Portege is stuck with fan at full speed

Sometimes even a few times a day.
There were theories blaming the docking station.

Once upon a time, an update firmware for the fingerprint, which was supposed to remedy.
Well, after 4 years of suffering, losing the files, without solution of Toshiba...

I got it.

U N I N S T A L L T E M P R O.

No more problems don't like that, even using the docking station.

Toshiba's fault!

Eli

Well, the problem happens again, once in two weeks, instead of two times every hour.
I found a way to reproduce the problem in 20 minutes: a 16 GB SD card full format,.
Once I uninstalled "Toshiba PC Health Monitor", I could format the work of 2 hours.

Good luck.

  • Tecra A10 - S3501 Power blinks, fan runs full speed.

    Welcome all,

I have a clients Tecra in the shop, and after having received a good description of what was going on at the tme of failure, I still can't understand it. She was watching a flash video when it froze. On reboot, it will not init the LCD, it seems at least partially POST, the CD spins, and all LCD screens blink as usual. Still no init LCD and the power light flashes green, without cause, is not a binary led post code. The fan runs at full speed directly and remained there for the duration. I counted 20 a second flashing with the fan at full speed, before you turn off the power. Any ideas? Customer has no guarantee, so would be good remedy for her. :-) Thank you and have a nice day.

When I call the technical support they had me check the connection of the fan to the motherboard and set power options to save energy. Problem still exists. They had me also pull the video card to be sure it wasn't this fan, but it was not. They tried to tell me that this is normal... No way should the CPU fan spin full speed all the time. I have no patients must remember and discuss with them righ now since I spent 3 hours on tech support Saturday for a new LAN card wireless, sent me. ERRRR.

  • Mac Mini (mid-2010) fan running full speed

I went on the hard drive of a few years for one SSD OEM and the fan runs all the time.  In my view, there is a connector on the card, which has no connection with it.

How many connection should be here soon out of the drive to connect to the map?

    How can I fix?

The original HD had a sensor taped to the road with adhesive tape double faces. You had to move the sensor to the new drive. Without the detector, the fan runs at full speed.

  • iMac fan runs full speed after the migration wizard

Hi, just a clean installed 10.9.5 BONES and then I used the migration assistant to transfer my backup time machine from my old computer. He made the transfer, took nearly 4 hours. Then when he was done he rebooted the computer, and as soon as he started the fans in the computer run at full speed. I have a small (HARD drive fan control) software that I have installed to see the temperature and it tells me 119F and fans are 4962 RPM. Why it does this?

Once the computer restarts, it said it was computer optimization and it can affect performance, can that cause the problem of fan? I did e-mail importing and installing imessage and now I'm looking at the speed of the fan and it is now 118f 4638 RPM... always very noisy. This computer did not a fan NOISE until I migrated my data.  Help, please!

Once the computer restarts, it said it was computer optimization and it can affect performance, can that cause the problem of fan?

Yes. It should settle down after the Spotlight indexing. Which can take some time, depending on the number of files that needed to index.

119 ° F is on the colder side of normal and no reason for concern.

  • Compaq Presario CQ62 fan running full speed but not overheating

Hello everyone, Ihad a fear a while ago and I was freaked out. I only am not much with the material so I came to you all.

I had absolutely nothing on except a browser and youtube. There is no intensive program or anything running in the background when all of a sudden the fan running at full power. It was extremely noisy and scary since it's my first to deal with this. I had the computer for 4 years and I have never rough with her, but a week ago I had someone try to clean, but they have managed to take off the keyboard and that's all.

I panicked and turned it off only to turn it back on, the problem is that I don't remember the error message I thought it was 90 b and he says that the fan was not working properly

However this site says the fan was not working or he fell from the tree, which may be the case for them, but for me it worked as hard as possible.

    What should I do?

I was going to borrow a Tablet, so I can use internet to disassemble and clean.

However, from time to time I spray outside with the aircan and I have the laptop on stilts, so it is triggered on an angle. I put it down for the first time today to do this.

    ANY suggestions?

    TL; Dr

    Fan worked at maximum capacity

I think I have an error which I think has identified as 90 b and he said that the fan is not working properly

    I use a Presario CQ62

Before hand, he worked at the same max thought that the laptop was > warm just a little hot.  AND none of the intensive programs ran

If they are all the same part I linked will work for you. It's the radiator and fan. You can buy just the fan and replace in your radiator but if all this is so cheap, why go to the extra trouble?

  • Fan at full speed at startup

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-4071nr laptop. I am running Windows 7-64 bit operating system. The version of the BIOS is dated F.29 07/11/2011. I started to receive an occasional error of fan cooling, 90 b, startup code.

I hope someone can explain the behaviour of my computer and recommend a solution:

    (1) as soon as I turn on the laptop the fan starts to run at high speed. Even if the laptop is cold the fan begins to operate at high speed.

    (2) the fan will continue to operate at high speed as long as the computer is on. I can leave the computer just sat there, no applications running, and the fan continues to run at high speed.

    (3) the computer feels hot. HWMonitor reports various temperatures around 50 C.

    Now for the interesting part:

    (4) if I take the laptop to the front, for example, I take the front of the laptop on opposite sides of the mouse pad and lift, the fan will slow down to low speed, what I would call normal speed.

    (5) if I let the computer warm up, take it by the front to let the fan slows down and then place it down just to the right, the fan will then appear to function normally. He speed up during its use more heavy and slow down when use is reduced.

    (6) at any time the computer thinks excessively hot.

No explanation for this behavior? Bad fan? Bad connection?

    Thank you.

    Hello

its time now for the replacement of the fan but before goin to the conclusion that I will give you some

    1. update the version of the bios of the hp.com site by entering the product number of your computer under software and drivers.

    2. then download available for the computer bios and install it the fan runs should come down in the same case

    3. can update the latest version of the software on the computer hpsa, and restart the computer hoping that this should fix the problem if not

Then, it's a time to replace the cooling fan of the computer.

  • Processor and fun of rear cooling fan runs at full speed on Pavilion HPE h8-1120it

Hello, since yesterday when I turned on my HPE h8-1120it HP Pavilion the CPU fan and rear fun cooling are always rotating at high speed, and they never stop. I have nothing no hardware changes, no change in software. Two days I will I work all day without problem, I turn off as usual the PC, I'm going to bed and then yesterday morning I turned on and now I have this problem. The PC is brand new (I bougth it about 1 month ago). There is no problem of temperature (now I 19 ° C on my computer room).

Read another similar post I figured might be a bios problem. The version of the bios is 7.11, I tried to see if there is an update of canno't ' t there, but I find an update of the bios for Pavilion HPE h8-1120it.

I burned a CD with the hardware HP Vision Diagnostic and I run the pleasure of tests and they all passes. During these tests, the pleasure seem to achieve the right speed in the progress of the test.

I noticed this strange thing: when I bought the PC I immediately activated in the bios the use of VT to use hardeware virtualization with VMWare player. Yesterday, I found this setting changed and disabled and it's very strange because I did not change the values in the bios.

What can I do? The noise of the fans at full speed is impressive, that I can't work on these conditions!

    Thank you

    Davide Angeli

    Hello

There are not many fans rated at 4 000 rpm. With this type of fan RPM coupled with your observation that VT missing then your PC seems to have a problem.

Maybe it's time to contact the HP Support.

HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

  • X 51 R1 full speed while only idle fans and BSOD while playing

    Hello

8 days ago, I made a package of 12 windows updates. Given that it took a while I let the computer run alone. After an hour or two, I started to hear the fans going full speed, making a lot of noise.

The screen was black and I had no alternative but to shut down the computer (power button long press).

The next day, I could play normally on dogs Watch awhile. I started to get strange behavior when you try to make a coop with a friend on the Prequel to the border area. Indeed, after only 10 minutes of play, my fans went at full speed, frozen, this screen in a split second a message saying: graphics card can be removed in use (or something like that) and then move on to a BSOD one restarts quickly.

After that, even without doing anything, the fans care after 20 min more or less to do nothing. And it is impossible to run a game.

Here's my serial number: ADMIN NOTE: maintain the label removed by privacy policy >

    What I tried:

-install the latest GPU drivers (with clean install using DDU)

-to return to a pilot GPU I know was very well (with clean install using DDU)

-install a restore point from before windows update

-checked with GPUz behavior of the system (using the SKY to press on the use of the GPU)

    Results:

    Has not changed anything

GPUz reveals that when fans start strong, it's like my GTX660 totally stop working.

-> When running SKY, I had no problem... fans went crazy just 5 min after executing it.

    so... I got lost.

It's my GTX660 who just died?

    Thanks for any help!

This happened to me several times.  What I did was open and moved the remote GPU of the fan power cable.  He was was blocked, causing overheating.  Also, be sure to only use the black clip thing, if it moves too far, that it would have the same effect.

  • Dell PowerEdge Fans always runs in full speed

    Hello

I have a problem with a Dell Poweredge 2900 server witht. The server is still running the fans at full speed.

I tried to update the latest version of the bios and the firmware for environmentally sound management, but the problem is not resolved.

Dell OpenManage shows only a single error, said of the intrusion into the chassis, casing is open, but case is closed properly. I think that the sensor is bad, I try to look for the switch, but I can't.

Please let me know where is the switch of intrusion of the chassis on this server, or how to disable.

    Thank you

As suggested by Theflash1932, the intrusion switch may be damaged and located on the Bay of housing Center fan. It cannot be replaced as one of its components. See the image below.

It is replaceable like a Bay of housing of Dell part number: NF078
