Can I set up a second drive C: XP on my PC

I have a laptop HP OEM XP Home Edition on drive C: has become crowded over the years. The system is rather slow due to debris left by the programs that I have tried and discarded and who have not uninstalled as cleanly as they should. I changed the hard drive for a long time for a bigger and left little space on the new drive unallocated. I have all original OEM installation disks.

Can I install a second instance of the operating system on a partition? Would breach any condition of licence? It would create problems with two copies of XP Home Edition with the same key on the same machine?

My intention is to put in place a new C: drive cleaner, and I suspect that it could take several weeks to install all the software and configure it. In the meantime, I will continue to use the existing C: drive to do real work until the new is ready.

Hello Grangeland,

Would breach any condition of licence?

Yes.  An installation and activation at the same time on a single computer at a time.  If an OEM license, it's good on the original computer.

  • How can I set a few seconds from the beach to the specific level of db?

Hi all, I'm new to this software,

I want to know how can I put a few seconds from the beach to the specific level of db?

For example, I just want the maximum dB higher and the low dB to be only 3.

    the sound is more concentrated.

    How can I do?

Ah, you mean compression. There are several tools in hearing that, and one to use depends on the source material. If it is spoken word, then you can use dynamic processing tool (the original), the single band compressor or, possibly, the leveller speech volume to achieve this goal. If it's music, then the multiband compressor is rather sweet.

But with each of them, there is something important, you should firstly to your track, and it is to normalize it to 0 dB using Effects > Amplitude and Compression > Normalize. You should do this because all compressor settings are associated with a full range signal (i.e., 0 dB) to treat. If you do not do this, none of the controls will make sense. On your screen that you've expanded the display to make it much larger than it should be, then you might want to get back to normal, otherwise you will not see clearly what is happening. Hearing can artificially display any amplitude of the signal at all, due to floating-point processing system internal use, but in the real world, the audio device cannot handle more than 0 dB, please make sure that the signals exceed this.

  • Windows 7 can be set on a second computer when uninstalled on the first computer

buy a windows 7 Home premium update on ebay but recently discovered that it was installed on his computer, but he says it uninstalled and it should work.

First of all, buy used windows is kind of a bad idea, you have no guarantee that the person will actually uninstall it.

Secondly, Yes, if windows has been uninstalled from a computer, so it can be put on another with the key used on the 1st. A single computer can use a key at the same time, so if you use and the person who that you bought na not uninstall, then he would not accept the key. Or it could, but we would say that windows is not genuine.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

It would be better to just buy a new copy of windows from a store, instead of opportunity on ebay.

  • How can I dual boot two different drives on SATA XP

I hope this is the right Forum, if not please you could direct me in the right direction.

I have two SATA drives, each with versions of work in XP SP3.

C: drive is my installation used, normal most of the time with a lot of programs installed and uninstalled, usually a normal installation that is several years old WORKS most of the time. It contains also some legacy programs that work most of the time, but seem to have a few problems with other unknown parameters, that I have not been able to solve.

Drive d :) is a new installation of XP with only these programs I have problems with installed and they work fine.

Currently, if I want to run the XP installation cleaning, I have to unplug the drive c and override it physically with drive D:

What I want to do is to have the choice at the start of what XP installation to run.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Tom,

Sorry for the delay in replying, was a lot.

I tried your second suggestion on the use of the default Windows boot loader and it works a treat! I can now boot from my second drive without disassembling on the side of my computer.

Thanks a lot for your help.

  • Pavilion a6500f: can I use my old hard drive as a second drive to the new I install.

I have a Pavilion a6500f I can access is no longer as he continues to tell me there are registry errors.  My recovery disk (I got a) or do a hard reset or else he will start.  It came with a window that says recovery system or start Windows normally.  I get a new hard drive to it and have a whole new Windows 7 installed.  The thing is that I don't want to lose all my stuff on the old hard drive.  So my question is can I install the OLD hard drive as a second drive to the new?  If I can then I can just copy all the files from the old drive to the new and use the old as a memory drive.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    The simple answer is Yes.

    (1) I would like to replace the hard drive with the same drive size or larger. But does not exceed 2 T.

    (2) I hope you made the original recovery DVD set the original recovery firstly, DVD media DVD + R try as these will save you having to create a driver disk.  If you really have to buy a complete set of recovery, get it here. It will have all the necessary drivers.  Only $27.00

    (3) I copy the files and destroy the old disk. Its usefulness is damaged since 2008.

  • Setting up the second hard drive preinstalled

I have a Pavilion m9250f equipped of Windows Vista 64-bit with two 500 GB hard drives.  The first hard disk is almost at capacity (available 15%), and I want to know how to set up the second disc for use.

    Hello

The SATA controller mode setting is in the bios. F10 will get you into the bios. Back up your data before attempting to make any changes.  If you use the RAID mode then then you will need to enter the Intel RAID CTRL + I utility at startup to disable the parring.  RAID 1 is extra protection in case you have a hard drive failure.  If you disable the RAID 1 parring so be sure to perform backups at a frequency you can live if you experience a hard drive failure.  When the RAID 1 parring is disabled, then the second hard drive will be available for data storage (more than 500GB).  If get you there, then you can do a quick format on the second hard drive.  Now you should be able to move the folders you want to the second hard drive.

  • Can I add a second drive to an edition four dv7t-7000?

The HP parts store said on a drive has been supported, but configuration options have shown

    several configuration with two drives.

I had hoped that I could add a caddy and power/bus connector from the parts store.

Only, I have configured the machine with a drive and add a second drive (from my dv7 dead 3085 dx).

The machine is supposed to arrive June 18

    Thanks for the ideas...

    Jerry

The answer is a qualified Yes.

The kit suitable for the dv7t-7000 is ' 681976-001.  This kit comes with the

Caddy and a power/bus short and long cable. It also has some screws

the disk drive on the caddy.

It contains also the 2 screws M2.5xL4 which will be attached the main drive caddy to the

the computer chassis, but there is no screws to attach the second drive caddy to

    the framework.

    the recommended screws are 2.5 M x 9 L.

I picked up two 2.5 M x 8L live in ACE hardware work fine.

  • How can I set up to dual boot Windows 7 and XP on 2 separate drives?

I have a new hard drive and a new DVD Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit upgrade. I want to keep my old hard drive with the ability to work under XP. Can I just install my new drive in any open slot, and then start from my DVD? I'll be able to start on the player of my choice? How does with the marking of the readers? And it defaults to Windows 7 whenever I start my computer? How I will be when you start the disk with XP?

    Hi ohyanet:

Since you are using a version of 'Upgrade' of Win7 it will assume the license of the prior XP operating system and the Microsoft EULA says that you can no longer use your XP operating system on any computer.  To dual boot with XP'd you need to buy a version "full" of Win7, not an upgrade.  When you install Win7 it will make a copy of XP called Windows.old in your drive (C :) and you can copy the files from it to your new O.S. of Win7, but you will need to re - install all the applications from the original media.)

  • How can I set the default folders to the drive working?

So it should automatically record audio previews and video to one of my disks SSD and not on the same hard disk where my project.

It's pretty boring change the location of the current 'default' whenever I start a new project...

I can't find the menu for these parameters?

Thanks for any help in advance!
