Possible corruption ASM or issue of false statements?

Hi people,

I get conflicting information when I ask the view v asm_disk $. The header for all 114 disks status should be 'Member '. But, with the exception of three discs, all other disks appear as "candidates"?

There are no errors in the RDBMS or alert newspapers ASM.

The database works very well for the moment.

Everyone knows that gap? Is this a case of corruption of disk header? or simple misrepresentation? And more importantly, how can I solve the problem?

Here are the details

O / S: AIX 5.3.12.1

You must mark this thread as answered because I think that you should really work with Oracle support on this point. You shouldn't use free links provided on the internet. Culd corrupt you your disks completely.

  • olecnv32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not have the calculated checksum

When I tried to start the desktop computer with Windows XP operating system, I get the message "olecnv.dll is possibly corrupt. ' the checksum of header not the checksum calculated. the screen will not forward.

Please advise to Prime the system.

    Udaya

If the olecnv32.dll file is corrupted, you will see an error like this:

    STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum}
Olecnv32.dll image is possibly corrupt.  The header checksum does not match the checksum calculated.

Curiously, if the file is completely absent or has a length of zero byte XP will start just fine without it.

Given that it is one of 3498 files Windows File Protection deals with, it must be another copy of the file on your system is the dllcache folder.

As Wunders says you can make a Hiren boot CD and Mini XP mode, see if you can find a copy of the file in one of these folders (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive):

    c:windows\system32\dllcache
    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

If you can find a copy, rename your a suspect and replace it with the copy and see what things look like.

If you can't find a copy, there is one on my SkyDrive, you can download and network disks to the system afflicted by using a Flash DRIVE or a floppy disk.  You should always use Hiren for this method.

If that all sounds complicated to and you do not have a genuine XP installation CD bootable from where you can start in the XP Recovery Console, you can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and see if you can replace the file from there to the replace.  I can send you instructions if you need to know how to do this.

I hear Support Engineer "experts" hired by Microsoft, which suggests that you run sfc/scannow to replace the file missing, but that won't work because this is what sfc/scannow does, this isn't how it works and it's not what it is for.  I know that it does not replace the file because I tried.

If you need to download the file, here's how:

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called olecnv32 when the name of the file should really be called olecnv32.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

  • STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum}. The image rpcrt.dll is possibly corrupt and recovery XP says error during the extraction process. Details of error: path not found___

My friend turned on their laptop packard Bell recently and had the following problem. Windows XP screen loads but is then followed by a blue screen that says STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum}. The image rpcrt.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the checksum calculated.

I can't the laptop to go further. I have accessed the Microsoft recovery Panel and try a non-destructive recovery as there are some precious photos that need backup. However, when you select 'no profile' to begin the recovery, I get the message:

Error during the extraction process. Details of error: path not found

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this sort of thing, but if someone can provide step by step help giving rise to lose photos, I'd be willing to give it a try. I also have XP Home Edition disk that came with the laptop but has never been opened. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

You hear your message said something about rpcrt4.dll?  It is important to relay the exact message you see.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

You use some CD to access this Panel of Microsoft recovery where this "no profile" option is?  I don't know what all this means if it isn't some CD shipped with your system, in which case, I would use it for a coaster instead of something to fix your system.

If the c:\windows\system32\rpcrt4.dll file is missing or afflicted, you do not start in the last good known Configuration.

You also will not start in any kind of Mode safe no more.

Even if you could boot mode safe, you would find that sfc/scannow does not work in Mode without failure in all cases (never).  If you try it, you'll see a message like this:

Windows file protection could not initiate a scan of protected system files.

The specific error code is 0x000006ba [the RPC server is unavailable.].

Failed to start the RPC mode server safe either.

I can't recreate your error exactly, but it is easy to replace the rpcrt4.dll file.  Looks like you have a working CD drive, so put yourself a Hiren boot CD and when you started on this, you can copy your precious files to a USB device for safety.

There should be a backup copy of rpcrt4.dll already on your system, here or here:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

You need to rename or replace the rpcrt4.dll file which is in c:\windows\system32 and replace it with one you will find the backup copies.

There should be a backup copy of rpcrt4.dll already on your system, here or here:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

When you get the Hiren's CD's, you can use to replace the missing or suspicious file.  If you need help with that, first get the Hiren's boot CD made and start over, then we can continue.

Do you have a Hiren BootCD you can download here:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.NET/

On the left, click on download, scroll down, choose the latest version, the download link is a little hard to see.  It is at the bottom of the page, above the drop for older versions and looks like this (click this component to download the ZIP file):

Direct HTTP mirror + Torrent, Torrent Magnet

Click the "Live HTTP Mirror" link to start the download and save the ZIP file on your desktop of somewhere that you can remember.

The ZIP file is large, so the download will take probably some time to complete.  Then unzip the download to extract the Hirens.BootCD.ISO file that will be used to create your new bootable CD.

Create a bootable CD. ISO file is not the same as simply copying the. File ISO onto a blank CD.  You must use software that includes how to burn a. ISO to a CD to create a bootable CD.

File ZIP the Hiren is the file BurnToCD.cmd that you can double-click to launch it.  The BurnToCD.cmd will use the file BurnCDCC.exe to burn the. ISO file onto a blank CD using your existing CD burner.  You can also use your own burning software as long as your software is able to create a bootable CD. ISO file.  More modern burning programs can create a bootable CD. ISO image.  Create a CD from an ISO image bootable is not the same as just the file on a CD burning.

If you need a simple and CD burning, this is a free software popular software:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your new bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.

These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When starting on the Hiren's CD, you will see a menu of options.  Choose Mini XP.  It will appear while Windows is loading and you will be presented with a desktop computer that has the look and feel of the interface of Windows Explorer, you are already accustomed to using.

Using the Mini XP, you can access Internet, maneuvering around your system, search for files, copy files, replace the files and run the scans for malware, edit the text files (like the c:\boot.ini) etc.

There are dozens of free and useful tools included in the CD that can be used to repair your system or copy your important personal files on another device (like a USB device or an external drive) in the case where you just give up and decide to reinstall your XP (I hope that you will not make this decision)

    Hey James,.

Another detail, that I forgot to add is that it does not get insofar as a logo windows before it fails, just the toshiba start screen, then either passes the corrupt message checksum or a blue screen and restarts before I can read the text on the blue screen. Thanks for your response! Any additional help would be excellent if you can. In the meantime, I'll try your methods. Thanks again

  • Another chart update rate issue (using a state machine)

    Hi all!

I'm develiping a pilot for a new instrument.  I have the basics of work based on the vi tree tutorial.  Now, I'm creating a basic example.  I started by watching a tutorial of State machine (a soda dispenser).  I have 3 States, basically init/reading data/check buttons & writing. Everything works great, reading and display of data. I would now like to add a chart for one of the data (SAP in this case).  Try to implement the method using the loop counter.  Loop cycles at 100 ms for now updating in 5 seconds (later must be user input).

So basically, I have a simple state machine that updates the values on the screen in a certain State.  I need these data at the top level for trace or possibly turning most of these (less graphic) in a self-contained vi.

Anyway, I have a Boolean LED in the main loop that flashes every 5 seconds. So far so good.  Except that the graph updates apparently at random?  Put the prog in sleep mode and I have seen the updated table when the data has been read (inside the red box). He has every time.  I'm just creating a local variable inside the red zone...  I see sporadic updates in the charts, maybe 5-10 updates every 5 seconds.  What Miss me?  If I change the iterations of the loop to a faster number (e.g. 10 ms) graph updates like crazy (although the CASE is false).

    Hi Steven8R,

The chart will update any update a fact local variable refers to the table.  If the chart should be updated each time the code in red box runs.

The code you have in the structure of the business is not doing anything.  It's just whatever data, the graph contains the reading and writing in itself.

Something you might try to do instead is wiring the output of the amp VI get directly to the table AMPS inside the 5 second delay of the case structure.  This will update the chart as the most recent data point every 5 seconds.  Is that what you want?

    Best,

  • 10.9 corruption of finder issue

    Hello

I have something corrupted in my Finder settings. It is better understood by watching this video:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ed86hrttjt0xzey/Finder%20behaviour%20smaller.m4v?DL=0

A new window appears without any content, then move this window made all kinds of weird stuff in the window instead of files. All other applications are fine, save/open boxes are fine.

I have: has crushed the finder, removed preferences, restarted, all to nothing does not. I know it must be something corrupt in my library, somewhere, as the finder behaves itself in other usernames. I really wanted to do an archive and install in case where that just keep all the problem, and I don't trust a clean installation for a relatively small issue.

Obviously, I need to replace or remove something, but I don't know what. Does anyone know what I need to do please?

    Thanks in advance.

This looks more like a graphical corruption problem, to my eyes.

Could be a problem of chip (GPU) graphics.

The internal heat of the iMac can cause all sorts of problems of component and failure over a period of time.

You doing anything to compensate for the heat inside your iMac?

As a control software fan to speed up the internal fans?

Or run a small desk fan behind the iMac to reduce the internal temperature of the iMac?

This could help to alleviate this problem, if the GPU has not, again, was permanently damaged.

  • Controlfile on ASM performance issue

See the Controlfile Enqueue performance tips, review are to go the separator control file diskgroup(need outage)? or add a disc (different LUN, (I prefer this approach) in the same disk group, seems to slow down disc boxes for that matter...)

2nd question: snapshot controlfile can be placed on the storage of the ASM?

    The following can help:
-Separate control to an another diskgroup file can make things even worse in case that the total number of discs is not in the new disk group.
-Those who control claim file questions are usually nothing to do with storage throughput you have, but the number of operations that require different levels of exclusion on the control files.
-Given that several copies of controlfiles are updated at the same time a possible, sometimes, it's the secondary copy of controlfile is slower than the other. Please check that this is not the question (different storage levels can cause such problems)
