PowerPC G5 w/10.5 - compatible printer

I had the computer of my father from an old macmini with 10.4 installed on a PowerPC G5 with 10.5 installed. (a small update, but not by much, I know) I now seem to have problems printing. I had picked up through Freecycle a printer for several years - a Canon Pixma MG3220. It is not really compatible with their computer / wasn't able to use the scanner part / but I was able to print from it issues. Now I switched to computers. There is no compatible drive. I have no idea how I managed to do print before. But the weekend online research be on a stand that everything is now requiring a computer intel. Even readers of Gutenprint (requires 10.6 or more now) is when I turn to you, wonderful people for help. Can you direct me to a site that has a drive for this for older, non-intel computers? OR recommend another printer that will be compatible? But there is no need to be a scanner as well. A simple printer is all that is needed for my father, old person. Oh, he should be an airprint, like myself and my mother use / print from iPads.

Any help / recommendations would be wonderful.

Thank you

Rebecca

Your best option is to visit the Canon support site. Here you can find the drivers for this specific model. Make sure what you're looking for a compatible driver because all available drivers can be to newer versions using Intel processors instead of PPC processors.

    For now, we don't have an Airprint-compatible printer. Future products may include, but are not currently. Products that are compatible Airprint are designed this way, so no upgrade will take place for previous models.

    Other fonts related problems with HP print drivers, HP printers work fine for many users of Firefox. More problematic with Firefox are some Dell printers that are made by Lexmark and Lexmark, there are a few errors driver installation see Firefox users, the same driver that some programs problems Microsoft had in 2005.

    Like many, what works, I had good luck with the Brother printers and fairly good results with Epson printers.

  • DeskJet F4580: Compatible printer for Windows 10?

    After you have installed Windows 10 on my PC I noticed that my printer driver is not compatible, so I did some looking on the Microsoft Compatibility Center and they said that it is compatible for Windows 10. I'm going to support HP driver and search Windows 10 driver for my printer and there was a result for the download of PS_AIO_06_B209a-m_140_408 - 5.exe. Means of PS Photosmart but I went ahead and downloaded and as I thought was not for the Deskjet F4580 even HP it clearly lists under him. I guess HP downloaded the wrong driver and I don't know that there is a driver F4580 for Windows 10 there. But my concern was that the driver for the Deskjet F4580 listed is for a different printer.

    Just checked today updates for printer drivers and looks like they downloaded correct. Tested and working. Thank you HP

  • Need Compatible printer for Dell Inspiron 560

    I wonder if someone can help me please, I tried to work backwards (from my ink) to find a printer for my office with no luck and am at my wits end. I got a HP PSC (printer/scanner/copier) when I got my HP desktop computer, but then I upgraded to my current Dell a few years before and never hang upward my printer I have he didn't need right now. Time passed, and I tried to print, but got an error saying that it has not been installed; I remembered that I never installed on this Dell PC when I unpacked & set up. I soon discovered that it was "not compatible" and of course, that was after (it appears) I had just bought new ink for the printer, so now he is sitting with the new ink (already open so cannot return) and unable to connect to my Dell. I looked everywhere for updates or driver updates etc, but no luck & finally HP told me that there is no way that they are compatible. He uses ink (black & tricolor) #21 & #22 cartridges so now I'm trying to find a printer that is not only compatible with my Dell but that also uses the full/new ink cartridges I have. I'd appreciate any help someone can offer, I can't afford to just buy a new printer on the site for those who work are fine, I just need to get an idea of who will work so then I know what I can get. Thank you!

    I had the impression of working with a driver/support/upgrade download updated os, thank you for your answers.

  • compatible printer for Mac OS 10.7.5

    I'm desperate trying to find a personal printer with Mac OS 10.7.5

    My old printer died, and I was able to talk to the shops, technicians with a broken accent, :-(, for hours and cannot find a new printer.  I can't update my OS if I have, also, because I use iMovie 6 and I guess that recent Macs use only any more.  We seniors want to be productive with what we have and I can't spend the time that we left, trying to learn of new programs, etc. etc.  Thank you. I love the apple discussions.

    I use a Canon Pixma with Lion. There are many models - try to contact Canon for recommendations on which have drivers for Lion.

  • LaserJet 1320nw: if HP printer is installed, can't print to a PictBridge compatible printer. Crashes all apps-10 Windows

    I have a new machine, with a lot of power and RAM. Everything works fine except... impression on my Laserjet 1320nw. I installed the latest universal driver 64-bit. I can print without problem test page. But, if I try to print from almost any other application, the application crashes, and I have no option other than to force it to close. The only one not affected application is Chrome because it has its own print engine.  The printer is on my network, and there is no printing problem from other devices in the House.

    No idea where to start?

    Hi-

    I wanted to report that I found a solution. Not sure if it was the right solution, but it worked. Not sure if this is relevant to anyone else but me.

    As my printer was visible under network and on my server, I clicked on connect. He said while it is necessary to install the driver. Rather than install the last UPD PCL5 file on the HP site, I installed the Windows Update list. Not sure what was different. All I know is that it works for all applications without crashing.

  • WiFi compatible printer

    Hello

    Looking to make a new printer.  Have an Acer desktop computer and laptop. Figure a wifi printer would be preferable.  How do I know if my desktop Aspire AX3400 top is able to connect to a wifi printer?

    Is there such a thing as a printer which can connect via wifi and USB?

    Thank you

    MIA

    Hello..

  • About half of the time that I go to print, I get a message that tells me to install a compatible printer. I'm really tired this. All solutions?

    I use Windows 7 with a PC laptop Dell, and the Dell wireless printer.  This happens all the time, only half.  Sometimes I have to restart my computer several times to get the computer to recognize that there is a printer.

    Any solution must be sought from the Dell support/help site that is specific to your printer model or by using the Dell printer diagnostics that have been installed during the installation of the Dell printer software

  • Printing problem in XP with compatible printer share

    Hi, I searched for a few hours for more information on my problem, but while I can find a lot of Fusion printing problems, none is quite like mine I think.

    OS = Leopard / printer is HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 USB / VM = Windows XP SP3 / Machines virtual _ settings _ printers = enabled and corresponds to the default printer

    I have not installed the printer drivers / software that came with the printer on the virtual machine.

    The printer appears in printers and faxes XP. In the comment in the printer properties box, it says 'Printer created by TPAutoConnect', the location is indicated by "0;".

    When I click on Print Test Page XP shows me a test page is printing. Back to OS X, the print queue of the printer indicates the following...

    Status = printing

    Name = Test Page

    User = username

    When = earlier

    At the top of the window, a little less 'print 'Page of Test'." I get "printer busy (Status: 0x00002e9).

    And that's what I get. No printing. To avoid confusion, the printer worked very well for OS X.

    All suggestions welcome. Should I, for example, to install the drivers under XP?... my interpretation of the description of the features of merger 2.05 in this regard is that I did not.

    Thanks in advance.

    Setting a DAY = Just closed my VM and merger altogether, and then my printer suspended for life and printed the Test Page in Windows XP printer! Ideally, of course, I don't want to have to close to get my impression made

    If the impression of Fusion is not working properly for you, then you can disable this feature and then share the printer in OS X and installing the printer in Windows in the usual manner with pointing to a shared printer.

    ==========

    1. turn off the checkbox activated under printers in the target Virtual Machine settings.

    2. turn on printer sharing in OS X and allow the target printer to share.

    3. in Windows, add a new printer and add it as a network printer by using the following URL Convention.

    http://Computer_Name:631/printers/Queue_Name_of_target_Printer

    If you use linked by a bridge, you can also use:

    http://Host_IP_Address:631/printers/Queue_Name_of_target_Printer

    Or if you use NAT, you must use:

    http://Host_vmnet8_IP_Address:631/printers/Queue_Name_of_target_Printer

    Examples:

    The shared network printer is a HP LaserJet 4050N printer on my MacBook Pro, and the following information is relevant to this.

    ComputerName = MacBookPro

    Host_vmnet8_IP_Address = 192.168.51.1

    Queue_Name_of_target_Printer = HP_LaserJet_4050

    So, either of the following examples work in my Windows XP Virtual Machine.

    http://MacBookPro:631/printers/HP_LaserJet_4050

    http://192.168.51.1:631/printers/HP_LaserJet_4050
