Power on the C50D-A Satellite problems

I close the lid on my laptop Toshiba Satellite C50D-A-when I go to use the laptop even once, I opened the lid and the power lights are on but the laptop seems to be still asleep and nothing happens. I'm trying to put off the laptop computer has by pressing the power button, but the laptop will not turn off: I have to unplug the power cable, remove the battery, then connect the power cable and the battery, which then leaves me back - turn on the laptop.

Anyone encountered this?

Usually, one of the mentioned parameters must be enabled in order to boot up the laptop automatically when you open the cover of the display
(1) if the hybrid shutdown has occurred in Windows 8 (default option)
(2) or "Open Panel - Power On" is activated.

As one option must be activated, I recommend you to check the settings of your system. Please check if your power on the issue would appear using various scenarios:

Judgment of the hybrid is disabled / the "Panel Open - power it is activated.
Hybrid shutdown is enabled / the "Panel Open - power on is disabled.
Stop of the hybrid is activated / the ' Open - Power Panel it is activated.

  • Battery on the L50T-A196 Satellite problem

    Hello

I bought the Satellite L50T-A196 a year ago and rarely used on battery.
Now, when disconnecting the electricity, battery fall quickly (about 30-40 min) up to 9% and the weird thing it remains 9% more than 2 1/2 hours before draining completely.

I googled this problem and found many ways to calibrate the battery, but none worked.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you

To be honest I don't never heard such behavior of the battery. Rest at 9% for more than 2 1/2 hours?
    It's very strange.
Make it completely empty and load all night again. What happens when you do this? The same thing again?

  • Power on the old Tecra A2 problems

I recently had an old Tecra A2 PTA20E. It has a new battery and AC adapter. Although the green light on the front turns on when you press the power button, nothing happens.

Base gets hot, but the fan does not work, the DVD will not open and also be living. Because of his age he is not worth taking to a professional repairman. However, even though I am a novice, I would like to revive, if possible.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to the possible cause of the problem?

It's not easy to say what s wrong but in the worst case, it could be something wrong with the motherboard for example.

    Check this box:
-remove the battery, disconnect the adapter
    -wait a bit (30 min - 1 h)
-Then reconnect both sides and try to start.

If you see anything on the screen then the question must be really serious and I would say that a material main parts of malfunctions.
But I'm really not able to tell what's exactly wrong in my opinion, all parts should be checked, but I put t know if it is worth s or not. You know.

  • Power on the Satellite Pro 3000 problem

Wives Satellite S3000 has developed what appears to be a power problem

Last night it started indicating that he doesn't have the power of the DC input... This seemed to be a fault of internittent stirring casued DC input light to return cable. Taking the DC Jack off main cable, I discovered that one of the two pins was broken.

Is out today and bought a new 5.5mm/2.5mm DC Jack and reconnected thinking that everything would be OK... but there is no response from the laptop... the DC input light does not come on and neither does the indicator "charging battery".

A multimeter indicates there is 19v DC decision-making.

It seems to me that there may be an internal power problem. Otherwise there may be a problem with the power with respect to the current delivery.

A battery totally buggered may this "non-response"? I expect the laptop to operate on DC power regardless of the internal State and secondary battery.

Ideas appreciated... will see if I can alternative power source and try it before resorting to delve into the bowels of the thing!

    Thank you

    Hello

    > A battery totally buggered may this "non-response"? I expect the laptop to operate on DC power regardless of the internal State and secondary battery.

The laptop should run without battery. If the adapter is ok and if it was connected to the laptop, then it should be possible to start the machine.

If the laptop does not start, then it must be a hardware problem.
But believe me; It's not easy to say what exactly is the problem.

Maybe you bought only a bad power adapter that is not compatible with the Sat Pro 3000?
Or maybe there is something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard?
Who knows?  :| Only the technician who checked the laptop can provide an exact error diagnostic.

  • Problem of management of power with the Satellite S2430-402

Every time is start my laptop, I get a message saying "%1 is not a valid Win 32 application" under the heading "E-power", thus the Toshiba power management does not load. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software from the cd, but it does not work, and I still get the message.

The problems began after I installed a program called Ghost Surf 2005 and ran for the first time. Since then I uninstalled but still has problems. I am running Windows XP operating system.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Dan,.

It seems that the software corrupted a file which is responsible for the powermanagement! There is what we call common files and it can be replace a file, the installation of Ghost surf!

You can try to solve it with the Windows XP system restore when you set a restore point! Back to a restore point that was resolved before installing the software!

  • Satellite Pro A120 - no power supply the AC adapter

    Hello

I recently had some problems with powering the my Satellite PRO A120. Initially I was not getting any power to the laptop of my adapter. I bought a new card on ebay that seems to have solved the problem as my laptop turned on once more, even if I could use it only for a few minutes on the stand alone mode as it would drain completely after a few minutes. After a few weeks, the adapter has stopped working. This led me to believe that my battery might be the problem that caused the adapter switch defective.

I then bought a battery of reco and tried to see how long he would stay on without the adapter - even once the laptop only lasted a few minutes before I die

I can only use my laptop with a power adapter borrowed right now. The battery is the cause or is there an underlying problem with memory or the motherboard?

It will be expensive to fix or should I try to buy a battery and the original power cord and see if it works

Your opinions and comments would be greatly appreciated.

    > After a few weeks, the adapter has stopped working. This led me to believe that my battery might be the problem that caused the adapter switch defective.

It is a nonsense. The battery does not affect the power adapter!
The battery loses own performance during use of the laptop and sooner or later, the battery will discharge.
This is nothing unusual happens to all batteries

In your case, it could be a defective battery and AC adapter malfunction
It is very rare that the two parties would begin to malfunction at the same time, but it possible s

However, in my view the laptop must be tested using the new battery and AC adapter.

  • When the capacity of the battery falls Satellite Pro U300 occasionally lose power

    Hello

I suspect you have a defective battery (standard installed on the laptop) on my new Satellite Pro U300 - 11 k and I wonder if someone had a similar problem.
When the power drops to 10%, my laptop occasionally loses power. In the range of less than 7% capacity always loses power, i.e. either fails to start the hibernation, or is unable to complete the process (I can always tell if power was lost during hibernation because of the characteristic of the system of protection HD sound). I did several tests, especially in the power saving mode. "High performance" mode power seems to be a little more reliable, but still fails to shut down less than 5% of the capacity. The level of Hibernate by default on the Toshiba Windows Vista pack is as low as 2%, so I can wait until it is able to work at this level.

Overall the battery capacity is about 1 h (Media Player, fashion high performance, maximum intensity) at all about 2 to 2.5 hours (slowed or text editor, mode, brightness low power saving). Charging time is about 1 hour (seems too short). They are difficult to objectively assess that Toshiba avoids quoting the specifications of the battery, but I consider the question of the reliability of the above as being a serious (do not want to take the risk of damaging the HD). I am considering visiting the service center, but leaving both the computer and the battery with them would be a nuisance for me and I would rather avoid it if I can. I wonder if I can claim the warranty on the battery alone?

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Background information:
-The U300 is a few weeks old.
-The battery has been fully charged and discharged (approximately 15 times since purchase).
    -Cooldown takes 1 h - 1.5hrs
    -J' using Vista Business
-J' went through the power settings to make sure they are ok and to change threshold levels
-I am an experienced business user, I use a laptop computer at work which stops always perfectly to the power level of 3%

    Thanks for help

Reading your post, I do see no battery issues! Everything you say is right and not a malfunction.
Please note that the Vista operating system needs much more computing resources and the battery is much more emphasized running Vista!

Please also note that the level and time to discharge the battery can be different! Everything depands of the use of the laptop!
All the portable devices and parts waste the power of the battery at the same time and that's why there are differences in the discharge procedure.

Don t be afraid and take advantage of your laptop but if you think you will need to contact the ASP in order to clarify this issue, then feel free to contact service technician.
They should be able to help you.

  • After a minute to the power of the battery turns off my Satellite 1400

Hello! I need your help! Whenever I go to the power of the battery, all of a sudden, a minute later, my laptop turns off without reason! The battery is fully charged. What do you think is the problem? My laptop is 4 years old.
    It is a Satellite 1400.
    Thank you very much!

    Hi Krissy

In my opinion, everything that happens has a reason any. From your description, I think that the battery is at the end and should be replaced.

It may be that the battery is full, but there is not enough power. I have a similar problem with Tecra 9000. Unit is also about 4 years. On battery it maybe rolls 10 minutes but after that this time he switched down suddenly.

  • Satellite L755 - suddenly then turn off blinking of power and the battery LEDs

In recent weeks, when using the laptop (Satellite L755 psk2ye) he died suddenly and the power and the battery leds start flashing simultaneously.

It also takes place when charging the battery when the unit is off... then l must cut off the power and he'll be back... Although the problem sometimes occurs again after a few minutes hours or does not...

Remove the battery and check if the same problem occur when you use laptops with power running.

  • Satellite Pro L850-1EF does not supply power to the top

    Hi all

I really hope that someone could help me please.

I went to turn on my laptop and it won't turn.
Fans are not put on, I have a slight white power on with no flashing and and also the same with the battery light (white on and not flashing)

I tried to completely remove the power and held the button for 30 seconds before replacing the battery and the power to the machine.

I really get to a stage of deperate as have all my pictures of children, family, wedding and honeymoon on my laptop.
    Please help if you can.

    Thanks in advance.

Good news first: your personal files on the HARD disk like photos, the photos should not be affected.

You could get access to the files to remove the portable computer HARD drive (details here: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU2603C20000R01.htm) and connect the HARD drive on another computer by using a USB-SATA 2.5 "case.

Now for the bad news: from my point of view of the few your laptop has developed a hardware failure serious; Maybe that it's just a problem of module of RAM... in this case, you need to replace only the modules of RAM but in the worst case, the motherboard could be defective and such a fix could be costly.

    Hello

    Very strange problem
Have you noticed this problem from the beginning?

First check if your BIOS is up to date. Updated the BIOS if the new version is available.
In addition it would be recommended to update the display driver.

But if two updates don't change this, then I recommend you contact an ASP in your country. It could be a hardware problem.

  • Power of the satellite S3000 - X 4 question.

I got an S3000 - X 4 to look at, and I can't seem to find the problem. (I searched these Forums and Google before this announcement and can't seem to find a result)

    The Machine lights.

I had the original power supply, Battery, DVD player and memory. If I hit the power button the camera seems to try to start up, the hum of hard drive noise, the led power and HD light turn green (alternating current is already on), happening for about 5 seconds, then it stops everything and let me just with the AC power light.

I tried to use a different power supply with the same output (voltage and AMPS), and the same thing happens.

I removed the battery, just on the AC and still the same thing. This too after the DVD-Rom has been removed, and even I remove the memory and he gave a wipe incase it was a bad connection.

When the battery is connected, I get a flashing Orange (about 1 second for 4 seconds) I guess that's the charge of the battery? Although my Acer laptop, when he is in charge there is static, I don't know if Toshiba shows differently.

If I just have the battery connected, and no current it won't start at all, so I think the battery is dead, and flashing errors say maybe the battery does not charge, but with him does not not on AC only, it's confusing me.

The Toshiba worked well at a time, then the next day, they went to turn it on, and it would be not just turn it on. I thought that it could hiberated, but I can't find a button that he brings back from hibernation. (If that is the question)

Can anyone shed light on this problem, because I want to help my friend before there to make any money on repairs. (Willing repaired at all, after all the prices for laptops are so cheap now, it might be worth buying a new one)

    Kind regards.

    Hi Paul,.

from your description of the symptoms, I suspect a faulty motherboard. As you say rightly, the laptop must turn on without the battery in place, so I think that can be eliminated as a possible cause.

Having removed / clean the modules of RAM as well as the optical drive only hard disc and even if it didn't it should still turn on the laptop.

    Kind regards

    Hello

My laptop Satellite M50 does not supply power to the top. The laptop itself is working fine, but I can't use it as the battery is discharged. I checked the cable ca and it seems ok. The laptop has a fuse internal which I need to check? If this is not the case, what should I do?

    Thank you.

    Hello

If I understand you correctly you cannot use laptop with AC power only. Am I right about that?
Switching between the block of AC power or the battery, do the power of electronic cards and there is not a switch so that you can check.

When you connect your laptop to the power Jack is the power LED ON?
