Power Jack is broken on my laptop satellite

Here's the thing, I opened the computer at a very long time, a bad smell of the card, the card work but is the power Jack can not detect any power.

I don't know that the power supply is broken. Could you tell me what I need to do?
Can I fix it myself?

Hello

I would recommend to contact a technician mobile downtown
Now I'm not able to say if this can be fixed in the worst case the motherboard needs to be replaced, but like I said; the laptop technicians should check this part and perhaps only this little parts should be changed.

    Hello

the CD - DVD drive on my laptop Satellite is apparently broken, and I've thought about buying a CD-DVD external drive and would appreciate help.
In case I have to re - install Windows, I'd be able to do this with an external CD drive, because I believe that I need to boot from the CD to start the reinstall, and I do not know if the laptop will "recognize" the external hard drive?

    Thank you
    Bob

As far as I know external optical disc drive will not be recognized and you will not be able to launch the installation of the OS. To be honest I don't understand why you prefer this external solution.
I don't know what model of laptop you have exactly, but optical drives for laptop are not expensive, especially for older models of laptops.

Almost every laptop can deal with several compatible readers and replacement is very simply. You can do this alone. So if you want to replace the drive to let know us what model of laptop do you have exactly.

    Help

    I agree with Liam.
The indicator flashes as a serious hardware problem was detected.
What you could do is remove the RAM modules and test the device with the new test modules but I guess that is not RAM problem but something wrong with the motherboard.

  • Loss of power during the update of BIOS on Satellite A110

During a BIOS update using WinPHlash power was interrupted and now my Tosh Satellite A110 is unresponsive.

I think the BIOS is now corrupt or non-existent.
I searched the net solutions and found nothing that works so far.

I know that I'm a fool to try to Flash a bios under Windows but I did and now I need a cure.

Thank you, in advance, to all those who responded to my call for assistance.

Yes, you are right; the EPROM module was not properly flashed.
In this case, the BIOS is corrupt and the laptop does not work.

Solution: the EPROM module must be flashed once more use special disc of crisis of the BIOS.

To perform this procedure to update the BIOS crisis, you need the BIOS (traditional version), BIOS crisis disk along with the step by step instructions.

Unfortunately, this special BIOS crisis disk isn't available for download. It of available only for service technicians authorized.
But I also read in various forums about successful re-flash BIOS.

    For example in this thread:

Check it out. Maybe it will help you. Otherwise, you will need to get in touch with partners in local service to Flash the BIOS again.

  • Power connector at right angle for laptop HP 2230 s?

Is it possible to get an adapter at right angles to the power connector DC for my laptop HP 2230 s?

The connector on the DC power cable that goes into the laptop out the path to the side (a good 2.5 "), which, besides being bulky, resembles an accident waiting to happen. On my old Fujitsu, the connector was barely right angle type, it came out at all, and was not a danger to catch on anything and damage the socket or the plug. This type of connector puts also much less strain on the DC input jack, as he does not act as a lever for bit.

I've seen at right angles to the adapters for different types of cable (you plug your cable on one end and the other goes in the computer), like this:

I hope you get the idea. In any case, what I would like is an adapter for the type of connector used on my HP laptop. The type of connector seems to be pretty standard in the range, so an adapter can be used with many models of HP. In the end, I hope that HP will change cables from their power supplies for laptop to come with these types of connectors at the ends, but in the meantime, is possible to get an appropriate, either through HP or a third party adapter?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer suggestions!

  • HP Pavilion DV6535ep power Jack / USB module compatible numbers

    Hello

My HP dv6535ep has recently begun to turn off randomly. At first, I thought it was because of the temperature of the CPU/GPU but then discovered that he was in fact the power jack which became very hot and it has partially melted. I completely disassembled the laptop and inspected the power Jack / USB module and not found other flaws that a charred soldering point corresponding to the + 19V input line. I tested the power cable and the PCB board for short circuits, there is everything. I also tested the diet that works. Since the tip of electric power cable have significantly melted, I replaced with a new cable and assembled the laptop again. However the problem persists, with the new power supply tip, the tip and connector instantly becomes very hot when the laptop is turned on. The laptop does not even pass the BIOS/POST, she shut it down. For completeness, I will add that the blue power jack light is on once I connect to the edge of power.

    So in summary:

    * After you turn on the laptop, the DC power connector tip and jack become very very hot in a matter of seconds (point melt the end if not immediately disconnected).

    * The power DC jack light is on after plugging in the power.

    * The laptop often depends not at all and when it does, it stops during the BIOS POST.

    * The power supply is working (I have tested) and the power cable and points work too (I replaced with new parts).

Then, leading me to believe the power Jack / USB is defective and must be replaced and that's the reason why I am writing here in the first place. You would be so kind and provide the power Jack / USB board of part numbers that are compatible with my laptop? Current reference number (defective) power Jack / USB card is

    DDAT8APB3002907

I have difficulties to find exact matches on the surplus stores, where the best that I got is DDAT8APB300XXXX, where the last four digits do not match. Are they compatible?

In hoping to hear talk about you,

    Thank you

    -Angelo

  • Built in camera Chicony USB no longer works on laptop Satellite A200

All of a sudden, the built-in in my laptop Satellite A200 Chicony USB webcam has stopped working - it was going very well about 6 weeks ago, but now it's as if he has actually disappeared from the laptop. The camera does not even on devices such as equipment manager - there is no single category of imaging devices (unless I am also connected to our printer/scanner). It is also not displayed in 'scanners and cameras' folder in the control panel. But the software (Toshiba Camera Assistant software) is still there. Weird.

When I start the computer first, or at other times try to start the camera, an error message appears that says:
    * "webcam driver open fail. Restart the computer or the camera. "

Before you tell me to download and reinstall the drivers, let me tell you what I "ve tried so far:"
    1 restart the computer (obviously)
2 downloaded the driver for my model on this site and variously has tried to repair, replace and finally uninstalled and reinstalled the. IT IS NOT THE DRIVER!
3 unplugged my wireless USB mouse and restart the computer (I read on another thread that it sometimes interferes with the camera)
4 tried to get the computer looking for new hardware - he couldn't find it.
5 tried a system restore, where it was linked to a recent update - I tried this using three different restore points system, and none of them could not be completed.

    Help! necessary technical assistance
    Thank you

All that you have done is just.

In all this history it's strange this webcam is not listed in Device Manager.
In my opinion, you should do a final test to check the operation of the equipment, if you want to install the OS by using recovery DVDs.

With own factory and OS preinstalled settings, you can check the operation of the equipment and see if the cam will work or not.
If the problem will be the same I'm almost sure it's related to the faulty webcam.
