PowerConnect 2816 Wake on Lan - need help

Hello

I have two 2816 switch with the latest Firmware and Default Setup.

I'm not able to send Wake on Lan for some Dell Optiplex 9020, 9010 customers.
I'm looking for easy installation, so WoL works.

Dish Network 192.168.0.0/24, most Ports are set at 100 / 1000...
I tried even Port settings with all speeds of Port...

I have several customers on a Switch Cisco 2948 and it s here, no problem...

Thanks in advance

I will deploy a GPO to all customers disable the quick start tomorrow.

I might be able to put via GPP.  In my view, it is essential is:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power\HiberbootEnabled

(Updated)

GPO settings are made and customers are now in offline mode.

Almost all customers with disable Fast Boot now listen Magic package.
Dell 2816 show ports that until and WoL works very well.

Problem seems to be resolved,

Thank you

  • R7000 WiFi fast, SLOW by cable/LAN - need help

I'm on a R7000 connected to a 6141 Motorola with Comcast. Provisioned at 100 Mbps + with Comcast.

5 ghz wifi, I'm 123 Mbps + speed, but on my LAN connections, the peaks at about 33 MB/s speed.

I fiddled with all I can think about, or discover, nothing helps. Tried downgrading the firmware = zero difference. I'm back on V1.0.4.30. I tried to disable all QOS and WMM, nothing.

What is going on? Ideas? This incredibly frustrating to be paying for that speed and get 25% of it on my wired devices

WOW - that was the Holy CAT5. Just switched my computers to a CAT6 and voila... from 33 to 125 Mbit/s like that.

Well... If someone has a prob with LAN's slow speeds, check your cables and get rid of the shit CAT5.

  • Pavilion p6232it - Wake On Lan feature does not

    Hello

I work as a system administrator and having 5 of these p6232it on LAN workstations. Product no: VS351AA-ABZ build No.: 94CEv6PrA3, and the BIOS revision is 5.07 (2009-07-06). I can't use the Wake-On-Lan feature, although all other machines (especially s-HP and IBM-s 43) on LAN are able to wake up when the signal is sent to them.

I tried different settings in the BIOS - did not help.

I looked at the specs of the motherboard via: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01746799

It says that the ethernet controller is Realtek 8111 DL, so I found it's specifications at: http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/productsView.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&ProdID=193

It is clear that it supports Wake-on-LAN and wake up remote assistance. Intel G43 Express Chipset also supports this feature, but there is no setting for it in the BIOS. I tried to find the update of the BIOS for that motherboard but had no success.

My questions are: is the function WOL implemented on this specific motherboard? How to activate it?

    I would appreciate any advice.

You will need to install a PCI or PCIe x 1 card network to enable WOL. That function is not installed in the Pavilion p6232it desktop computer BIOS.

I came across a similar problem during a network turnkey installation here in the Netherlands. I installed as an Intel Pro/1000 GT PCI network cards.

  • for Compaq 6000 of Wake on lan

    Hello

Just bought a HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF PC second hand

My problem is simple, Power On LAN works if the machine is in "standby", but not if turned off.

Yes the network LED turns on, but the motherboard is still as built, so the BIOS needs updating.

But before that, I would like to know if it is the problem or a second network adapter

    solve my problem?

    Thank you.

    Concerning

  • NIC teaming on ESX4.1 with Dell PowerConnect 2816

I'm stuck trying to get partnering work... I hope someone can help!  I'm under ESXi 4.1 (vSphere), on a server with 2 GB for a Dell PowerCOnnect 2816 cards, supporting 802.3ad

Here's what I'm doing and the result:

    1. I added a second NETWORK adapter under vswitch0 properties (in ESXi 4.1)

    2. I went to vswitch0 |  Port properties then the consolidation of NETWORK cards and set the active adapters and as road based on IP Hash load balancing

3 apply/close my way and ESXi now shows 2 map NETWORK interface connected to the vswitch (and everything still works fine).

Question 1: Shouldn't I lose connection to ESXi at this point?

    4. I go to the page OpenManage and have setup a group LAG (1) with load balancing the value "Layer 3" (which should be the IP Hash I think)

    5. I add 2 ports to the LAG group

    6. I lose my connection to the server.  If I remove the ports in the Group LAG then the connection comes back.

ABOVE 2: why the connection disappear?  Expected the cluster NIC sync/speak to the LAG on my switch?

1: you can always access ESXi through TSM (Tech Support Mode) of the local console. This article explains how to:

    http://KB.VMware.com/kb/1017910

If something goes wrong and you need to reset the network configuration, you need the command-line tools esxcfg-vswitch and esxcfg-vmknic. See the help pages for these commands for more details how to use (there also many guides online as http://www.2vcps.com/2009/11/22/esx-commands-esxcfg-vswitch/)

Also, there esxcfg-cfgbackup who should be able to create a backup and restore it later if necessary, but I have never used this before ordering. Seems simple.

2: I do not think that it is replaced by default, it should inherit the policy level superior vSwitch.

  • Wake on LAN - AirPort Extreme

I'm trying to configure the Wake on LAN for my AirPort Extreme and Windows 7 PC, reboot with my iPad.  It works fine when the iPad is on the local network, but no power on the PC when I'm not on my network domestic.  I put airport to the port before 9 to the PC as directed, and made sure the PC has been configured to accept magic packets.  Any help?

Apple wake on lan system is different... and there is a good chance the router from Apple not go to work.

The best and easiest around the issue is to install a different router... and use airport extreme for the wireless. Make sure the PC is connected to the main router although no airport.

  • Wake on Lan for a Mac Mini running Leopard does not

Don't know where to best this post, but here's.  I'm trying to set up a Mini as a server of music for my audio system.  The Mini is a core 2 duo with 1 GB of RAM of 2009 I think.  Can I upgrade to Snow Leopard (possibly Lion/10.7 if I improve memory, what can I do anyway).  The mini is on a local network using a Netgear router and is only connected through wifi.  No ethernet.  The Mini is connected to a DAC by USB, and which is connected to the audio system.

I want to run this without screen and keyboard and rely on my iPhone or my MBAir to control the Mini via screen sharing.  I want to leave the Mini sleep don't no need then to wake up when I want music.  Problem is, I can't get the Mini to wake up.  I tried the Wake on Lan and other tools of waking distance so I can start playing the music, but I can't seem to wake up.

I have the correct MAC address and IP address (I booked a local IP address for him).  I'm sure that the two computers are on the same network.  I put the Mini to wake on lan in energy saver prefs.

    Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have not 10.5 available now and just ask...

In Sys Prefs is the Mini on Wake for administrator access? (Can't quite rememer what pref pane is in.)

  • 800 G2: 2 800 all-in-one, wake on lan to PXE but not hard

I have a problem with 18 800 2 all in UNITS. I can easily start none of them using wake on lan but, they all want to PXE boot. Nothing I've tried to change in the BIOS has made a difference. I need to start Windows.

    Any suggestions?

    @Dan2495

Go to the BOOT options in the BIOS.

Uncheck the option of network (PXE) boot.

Then go to the Options of integrated device.

Value Wake On LAN for a hard driver start.

    Hello

You can wake up on LAN laptop if you run a query to a service that is running on the laptop.
But you cannot wakeup the laptop if you access a data or similar
You will need special software that send a magic packet.

Check the Wake On Lan tool. Its freeware and you can download this from different pages

  • HP 15-f209wm with Intel Celero: need help with a unusual amenities. Install windows 7 on a new computer windows 10.

    Hello

I am really puzzled here and need help you guys!

A friend of mine, who is not computer savy is used to windows 7 and would like to 'return' in Windows 7 to a windows 10.
She recently bought a new computer:
Black HP 15.6 "15-f209wm with Intel Celeron N2840 4 GB memory 500 GB (windows 10)

And had me working on it to install it as a Windows 7.
The problem that I didn't forsee is that after I installed wiondows 7 Nothing worked because all the installed drivers were too 'new' for the Windows 7 operating system at least that is what I think the problem is.

The main thing that doesn't work is the USB ports and Wifi,
and I cannot find drivers to make this 'connection', this 'bridge' of sorts between Windows 7 operating system and the hardware inside the computer.  And I can't find solutions on the net!

An idea that I'm trying is to copy and paste drivers from another computer Windows 7 HP, on it. But I don't know if that's going to walk.

I am really confused with this and need your expertise!

    We thank you in advance.

    * Note *.
This computer has not been upgraded from a previous version of Windows.
I tried the Driver Booster to see if it would be the auto scan, detect and install fix it but it didn't.
I got the Lan/Ethernet is finally working.

    Hello:

This driver installs usb, not the chipset driver controllers... (the last driver that I posted on my first answer).

Download, unzip and run the setup.exe file.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25687/us B-3-0-Intel-USB-3-0-Driver-for-Intel-NUC6i-x-SY

According to the specifications of product for your laptop, the USB driver above must have worked.

If the usb driver 3 above fails to install the usb controller...

Please view the the hardware ID for the USB controller requiring driver.

To find the hardware ID, go the Device Manager and click on the usb controller requiring driver.

Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the window of the USB controller.

Now you will see a drop-down list of property, and it will be set to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the 2nd (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

And make sure that all windows updates are installed. SP2 is important to be installed for some devices.

    Hello

Wake Up on Lan option would work if send you a magic packet to the remote machine (laptop).

I have no experience using the Android app, who knows if it works properly

Try the other method. For example, using software such as wake on Lan for Windows (GUI) graphical user Interface

Google for it to download this software.

In addition, go to the device-> LAN card Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab and check here if the WOL is activated too
