  • How can I turn off the orange light in the touchpad?

I have a HP Pavilion dv5 with a windows 7 OS. Today updated the synaptics software and since then the orange light on the touchpad is not off. I tried to activate and deactivate the activation gesture in the settings and typing the light and nothing has worked.

    Hello

First, download the latest installer driver Synaptics, on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp50501-51000/sp50819.exe

Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

When you are finished, stop the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery, connect the power adapter and start Notepad.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

Hello CeD_B, I'm not familiar with your card connectors mother special façade, however if cables (wires) are inserted in a plastic connector, you may remove the wires and connect them individually. They are usually labeled.

The son of LEDs for the power switch and the hard disk activity are polorized, which means they have a plus and a downside that should be connected to the pins on the motherboard in the correct polarity.

If you have connected to power led and HDD led pins on the motherboard and the lights are not just back the sons and the led should light up, and the hard drive activity led should light up when the hard disk is written to or retrieved from the hard drive data.

While this image is not your motherboard, it will offer an idea of connections pin on some motherboards.

  • Satellite S50T - How to get rid of the light on the touchpad?

    Hello
On the topleft of the touchpad light has recently come - I must have hit a button by mistake. I can't find a way to turn it off.

It's annoying and it also seems to stop the touchpad to work.

I assume that you write on the touchpad power witness. It turns white when the touchpad is disabled.
Double tab on this indicator will allow new touchpad and small light turns off.

  • Orange light on the touchpad

HP Pavilion dm4 - 2033CL-> what is the orange led on the mouse pad for? What is doing? Any purpose?

    Hello dm123;

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you are curious about what the orange light means on your Touchpad. It simply means that your touchpad has been disabled or turned off. It is common when you plug in a USB mouse as there is a setting in most drivers automatically disable the touchpad when it detects a connected USB mouse. If you do not have a USB mouse connected and you will see the orange light you can turn on the Touchpad by double clicking on the top left corner of the touch pad. Doing this, you should see the orange light out.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting your question on the Forums of HP. Have a great day!

  • Satellite A100-033: I disabled the touchpad and now Fn + F9 won't allow

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-033 running Vista Home Basic. I use especially the laptop as a desktop replacement, and I do not like use the touchpad I disabled it, and instead, I use an external mouse via a USB port.

I don't know if I disabled the touch pad by pressing Fn + F9 or by any other means (if it was by some other means that I forgot what it was). Recently, I wanted to re-enable the touchpad so that I could use the laptop outside the home. However, I found that by pressing Fn and F9 don't re - not allow the touchpad and I now can't use the touch pad at all.

If I go into the properties of the mouse (in Control Panel), that tells me that my synaptics pointing device is enabled. If I go into Device Manager and look at 'mouse', I thought that my touchpad works properly.

All this makes me suspect that the problem is not a hardware failure, but I changed a few settings, so that my touchpad is permanently disabled until I change the setting back to its original state.

    Help!

    Hello

One of the solutions would be a system restore you could try to set the operating system to the point of time at the beginning. Perhaps that would help reactivate the touchpad.

Conversely, you can try to reinstall the drivers for the Touchpad firstly I would recommend removing it from the Device Manager and then after restarting, you can try reinstalling the drivers downloaded!

I would appreciate any comments from you

    Good bye

  • Equium L40 10 X flashing green power light

    Hi guys,.

I have an old Equium L40 that I haven't used in a while.

Now when I plug the power adapter into the power green led just blinks constantly.
I checked the blink codes, but I can't find one for mine. It simply turns green for a second then off.
Then green for a second then off the coast and that constantly.

I tried to remove the battery for a few minutes and then hold the power button for a minute, but I just get the same result. The adapter is one that came with the laptop and as far as I can tell works very well.

Other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you guys!

    Hello

Indicator power (DC IN) indicates the status of the power supply with the power adapter plugged.
(Without flashing) Green means supply and the computer is turned on.
The power light on the front of the computer lights green when the computer is turned on.
Flashing orange indicates power to the computer while the laptop is in mode 'sleep'.

Unfortunately, the DC IN green flashing red state looks like a hardware problem.
Probably the power supplied to the laptop is abnormal or there are a few problems with electronic power on the motherboard.

By the way: Please check the memory modules live. Blow an and test the device using that one module in each slot. Check the two modules.
A few years ago, a friend of mine had some problems with the laptop. The flashing light indicates the issue of RAM

You see a Toshiba splash screen at the beginning?
    You can access the BIOS?

If this is not possible, a serious hardware problem appeared...
It could just be a memory, but in the worst cases, your motherboard is the problem

  • Power led on the laptop does not not on Satellite C855

I have a C855. I thought first my charger had ceased to function as the light on the front of the laptop (next to the power light and the wireless light was not on when it has been plugged in.) After a few minutes, I realized that when I unplugged the power cable from the laptop, my screen went dim, while it worked.
But plugged in, this isn't a white light that showed that he was accused. I leave the battery to run down a little then plugged back in and then it will not orange. And said x time before fully charged (windows 10) he got 1 minute, then rose to 99% connected load and the battery light is still orange. There no changes little matter how long I left it plugged in after.
Is that a failure of the cell or battery possible?

How it works with AC power only. Have you tried to remove the battery ad test?
