD player.
Recently, the DVD drive is not burning DVDs or write data on DVD discs.
It allows to write DVD OK, but now after it said burning was a success, there's nothing on the disc.Sometimes it sucessfully writes CD, other times it fails, especially when creating audio CDs and t plays most of the DVD (although sometimes he jumps about 5 minutes before you load the CD and DVD)
I can't find a driver for it, and to be honest Im not sure of time I should be using a driver, or "firmware".
I have dual boot XP and Ubuntu Hardy 8.04. Ubuntu Hardy comes with its own drivers for Hardware, but I get the same problems using Ubuntu on Windows. Which made me think that it was a hardware problem.
The laptop is 6 months old.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello
What burning software do you use? I use Nero software to burn and there is option where you can choose on which way must be written (CD or DVD). Please check is somewhere on the software that you are using the same option.
Also, you should contact the seller a DVD Writer what the writer can write? Or you look at the homepage!

DVD drive does not write - Satellite M40X-175
Im having a problem with my dvd. I tried to burn my movies, music and my files on a dvdr or cdr, I tried DVD - RW and CD - RW but I do it every time gives error "d:\ is not accessible incorrect function". but when I try to watch a dvd movie or use my music cd, it does not work. He reads. Does this mean that my dvd drive cannot be read and not write?
[Edited by: admin on 4 February 06 20:23]
Hello
Satellite M40X sounds new enough to have CDs of feature writing. Seems to me a HW question but you can try:
1 - Clean the blank CD with a cloth dry
2 - blow to the goal and do not forget that there is no dust
3. you can uninstall the driver from
-> Panel-> system-> hardware-> Device Manager-> DVD - RAM-> (right click) properties--> driver uninstall-> restarting your laptop. If they do not contribute, you can contact a Toshiba authorized Service partner. You can find the one nearest to http://217.45.123.236/toshiba/resellerselector.nsf/WebServiceProv?OpenForm

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
correctly.Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.
Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.
CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.Several good info here:

Vista Home Premium will not write to CD - RW; will write to the CD - R and DVD
I installed all the updates window vista Home premium. I have a DVD/R/W/drive. Vista will write a CD - R disc and the DVD disc. Vista will open the media on a CD - R, DVD, and CD - RW, which is what I use. Vista will not write on a CD - RW disc, sending the files on the drive, pop - up Vista says "insert writable disc in the drive", or he'll want to format the drive, formatting always fails; I removed the filter upper and lower; I used MR. FixIt, and she came back with "media in the CD/DVD drive is not writable '; the disks are writable, but they are not recognized by Vista in writing. Here are the nine on box Maxell CD - RW discs. I have no problem with vista, write files to a CD - R or a DVD to burn. Windows Media Player will burn music to these CD - RW discs. How can I get Vista to recognize a CD - RW as a recordable disc?
Hello
1. what program do you use to burn files to CD - RW discs?
2. what type of files you are trying to burn?
3. this happens with all new CD - RW discs?
Try these steps and check.
Step 1: Lower the burn speed and check.
Step 2: Reinstall the driver of DVD player.
a. click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpland then clickOK.
b. in the hardware tab, click Device Manager.
c. expand ligthscribe-ROM readers, right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.
When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click OK.
d. on the Action menu, click on Search the hardware changes.
Step 3: If you have still the CD for your burning software, uninstall all the other DVD burning software on your computer and check. You can install their return after verification.

The DVD player may require cleaning with a cheap kit that you can buy at any place that sells computers. I had good experience with my readers DVD LG, not to mention my LG TV that I love. One thing you can do when you are trying to burn DVDs would be to reduce the burn speed. I usually use the software Roxio or Nero to burn DVDs - they have always worked well for me.
Relative to the backup, use one of these big drives for backup and you get a good 3rd party backup program like the free Easeus todo backup free of charge that you can download from
http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm . Better yet, you get an external hard drive. You can buy these days 1.5 to ones for about $90.
Good luck.
