All-in-one DELL power cord

I have a Dell all in one that is about 4 years old.  The other day I started up and used for a bit.  I left to go eat and when I came back the computer was off.  I tried to push the power supply, check the power strip and made sure everything is properly connected.  No change.  I noticed that the ring of blue light around the power supply is turned off, so I unplugged the computer and the power strip.  Plugged in the power band and the light is on.  Fantastic, until what I plugged it into the computer where it was released.  I tried some other power cords (same size, etc.) and that they would also have slight shift when connected to the computer.  What can I do to fix this?

Best to remove your serial number.  You have an Inspiron One 2020

The motherboard can be stop due to internal failure.

Card converter or another motherboard problem.

If the culprit could be your power supply internal or internal 3V CR2032 lithium cell battery. To remove and replace the coin cell battery is fairly intensive.

    Rick,

Thank you much for the help. I took your advice and installed the Vista SP2 drivers in compatibility mode, and when my laptop is connected to the printer via a USB cable, I can print.  Now, here's the best... Later, I decided to have the printer put in place for the wireless.

I tried to add a Dell network port, and then pass.  Did not work.  I tried also to add another printer by pointing to a shared printer on an XP computer.  I noticed one thing, it is that when the Dell printer software installed and prompted me to plug the printer into my USB port, it appeared that Windows snuck into another driver.  I saw a message saying that the printer was ready before the Dell software were made.  I also noticed that when I tried to create a new Dell printer two print drivers were available.

In any case, I followed your instructions to uninstall everything (ran program of uninstalling the Dell software, rebooted, ran the patch to clean, restarted), then ran the Dell program configuration of the software (in compatibility mode Vista x 64 SP 2) and chose an installation over the network instead of local installation. He saw the Dell printer on USB wireless adapter and installed fine.  Now, everything seems to work wireless.

I guess my point of view for writing is to warn that when you plug the USB cable during installation of Dell, it seems that Windows 7 is going to sneak in another pilot.  I also advise to install over the network if you want to try to use it wireless, rather than starting with the local USB installation and hope to switch to a network port later.  Thanks again for your message.

Having a problem with this pesky error filter for the Print Pipeline with the AIO 968 under Vista 32 bit (and maybe 64-bit as well)?

No problem, the solution is easier than you think.

But first of all a little info on the problem itself.  Apparently and I can't confirm it really, as I'm not a computer geek, but I can guess, that for some reason any Vista does not load the pilot PnP for this printer correctly.  And when you first set up your printer and you pass through the printer from taking any and all this is, that the Vista fails to load (activate) the appropriate printer driver.  And then when you install the printer software, iincluding the 'all-in-One Center' that it loads the driver XPS instead.  HRT XPS driver is not a suitable printer driver.  It is a driver of improved any.  I'm not really sure of what it is.

But in any case, the solution is simple.  Probably take no more than a minute, once you get off the process.  And it is simply "add a printer".

    Follow these simple steps:

    (1) go to the Control Panel.

    (2) select the printer under hardware and sound.

    (3) select Add a printer.

    (4)  select Add a local printer, and then click Next.

    Next step is very important.

    (5) select the port USB001 (virtual printer Port). Click Next.

    (6) scroll manufacturers here on the left, then select Dell

    (7) on the right, select the driver Dell 968 AIO printer ..  Click Next.

    (8) a licence agreement should appear.  Accept it.

    (9) the computer will then install this driver with a fast progress bar.  Shouldn't take but a few seconds.

    (10) once done, just make sure to set it as the default printer, and then click Finish.

Your printer 968 must now act as it should as a fully functional printer.  In fact, when printing or scanning, you will now see a progress bar pop-up at the bottom box to the right of your screen.  But I will add this, when you load the all-in-One Center and choose to not remove the XPS driver, you will be asked which printer to use, as you have it now two printers (drivers) installed on this port.

And so I leave you with this... PRINT HAPPY!

  • HP PSC 1510 all in one printer power button flashing key.

The power button flashes. No other lights are on.  I can not turn off the printer.

    Hello Laureldawn,

I see this is your first visit with us here on the Forums of HP. Please, let me take a moment to say 'Welcome. '

I have some suggestions that we can try when troubleshooting flashing lights on the printer.

First of all, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and NOT a bar/power strip.

Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended to be used by HP products in general.  This document explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

Another step we can try is the document the Treaty of lights flash.

Please let me know whether or not these measures have helped.

If I don't hear from you today, I hope you have a great Wednesday.

    See you soon,.

Don't forget to check all of your connections, power cord, power adapter, and maybe try another outlet and a direct connection to wall.  If there is no change then the following test: desktop HP - computer starts not (Windows 10.8)

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Installation printer A920 all-in-one

I just bought a used, refurbished OptiPlex 755 PC with Win 7 OS and am trying to install my all-in-One A920 printer. This is the printer that came with (my Dell Dimension 2400 series) desktop I bought about 7 years ago. I downloaded and installed (or so I thought) a Vista 64 bit driver I've read on the Dell website is supposed to be compatible with my Windows 7 64-bit OS. I plugged my printer and opens the file. I thought it was going to guide me through the process of setting up, but he did not. My computer recognized my printer, and he let me even in the all-in-one program. I was able to scan a document in color (but it wouldn't let me save it), I was unable to copy or print documents, and the "empty cartridge" box came up saying that black inkjet cartridges and color were empty; they are not empty because I recently replaced both cartridges. I miss any step, or not to do something in the right order? The printer does not give me a lick of problems on my Dell PC with Windows XP. I don't want to have to buy another printer, if possible, any help you can give me would be appreciated! Thank you! p.s. I have not loaded MS word on my new computer, so I wonder if this has nothing to do with the printer does not. (??)

    monksplay,

The procedure is listed below. The OCR program, found on the disc from the printer, is required for scanning documents and fax.

First run, delete print jobs to eliminate any print job stuck in the queue.

    Unplug the printer.

Download and run the patch (cleaning printer utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure that the printer is deleted. Driver Manual printer removal

Download the 32-bit drivers for Vista for Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 64 bit Vista. Install the Vista drivers in Vista compatibility mode, you will get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at the moment (power on).

You will find links to the patch/drivers to...

Locate the drive that contains the disk Dell inside. Right-click on it, left click Explore. Find the folder of the OCR. In the OCR folder, there is a folder of Abbyy. • Dell (All in One) Studio One 1909/19 power start mystery

A friend asked me to look at Studio One 1909 sister who does not illuminate.  She brought to Best Buy for repair and was told it was the motherboard and don't bother fixing.  When the computer is connected for the first time in the CD eject light doesn't light up for a short period and then goes out, no. fans no beeps... nothing.

I tried a few things to get started, unplugged power wedge, CMOS battery check button to delete all connections etc... but he seemed dead and I was coming to the same conclusion that the technician at best buy, maybe bad power supply or motherboard dead.

I called my friend and gave him the bad news and then he told me that he had the computer running after that he brought home from his sister's House.  He said all started and went very well and he left him when he went to sleep and when he woke up the next day it would not start no matter what he tried. He asked how the motherboard could be dead if he was running so well for 1 day.  I decided to give another glance to the computer.  I removed the power button checked, checked all the connections of power once more and did not find any obvious problems.  I plugged the computer while I had it put on the table, face down and left for a period of time before I went back to it.  I stood the computer up and to my astonishment started computer and everything went perfectly.  I was curious about what I touched to start.  My excitement lasted only until the next morning, when the computer will not turn on.  I came to the conclusion that the face of the computer down was the thing that allowed me to start the computer.

I worked with the computer for a few days and understood that he would in a kind of "Eve" from 1 to 02:00 and to restart I have let face down for about 1/2 hour before starting the system.  I tried different things every night, unplug overnight, leaving to run, stop and leave it plugged in, and the results were the same every morning, regardless of how I left the computer the night before, he would not be running.  Last night after I left the computer face down and this morning I put it up and it starts right now.

My theory is that some sort of pressure is put on the touchscreen sensors placing it face down and he wakes up the computer.  I tried many things before I discovered this trick.  I went to the CMOS settings, the first day I was able to start the computer and the only problem I noticed was that the date was wrong, so I fixed that and all reset the default settings.  I put the power options in windows to never go in mode "sleep" but I don't think that the operating system is in any way related to this problem as it would go in this hibernation even when unplugged.  I still think it's a motherboard problem, but do not know what could be the cause.

I tried to update the BIOS A04 Version but I read in the forums about the systems in brick after the BIOS flash and I don't want to risk it with someone elses computer.

  • My Dell all-in-one 962 stopped printing all of a sudden. The error messages are that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.

My Dell 962 All In One Printer suddenly stopped to print. I get an error message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer. The error message suggests that I unplug and plug back the power plug and the USB cable to the printer and make sure that there are no restrictions of firewall to the printer. I did what was suggested and still no printing. I have resinstaled the printer from the CD software, I got with the computer and also installed the latest driver using the software of the software upgrade wizard.

and also installed the latest driver by using the Software Update Wizard software.

That would not have been the best idea... but it is unlikely that the cause of your immediate problem.

The next thread does not make much sense to me, but it describes a situation similar to what you described and the proposed solution is supposed to have worked.  Try it and see--> http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3528/t/19483019

I suspect that what really happens is that the driver has become corrupted.  In many cases, simply reinstall the driver is not fix things; you have to clean the old corrupt driver before installing the new.  Thus, it is more likely that the part "Uninstall" the related response is what is helping rather than playing with services... but go ahead and follow these directions, just in case.  In fact, I suggest that you run under first antimalware scanners before following the tips in the above link.

If I had not found the link above, that's what I would have suggested (whichrequires that you have Windows XP):

Often, but not always, the symptoms you describe are caused by a corrupt print job stuck in the queue or a damaged printer driver.  However before you clean things up, on general principles, that you can download, install, update and run full scans with each of these two free programs.

    MalwareBytes AntiMalware

    SUPERAntiSpyware

Use the free version, not the free trials of "pro" versions  Pay attention during installation uncheck any prechecked boxes that would install some additional third-party programs.

Do not run the scans at the same time.  Each scan will take a while.  Start one and go do a non-it chore.  Once the scan is finished, leave the program to deal with anything it finds.

Once done, you can keep or uninstall programs, or both.  If you keep SAS, I suggest to change its default setting does NOT automatically when Windows starts.

Uninstall all software from Dell to control panel > Add / Remove programs

Download Microsoft Fixit 50126 impression: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9662904

Close all running applications (anything with an icon on the taskbar).

Run the Fixit routine.  Note: The routine Fixit has two modes, light and complete.  It will run in full mode when you check the box "Reset the spooler to print on values."  This will remove all printers, so if you have any other printer installed, I recommend running the Fixit in full mode.  If you have other printers and you do not (necessarily) want to reinstall them, run the Fixit in light mode (box unchecked).  This may work anyway.  You must restart the computer after you run in full mode; you need not restart after the Chase mode.

After the Fixit has executed and you have restarted if necessary, make sure that the printer is disconnected from the computer and run the installation software.  You will be asked to connect the printer to a suitable place.  You can use the CD that came with the computer or download the software here (which is relatively hard to find, the claims of the main page of the 962 product support it cannot find the drivers)--> http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=R89490
