Power supply Presario SR2038X upgrade

I would like to know what can handle the maximum power that I can use for a desk top Presario SR2038X Media center 2005? I am currently using a Bestec ATX-300 - 12Z, and would switch to a 500-550w PSU. My motherboard is an A8M2N-(NodusM3). And what brand I am limited to?

Thank you... Wall-e

This motherboard uses a standard power supply for an ATX case.  As long as the physical size does not limit anything in the case, it should not be a particular brand that is necessary.

  • problem with size of power supply for HP6774y upgrade?

I ordered a power SUPPLY Corsair TX650M block as an upgrade. Do this in anticipation of adding a new video card. Thought I had done my homework in the choice of this power supply, but I'm a little distracted by the holidays.

I was surfing just these cards and it is clear another poster that Corsair POWER supply does not fit well it is rated for this size case.

Will want to return it without opening it if this is true. Can someone suggest a modular PSU that adapts no doubt? (I mean only to this one!)

Have you opened the file and actually measured depth of PSU exists on this matter. It should be 5.5 ". If you have another 'inch' of tolerance, I would not worry about it.

As a comment, the 650 is excessive (IMHO), unless your planning on future additions, or perhaps improve the graphics of cards to the 6950 (which only requires a min of 500W).

Your also right, I'm pretty critical of the dimensions of the Corsair. I see too many references to the OCZ and Corsair and rarely see a comment about you measure the depth of cementation, with the exception of the Big_Dave.

  • Need the dimensions of XPS8300 power supply for the upgrade.

So I bought a Dell XPS 8300 on sale Black Friday mainly because of the processor, RAM and HARD drive.  I need a new computer and wanted it to be fast but also wanted a desktop computer, because I intend to upgrade to a better quality of game.  I plan on upgrading the graphics card to a Geforce GTX 560 Ti FPB.  I understand that this will require a more powerful power supply and seeks to those at the moment, probably a 760W supply.  My concerns are mainly regarding the power supply box installation.

Currently my XPS 8300 has a 7P3WV 460W power supply.  Part # H460AD-00Someone has dimensions on this so I can get a power supply that will compete?

Or if no dimensions does anyone know of a compatible PSU?

Finally, I intend to switch on the case and motherboard and all simply transfer on the parties but that is further down the road.

    Thanks in advance!

Generic standard ATX power supply can be installed, with a power of 20 + 4 pin main motherboard, or 24 pins as the XPS 8300 has a rear panel open, with or without the on/off switch.

You should be able to buy a compatible power supply either a local computer or online store.

Note: A power supply with four SATA power connectors, is necessary.

  • p6203w M/N - 250 Watt power supply, to be upgraded.

This model slimline I, p6203w, contains a small 250 Watt PSU.  I want to improve, but I fear that the new power supply may be too much physically.

I know that I could just leave it outside the PC, but I prefer to have it mounted properly.  Are there updates available that will be adapting the standard framework p6203w?

    Thank you

    Hello

The p6203w is not a slimline but a model middle of the tower.

You need to open your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your diet. Here is a list of the things to consider:
    1. technical characteristics
    2. the total power - important
    3. amperage 12 + v - important
4 modular - is not required, but I like the flexibility
    5. guarantee
    6 i7 and SLI ready
    7. energy efficiency
    8 cost
    9. size - standard ATX PSU is 5.5 "by 5.9" by 3.4 "give or take a few tenths
    10. a single + 12 volt rail is a better choice.

I'm a Phoenix 810 - 330qe, currently equipped with the stock Nividia GTX 745. I bought a graphics card GTX 970 upgrade for better gameplay and use of possible VR helmet. I have not yet installed, but wonder if my power supply must be upgraded to handle it all. If so, will what power take?

The new card is spec'd to draw 145W and recommend a power of 500W. The 745 GTX is spec'd respectively 55W and 300W. The current stock PSU is rated at 500W, but do not know if that pushes its limit. The only other setting I had installed an SSD alongside that of stock.

    Help suggestions, thank you.

I would upgrade the PSU, considering that you've also added an SSD.

  • Upgrading power SUPPLY Compaq Presario SR1403WM block

I know this is an old computer and everything, but I'm always wanting to do some updates for her because I'm not getting rid of it for a while.

So I was wondering what would be a compatible power supply for this computer. I'm looking for at least a 350 watts so that I could run easily 3 hard drives, a dvd burner and a Radeon X 1300 XT.

If you know if this card will work with the 250 that is in this computer with my other updates please tell so I don't have to worry about this.

Since the computers original specifications I already changed to 3 320 WD HDD, 2 GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon 9550, while also removing the modem 56 k the 9 in 1 card reader and the original hard drive, CD burner and stick of RAM.

The 9550 is just a little weak for me and the x 1300 will be able to hit the sweet spot. That is why I wonder about upgrading the PSU or the card will work with the current.

Anyway thanks for the help in advance.

Ok. Good ATX PSU brand will do. (Corsair / OCZ / Fortron / shut up!) Your motherboard uses an ATX PSU specification. With what you already have in your system, you should get a decent at least 450 Watts and ATX12V 2.2 EPS12V, modular, 80 more specs. Care like these will allow you to use it in a motherboard upgrade when you are ready

  • SR5610F Compaq Presario Desktop - Power Supply Upgrade

Currently, I have a stock SR5610F Desktop and I installed a new graphics card without realizing the low power supply. I wish to find a new power supply at least 350-400W PSU that can fit into this model of Tower.

I'm having problems trying to find a suitable diet:

    1. it must be integrated into the tower itself.

-I feel a bit stupid now, I forgot that the plate itself does not affect the power supply. -

If anyone has any suggestions for a diet for this computer, help would be greatly appreciated (infinitely).

    -Drake

This Corsair should work, but there are other choices.  It is a model single rail with 34 amps on the 12 volt bus.

Regarding a new video card, this block of power SUPPLY Corsair will give you plenty of choice.

Review the performance of NVIDIA specifications. Look at the specifications of strip memory bandwidth and level of DirectX support.

How to replace a video card.

  • Upgrading power supply

I recently bought a new video card and when I installed it, I got nothing but a screen empty. I was told that I may need to upgrade from my diet. I have a Compaq presario 6000 model 6ZPXE2 and it has a 220 watt power supply inside. I don't know what my card needs power is a NVida GForce 512 MB AGP and I was wondering if I can upgrade and what information and precautions I need to know. Is it possible to upgrade up to 300. 350 or 400 watts?

Hello spunnie, I checked the specifications of your video Nvidia GeFrorce 512 MB AGP 6600GT card.

It shows that it takes a 300W power supply minimum system for this video card.

This lack of power supply of power can indeed be the reason that the system shows no video, but it could also be that the card itself could be faulty. I bought many items off of eBay that have delivered to me and prove to be defective.

To be honest, I also received many items in good condition as shown.

I would say at least a power of 400 watts, many being somewhat underated power supplys.

You can search for a power supply with the 400 watt or capacity so that physically gets in your case.

You may need to cut the existing power, at least enough to get some measures in this regard, without disconnecting the cables if you can.

With all these devices installed on your system, now I'm really surprised, that it would not even start with the current power of 220 watts. You are just as, or even above the maximum of the existing 220 watt PSU.

    I hope this helps.

Question: I will lose all functions of e/s (VGA, USB ports, ethernet port, input audio & outputs) on the graphics card integrated if I update to an EVGA GT619?

Regarding the power supply: what are the specifications for a better diet which is virtually "plug-and - go" compatible with the Office of CQ5624P? " (between 400W to 500W).

I'm not a great player, I'm looking for a way to use a 50 "flat screen and my pc monitor at base of household use, movies and low end games... Help appreciated... Thank you.

    Hello again FLknights,

I can't make a recommendation, but I can give you some information. First of all, the graphics card you are looking at is a PCI Express 2.0 x 16, and who can worry because you do not have a PCI Express 2.0 x 16 slot on your Board. If you are concerned don't be there is no difference that he connects on your Board, so it should work fine.

Looking at the two UCP will work and both leave you with room for growth if you decide to go this route. You certainly need to change the power supply though as the 250 watt installed is not sufficient for the needs of new cards 300watts.

In addition, the graphics card supports the operating system of Windows XP to Windows 8. For me, it would mean that you should also make sure that when you go to turn off the chart embedded in the BIOS you also enable Legacy Support or material according to what you see.

I hope this helps. Thanks again for your post on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Compaq Presario 2034NX. N power supply video card update

I have a Compaq Presario 2034NX and want to get an upgrade of the installed video card (for a HDMI output, etc.).  I know that I have to spend my diet as well, for new power requirements.

I am interested in (after-sales) part 3 parts, not "genuine HP/Compaq", to save costs on this box of 7 year and longer.

    (A) what version of PCI-Express is the slot on the MBoard?

    (B) what form of power factor should be purchased for?  ATX?  12V?

    (C) is there a special condition of type MOE for video work in Compaq Presario PCI-Express slot card, or will more 3rd party (after-sales) cards work?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Is the Compaq Presario PC?  If Yes, then put a standard size ATX power supply will work as well as several video cards PCI-E x 16.

Most of NVIDIA video cards require a minimum of a 300 Watt power supply.  Most of ATI video cards require a power supply of + 400 watt mimium.

1 HP didn't post the version of PCI-E slot, but I suspect 1.x. It should support most of the cards PCI-E 2.0 with a few exceptions.

    2. a stand size ATX power supply will fit (5.5x3.4x5.9).

    3. the video card chosen must be associated with a power supply to support its power requirements.

How much budget do you see for the video card and the power suppy.  You have special requirements of video connection? (HDMI, DVI, VGA)  What applications are you planning to use with the new video card?

Open your PC and a few measurement in parallel with the PCI-E x 16 slot to see how long of a video card will fit. The adjacent slot on the PCI-E x 16 slot must be vacant if a larger video card is being considered. Look at the motherboard, and ensures that the components on the motherboard will not interfere with the installation of the video card.

  • Compaq Presario SR5710F upgrade the video upon hearing the motherboard cannot handle high power supp

What is the best graphics card upgrade which can my Compaq Presario SR5710F can support? I'm ready to upgrade the power also, but hear that the motherboard do not put anything above 350 watts regardless of power.

You can install any PCIe x 16 video card you want. The limiting factor is going to be the power supply. More power the longer video card POWER supply. About what you hear about the motherboard, I found nothing to that effect. To qoute request-leo,' I heard a matter of concern that a power high power can somehow 'forcing' the power on the computer, resulting in overheating and burnout. Nothing could be further from the truth. A power supply provides power in response to the need; It does not matter where power grow. If your computer only needs 100 watts, then a 500 Watt power supply will only provide 100 watts. Why have a 500 Watt power supply? For the use of 'pic' (sometimes material will require 'sudden' power, as at the beginning upward or under heavy load) and for future expansion. »

It is better to have too much power too littleand to get the right size. By that I mean the physical size - come in many standard sizes out there, and they are not interchangeable.
