Portege R630 - how to clean cooling system?

I've had my Portege R630 for a few months now and I love it. HOWEVER! Small snag. I live is a House with 3 other people and it gets pretty dusty. Not really bad, but I'm not going to lie it's almost clinical environment. Now, my R630 started having what I think is 'too hot' for processing power used.

Currently, my CPU usage is between 10 and 20% according to time and PC Health Monitor, my system CPU are 60% and my fan runs at 50-60%. My system has the Core i3 2.53gHz processor, unusually warm for the system?

And if my guess is so dust is linked. But how to clean the radiator on it? It's not really normal. I can get my hands on a can of compressed air, but because the fan is so far away from the CPU, the dust could be everywhere on this side of the laptop. What is the best way to get clean?

Thank you very much!

Hello

Cleaning of the cooling system is not complicated. All you need is to jet of compressed air that you can buy from every computer store I think.

Before to start the cleaning procedure remove the AC/DC adapter and battery. Turn the laptop around, then blow air gently and shortly into the holes in the case. This will blow out the dust.
As you can see is very easy and it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.

  • Portege R700 - how to clean the keyboard keys?

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Portege R700 - and I spilled coke on a small part of the keyboard.
Not surprisingly, the two or three keys are now "sticky."

Is it as simple as access to the keyboard and the relevant keys of cleaning?
Or is it not that simple?
If I can do this, is there a pictorial guide on access to the keyboard?

I'm reluctant to open first without consulting the tech manual.

    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion, you will not be able to clean it properly. Coke is full of sugar. It can be complicated, but you can try it.

In the worst cases, you must exchange he keyboard.
So what you need to do is to remove Cap key for each critical button. It is set with small farmers in plastic. Just take something like the credit card but more stabile, put under the key cap and try to remove it. Under the key CAP is little key mechanism. Try to clean it with a damp cloth. Be careful and clean without a lot of pressure.

When you think it's OK place the key cap and press it very gently of course.

You'll hear the clicking noise and the cp key should be up again.

I hope that you will be able to make it work again.

  • Portege S100: How to restore the system TOSHIBA Power Saver setting

When I had to test my battery and created a new setting of power on my laptop, I accidentally deleted the default schema TOSHIBA Power Saver of my those listed on my utility on Control Panel Power Options.

I tried to restore the Toshiba utility, by recreating a power scheme called "TOSHIBA Power Saver" - but Power Options says that there is already a framework plan of the same name.

When I start the laptop, I get an error message saying that the TOSHIBA Power Saver utility has experienced a fatal problem and he has completed the program.

Can anyone advise me on what I do:

-restore default TOSHIBA Power Saver setting.
    -stop the runtime error occur
-put things the way they were back.

    Thank you very much

    Seems so ;(
I would recommend the recovery CD because the whole procedure takes about 10 minutes only.

But don't forget to save your data if it's important.

  • Satellite Pro A300-guest 1GT - cleaning of cooling system

I can't find any Toshiba Satellite Pro Web site service manuals.

The problem is that the computer becomes warm during use, the cooler works on the top speed, I'm usually solve these problems by cleaning the cooling system. HP Compaq have service manuals where all wrote - what and how open, how to clean and what screwdriver to use.

So there are available on the Web site Toshibas maintenance manuals?

    Hello

These service manuals are not downloadable for ordinary users of my knowledge.
Just a Toshiba authorized service partner could download this.

However, if you want to clean the cooling modules, then I recommend using a jet of compressed air. In my case, it always helps.

  • How to clean the cooling on Satellite Pro 6100 module?

Since my laptop for some reason stop (explained in my last post), I read messages from others who are similar to my problem and some of the responses that they was that they must clean the cooling with a vacuum (vacuum) module.

So I was wondering how to clean it and where is it? (I m not an expert on computers)

    Hello
I am not owner of a Satellite Pro 6100 but I saw this laptop on several pictures and it seems that the fans are placed at the rear near the CC.
If you try to vacuum dust and debris from these grids of fans.

I found also found a very detailed instruction how to remove and open the Satellite Pro 6100. http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba6100/Toshiba_Satellite_Pro6100_dismantle_1.htm

You have a hard drive partition to do - but you would need to contact/see the FAQ from the hardware manufacturer (HP, Dell, Gateway, Lenovo, etc) to see if and how.

Otherwise - you might have to order (pay for possibly) the factory restore/recovery of the value of the manufacturer.

  • Clean the cooling system - do it yourself or give it to the service

    Hello

I am a happy owner of X 200 a year. Recently, the cooling fan began to turn more often - it's time to clean the cooling system. My question is - I will lose warranty if he do it myself? (laptop disassembly, put the new cooling paste, clean the dust) Maybe I should give it to the service? Experienced people in this topic?

Has anyone taken apart his X 200 to do these things? It is very complicated compared to other laptops?

Thanks in advance for the answers

    Kind regards

If you remove the heat sink / fan there is a good chance that your guarantee may be cancelled. If the palette for fans of cleaning and wipe the dust do not work, then just send it in, and the deposit will change a new fan/heater for you.

  • How to clean CS6 install on a new PC Win7 64 bit system?

How to clean CS6 install on a new PC Win7 64 bit system?

I think I have improved all way from Version 7 th.

There's no problem. If no previous, active software is detected on the system, the installer to upgrade simply return to its secondary mode and ask at the entrance of the old series in a second step for verification. Unless you do some exotic crossgrade / sidegrade stuff, it should work without any problems whatsoever.

  • How to kill the cooling system warning that slows down the CPU?

    Laptop: Satellite S2450-101

    Please help me ;-)

I had problems with a fan on the motherboard connector. I'm a "craft" bridge to make it work. Now, I was able to control temperatures: I do the works of CPU to 100% and the temperatures indicated by 'SpeedFan' remains to the "Local Temp = Temp 36 ° C / 44 ° C and 43 ° C = Temp1 = remote." The exhaust gas remains 'soft' and never hot as bafore (60 ° C and more). Now, I think it's actually safe... BUT... I still have a lot of unpredictable warning that slow (and it's deep...) of the processor.

It is said (translation from the french): _ "WARNING: an error was detected on the cooling system." Shut down your computer immediately and consult our provider "_".

To be honest, I don't know if this is really the connector error... maybe other hardware (probe...) or a software problem. * I just can't use my computer with this warning... Please, help me to kill this process or perhaps only to stop the "crunch" of the processor *. I do research in the registry, but without success.

    Thank you.

    Best regards.

If I understand you correctly, you manipulated mainboard and now you also want to manipulate this warning.
As I know the owners of laptops have no influence on this warning and you can not disable it so just.
What would happen if each of us might be able to turn off all annoying warnings and ignore the material damage?

  • Satellite A300-M00 - how to clean?

Hello, my A300-M00 is about 2 years old and so far it has been very well. The core temperature at idle is at around 50 degrees, and whenever I do something like install a program game a game it amounts to + 70 degrees. I cleaned the fan at the bottom of the laptop but I can't have any other party the cooling system due to the design of the laptop.

I did some research and found compressed air could help out but would it be useful my laptop especially with the design of the cooling system? I also found that the thermal grease my need replacing then how long that need to be replaced?

Finally, someone could tell me if the Toshiba customer Service does all this and how much it would cost?

    Thank you.

    Hi inserted,

Why compressed air spray shouldn't t help you? This can be done on all computers laptops, not only on laptop computers from Toshiba. You can get the jet of compressed air from each dealer computer I think. Blow gently and shortly the depression of the air holes of the case. This can blow the dust from the cooling fans.
    Check it!

If that doesn t work, you can renew the thermal grease. Maybe it of necessary, but it always depends on the use of the laptop.

Of course, authorized service provider can also do it for you, but I put t know how much it costs. In your case I give them a call and ask for it. Who s the easy way! ;)

    Hi there everyone,

I bought a Satellite P500-12D, which was a return of retail. When I start it up it runs a few minutes and then it appears on the screen:
WARNING: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please, turn off computer immediately and return it for service.

Follow the health of toshiba CPU is less than 50% temp and if it goes much higher that the cooling fan turns on and it lowers down and the fan stops again, I noticed that only the fan works r/h to cool the cpu, both should come together? What is a software problem?

    Hello

Which program gives you this error message about the cooling system?

Before contacting a service partner, as you can read in the error message, you must clean the cooling system using a jet of compressed air. Maybe dust blocking the fan or something else. Of more to clean up it of not necessary to disassemble.
Here is an article on this topic: [how to clean a Toshiba laptop cooling system? | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=40]
