Power failure/loose Power Bar power cord
I want to run a few questions in front of the members of the forum:
Last week, my power bar power cord became loose and off the bar, which stops the computer and the monitor. The monitor has a power button function.
Before that other devices in the power bar are turned off and unplugged, until the power bar is turned off, until the power is reconnected, until the power bar is turned off, before other devices are plugged in, and before that the devices are suppressed:
1. in the event that the computer and the monitor will turn off (as they were in the position 'On' when they stop unexpectedly) "or" there is no 'Off' option either on the computer, the monitor, or both devices so that they can be disconnected and reconnected since they will be in the position "Off"?
2. If the computer and the monitor are 'On' when they turn off automatically during a power failure, can they be left alone without the risk of a wave when the power is restored, OR is there a risk of a surge?
b. is there "is" a risk of a surge because they are still in position "On", should they be disabled (or they are already in the "Off" position?) unplugged and should bar be off and unplugged then until the power is restored?
3. in fact, during a blackout, should all appliances be turned off and disconnected, so there is no risk of a circuit breaker of the circuit limit, causing a power surge, or if all appliances can remain plugged in and left in their respective "On / Off" position since before the failure?
Hello
Sorry for the late reply.
It is advisable to have the power with a surge protector bar in areas where the power failure and the cutting power is often or generally just to ensure the security of your system and in particular data. If in your region, power failure, power failure is rare, so you can avoid surge protector.
Hope, I could answer your query. Feel free to post on the forum if you have any concerns more associated with Windows. We will be happy to help you.
Kind regards

I have a hp w2338h monitor, running Windows 7 and I am unable to turn off the monitor through the top switch. The power cord seems loose in its connection to the monitor. Do I just a new cord or something else is necessary?
Thank you.
Hello
Try to push the power cord firmly upward. It should not move when it is completely inserted.
Try a reset of the monitor. Unplug the power cord from the monitor and hold the power button of the monitor for 30 to 60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in and it lights up.

Portege M200 - connection loose in the power cord
Hello
After almost 5 years of intensive use (this is the 3rd battery which is currently begging for replacement...) my M200 still works fine - great device!
However, the power cord has a bad connection for a few weeks now. The problem is located next to the DC plug. So, whenever I connect the M200 to food, I need to turn and bend the cable in order to reactivate the charge current. Friend of mine, a 2004 purchased another M200, exactly the same problem.
Problem: The power cord is fixed on the transformer, and a new Toshiba 15V power is quite expensive (if you manage to find one, anyway...). Is there a solution to fix the cable (or get a replacement cable / repair kit) rather than buy a new power supply?
Thank you!
Florian
Hi mate,
AFAIK there is no repair kit for this problem. You must buy a new Toshiba AC/DC adapter because a cable can t be repaired.
I know it's so cheap, but maybe you can get another compatible adapter AC/DC to an authorized service provider. Many AC adapters are compatible to different notebooks, so maybe a cheaper is available.
Here you can search for an ASP to give them a call:

Pavilion DV2000 power cord failure
I went through several power cords for my laptop Pavilion DV2000Z. A couple of them felt like they have overheated. The biggest problem has been that they fail to power the laptop. I do all connections, no power. I find that I need to move the connections and/or by shaking the whole string in order to get the cord in just the right position it will provide power.
A little while ago, I heard a cracking sound, like electric sparks. I looked down to the power supply cord and smelled burning plastic. I have one plugged in the power cord, waited a few moments and it reconnected. I found when I waved the portion of the rope connecting the output to the control area of power that I continued to hear the Crackle.
The technician gave me a link to find a center of HP in my service, and with a search of 900 miles, there is nothing here. I told them this, and now they have me call the helpline... wish me good luck with that. * Rolleyes *.
I had a few other problems with this computer that have been resolved quickly and effectively, but this problem of power cord is endless, and it seems that all my replacements have been rehabilitated. It is the first HP laptop, I bought and the last... my next will be a Lenovo/ThinkPad.
Anyway, if anyone has experienced this problem, and if so, were you able to get a power adapter that seems as if it will actually last as long as the computer is? Any suggestions? Thank you!
Let me know!
I ordered their client of this site. Click here. Not bad for $4.

11 #ABA K2L95UA flow: power cord in bulk
My flow is 9 months old. I noticed that the power cord has a lot of movement where it plugs into the notebood. I'm afraid the connection inside the laptop may fatigue and either bypass or fail to connect.
I was very careful with the connection and the laptop has never been dropped or jerjed by the power of the cord.
How I have this problem still under warranty?
Connect with HP Services to repair the loose connector. Click on "Contact HP" link below...
Kind regards

Equium L40-156 - power cord melted!
My daughter just called me in a panic that his Toshiba laptop power cord started smoking and melted!
The laptop is about 2 years old.Does anyone else have this problem that I wonder? do you think it is safe to use with just the battery? Don't know what to do about it - any advice would be welcomed!
Thank you
I would not use the laptop, the power failure may have damaged components of the laptop.
You have to send the laptop adapter + cable to a service provider authorized to ensure its all working properly.

I have a Dell all in one that is about 4 years old. The other day I started up and used for a bit. I left to go eat and when I came back the computer was off. I tried to push the power supply, check the power strip and made sure everything is properly connected. No change. I noticed that the ring of blue light around the power supply is turned off, so I unplugged the computer and the power strip. Plugged in the power band and the light is on. Fantastic, until what I plugged it into the computer where it was released. I tried some other power cords (same size, etc.) and that they would also have slight shift when connected to the computer. What can I do to fix this?
Best to remove your serial number. You have an Inspiron One 2020
The motherboard can be stop due to internal failure.
Card converter or another motherboard problem.

If the culprit could be your power supply internal or internal 3V CR2032 lithium cell battery. To remove and replace the coin cell battery is fairly intensive.

Is the power cord for the airport bought in Hong Kong not usable in the Canada? My airport does not at all.
The airport itself base can work with a variety of outlet power settings, but the types of decision-making between Hong Kong and the Canada are completely different. My iPad displays a symbol of power cord and iTunes
I tried all things hold sleep button to connect to the computer, then hold power button waiting and then start your computer repair but the iPad won't do anything except show the same screen, then after a few hours, the iPad is going to a dead battery. I tried to put the power cord but just ping guard. HELP Please,
If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.
Take a look this Apple Support article: use iTunes to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.
As a final step, try recovery mode. Turn off your unit, then plug it to your computer with the hold home button. Hold down Home button until you see the logo of iTunes on the screen of your device. After that on your computer, you should see the iTunes window saying that your device needs to be restored to factory settings. Click Restore.
