  I don't know what model of laptop satellite you have exactly, but if you use the original Toshiba Recovery CD you will be able to install the OS without any problem. If you have the new laptop model and you want to install Windows XP Home edition, you need SATA driver.

  Without SATA driver installation for Windows XP Home edition will not be able to recognize the HARD drive and you will get a message of lack of HARD drive.

  I am currently trying to obtain a model of machine configuration virtual xp in lab management. I have deploy the model, mount the .iso image file, start the installation, but then installing XP spits a message that there is no hard drive detected on the computer. I checked the properties on the machine, there is obviously a hard drive I put in place. It is in the format of BusLogic SCSI parallel. Is there a specific reason for this installation isn't or doesn't see is not the virtual disk? I have not really found something in the help or documentation which speaks of a specific operating system installation issue. Everything is useful, thanks in advance.

I want to use the other 2 hard drives, local drive "D" and "F" of the data, how can I go about it?  Am I right in thinking that I must install an operating system on them, that is for Vista, and as it has been preloaded on my laptop, how do it on the other 2 drives?  I'm not at all in computing, and any advice would be welcome, because I really need to be able to make use of all this space!  As I have Vista already installed on my main drive and a product key (no), can be installed on the other 2?

  If your system is running absolutely fine without any problems, you need not to reinstall Windows to create partitions. You can create partitions in a program called disk management in Windows itself. How to create partitions by using disk management in Windows 8, click here

  Do you mean the Toshiba recovery CD?

  I never tried to recover the image of Toshiba via RIS, but in my opinion that RIS does not recognize the 3 as a Windows CD of Installation CD1 because the recovery CD Toshiba image isn't really a Windows CD of Installation!

  The restore CD contains only the image files. To my knowledge these are ghost files
