PowerEdge chassis compatibility 13th generation

Hi all. I have a Poweredge T320 with 8 x 3.5 "hot chassis. I would like to buy an another poweredge T630 with an 18 x 3.5 "hot chassis and move some disks installed on the T320 for the T630. To move all disks are SATA 7.2 k 4 TB.

I have compatibility problems? The target controller is H730 and the controller of the source is configured as non-raid H310.

I am especially interested in the mechanical/electrical problems (for example not compatibile caddies and so forth) in possible data loss on moved all the readers.

Thank you in advance.

Svghido,

KG1Ch is the 3.5 carrier taken in charge for the server. The reader, while showing not as a disc procided, did care corresponding supported players. So there is a good chance that the drive should work.

  • Any plans for more models in the 13th generation?

    Hello

I realize that it is unlikely to get a response, but I would ask still thinking...

Are there plans for more models in the 13th generation PowerEdge line up, specifically at the lower end? Say, a T330? A web search reveals a few tips, but nothing definitive.

    Thanks for any information!

    Hello.

We are not aware of all the future plans for the release of 13G low servers. The 13 lower G servers available on the market today are R430 & T430.

  • Dell Power Edge T110 and T110 II chassis compatibility

What are the differences between the T110 and T110II chassis, or are they the same?
We had a small accident and T110II chassis has been destroyed.
Could install us T110II motherboard to T110 chassis, the façade is compatible (where LEDs and USB)? And etc?
( T110II MB, PSU and HARD drive is fine).

    YasskyLight,

The chassis between the T110 and T110 II should be identical, as is the control panel with LEDs and USB. So you should be able to use the right control panel of the T110 for use with the rest of the T110II.

Let me know if it helps.

    Hello

I'm looking to set up a server Dell Poweredge 800 as an ESXi server 4.0 or 5.0.

The previous server I install does not support virtualization and ended up not to support the 64 bit OS.

I do not have much for the performance because I have very minimal course some 64-bit Linux servers, but want to make sure it will work properly.

  • R410 chassis Difference?

    Hi all

We have 2 R410 (Gen 1 and 2).  I just went to make a background of basket SAS Hot Swap (0F678M) of a unit to another.  However, for some reason, the slots that slides on the backplane are different on each one.  I thought that the chassis on the generation 1 and 2 are the same and it was just an update for the Xeon processor mobo?

Has anyone seen this problem before?

Here are some photos to show you:

    OK, that's the answer...

For anyone else for that matter... You can't pass a cables R410 chassis to accommodate a basket Hotswap SAS background.  For some reason any Dell made the slightly different chassis instead of making the same design!

  • PXI_CLK10

I just added a PXI-6653 to my chassis PXI-1011, in slot 2 and trying to replace the basket bottom 10 MHz native PXI_CLK10 with high precision an OCXO in the 6653. The goal is to provide a divided (by a factor of 2) reference clock, which has the accuracy of the OCXO. I run this in LV 7.1, NOR-MAX 4.5 etc..

The attached vi first connects OCXO to PXI_CLK10_IN, as a replacement for the native clock precisely this one. This part comes from "Clock.vi of road NO - SYNC"

Then, from 'NO-SYNC Generate DDS Signal, fracture and Route.vi' DDS takes the exact PXI_CLK10 of backplane and brings it to CLKOUT full frequency, but also a more bass that is divided by a factor of two to the EPR of PFI0.

The problem is that when I have the clock frequency to measure CLKOUT, there native backplane clock frequency (lack of precision), or approximately +/-4-5 ppm. I calibrated in fact my meter frequency by porting the OCXO out CLKOUT with the first vi, and it is calibrated to +/-0.5 ppm today.

My problem would be with the PXI-1011 chassis compatibility problems? I read in another thread on someone with a PXI-1033, which had put the switch S1. I can't find any S1 or other switches config on this chassis.

Someone at - he had similar experiences with the PXI-6653 and former chassis?

Thanks in advance for your comments,

    Kurt

    Peter,

Thanks for having a look at this. Yes, initially I brought OCXO to CLK_OUT, NOR - way Clock.vi SYNC and adjusted using the cal on the K & B (it has only 7-1/2 digit precision) for 10 MHz. This could serve as a basis to determine if I managed to replace the native frame PXI_CLK10 with the more precise OCXO.

The fact that the attached vi gives a PXI_CLK10 read only 10,00008 to CLK_OUT MHz gives to think that my chassis is unable to accept the OCXO on the PXI_CLK10_IN line. Referring to the manual for the chassis PXI-1011, under Section 1, 'Reference of system clock', missing the verbiage I should be able to do this. Other chassis, such as the "1000/B, ' 1042 and even the ' 1010 have verbiage that PXI_CLK10_IN line can be operated by an external source." So, I suspect that an upgrade of the chassis is in my future.

Thanks again for the reality check!

  • Problem with OpenManage integration for vCenter - OMSA status: update required

    Hello

We have a problem with the configuration of OpenManage integration on a vSphere 5.5 U2 Cluster. We have deployed IMO for vCenter v 2.3.0 build 290 aircraft, and we have installed manually OMSA VIB v7.4.0.2 on our 5.5. U2 ESXi hosts.

The question we face is respect for vSphere host - when we start the Wizard "Fix Non compliant vSphere Host" it displays the correct version of the OMSA - 7.4.0.2 but OMSA status is "required update".

Whe test us the connection to hosts using "Test the connection profile", it hangs at 0% and will be never finished.

Also in the OpenManage integration in vSphere Client "Frimware" tab option is grayed out.

Please indicate how we can make this work?

    Concerning

    Milan

Well, I did some research more and found that ESXI 5.5 U1 and U2 don't are not supported by OMSA right now.

    FTP://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_software/esuprt_virt_solutions/Dell-Mgmt-plugin-for-VMware-Center-2.3_Release%20Notes_en-us.PDF

ESXi 5.5 U1 and U2 are supported only for the OMIVV on the servers of 12th and 13th generation who are capable of out-of-band management and require no OMSA must be installed on the host system. We intend to add a supported of the OMSA version at a later date.

    Thank you

  • OME 2.0.1.2222 will add 13 gen servers for inventory

Since a wile racking 13th generation of Dell in our data centers, we started and I noticed that most of them is not discovered by MOE.

They are in the same network as the 'old' (gen 12) that have been discovered, with the same settings, the same username/password, enabled IPMI, SNMP enabled etc.

On all these hosts that I see in the lifecycle sign on the next line, repeat several times "properly connected using root, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and WS - Man."

    iDRAC8 firmware version is 2.10.10.10

Please hit me with some ideas

    Hi Stef,

    A few questions:

    • Can confirm what protocol you are using to perform the discovery?
    • Are you able to connect to servers using this Protocol through the troubleshooting tool?
    • The required ports are open on these new servers as required by MOE for communication between server and OME?
    • Also, is there a specific IP range where you are not able to discover servers?
  • CAN the c series modules and drivers XNET and Ethernet expansion chassis cRIO compatibility issues

    Hello

I encountered a problem with my current setup which was not picked up by the tool advise cRIO or by the engineer of applications OR that we used to check our configuration before starting the project.  It turns out that the NI 9853 CAN modules require a XNET driver that is not compatible with the NI 9149 expansion chassis.

We currently have a system with a cRIO NI 9068 with general IO and some CAN controller and CAN open modules in a carrycot and an Ethernet NI9149 with more general IO expansion chassis and more CAN and CAN open an another pod remote modules and all of this should work under water, so I can not move the modules of the expansion chassis to the chassis controller without a lot of overhaul of the system and equip and a team of angry engineers and technicians.

I have developed the FPGA code for the 9068 OR and have CAN and CAN open networks works with happiness.  Then I tried to copy the same FPGA code on the expansion chassis and it compiles, but when I try to launch it I get the error-63184 code.  After long calls OR support, and tries to install the missing drivers on the expansion chassis, we discovered that XNET is not compatible with this chassis.

Can anyone suggest the best course of action?  Is there an expansion chassis Ethernet that will support XNET?  I have here no information online about this compatibility issue that I can't find?

I'll be communication with DIRECTLY, but from previous experience of the "odd" questions, I know the community often hold the key.  Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Thank you, Ed

It's official.  CAN open modules are not compatible with the expansion chassis.  I have them moved to RIO and will get the upgraded pods.

    Thank you

  • PowerEdge 2950 & SAS card compatibility

We have a Poweredge Server 2950 W2K3 SP2 running. The server already has a PERC 5 / i controller as well as a card SCSI Ultra320 SCSI Adaptec 39320 a. is there a SAS card I could buy for this server and the ability to connect to a Powervault 124 t. with a SAS LTO-5 drive system?

    Hello Clamped_IT,

You can put in a SAS 6 gb card in the 2950 & get the PV 124 t LTO5 to run because this is a valid configuration.  What you need to do is to make sure you have a 8 X PCIe available free map of SAS6gb must go to the 8 x PCIe.  Now according to risers that are in your 2950, they come in 2 different options, see below:

Three connectors for expansion on two different mounting options:

    Two 64 bit/133 MHz PCI - X and 1 x 8 PCI Express full height, half length

    or

    2 x 8 PCI Express and a x 4 PCI Express

Here is a link to our compatibility matrix & if you look at page 8, it shows you which card is necessary for a PV t 124. FTP://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/common/PowerVault-124t_Reference%20Guide_en-us.PDF

  • PowerEdge T410 & Xeon X 5680 compatibility

Anyone know if the PowerEdge T410 with 1.12.0 BIOS is compatible with of Xeon X 5680? The release notes indicate the system is compatible with the 5600 series processors, but I am unable to get the server to actually start with them installed.

    What I tried:

    Reset the BIOS - exclusion-

Reflashed BIOS to 1.12.0 - no - Go-

Removal of all other processors and RAM leaving only bank 1 - No - Go-

Installed one (do not have another) "verified" CPU X 5650 130 w 6-Core-ALL-GOOD.

I now feel that BIOS 1.12.0 is NOT compatible with processors X 5680.

Can someone help and check this for me? My Google-Fu returns no results...

Thanks in advance for your time...

    > Aaron

The fact that the .pdf you linked to is buried several layers on the Dell site solidifies only my argument that it shouldn't take this much effort to find valid information such as those.

In addition, the 1.12.0 BIOS update simply indicates further support for processors 5600 'COLLECTION '. The specsheet.pdf for the server indicates 5600 'SERIES' both of which are easier to find than the .pdf that you linked to (i.e. Google Poweredge t410)

The technicalguide.pdf you linked to only reinforces my feeling that Dell must be clearer about their documentation. Example 6.1 Overview (table 8) the Poweredge t410 Server supports up to two processors. It then lists 95 Watt and 130 watts. Moreover, it gives reference to a set of processors supported but not going only up to the X 5650. It gives no reference what BIOS version was used during the test, but the stamp on the .pdf indicates July of 2011, but the latest version of BIOS is starting in 2013. I hope that these examples, you'll be able to see that just "assume" things like "good indicators" can trip-up the more experienced Sys Admins.

And FWIW the 5675 X are the fastest processors more high watt TDP that can run in the T410. Thanks for me to understand that...

No response is necessary, because I don't care anymore or I'll read.
