  • How to apply the patch to power supply in an environment of dataguard

I need to apply a patch of power supply in an environment of dataguard. I would like to know the sequence of steps I must follow.

Can someone please help me on this? DB version is 11.2.0.4 and I need to apply 11.2.0.4.3 PSU.

In order to apply the fix, you must first carefully read the "Readme" of the patch for instructions.

To give an overview of the sequence of steps to follow to apply a patch in environment dataguard, here it is:

1 reporter on the primary to the standby log shipping.

2 cancel the MRP on the standby database.

    3. apply the patch of power supply on the standby server. -See the Readme for instructions.

    4. ensure that the standby db is mounted and the earpiece is in place on the standby server.

    5. do not run any script correction on the standby database.

    6. apply the patch of power supply on the principal server.

    7. make sure that your primary database and the listener on the primary server is running.

8 turn on the primary to the standby log shipping.

9 start the MRP on the standby database.

    10. run the script of correction (catbundle.sql) on the primary database and monitor the progress of the eve of the resumption.

  • Fix power supply more recent Oracle database

    Dear all,

I installed my database 2 years ago, we have several versions of different databases, 11.2.0.3, versions of linux (5,6) 11.2.0.4, 11.2.0.1.in. We did not apply a patch CPU or power supply until today.i want to apply last patch of power supply to my oracle databases. we would think that offer more security to the database, please suggest me the last patch of PSU for that not to apply previous patches.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Must I also patch grid infrastructure home with power supply?

    Hello

I am building a new server to replace an old one with the following configuration:

OLD Config: Oracle 11 g 2 EE (11.2.0.3) with POWER 16056266 block, on OEL 6.2 64-bit (file system)

NEW Config: Oracle 11 g 2 EE (11.2.0.3) with power supply on OEL 6.2 64-bit, ASM (grid below) 16056266, 11.2.0.3

If I understand correctly, grid Infra Software version cannot be less than that of RDBMS software. Because the RDBMS software must be patched with 16056266 power supply to match the existing server, I have a few questions:

    1. Should I ask a PSU 16056266 grid infrastructure home (I'm sure the answer is 'yes', but I want to ensure that)
    2. Is the same power supply for the RDBMS and grid infrastructure OR there is a download separate patch for grid below?
    3. I need to replace the existing 'OPatch"under grid infrastructure home with the latest [just like I do to patch House RDBMS]?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Power supply for 11.2.0.1 patch

    Hello

We have a database of 11.2.0.1

Our auditor TI has forced us to be always updated for the current PSU.

I checked the PSU for 11.2.0.1 and I was released last last JUL 2011.

Does this mean that we must stop here?

    Thank you

    Petra-K

    Hello

A set of hotfix update is a minor release so will not involve the upgrade to 11.2.0.3 or 11.2.0.4.  Once you have the last applied PSU, you can tell listeners that you do not have the last power supply.

    See the article by MOS

List of reference Documents updated fixed (PSU) Critical Patch Update Availability (CPU) and Patch for Oracle Database and Fusion Middleware product (Doc ID 783141.1)

As stated earlier the July 2011 PSU is the final version for 11.2.0.1 is the last of them, you can apply without upgrading to a newer version.

If you can upgrade to 11.2.0.3 or 11.2.0.4 clearly well worth doing - the implications of certification of your application are likely to be minimal, but of course he need permission from your application developers and it will test.

The above document keeps track of the latest patch for all versions.

We have recently updated the our databases from 10g to 11.2.0.3 and intend to apply the power supply on 11.2.0.3 on a regular basis of the databases. I went by the doc 854428.1

  • Power supply is important for unique patches?

    DB version: 11.2.0.2
    OPERATING SYSTEM: AIX

We wanted to apply a patch (12683462) unique. The power supply of our database was 2 fifth finger) that is to say our DB version has been 11.2.0.2.2

I downloaded by mistake one off patch for 11.2.0.2.0 (p12683462_112020_AIX64 - 5L .zip) instead of 11.2.0.2.2

When I apply the patch, I was getting
The following warnings have occurred during OPatch execution:
    1) OUI-67619:Interim patch 12683462 conflict with patch(es) [  11724916 ] in the Oracle Home
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OPatch failed with error code 74
Then, I realized that I downloaded the patch for 11.2.0.2.0 instead of 11.2.0.2.2. After you download the right one (p12683462_112022_AIX64 - 5L .zip), the correction went before successfully.

BTW, 11724916 is the block of POWER 2 11.2.0.2 (11.2.0.2.2).

Why I was getting this conflict?

The single patch for 11.2.0.2.0 is in conflict with a patch already included in the power supply 11.2.0.2.2. Oracle has removed the confilct unique patch prepared for power supply 11.2.0.2.2.
Situations of confilct are quite normal, so one should always choose the right spot.

  • Apply the power supply 11.2.0.3.10

    Hi all

    11.2.0.3

We have primary & secondary dataguard with power supply 11.2.0.3.8.

I applied PSU 11.2.0.3.10. What binary & db should I apply first? primary or secondary?

    Thank you all,

    pK

    > I ask management a window of downtime of 1 hour from 12:00 - 01:00. Will it?

1 hour will be enough? Normally, it's for me, even for my RAC primary and standby CARS. However, I have a system that takes hours to patch (processors run Java really, really slow).

    > is there a risk that the database no start? or the app will be bug because of the patch down?

I saw no such behaviour in all Oracle patches that I was sent. But there is always a danger that a patch will break something. You must carefully test the printers patches before deploying to production. Failure to test the patch in the non-production is a career limiting the movement, in my view. In addition, if you apply in off-production, you will have a good idea if your downtime 1 hour is enough.

    > How do I return it?

Have you read the patch instructions in the Readme file?

    See you soon,.

  • No power supply in April 2012 to 10.2.0.4 on Oracle Solaris SPARC (64 bit)?

According to + Patch Update and Critical Patch Update April 2012 Document availability [1406574.1 ID], it seems that there is no April 2012 PSU for Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit). The final is of course one was released on July 2011. But when I click on Database 10.2.0.4.12 PSU Patch 12879933 next to the Oracle database home, a download option appears for this platform. The download button is grayed out and the hover-over flight wrote that I don't have permission to download this patch.

    My questions:

    (1) is this typical of a platform to appear on a POWER Pack download page, even if there is no such PSU? And if so, why?
    (2) is there or is there not an April 2012 PSU to 10.2.0.4 on Oracle Solaris SPARC (64 bit)?
    (3) If this power supply does not exist, is my only option to upgrade to Set 10.2.0.5 Patch, and then apply the April 2012 PSU for it?

    Thank you very much.

N ° and this is not to say that there is not, that is to say that you have not permission to do. Since it is a patch for 10.2, you'll need a contract "extended support".
