  As far as I know for Satellite L650 exist no high capacity batteries but only one original with capacity 4400mAh.

  Do not use other batteries which are not compatible to your laptop model and this largest battery does not fit into your laptop.

  What you should try is to reduce power consumption. Use the power saver Power plan. Reduce the brightness of the display, close all unnecessary applications and disable all devices that you don't need.

  Thanks for the reply - and I would have already except that I can't find the original battery sku, etc..  I have a spare battery that is different from the original manufacturer - so everything that I know is that it's a 6 cell, 4400mAh, 48 wts... I guess I can try with the computer model and these specifications; just thought someone might know a good site to buy batteries-...

  Ah, a question I had.  In my manual for the Aspire, it indicates that unless I need to use the computer with the power of the battery that I should just use the power cord - I always said that a battery must be in place, however, I use the laptop plugged into the power supply cord, almost all the time--must be the battery?  Seems weird to leave this big hole in the bottom of the computer, seems strange.

• Portege 7200: Need a compatible CD - RW burner

  I bought the portege above of the laptop 7200 on ebay and have no problem with him, but no one knows if its possible to upgrade the dvd rom to a CD - RW burner.

  Don't know if I got this right, I use a lot of karaoke midi files.
  I thought it would be a good idea to find out if its possible to upgrade the drive.

  I have Windows 2000, xp home edition installed and a 100 GB HARD drive.
  Any help would be welcome.

  I know I could get a USB external drive, but I really don't want the hassle of extra wires.

  When you go to buy a new battery it will be difficult to find one, but not impossible!

  Either you contact a partner of Toshiba Service who have the possibility to order these parts directly from Toshiba or you googled around!

  If you hav luck Toshiba has a battery in stock and you can order!

  I rang just up with Toshiba, I asked for a price for a 2nd battery for my laptop, they told to 150EUR.
  They also said that am 4200mAh battery, as nothing is written on this subject, it is impossible to verify.

  The fact is, I found a battery to 40EUR on internet, compatible with my laptop according to the site, but given to 4400mAh, not 4200mAh.

  Then, I recalled the store who sold me the laptop (DARTY), nothing found on the Toshiba 400-page notice, but, the website of "LA FNAC" announced for my laptop a 4400mAh, not 4200mAh.

  Question: anyone of you bought a 2nd battery for this L670-1KZ which is not a Toshiba original one?

  If Yes, at what price and if all link plse, I'm interested.
  And what mAh?

  I found the info that for your laptop model there are two types of battery only:
  PA3356U-3BAS
  PA3356U-3BRS

  So if you use Google and put these numbers, you should be able to find an online store where you can buy these compatible batteries.
  By the way: link you posted is OK and I don't see the reason why you shouldn't order of it. It is listed as compatible.

  To extend the life, you need battery with more cells and ability, but it is unfortunately not available for your laptop model.

  The battery time depends on usage and what you do. For example if you run a large number of programs and work with a high CPU utilization low autonomy and requires AC adapter / CC soon. Also surf the Internet needs battery power.

  You can improve the battery life if you use the eco mode power plan. This will reduce the brightness and other things to improve the battery life.

  First battery charge time may be 8 hours but that's different and according to other things.
