Portege Z30-A-108 - use of the headphone/microphone jack

My Portege Z30-A-108 (running Windows 7) has a unique plug taken jack for headphones/microphone. I want to connect my combination of headset to use Skype, but like everything I've seen has separated mini jacks for headphones and microphone. If I plug the headphones there is no microphone, while if I plug the microphone as PC speakers are dumb there is no sound.

I discovered that if I plug or in, but go to the Panel of control-> Sound-> recording, Microphone click on properties-> listen-> listen to this device, and then the computer's microphone seems to be activated and his captured it out with the sounds of the PC speakers.

What is the best way to do things?

Your model of laptop has only one port, designed for the use of the Mono headset.
If you want to use usual helmet with two plugs I recommend you to use USB stereo Audio adapter.

Google a bit autour and you will find a large number of them. It's cheap, so I think it's the best solution for you.

  • ' Use ' in the line ' microphone jack

    Hello

I recently bought a new headset, eager to enjoy more of my sound. I chose a full-face helmet, with a microphone. What was my displeasure, when I plugged the headphones to my brow "listener" to hear the little beep. So I tried and plugged into my rear outlet works perfectly fine, but I don't have any input ha of MIC at the back, Panel, only a ' line in ' a. Does anyone have an idea how to do to set up the 'line' to make it work with my helmet?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi, Alois,.

    Please keep us updated.

Unfortunately, it is not possible (troubleshooting) "line-in" port to make it work with microphone given that the Assembly of the front (daughter Board) Panel and rear panel (motherboard) is different. In short, he cannot troubleshoot-done with orders that unfortunately, there is no such.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • How can I get my two headphone microphone jack to work with a single shot?

My 510 had two jacks, but my 520 has only one. I want to use the microphone on my headset... even if I can't use the headphone speakers at the same time. How can I get my laptop from the microphone to the microphone headset? The built-in function takes too much background noise.

    Thank you.

    Abigail

    Dear AbigailCW,

I'm afraid that it will not work. Two jacks, one of which was a standard on older PCs, serves as input and audio output microphone, in short, audio out, voice went in through your microphone. This has changed now because of recent trends and can be inconvenient for most users.

I solved this problem by buying a USB soundcard with these two entries, and it cost me about US $ 10. As its USB cards helps stimulate an additional gain so I better sound now than ever. May be worth it.

    Best regards.

  • Satellite Pro R850 - 18K - use of the combined headphone/microphone jack

This laptop has a combined microphone/headphone plug, but I couldn't find on the helmets of the market with 4 Cinch works correctly. I have some headphones mobile with 4-pole, but if I plug it into the laptop socket, both internal microphone. and the headset. stop working.
    According to manual it work!

On my previous Toshiba I used 2 catches headset (red/green sheets), but if I connect it to the Pro 850, micro internal. will not work.

Can someone recommend, what type of headphones, I need to take care to be compatible with the model R850?
    -USB connection should be good?
-the so-called plug 4 pole should work, if not cell phone accessory?

If someone has already solved this problem, please advice me. Thank you.

    George

    Hello

Yes, according to the user manual, you must use a 4-pin headset to get the headset working.
If you use any other prang 4 pin two mic (internal and external) would be disabled.

    > On my previous Toshiba I used 2 catches headset (red/green sheets), but if I connect it to the Pro 850, micro internal. will not work.

I guess this pin 2 pin will not work in this case because the laptop supports only one taken headset.
So, what do you think about using a 4 - Pin to 2 x 3-Pin 3.5 mm Headset Splitter Adapter like this:

    Hello

This issue of the fingerprint has been described in another thread.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=81261

You should be able to solve the problem installing the chipset driver.
Another user said, an installation of Proset Ethernet drivers/software was necessary to get the problem resolved. But to be honest that I put t think that missing Proset utility would cause the question

    However, check it out.

All the configuration looks OK. I don't see anny WARNING/message in the configuration settings.

But I hear via a USB headset via the USB.

    > In two configurations, I have no sound from the headphone/microphone jacks.

But that the sound from the speakers?

Theoretically, it could be possible that the headphone is faulty
Inside the headphone jack there is a little switch that switches between speakers and headphones.

  • Portege Z30 - I am unable to send SMS

I have a Portege Z30-A-13F. On the previous Portege, Ericcson device shipped, I used the Toshiba Wireless Manager and the SMS from Toshiba utility in access card for messages (SMS).

Currently, with the integrated chip of Sierra, I am able to access the network, but there is no interface for SMS on the AirCardWatcher tool.

The Wireless Manager does not work (I think it only works with Ericsson devices).
Is it possible to use the SMS with this computer?

    Thank you very much

AFAIK this is regardless if the laptop supports the Ericson or the Sierra 3 G module.

The Toshiba Wireless Manager should work fine in two modules.

Check this document... He explains how to set up and establish a 3G connection via the Manager preinstalled Toshiba wireless.

  • Inspiron 1525 not able to select the internal microphone for the webcam, or it appears on the Control Panel, sound, Audio devices

Initial problem was Dell Webcam video recording record any sound.

In the Panel configuration, Device Manager, sound video and game controllers, there are two high definition Audio devices listed: location 1 (internal Bus High Definition Audio) - I take it that it is the internal mic. and location 2 (Audio High Definition Bus Interior) - I take it that it is the external microphone jack. Both have the same version of the driver.

Control Panel, sound, the recordings tab showed 2 devices that looked like identical except the bars that show green with volume were only on the first, which is also the default and would detect sound if you're real close to the webcam microphone when you talk. The two devices displayed as 'work '.

Accessories, Sound Recorder records are silent any distance you get to internal webcam mic.

Dell WebCam Audio Source tab has two selections, the two reading Microphone (3 - high definition Audio Device). Both selections recorded the sound with the EXTERNAL microphone jack. There is no way to select the internal microphone webcam, it is not an option.

According to the instructions found on the web, I uninstalled the first device only in the Device Manager and rebooted. The same version of the same driver has been installed. But now the parameters have changed. Device Mgr shows Loc 1 and 2 pass. However, under the Øresund, tab records there are always 2 features, but the first said "currently unavailable", is always the default and the sound bars that go for green for the audio tests are ANOTHER unit now instead of the first. If you check the properties of each device, they BOTH show the same location 2 (inside Bus High Definition Audio), i.e. the external microphone jack.  Loc 1 device (built in mic) does not appear!

Accessories Sound Recorder works with the EXTERNAL microphone. (How does he know that one to use, it is not giving me a choice?)

If the tracking device 1 (internal microphone) does not appear anywhere besides than Device Manager. I want to use the internal microphone for Skype and webcam. Somehow, I need to get the Loc 1 unit appears on the sound - recording tab and in the Source Audio Webcam list? What should I do?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • With the help of jack of helmet on ban with X 230

    Hello

When I connect the headphones to Jack on the body of the laptop speakers are turned off and his past in headphones (and Windows (8 RTM) that detects correctly). But when I connect headphone jack on ban, speakers are turned off, but nothing comes out of the headphones (or Windows seems to detect changes).

No idea what to look for?

It turns out that by default when you fasten laptop ban she anime sound to DisplayPort. Without installation of Lenovo drivers for the graphics card and sound card, you cannot change to put its ban.

  • Unable to connect 2 external monitors via the Port Replicator using Portege Z30 - 16U

    Hi all

I need hell, I just moved from another laptop for Portege Z30 - 16U, I spent hours trying to connect my 2 external monitors to my Replicator Port Hi-Speed III 120W, but my laptop will see a monitor.

I used 2 external monitors with my laptop for years because I do a lot or reading and I don't want to use the one and the laptop screen.

I tried the mixture of a VGA and a HDMI and VGA cables, but nothing works.

Can anyone tell me how I can connect and discover 2 external monitors with this laptop and port replicator, I can't believe that this is not possible, it makes no sense that Toshiba would then technilogically behind other laptop manufacturers.

    Thank you

    Liga

    Hello

I'm not familiar with the Z30 Portreplicator, but the general behavior of the replicators of the double-displayconnector, is that 1 can be used.
    Not 2 simultaneously.

I could be wrong, and you should easily be able to check it out - use only 1 at a time.
    First, then the other.
If the two works when used alone, then my suspicion is right.

    I hope this helps!
