PostScript versions

Can someone tell me what the difference between postscript ver 4.02 p/n C3198-60151 and worm 8,01 SIMM p/n C4723-60003? The VER 8.01 of the refurbished plotter does not work and gives a message not enough memory but the VER 4.02 works.

My research shows that fleas C4723-60003 was used in the series of cp3000 designjet. In fact this designjet is a C4723A model number. C3198-60151 was the chip used in the designjet 755CM. Again the designjet 755CM model number is C3198A. It would seem that the incorrect ROM chip has been installed in the printer that you got. Sometimes boot ROM and postscript are combined on the same circuit and chip you got with the printer was not designed for your plotter.

Printer Laserjet 4 M drivers (and many others) is actually available through the Windows Update process.  Try the following: go to the Printers folder, select Add a printer, select the appropriate port, and then when the dialog box "Has chosen a printer model" appears, select "Windows Update".  It will take a few minutes to download the new drivers available, have patience in this step we can believe the application is blocked, but it takes a while.  When the list reappears select HP as the manufacturer, there will be four choices or more printers Laserjet 4 / 4 M driver including 300 and 600 dpi of the Postscript versions.

  • Cannot use manual feed, cannot print until reboot

Recent computer replacement, went from XP to Windows 7.  Same old Laser Jet 4000 since 1998, however.  It still doesn't seem to get along with Windows 7.  It is installed with only a local connection (there is no ethernet connection available at the back of the printer.)  Windows detects that it's here, acts as it should work.  Installed by plug & play, driver told me a USB printing Support has been installed, & name of the HP LaserJet 4000 Series PCL 5 driver.  My printer serial number is USMB290030.  With XP, when I wanted to use the manual feed printer to print on envelopes & letterhead, the option was always there through the Properties menu of the printer.  Now, the option feeder manual seems to be there for printing envelopes (Microsoft Word), but not for printing format letter.

Oh, Yes, and it does not print anything until I restart.  I tried doctors convenience stores/printing HP and Microsoft.  Search in the forums, search the Web General, tried to unplug the USB and re - connect the new computer.  The HP scan doctor said that print USB media is not installed, even if installs it plug-and-play.  The HP Scan Doctor sent me to a generic website for downloads get USB print media, and I can't find a USB print media when searching for it.  Get current on all Windows updates.  HP told me to get the driver through Windows Update when I try to get (or update) through their website.

TI guys said maybe it's because it's USB & connector cable is the old sign in parallel at the end of the printer & USB PC and the old printer side is faced with USB, but his computer is Windows 7 for a long time and there the same printer model (in fact, we have 6 of these 4000 series to the office & the rest seems to work.)  We have also recently updated our network from Server 2003 to Server 2008...

  • LaserJet 400 M401dw: 10 Windows driver for LaserJet 400 M401dw

Recently upgraded from Win 7 to 10 to win on my HP netbook.  Get the message to Win, stating that my printer driver is out of date, but Windows is unable to download the new version.  Went to the HP website to find and there are three listed.  I don't know which is the right one for my printer.  They are:

1 HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit)

2 HP Universal Print Driver for Windows Postscript (64-bit)

3 HP Universal Print Driver for Windows (64-bit) PCL5.

Plase advise which of them, I need to download and install.

    Thank you!

I think the old driver was a PCL version.  However, given that I print a large number of PDF files, I'll try the PostScript version this time.  Thanks for the quick and complete answer!

  • m252dw: postscript print file

How to print a postscript or pdf directly from windows file.

I can copy the files on a USB and put it in the printer, and it works.

The printer is connected by wifi.

I could use "copy file.ps to \\server\share", if I knew the names \\server\share.

I know the IP for 192.168.1.9 if that helps.

I expect to be able to click with the right button on the file and then use "send to" the printer.

For the pdf files I could use acrobat, but I expect that try to convert their pcl6 and sometimes fails.

I tried to postscript ghostscript files, but who loses a lot of quality when it converts the.

If the PostScript and PDF files are a level that the printer can handle directly (via PostScript or DirectPDF interpreter, the case may be), then:

    • You can use the "lpr" command to send the contents of the files direct to the answering machine port 515 in the printer.
    • To allow the command "lpr" (for example in a session command prompt Windows), you may need to enable Windows features optional; It would be for Windows 10, printing and scanning. LPR Port Monitor.

To make it available through the 'SendTo' from the file Explorer context menu Windows, etc:

    • Create a folder to contain the scripts of SendTo.
    • In this case, set up a .bat file (called, for example, copy_m252.bat) containing an appropriate command lpr . for example:
    lpr -S 192.168.1.9 -P any %1

    • Set up a shortcut to this file and add this to the SendTo menu; How it is too detailed for me to add here, but there are a lot of web pages describing how do (it may vary depending on the version of Windows); Here for example, Microsoft article kb141017
    • Repeat for other destinations.

  • How do I print Postscript under Windows 7 file?

How can I include the attribute/option Print according to scripts files? In previous versions of windows when you are far away home or office, I printed the documents, etc.; to "print-to-file" and simply print the PostScript, in range of the relevant printer, for help. "Right-click right/print". In windows 7, printing option not available for *.PS files?

For anyone stuck on how to print a file .ps, here is an "old school" method that still works in Windows 7.

Find the name of the Postscript printer.  Printers on network of the \\servername\printername form works perfectly.

Open a command prompt window and CD to the directory where the .ps file.

Finally, use the command COPY to copy the file to the printer, for example

    COPY file.ps \\servername\printername

  • Convert Pagemaker 7.0 files to PDF and cannot do without a PostScript for Windows 7 64 bit printer driver.

I am trying to convert Pagemaker 7.0 files to PDF and cannot do without a PostScript printer driver.

The driver on the PM installation disc will not install.

The driver is available on the Adobe Web site will not be installed.

HP support cannot help me. They directed me to Adobe.

Adobe technical support is no help at all unless I want to pay $140.00 to use the software that I have already purchased from them.

Where and how can I get a PostScript printer driver for my Windows 7 64 bit computer?

I'm under 64-bit Windows 8. There are a few options:

    1. in my case, I use Adobe Creative Suite CS3 as well. It comes with Adobe Acrobat 8.0, which must be upgraded to version 8.1.3 or about 64-bit support. This, however, works OK with PageMaker 7.0.

    2. There is a method using a printer driver called "imagesetter MS Publisher' which is actually Postscript and will do the job. You will need to do some research on it: I remember using this method when installing PM 7.0 under the preview release. I also noticed that there is a 'PS Microsoft class driver"Windows 8. Maybe it's worth a try.

    3. try a third free PDF writer. I have recommended Nitro Reader for some customers.

I keep only PageMaker to open the old client files, and anything but trivial changes, I migrate files to InDesign (which opens the MP files date back as far as PM6). You can be a better buy InDesign (if only an older version) and do the same thing - it is a much better program and PM is blowing out of the water.

  • Paste the symbol of Open Type fonts in postscript text

    Hello

I use a very old time police and paste into the regular times new Roman euro symbol in the text box. I would use the Open Type Times New Roman for the entire document, but reflow problems are large. My question, can I just after this symbol of the Times New Roman text with text Postscript euro and create my print ready PDF or this would create problems?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Two days on a 400-page document.

    Bill

    Bill,

I guess you mean by postscript (sic) fonts Times a police Type 1 of the times family.

Yes, there is a huge potential for the reflow of text by performing a replacement basically a same time with Times New Roman reference, although this is not necessarily something to do with the original font was a Type 1 font and the new font OpenType. For example, if your original font was version Adobe Type 1 time and you were replaced by the version Adobe OpenType in the same font, LT times, it is very unlikely that you would see much if any redistribution at all.

But to answer your direct question, if you simply used the symbol of the Roman Euro again within strings of text formatted in addition at the time, you should have no problem, at least with Adobe applications (including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, FrameMaker, and Acrobat) or in PDF files in general.

  • Record in the legacy version 8 EPS flattens strokes layers and outlines

You would save in Illustrator 8 EPS for compatibility on a digital cutter/router.

Back story: I used this workflow for more than 6 years, then all of a sudden, something has changed.  I do not save the script.

Things I did to try to remedy:

    1. Restart
    2. Repair permissions in disk utility (Mac) - personally don't think that it does nothing, but well, it has been suggested.
    3. Adobe Cloud update
    4. Illustrator update
    5. OSX update
    6. Cut and paste the elements into the new document
    7. Support Adobe and receipt response "he gives a warning when recording."

I'm leaning towards the side that he is a sort of problem caused either by a corrupt, corrupt police EPS / postscript error, or combination of people and a weekend server updated.  Working with HER on this subject.

Here is a link to download two different files.  The PDF is the source file. It essentially presents requirements for the cutter/router - specifically, the designation of the layer.  The other file, EPS shows what happens when I take the PDF file and save in Illustrator 8 EPS.  Note the features are now exposed and flattened layers.

    link: https://file.ac/umoe0V83Khk/

Curious to see if others are experiencing similar results with this file and save the legacy.  Let me know.

PSE contains a bad operand and I don't see any objects inside.

Your source file has some groups with 99% opacity. This will cause the transparency flattening when saving EPS (any version), because the EPS cannot have transparency. Then the strokes can be highlighted.

Set the opacity and that should cure I guess.

  • I get an error invalidfileaccess when distilling an Adobe Distiller XI postscript file

Here's the log after the failure of the attempt:

    Battery:

    (XSFT01.img)

    / Who cares

%% [Flushing: rest of job (end of file) will be ignored] %%.

%% [Warning: PostScript error.] No PDF file produced. ] %%

Same postscript file distilled very well in earlier versions, so I think it has to do with the latest version of Adobe.  Tried the parameter f without success.  Few postscript files are working very well.

I also notes that, according to the documentation, the TEMP folder is writable. Maybe if you set TEMP under the current folder in the shortcut, and execute a file from there, it will work. Clear your error it tries to write a 'XSFT01.img' file in the current folder.

    Worth a try.

  • Issue of license on the version of the police - Antique Olive

    Hello

One of our business partners use a black 'Antique Olive' font in his file.  He told me that the police is Adobe.  I can only find 'Antique Olive Std Black' in the fonts Adobe store.  I bought and installed on our machine.  However, when I open the file, "the police is missing' WARNING still appears.

According to compare policies, it seems the 2 fonts is the same, but different version.  "Ancient Olive Black" seems to be the old font version.  As I purchase the license 'Antique Olive Std Black', can I install and use fonts of the 'Antique Olive black' version without licensing issue?

    Untitled.jpg

    Kind regards

    Stanley

Sounds like the paper uses the older format PostScript Type 1, the police, which can be found here Adobe - fonts: black Antique Olive®

To allow this font you'd have to buy the family pass Adobe - fonts: Antique Olive 1 and decide if you need the Windows or Mac version.

Std version you purchased is the new police OpenType format. Adobe - fonts: Antique Olive® Std Black

My suggestion is to change the font used by the document for the Std version. This may cause some reformatting of the text, but this is by far the more long term solution. The PostScript Type 1 font format is very old and has been deprecated by the last major operating systems for the OpenType format.

  • Acrobat go back to the previous version at the end of the XI free trial period if I buy it?

What happens to my existing version of Acrobat (acrobat X) standard if I install the trial version of XI at the end of the 30 days trial period?  She was destroyed by the installation of XI?  Or he revert just (in case I decide to buy).

Advice of John Waller is absolutely not recommended or approved by Adobe in any kind whatsoever.

You can't have that one version of Acrobat is correctly and fully installed at the same time. If you install Acrobat 11 without letting the installer uninstall Acrobat 10, you end up with a version of the instance of printer driver PostScript AdobePDF as well as the PDFMakers for the Office of the substitution of what you have installed Acrobat 10. There are many problems known/conflicts involved with trying to maintain parallel installations of two versions of Acrobat on the same system! And if you want to uninstall Acrobat 11 and have Acrobat 10 jobs, you may be very disappointed. Therefore, by default, the Acrobat installer allows to uninstall older versions of Acrobat on your system before installing the new version.

If you really want to try 11 Acrobat (actually, wait a few hours and you can try Acrobat DC 2015; Acrobat 11 will have disappeared), ensuring that you have a copy of the serial number of your installation of Acrobat 10, install the trial version of the new software, which allows him to uninstall the old. If you do not want to put the new licensed software, uninstall it completely and totally reinstall Acrobat 10 using Acrobat 10 serial number that you have saved.
