Police of incorporation

How can I incorporate a font in a PDF document using my iPad? (Document Acrobat Cloud)

Hi Daniel,.

Currently, we don't have an option to embed fonts using Acrobat on iPad. Please use Acrobat on Mac/PC to incorporate fonts. Click here for more information: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-embed-fonts-in-a-pdf

  • setTextFormat() more than once on the same channel?

    I try in vain to attribute a textFormat to two different parts of the same chain, but the second time, it does not record and remains the default text format. the two styles (regular and "BOLD") of the police are incorporated.

    //Create Text Field
    private function createAboutWindowTextField():TextField
        {
        var aboutWindowFont:Font = new AboutWindowFont();

        var regularFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
        var boldFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat();

        regularFormat.size = boldFormat.size = 12;
        regularFormat.font = boldFormat.font = aboutWindowFont.fontName;
        regularFormat.align = boldFormat.align = TextFormatAlign.CENTER;
        boldFormat.bold = true;

        var result:TextField = new TextField();
        result.antiAliasType = AntiAliasType.ADVANCED;
        result.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;
        result.defaultTextFormat = regularFormat;
        result.embedFonts = true;
        result.multiline = true;
        result.selectable = false;
        result.type = TextFieldType.DYNAMIC;

        result.text =   "First Header\n" +
                        "Version 1.0\n" +
                        "Copyright © 2011\n\n" +

                        "Second Header:\n" +
                        "Other info";

        result.setTextFormat(boldFormat, result.text.indexOf("First Header"), ("First Header").length);
        result.setTextFormat(boldFormat, result.text.indexOf("Second Header:"), ("Second Header:").length);

        return result;
        }

    the code above should result in the two "first header" and "second header:" become "BOLD", but only "first header" will be put in bold while "second header:" seems to be simply ignored. What is the problem?

    I was told that it would be easier to use the style sheet / HTMLText, but I don't and I don't know if they said it is not possible to apply multiple instances of the same textFormat to a textField without using the HTMLText and style sheet, I'd find ridiculous if true.

    somoene in another thread has answered this question.  the 3rd parameter in my setTextFormat is incorrect.  I was specifying a length not an endIndex.  I'm officially retarded.

    These warnings are not a problem for the export settings you use, not for CreateSpace so they can take the dynamic transparency.

  • PDF forms increasing in size from 10 to 100 x no reason apparent

    Hello.  I'm doing a series of forms in Acrobat Pro 11

    These are very basic documents, they contain a few lines of text and form fields.  Think of them as a form of standard fee as your W-2, that's how they are designed.  And they are all very similar to each other.

    Eventually most of these forms, in that I have created about 50-80KB file size, but some of them ended up being up to 6 MB in size, and I can't for the life of understand me why.  There is nothing else to their topic.  They are all optimized for displaying web pages, they use very minimal fonts (all the Arial Regular/bold/italic) and most are embedded subsets and there is no graphics in any of them.  If I register as a "small size pdf", it goes from about 5.8 MB to 5.2 MB.  I looked around optimization tips everything I could find.  6MB is not 'big' these days, but I don't see why some of them are 100 x larger than the others when they are almost identical in structure.

    Is there a way I can inspect the inner workings of these documents to know exactly who it is who takes so much space?

    It could very well be due to your use of Arial, assuming that you use in fact instead of Helvetica. Even if you specify Helvetica, Acrobat and Reader override a private version of Arial in any case, so what you do by specifying that arial adds unnecessarily space since the entire police is incorporated, sometimes several times. The problem is you can't go back and set the fields to use Helvetica and see the reduction in file size that you can imagine. This is due to what I consider to be a bug that I hope will be corrected. If you start with a fresh PDF, but you can copy fields abandoned to the new if you change first them to Helvetica. Or if you know how to hack into the PDF file, you can retrieve after you change the fields to Helvetica.

  • Fonts by which Suits as a PDF exported from InDesign

    I am looking for a solution to some fonts display incorrectly in a PDF file when they look fine in InDesign.

    I'm on Mac OSX, Acrobat 10.1.13 and 10.1.11 (update did not help) and font book is my font manager.

    Fonts are not lacking in InDesign and the control panel fonts shows them as installed. But the problem fonts seem to miss in the properties of Acrobat/Fonts tab until I have install with the font book. They all show as embedded subset.

    For example, it is a page of InDesign (ignore the contours of the block):

    Screen Shot 2014-12-22 at 4.31.47 PM.png

    Here's a PDF of screen capture:

    Screen Shot 2014-12-22 at 4.32.52 PM.png

    The police is Carta (the boxes), but of other fonts substituted a font serif for other text as well.

    I can't recreate the circumstances since I have now installed the fonts that were incorrectly. I guess that InDesign can locate and display fonts in the working folder, but can't Acrobat.

    It doesn't seem to be any warnings there is a police problem. Is there a foolproof way to find out if a font is being overridden in Acrobat?

    In fact, there is no such set of privileges as Overview of privileges in terms of integration. TrueType and OpenType fonts is to allow No incorporation (police cannot be embedded in a PDF, EPS file or ePUB in any circumstance), Preview and print incorporation (the police may be incorporated, but only for display purposes and printing - such text in the PDF file cannot be edited) or installable embedding (police can be installed later somewhere else).

    When you export a PDF from InDesign, if the font used in the InDesign document contains at least Preview and integrating printing privileges, it will be incorporated into the PDF file. Otherwise, you will get probably a warning to export InDesign, but also a PDF file which does not display correctly unless you have these fonts actually installed on the computer of the recipient of the PDF file system.

    The way to check regarding the font is well embedded in a PDF file is to open the file in Acrobat, press the Command D, then click on fonts at the top of the dialog box. Each policy referenced in the PDF file is listed. If the police is incorporated, it says either embedded or subset incorporated with the name of the font. If the police is not incorporated, it will also tell you what the font is used for display, perhaps the same font, accessed from your installed fonts or perhaps a substitution font.

  • CS4 export to PDF problem

    I'm the editor of layout for my high school newspaper, and we recently had a new imac. We put cs4 on it and made our first page.

    I exported to PDF (with the same settings as on the old mac that works very well) and all the headlines turned to black boxes. We then took the form of indesign files the new mac put it on the former and exported out of that old and everything went well. Note the black boxes.http://imgur.com/eOdm9yG

    That's what went wrong...

    That's what we want...http://imgur.com/qdIDQQM

    Thanks in advance for any help

    I return to my computer. I see the boxes here and it's certainly a kind of problem of availability of fonts, if she says that the police is incorporated. If I select and change the font of the text appears.

    The fonts in question are HelveticaNeue HelveticaNeue-Bold and HelveticaNeue - Italic (TT). Here are the versions of the Mac of Helvetica Neue systems?

    CS4 is fully patched on the new system?

  • How to decrease the size of the PDF file without reducing the quality and links?

    How to decrease the size of the PDF file without reducing the quality and links?

    Michael and Phil,

    Your ability to reduce the file without diminishing its quality depends on the quality required for their intended use. If these are intended for viewing on screen, then high resolution pictures can be re sampled or changing the resolution without real change is the quality, as long as the user can say. Number of files use subsets of fonts or the incorporations of fonts. Sometimes you can remove subsets of fonts or embedding the fonts if the font will be on the user's system. Subsets of fonts can save space, but if the pdf is a result of several different sources, desincorporation policies and incorporating a copy of the policy can save space.

    Honestly, the size of 2 MB file is not the problem it once was. However, maybe the pdf not by e-mail at all. There are players on a server as well as a link sent to each user.

  • How to set the characters that turn up during the drag-and - drop?

    When I drag & drop pages in a file, in another, some of the characters (periods, J, *, etc.) turn into squares.  This has just started happening and had not arrived when I performed the same action previously.  How can I fix it?

    Thank you.

    Usually, this occurs because the fonts are not included in the file and it cannot identify the font. You need the police on your system if you want to copy in this way. You may have to go back and make sure that the police is incorporated (can use preflight to do this).

  • Pesky text box

    Hi gang. I have a box of dynamic text on a clip that I use as a button (for a cursor). To be precise, it is a clip on the stage that has an applied MOUSE_DOWN event listener. There is a circle in the music video and a dynamic text box in the right in the middle of the circle movie clip

    The text field is set to NOT be selectable, the police is incorporated, buttonMode and useHandCursor are true. I have a hand cursor when my cursor of the hit from the outside of the circle, but once it hits the text in the middle box, the hand cursor disappears.

    Any suggestions as to how I can make the cursor hand stick? I plan to replace the dynamic text field with a film that has a scenario full of numbers, but that would be giving up.

    Any input appreciated, thanks,

    Hi all

    As the title, how do I exit/fade dynamic textfield with the mere knowledge of AS3? I have 3 textfields on stage, instance names: txt_1, txt_2, txt_3

    Every 10 seconds, I'm going in the new channel to all 3 textfields. I would like to improve the Visual for them, thinking that it would be better by adding in fading in and out effect when new channels are passed in.

    You can use tweener or the tween class flash or any other class of part 3.  I (and many others) prefer tweenlite by greensocks.

    and Yes, you need to integrate your fonts no matter what you use.  You can view a textifled with a less than 1 alpha, unless the police is incorporated.  There is no exception.

  • Text embeding

    Hi everone,

    Maybe this has been answered in the forum, but I am unable to find anything using the search.

    This isn't for a particular project, but it is something that I need to understand, once and for all. It's all about incorporation of text.

    I can embed fonts using the library, as well as other assets.

    I manage fonts in the window seal fonts, select which characters I want to use and set the name of the class to use in the code.

    By the way, I always use the classes, I never embed code in the timeline panel.

    1. I want to solve the use of different fonts from the same family! For example, use the font Arial, Normal variants and "BOLD".

    I can integrate the two, but it still shows the normal font.

    Surely I can embed a font, but if I enter one of them from the same family, normally, only shows one of them.

    I've seen many Web pages to tackle this problem, but the majority, not to say all, use 'Embed '. I think it's exclusive to Flex, since Flash asks 'where is the Flex SDK?', and even to say where he is, it does not compile.

    I didn't wan't to go with the TLF framework, but if you think that he could solve this problem more effectively, can you provide something or somewhere with a tutorial or an example?

    2 another problem that happens is that sometimes, the use of some policies, after that embeded, work perfectly in my computer and it presents in "Times New Roman" another computer. The police is embeded and it is absurd to force users to install a new font file in order to function properly, so what's the problem here?

    Thank you.

    You lost me... But we'll see:

    In the library, I created Arial using Arial and ArialBold using Arial (Bold). The following works fine:

    import flash.text.Font;
    import flash.text.TextField;
    import flash.text.TextFormat;

    var arial:Font = new Arial();
    var arialBold:Font = new ArialBold();

    var textfield1:TextField = new TextField();
    with(textfield1){
        x = 10;
        y = 10;
        width = 200;
        embedFonts = true;
        defaultTextFormat = new TextFormat(arial.fontName, 12, 0);
        text = "Text in Arial";
    }
    addChild(textfield1);

    var textfield2:TextField = new TextField();
    with(textfield2){
        x = 220;
        y = 10;
        width = 200;
        embedFonts = true;
        defaultTextFormat = new TextFormat(arialBold.fontName, 12, 0, true);
        text = "Text in Arial Bold";
    }
    addChild(textfield2);

    Please note that I had to put TextFormat.bold true for bold text.

    This time we'll use more obscure fonts, ratings and ratings (Bold).

    import flash.text.Font;
    import flash.text.TextField;
    import flash.text.TextFormat;

    var audimat:Font = new AUdimat();
    var audimatBold:Font = new AUdimatBold();

    var textfield1:TextField = new TextField();
    with(textfield1){
        x = 10;
        y = 10;
        width = 200;
        autoSize = "left";
        embedFonts = true;
        defaultTextFormat = new TextFormat(audimat.fontName, 24, 0);
        text = "Text in AUdimat";
    }
    addChild(textfield1);

    var textfield2:TextField = new TextField();
    with(textfield2){
        x = 220;
        y = 10;
        width = 200;
        autoSize = "left";
        embedFonts = true;
        defaultTextFormat = new TextFormat(audimatBold.fontName, 24, 0);
        text = "Text in AUdimat Bold";
    }
    addChild(textfield2);

    In this case, I did not TextFormat.bold true, but the second TextField is bolded. (You can define "BOLD" to true, which makes the same result "BOLD").

    The inconsistency, it's because of the police how incorporated statement named Flash (in theory, anyway):

    trace("Arial.fontName", new Arial().fontName);
    trace("ArialBold.fontName", new ArialBold().fontName);
    trace("AUdimat.fontName", new AUdimat().fontName);
    trace("AUdimatBold.fontName", new AUdimatBold().fontName);

    // Traces
    Arial.fontName Arial
    ArialBold.fontName Arial
    AUdimat.fontName AUdimat
    AUdimatBold.fontName AUdimat Bold

    As you can see Arial (Bold) reports itself as "Arial" If Flash is unable to tell which fonts to choose. Ratings ("BOLD") on the other hand, reported as "Ratings"BOLD"" so that Flash can select the bold typeface.

  • Newsletter > fonts and printing problems

    Hi guys,.

    I'm designing a newsletter in InDesign. Then I exported to PDF and send it to a group of people. My questions are

    (1) I use default font Adobe Garamond on my Mac for the text. I wish that the police be incorporated and power to anyone who open the pdf file to print with this font. Is this possible? If is not what are my options?

    (2) is there a command or a script that would do the PDF to open at a certain size when viewing on the internet? Most of the people who will receive the PDF is either old (not very good view) and very little knowledge of the computer (maybe even do not know how to zoom). I would like to open in full page. You can use the same set of pre (high quality print) then go the area of compression and set the pixels per inch for your images on a setting lower (I usually use around 91ppi)

  • Dynamic text field not display the text even when the font is embedded.

    Hello

    So, I have a basic actionscript code.  It is a heritage site, so I use AS2.  The line of code is simply this:

    myField.text = "text".

    So I select the text field on the stage, and then make sure that the police is incorporated.  All the glyphs I want are checked, but then when I compile and test, the fonts do not appear when the code is executed.  Instead, the TextField is empty!  That's happened?  Where the text is?

    I should mention that the .swf that I compile is loaded in another parent .swf during execution.  If that parent .swf contains no fonts embedded, which is why it broke?  I'll try, but I just wanted to see if anyone can give some advice for troubleshooting.

    Thank you for your time and help!

    Yes.   the main swf file must incorporate this policy.

  • Fields with no kerning?

    I am really upset, I've created a form with a series of fields. When the information is inserted in a field, police kerning seems removed. In a field of type ATAWAY and compare that with how it appears in InDesign or Word. Seems to make no difference what police is incorporated, the type is not kerning. Has anyone else seen this or is it a singular coincidence in my system?

    Bill

    Unfortunately, the kerning is not supported for fields form created with Acrobat.

  • The OTF/CFF fonts in PDf format

    Hello

    I'm working on the incorporation of files of full OTF with table SBB in PDF. It looks like simple fonts (no CID-keyd) may be incorporated Type1 fonts and CID Type0 with type FontFile3 of OpenType fonts. Is there a difference in point of view of a reader type is used within a document?

    Also, as I understand it the PDF/A (which is inspired by PDF1.4) does not support open type fonts. This means that no matter how I use to fully integrate an OTF font with table SBB (like "Type0 or Type1 fonts PDF), PDF output will not be PDF/A compliant?

    Thanks in advance, the yoou

    Alex

    Before PDF 1.6, the way one would incorporate a font of OTF in a PDF file would be to 'remove' the information from OTF and simply incorporate the police, either as a 1/SBB Type FTT, depending on the data type of the police inside the OTF.   These two are fully supported for PDF/A-1.

    With PDF 1.6, you can now directly integrate a font OTF (two types).

    As long as the police is incorporated correctly, a player of consistent ISO 32000-1 don't care what type you choose.  Of course, as stated above, a file A-PDF-1 must meet the requirements of the standard.
