possibility to connect to different databases

in a blank worksheet in sqldeveloper - without having to explicitly chosen a db connection in the connections really really long laundry lists if one were to letter - / scroll down through all the entries to the nth instance of database desired - I was wondering if there is something of tweak / undocumented connect

1. as we do via cmdline sqlplus uname/pswd@siduname/pswd@sid

2 or a shortcut to say type connect and start typing a name of existing connections (with connection intelligent name env_user_sid) and/or worst case hit the key combo-magical ctr + space for suggestionlist and the hit then enter to connect to the desired db

3 or the ability to access the connection in the connection selection dialog box by typing all the connection string (and unlike existing functionality where once we start typing the name of the connection it navigates to this login name, starting with the last shot of keys)

Thank you.

The worksheet supports the CONNECT command.

Have you tried setting up connection files? You would be able to hide connections that are not of interest to you at the moment.

We have plans to improve the user experience when you use the drop-down list control new connection in the worksheet when you have many connections defined, so stay tuned.

Assuming that both machines are visible on the network, set up the listener (side db), tnsnames (db and side OBIEE), oracle client config will do for you, log on to OIC as you normally would.

Now, I would like to see if I can create a pool of connections to two different databases. If so, how that happen.

    Thank you!

    Hi Antonio,.

Cross database joins are possible, no problem for it. But you do not do so in an object of unique data base in the physical layer using 2 pools of connections connection to the source A and B, then adding objects to A and B children of your unique database.

You create 2 databases in the physical layer, each with its own connection pool, then you can do your knuckles crossed on the physical schema.

As a picture is worth a thousand words, take a look:

The physical diagram uses objects of A and B and define the rules of the join between them, it is a cross-database join. But in the physical layer of the database A and B are 2 separate objects each with its own pool of connections.

is it possible to connect 2 computers 2 different 1 modem wireless routers?

Why do you have 2 routers?

Depends on the design of the modem. It probably only supports a connection. So, you'll probably end up making a wired connection between modem and "1 router" and if you really need a second wireless router, install a wired connection between the 2 routers.

Nothing to do with the Muse at all. You have things backwards. If you use a dynamic interface, you work in the API hooks and predefined functions and that he don't just slap on an arbitrary HTML façade. It is simply not how it works.

Hmm, this isn't a bug or something but just a dcumented and behavior quite right. You connect using operating system authentication. You must have an oradba group or dba including your username o/s (Fortunately we bearing the name of Oracle) would be a part of. Let the user be on that group and try again, it won't work. You won't be able to connect.

  • Is it possible to connect Win 8, 8.1 language unique to the domain server.

Original title - Win 8, 8.1 single language...

    Dear team

It is possible to connect the victory 8, 8.1 language unique to the domain server or not.

If so please share me the details for the same thing...

    Hi Arnaud,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

A domain is a group of the PC network that share a common database and security policy. Computers can be on different LANs. A COMPUTER administrator runs the estate as a unit with rules and common procedures. One or several PCs on a domain's servers. Control of security servers and permissions for all computers on the domain. This makes it easier for an admin, IT changes because the changes are automatically made to all PC.

Windows Pro 8 and 8.1 of Windows Pro allows you to join a domain so that you can connect to your company or school network. PC running Windows 8.1 or 8.1 RT Windows cannot join a domain.

Domain users must provide a password or other information of connection whenever they have access to the field.

If you have a user account on a domain, you can connect to any PC on the field without needing an account on this PC. You can probably make only changes limited to a PC settings because IT admins often want to keep network PC compatible.

Feel free to post your request here on the Forums of Windows, we would be happy to help you.

  • Different databases with the same name in 1 cluster?

    Hello classmates of dba,.

I wish to discuss with you the following situation:

We have a 4 RAC Cluster node.

Databases node 1 and 2 contain the 11.2.0.3 (Enterprise Edition)

Databases node 3 and 4 contain 11.2.0.4 (Standard edition)

12.1 GI on all nodes and all are part of the 1 cluster.

OS: Oracle Linux 6.5 (with + ASM)

Our company wants to migrate databases EE 1 and 2 to 3 and 4 nodes node:

    -Downgrade of EA to itself

    -Upgrade 11.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.4

Normally I do this by creating databases with DBCA under a new name and migrate data using Data Pump.

The problem is that the company wants to have the same name of database on all nodes.

Is it possible to have the same name of database on all 4 nodes simultaneously (from 2 houses of Oracle RDBMS different with different versions while all 4 nodes share 1GI?

It is a method of support?

Let's see if I can describe it more in detail.

You have a database named ORCL in your RAC environment. Create a new blank database named SLAVE_PORT_NUM. Perform a dump of export of ORCL and import in SLAVE_PORT_NUM. At this point, you have the data in the new database. The original database to stop now:

srvctl stop database orcl immediate o d

ORCL is no longer running on all nodes. We just need to allow users to connect to this database with a service name. But before I can do, I need to remove the Cluster registry ORCL:

srvctl remove the d orcl database

Now create a service named ORCL that connects to SLAVE_PORT_NUM

    srvctl add service d slave_port_num s orcl r - newdb1, newdb2, newdb3, newdb4

Your application always tries to connect to "orcl" on this same group. They don't know the PB has changed its name.

When you change only the name of the service for the new database. I guess that the path of the ASM will have different name right?

It cares ASM. ASM paths come into play when you create the new db.

  • APEX on a database by using a different database security

I'm new to APEX so please forgive me if my question is elementary or if it crosses also ignoring.  My organization uses APEX for the first time and you are looking to fill a specific role.  I don't know if we want APEX can be done.

Here's what we want to do:

We want to create an app of the APEX on A database.

My APEX application will be used to modify database tables b.

Users have usernames, passwords and access set up on the basis of data B.

When users access the application of APEX, we want the application to use the database security B.  In other words, it connects using the IDs and passwords for database B.

    So:

I go to the application of the APEX

He invites me to the user ID, I enter one I use when I log on database B.

He asks me a password, I get the one I use with database ID B.

    I click OK.

Forms are loaded with the data accessible by my ID on the B database.

Changes on the forms and my user ID is marked as one making changes to database b lines.

In other words, I just want to use the database A to build and enhance the application.  Anyone can run the application, but they must connect using their database B ID and password to make changes.

    (1) is it possible?

    (2) how to configure in the application of the APEX?

Thanks for your help on this.

APEX does not work like that.

APEX is nothing more than a bunch of PL/SQL code that runs on the database, it is installed on and run the code as "pattern analysis".

Comment on "works on the basis of data"

If you want APEX to read data from a different database, you use a DATABASE LINK

for example to SELECT a report

    Select * from scott.emp@db2

I doubt that one of the assistants APEX you'll love.

    comment "works like «pattern analysis"»

If your application has an analysis of 'BOB' scheme... all SQL and PL/SQL code will run as BOB.

The "DB"account "security" is more a misnomer.  APEX only checks that the entered name and password match that of the database that it is installed on.

Once verified, APEX performs a 'switch user' for the 'scheme of analysis. "  (Authentication of proxy in Oracle)

That's how web applications work... they use a shared schema.

    WORK AROUND

Connect to the APEX by ADR, no EPG.  Will prevent it people to access the database directly.

The next thing that you need is a SCHEME of ANALYSIS dedicated to the execution of SQL and PL/SQL.

As any other database USER, it shouldn't be the same schema as the schema that contains all of your data. (Analysis schema! = data schema)

Personally, I like to my 'space work [schema]' separated also.

You will most likely need to use a database of private virtual control data access.

    Required Code changes

If none of your code using the username 'USER' column, you need to change to COALESCE (V ('APP_USER'), USER)

(I prefer to COALESCE on NVL because I anticipate different infrastructure that works similar to APEX)

    Hi Mathieu,

Thanks for the comments. I just got an update of Oracle on the SR with a few more instructions on different things to try/run.

I met problems with Weblogic in step 1 and could not understand the multitude of possible causes. After some googling I found others who has ended up just restart that did the trick. It worked for me as well as far as I can see now. I'll do some tests to check, but well.

    Thank you

  • ViewObject/Application module with 2 different databases-* URGENT *.

    Hi all
I need to get the data of two databases for reading different oracle single table in a jspx page.
It is possible to obtain these data using a single VO and his application module.

If this is not the case, what is the way to go about such a scenario. How can I say VO to get data of different databases.

Both are oracle db, but on different machines, different credentials.

    Thank you very much
    Amit

No, it is also not possible. However, you can have two modules different app pointing to different databases. EOs / your inside a an appmodule will only be the connection that a single database.
