Portege M600 keyboard & Touchpad not working not

Hello

I have an M600 (PPM60A), I recently did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 (not an update own) a few times (?) A week?) After updates in line required, keyboard & touchpad no longer works, when it is connected to the docking station.

All is well by using an external keyboard & mouse wireless.
I tried "F9", even trying to reload the Synaptics Touchpad drivers from the Web from TOshiba site - it gives the message - Syn TP... Installation failed.

Anyone has any suggestions or do I now has an "office of low power!

> after updates in line required, keyboard & touchpad no longer works, when it is connected to the docking station.

Have you tested the laptop without docking station?
What about new OS install? Have you tested if the keyboard and the touchpad works after recovery again?
Do this!

PS: the Portege M600 is not portable low power it s a business class specifications and belongs to a series of notebook better.

  • Windows 7 Ultimate, keyboard/touchpad not working all other startups?

A laptop computer that had Windows Vista on it, I bought Windows 7 edition integral and installed the same computer, after you put in a new hard drive.  All updates are performed.  It seems to happen every time you start another.  The touchpad/keyboard will not work.  Not sure what the remedy is.  Also, the question becomes just how to turn off once it comes on without the keyboard work.  Hit the power button, in my opinion, this isn't a good answer.  The unit seems to work fine when he had Lunix for OS, but I prefer Windows 7.

To turn off it when the keyboard and the touchpad does not work, you can try to plug a USB mouse or external keyboard.

I suggest that you go to the web site of the manufacturer and update the chip set driver and touchpad driver related device is established with the latest Windows 7 drivers available.

  • Portege M600 - ConfigFree does not work very well

    Pls help friends...

I've used it before very well with ConfigFee.
Once I changed the profile, the LAN and wireless IP change correctly.
I m on WinXP SP2. I just reinstalled Windows and ConfigFree does not work very well.

I have LAN IP and wireless in this profile.
I have the problem when I change the profile, I received the error message for the wireless IP does not change (the question did not pass.) TCP/IP configuration

The following may be responsible for the failure. Wireless LAN Utility is active (Please close the utility). Network Properties window is open (Please close the window). The Internet options window is open (Please close the options window). I use PROSet to control the wireless.

I tried the solution proposed and even reboot my laptop, but there s no chance...
    Can help you pls?

First of all, you can use a single tool to configure WLan.
You cannot use Windows WLan configuration option, the Intel ProSet utility and ConfigFree at the same time.

Second, I put t understand why you use ConfigFree to Wlan configuration.
In case you, I advise to use the Intel ProSet tool or clean Windows WLan settings.

In addition, I put t understand why you change the LAN and Wlan profiles?
In all profiles of your Wlan IP address must be set to automatic as the WLan router automatically assigns the IP address.

But like I said above; only one WLan configuration tool can be used!

  • Portege M600: keyboard problem

    Hello

My M600 just got a little problem (I hope) today.

The 'x 'key' doesn't quite work. I have to press very hard to show the letter 'x '. It seems that the upper-left hand corner of this key is stuck, so he bends to the bottom right when I press on it. How can I solve this problem?

I am located in Glasgow (G4 0JQ) and do not know if there are any office of maintenance here, but just know the nationalwide Service Pick-Up & return for laptops Web site. However, I prefer to deal face to face with the engineer in a few minutes, because I guess this isn't a big deal, isn't it?

    Thank you very much
    Ting

    Hi Ting

What to say? You know that the best solution is ASP and finally change the keyboard. I really don't think you can fix it alone.

I recommend you check out http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP. You will see where is the nearest ASP. Make a call and see what they say on keyboard problem.

  • Z830 - pad digital satellite on the external keyboard does not work

    Hello

I tried to get an external keyboard (USB) to work with my Z830 running Win 7 (64-bit). I've tried three different keyboards to USB in ports and also a wireless keyboard.

The keyboard works fine, but I can't the numeric keypad right of the keyboard to work.
It allows me to move the screen IE when the NUMLOCK is turned off but when the NUMLOCK is turned on, it does nothing.

I looked in the bios and changed the parameters relating to the features of legact and also the numlock option, but to no avail. The numeric keypad on the keyboard worked on other machines.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Ash

    Hello

I'm not quite sure that all this, but my hypothesis is code KBC m is missing in the BIOS.
Satellite/Portege Z830 keyboard does not support keypad so maybe that's the reason why the numeric keypad on the keyboard can not be activated.

I tried a restore to an earlier date

    Sounds like a hardware problem.
Try to configure the computer laptop back to factory settings. I guess you have to use an external USB keyboard in case the internal keyboard does not work.

  • Portege R500 - keyboard USB Legacy support does not work

    I have a Portege R500-124

I use it to dock in the office and the lid is closed, so I need to enter a password for DriveCrypt and generally control the boot/BIOS from a USB keyboard. But no matter what I set the setting that is inherited from the USB in the BIOS, the USB keyboard does not work. I tried the keyboard connected directly to the R500 when undocked and it's all the same. I also tried BIOS 1.6 and that's all the same.

USB keys are working and I can boot from them, but no work of measures (for example, F12 to choose the BOOT device) keyboard - the R500 doesn't seem to have the functional USB keyboard support until an operating system (Windows or Linux) has started.

    Any ideas?

I can't confirm this, but I'm afraid you're right about that.

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

    Dear Ment0r

what your BIOS Setup? I must say that the hardware is configured by the operating system.

Normally XP tablet should discover the keyboard without problems. What type of keyboard you have, German or international (there the umlaut?)

In Device Manager, (right-click on "My Computer", select Properties, then hardware, Device Manager), is a current keyboard? Try uninstalling (right mouse button) and then perform an Action-> Scan for hardware changes.

I hope that you will be able to solve it, please let us know how you rate...

  • G780 keyboard does not work, but ONLY if the Elan Touchpad driver is installed.

I have a bad surprise today--unlike other manufacturers, which offers one year free tech support, Lenovo does not. $179 for a contract or $89 to cover an isolated incident. Thank you, guys. :-/

    Here's my problem.

G780, bought last October. Upgrade to Win7 Home Premium Win8 Pro.

A few days ago the integrated keyboard has stopped working. It works in the BIOS, but when you start in Windows, Windows does not recognize it.

There is a PS/2 keyboard driver and device keyboard HID that appear in Win8 Device Manager. I guess these are the drivers for the built-in keyboard. If I plug in a USB keyboard, it appears in the device as an additional device keyboard HID Manager.

By trial and error, I discovered that the keyboard still works fine when the Elan touchpad driver is not installed. The problem with THAT: I can not disable the touchpad unless the driver is installed, and if the touchpad is not disabled, it will screw me up because I accidentally brush my hand against the touchpad while typing.

I also noticed that sometimes the touchpad in the system tray icon with a WARNING icon overlaid on top of it (you know, the little yellow triangle with exclamation point). I can't understand why, and I can't understand what has changed on my computer that caused the keyboard to stop functioning properly.

I tried uninstalling the Elan touchpad driver, download the latest driver from support G780 web page and put it back. No luck.

I make do with a USB keyboard at the moment, but I really need this problem is resolved.

    Thanks in advance.

So I had uninstalled the drivers of momentum earlier... yesterday I tried to reinstall those supplied with the computer.

At least the keyboard worked now, but the drivers have not been properly disable the touchpad when I plugged the mouse.

Then I hit Fn - F6, not really thinking that he would do anything, but it fixed the problem.

I would have but the pilot would have overridden some setting I put with Fn - F6, but... maybe not.

    Problem solved.

  • Pavilion DM1-4000sd keyboard and touchpad not working not

    Hello

I'm back from holiday yesterday and when I tried to power on my laptop that he had to go through the windows recovery. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but it seems the keyboard and touchpad are not working in windows or recovery recovery screens / normal boot selection screen. Also I can not access my bios (not), so this is most likely related to the same problem.

The laptop was working fine before and I've never had any keyboard / touchpad editions.

What can I do to fix this?

Problem solved, plugged a mouse usb and it worked in the recovery menu. Still confused but on how I'll never get into the bios...

  • T410 and T420 keyboard and touchpad not working is not windows 7

    Hi guys,.

hope you can help me with this. I have a really strange behavior, I have to say...

I received a T410 and worked two days on this subject. A desk, I moved to another location and worked for a few hours. After lunch, I started again the machine, but the touchpad or the keyboard does not work. If I connect a pointer through the USB port on the computer, the pointer is working, keyboard unfortunately not.

Ok. Installed new Admins. I worked one day, the next morning, same problem. Well, back to the admins, reinstalling. Once again, for two days, I was able to work without any problems. So as it happened the third time admins decided to provide me with a new hardware: I received a T420. I worked with this week without any error.

At Christmas, I took the mobile home. I had worked with him for an hour. I used a pointer USB bluetooth wireless. No problems so far.

I went to the office this morning a guess what? Same problem with regard to the T410: startup of Windows but the touchpad and kayboard does any work!

What I don't have? In my opinion nothing special:

    (1) to start the machine

    (2) pointer added

    (3) connected via WIFI network at home (Home-network application settings)

    (4) packed the laptop in my suitcase and fled.

    (5) back in the office connected to the network via LAN, connected via VGA for monitor, usb keyboard, added pointer.

What this may be? I want to say that I am able to destroy for different machines! Only town is Windows 7 and T4xx series...

    Any idea?

    Yes! Found round!

The problem is that I changed my mouse setting in Control Panel. I received a message asking me about uninstalling the driver for the touchpad. I clicked on "Yes" and restard after he is blocked.

A friend had the same problem he's changed the setting from the touchpad.

I reinstalled the driver, now I only get the message more and I can change my settings. After restarting doesn't always work.

The whole story seems incredible. Keyboard and new laptop does not work?
Install the check and image recovery again if the situation is the same. If the problem persists contact your local dealer, explain the situation and ask for Exchange.

  • Portege R100: the keyboard does not work

I am facing a problem. My laptop keyboard does not work. How can I purchase a new Panel of key for this model, or how I can fix the problem.

    Hello

I put t know what is wrong exactly with your keyboard, but I guess the keyboard needs to be replaced.
To my knowledge the keyboard was fixed by 2 screws under the thin cover above the keyboard.
You must remove the thin cover and then the 2 screws.
Then, you will be able to set the keyboard.

But be careful; the keyboard must be connected with the flat cable to the motherboard.

Compatible keyboard, you can order from the Toshiba service partner in your country.

    Greetings

  • Keyboard does not work on my T650-1MC Satellite

Keyboard does not work no more at all. Instead of this, continuously + is typed in a text field (or insert permanently, if NUMLOCK is turned off). A USB keyboard works very well (keys CAPSLOCK on the USB keyboard allows to activate the light on the laptop keyboard), but the continuous + s persist.

ALT + tab does not work, and clicking on stacked items on the system tray or. Windows just appear and disappear again.

The touchpad works always intended to lead the mouse around, but the "tap to click on ' and 'slide your finger on the edge of the mouse wheel' functions no longer work.
    Thx for any help

This model of laptop is not known to me, but after reading your ad I think the keyboard is defective and must be replaced. I mean what else you can do about it.

Try to get the new keyboard and replace it. After that it all will again be OK.
