Satellite L300-13 s - USB recovery instead of recovery DVD discs?

Hello

Well, for the first time in 8 years I had to do a system recovery using the disks that I created when I bought my l300-13s using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
I had inadvertently deleted the HARD drive recovery partition when I decided to make a clone with a larger HARD drive.

What I want to know is instead of making recovery discs DVD can only do a USB key recovery?

Thank you

Peter.

When you open Toshiba Recovery Media Creator you can see media options that can be created. I m not 100% sure, but I think that the old L300 there was possibility of recovery DVD only so I think that you cannot create USB recovery.

  • Satellite T130 - Toshiba create USB recovery

    Hello.

    This is the situation:

I have laptop Toshiba T130 with no DVD player. After installing Win7, I shrunk the partition D tool in Win7 and used the free space to install Linux with GRUB. Then I shrunk the partition also C by Win7 tool and free space to create another. This however told me something about the dynamic disk or something...

But he has somehow broken GRUB so I decided to reinstall Linux. But the scores have been somehow broken, but I installed Linux on the last partition. Since then I could not start Windows or repair because partition D has actually been removed!
The C with Win7 partition seemed intact.

Trying to fix the computer and try to start trouble, I got error 0 x 090 or something with partition table error. So therefore, I deliberately decided to create the new partition with Gparted that off my HARD drive. Then I put in place the new partitions: 3 x NTFS, (400 MB recovery, partition Win7 and another) + extended partition containing the NTFS partition + ext4 partition, swap.

Then I copied the hidden files (that I had saved earlier) in a hidden partition on the HDD laptop + I copied folder of Toshiba 3rd NTFS partition recovery (I had backed up the files immediately after obtaining of the laptop).

Now, I'm stuck with 0xc000000e error when you try to start. I also followed this thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=53952&tstart=15

Can you help me with Win7 Starter? And what program to use to make Win7 64 bit USB bootable recovery CD? I tried unetbootin and USB, but they did not...

Any advice will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you very much!

Oh mann what are you do is incredible. ;)
The entire structure of the HARD disk is now screwed upward. I m just wondering why you did that on this small Satellite T130.
I mean it's OK all what are you do and you can do what you want with your machine, but my personal opinion is you're wrong for laptop for all of this.

Satellite T130 is small ultra portable laptop designed to offer the maximum of mobility and offer long battery life, when you are out of office or travel through. So I think that the most important thing for this laptop is well installed and configured the operating system that runs stabile and with the minimum of consumption of energy. This laptop doesn t have the optical disk drive and the overall situation is more complicated if the factory settings are changed.

You now have on the HARD drive is nothing but the jungle and to me, it seems pretty confusing.
If you checked s user manuals document you can find the exact explanation, what can be done with the recovery image saved on the second partition and what type of recovery media can be created.

Recovery image is not designed for use with third-party applications part so it can be problematic to create USB recovery drive.
Thread you link posted is better thread on this topic and if this will not help I really don't know what you can, except for ordering original Toshiba recovery DVD and make the installation of OS to get the factory settings again.

  • Since another laptop Toshiba Satellite L300 - can I use Recovery CD?

    Hello

    I can't get a computer to load Vista (Equium l300 (I think).
Ubuntu loads very well (I have a linux partition 8 GB, with GRUB installed in a separate partition), but when I try to load vista I get "to go". "and nothing happens.

I tried HDDRecovery by pressing '0' or 'F8', but this gave me a check disk for errors and nothing more.
I always have a backup of HARD drive recovery in another partition, but I know not where to place them, can you tell me where?

Then I discovered that I have a wife satellite toshiba recovery disc.

I can use it to recover the satellite or it will remove a real installation of Vista, put a 'pirate' new copy in its place?
If I can't do that, can someone tell me where to place the folder HDDRecovery image?

In General, Toshiba create materials recovery and images of recovery for each laptop model separately.
Each laptop model has different hardware and recovery images are not the same.
Before the start of recovery it will be checked if the recovery image belongs to some portable computers. If the identification is not just installation of recovery is interrupted.

One last thing. If you have changed the structure of the partitions or installed some other OS, you will not be able to use the recovery saved on the HARD disk image.
It is bad enough that you have ignored the reminder of recovery with clear instructions on creating recovery DVDs.

    Here is the original post:
    Important INFORMATION

your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need to repair
your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do it directly
hard disk (press F8 when you start your computer, choose "Repair your computer"
and follow the instructions in the menu) or create a media drive bootable recovery for this purpose.

Toshiba recommends you create recovery disk medium using the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator"

  • Re: Satellite L300-1BV - create your recovery disc ISO images

    I wondered about this.
Could make my recovery disc ISO images, I know I could just make a few extra copies, but I am learning to create ISO images.
But I was a little worried about what would happen when I put a disc in the drive...

This along with the recovery image is a bit complicated, and something like this is not possible.
All you can do is create recovery DVDs using Toshiba recovery disc creator or directly start the HARD drive recovery using recovery Toshiba (F8) option.

You can do with it what you want but how you want to start the installation later?
Sorry, but I think that it will not work.

  • Satellite A500 - 14Q - Question about recovery-DVD

    Hey,.

My HD crashed recently. My laptop was still under warranty, so I send it back and they replaced the hard drive.

When I came back, I installed Ubuntu and it works very well.

But I need Windows Vista for computers in some programs (Visual C++, some games,...) that does not work under Wine. Given that I had not made a lot of things, I thought to use the recovery media. Normally, you should be able to do it from the configuration (hold 0 or F8). But it doesn't work (I get a different screen with no options).

After some research, I realized I could order a recovery dvd. I wonder if this will work because my laptop is already running on ubuntu? And it will reinstall Vista?
It would be stupid to more worn 30EUR for recovery dvd that does not. If this is the case, I'll just buy Windows 7, but that seems like a waste of money, since I had before my broken HD (free upgrade).

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Why use Vista on this machine? It must be supported Win7, so before you spend money for Vista old and not so perfect to buy Win7 and you will have great machine with the new operating system that works much better than old Vista.

  • How to format a Dell Backup and Recovery DVD disc copy?

In 2013, when I bought my Dell Inspiron 15R is 7520, it was preinstalled with the Windows 8.0 operating system. Using the Dell B & R software right now, I created 8.0 Windows system image in different regions in 3 DVDs.

Since then I have had then improved to 8.0 Windows 8.1 and year last at 10.

To avoid the loss of data in case of failure of equipment/system, I created the image of the system of Windows 10 in an external hard drive (WD Passport 1 TB).

But other readings suggested that I also need to create a bootable in case system repair disc if Windows refused to load. That's why I wanted to format the disks from windows 8.0 image I created in the year 2013. However, the disks are write protected and I can't format it.

Can someone tell me how to format disks that are protected from writing software Dell B & R?

    Thank you.

If the media is DVD-R or + r, it is write - once.  You will need new discs to make a new recovery boot disc.

If it's on DVD - RW or + RW, you can format the disks using Windows or another utility (Cyberlink, Nero, etc) and re-use the disks.

  • Satellite U840T - cannot create USB recovery media

Can someone advise please - I have a new U840T Satellite with SDDS and try to create a recovery media using a USB key.

The Toshiba 'Recovery Media Creator' inviotes I plug a USB key at least 10.4 G. So, I inserted a new USB 16G. The app clearly did not see this, even if it is recognized by the PC itself, no problem.

When I press 'create' to load the stick, the app just says: "the process of creation for all media was cancelled" is not only wrong spelling, but completely useless.

I do something wrong, ir is just a very poor app?

    Thank you very much...

Is there a chance to revive it, or is it better to give somewhere on the site?

First of all: this is the English language community - please post in English!

    Now a few questions:
Hard drive recognized by the BIOS (BIOS first page)?
If this is not the case, the HARD drive is dead and you need to replace the HARD drive.
After that, you will need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk to reinstall the system.

If you n t have this disk, you will need to use the Microsoft Windows CD to install the operating system.
The necessary drivers are available on site pilot Toshiba.

  • Cannot retrieve Satellite L300 using HARD drive recovery option

    Hello

I'm trying to restore to factory settings but have no luck.

I tried pressing F8 when the toshiba logo comes back, it goes to the screen of boot in advance and I select computer repair and it boots to windows. I don't get the recovery options.
I also tried pressing zero when switching on the laptop just rings home.

    What im I doing wrong?

It is a vista running L300-149

As I see all you do is right.
Turn on your laptop and press F8 several times and you will enter the Advanced startup options

The first option should be repair your computer and after two or three steps, you should see The System Recovery Options , and last option there Toshiba recovery.

Have you used this recovery options in the past or you are trying to use it for the first time?

    >, is it possible to start the recovery of a L300 DOS image?
I doubt that this is possible

What you could do is to start the Toshiba HDD recovery procedure by pressing the F8 key.
A start menu should appear, then you should choose the first option called fix my computer.
Then it should open a new window with an option called Toshiba recovery.
Choose that and usually drive HARD recovery must begin.

But this procedure is possible only if the second partition and HARD disk recovery file has not changed

    Hello

You can use the Toshiba Recovery disk, even if the HARD drive has been replaced.
Usually it s no matter you use a new HARD drive...
The recovery disk would be to format the drive HARD integer and must install the Toshiba image correctly.
