practical USB 6002

Hello

New to LabVIEW and looking for a way to practice as well as online training. I have a USB 6002 and was hoping to learn to connect, communicate and actually read data from it. I don't have any instruments of any kind that I'm able to join him and wanted to know if someone could tell me if it is possible to connect an electronic part like a capacitor, resistance, coil, etc... This unit so that it would send me at least something that I could practice creating a vi to capture and store the data. I have a book but almost no experience with LabView, I'm not even sure where to start. I am trying to use the DAQ assistant, but nothing comes the device, I expect because there is nothing trendy top. Ter again any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

    Hello!

    I'm doing a PCB which will include some pressure sensors, thermocouple, bnc connector and a Connector Type B USB.
    I was wondering if there is an app note or guidelines for the use of an external USB connector, I need to keep in mind any filtering or suppression of emi? or is it included in the OEM Board?

    Thank you!.

    Keep short cords, together and away from the tracks of power.  No, no, not really.

    I'll put in a few TVS diodes for protecting against ESD, but these are not needed.

    Shoudln was exceptionally loud need of filtering or protection unless you're in a (electrically) environment.

  • grabbing the mouse usb speed

    In brief: I want a usb mouse for it's X and Y of the speed of queries on a regular interval.  How do I?

    What I have: My current attempt is to configure the mouse as a device GROSS VISA and grabbing the data via a suspending VISA USB on the loop (attached) event.  It works fine; My problem with this approach is that it returns stamps on uneven intervals, i.e. each time that an event is raised or the time-out occurs.

    My ideas: Although I certainly would not stifle all other solutions to the original problem, I have some ideas of my own, that you may be able to help with, too, if you think that one is in fact the correct approach to the original problem.  Ideas:

    1. I read through chip communication practical USB (here and here), and I can't say I learned enough of a gentleman to understand in all, they gave me the idea that maybe instead of an interrupt event, I could use a USB Control VISA Office to enter the data on demand.  Nugget #2 described the Warlock-ery (i.e. %valeurs and so forth at the entrance) necessary for the VISA USB Control in the GET_DESCRIPTOR vi.    I have attached my simple VI for how to do this.  I have not the slightest idea of what are the values to provide to catch X speeds and there, however.
    2. It may be heresy to some or you, but I heard there may be some device or other which converts the digital output of the mouse in the analog signals, which could then be simply recorded by my DAQ card.  This could also be done via some creative arduino-ing (i.e. program arduino to interpret digital trains of the mouse, and then convert them them interpreted speeds X and Y on its analog ports).

    I think once I am able to set up "on-demand of sampling", so to say, X data and there, this is a pretty simple question for this tie in the bigger than the mouse recording system clock will be a part of.  I look forward to hearing it as the input and ideas you all have.  Fire away!

  • Suddenly, Dell U2311H monitor two usb ports not working after 4 years

    Hello

    I've had this U2311H monitor for 4 years now, and it is connected to the Dell XPS 8300 desktop.

    The monitor has two USB ports on the left and for some strange reason, than all the two has stopped working recently.

    I did the following:

    1. disconnect the power to the monitor cable, then plug it back in to the monitor.

    2. unplug the upstream connect the USB cable (between the monitor and the desktop) and re.

    3. move the USB upstream on a different USB port on the desktop while the monitor is off.

    Nothing helps. :(

    That I could do to make the USB ports on the monitor work? I lose 2 practical USB ports and kind of desperate.

    Thanks in advance!

    Jason

    If it was me and the U2311H seemed much, I would just get a card 4 ports USB 2.0 Hub and plug it into the XPS 8300.

  • Create signals from the software

    I am trying exteranlly trigger a camera by using its ready digital signal reading to invoke the next trigger.

    The code below triggers a pulse counter, whenever there is a signal of falling on PFI0 edge:

    camShutterOutputTask.COChannels.CreatePulseChannelTime ("Dev1/ctr0", "",)
    COPulseTimeUnits.Seconds, COPulseIdleState.Low,
    0,
    0.000001,
    (((double) exposure_time) / 1e6);

    camShutterOutputTask.Triggers.StartTrigger.ConfigureDigitalEdgeTrigger ("/ PFI0/Dev1", DigitalEdgeStartTriggerEdge.Falling);
    camShutterOutputTask.Triggers.StartTrigger.Retriggerable = true;

    Right now it works very well by linking PFI0 to a USB-6002 output to test. Every time I press a button to send a signal of USB-6002, I see a shock occurs.

    However, when connecting to a physical camera, PFI0 will be connected to the display of the camera. I need a way to manually launch the first impulse on the software side move the following loop. Is it possible to do?

    Hi Joehsiao,

    How long do you expect to be taken between the time the camera receives the initial impetus until when the camera on the impulse arrives on PFI0? If it's a pretty long time, then you could just reconfigure the task for counter 0 after the initial pulse. For example, you set up initially to generate a pulse based on a one-time event (application startup, event button user, time, etc) and then once it generates this initial impetus, clear this task (or change), so that the meter to exit task is then configured to trigger the signal coming from the PFI 0.

  • How to use DAQmx create linear scale

    Hello. I have an output of an amplifier which is 10 mV/V, which is read by a USB-6002. This amplifier voltage range is 0 to 200 volts. Have tested the DAQmx create scale Vi, I don't understand how it works. Looked at the other posts here for answers, I still haven't understood how it works. As a first step, it says that it uses the y = mx + b equation for it. I don't know what the slope refers to except if it is the angle of the line. If someone would have an example that explains how it works, it would be great. I also tried to look at an example but could not find one. Thank you

    Here is an explanation "improvised" y = mx + b.  If you think of 'x' as the input and 'y' as output, then you can consider "m" as the gain, and "b" corresponds to the offset, the output that you can read with zero entry.

    If you think of this equation from an amplifier, many are designed to have zero output when there is no entry.  In other words, b = 0.  If you have a gain of 10 mV/V (which I guess means that a 1V input would give an output 10mV, then m, usually called "the slope" (which is the slope of the curve of output), serait.010/1 = 0.01.)

    Note you describe the range of the amplifier as 0-200V, so the output will be 0 - 2V, well inside the ±10V USB-6002.

  • Integration problem

    Hello everyone and thanks for all the help that you have visited, have me here where I am with my project. I'm now trying to integrate my VISA with the USB-6002 device to write data in my spreadsheet. I tried in vain to get my data from the VISA unit to the spreadsheet to my DAQ hardware. He wants to create tunnels outside the while loop, however, I would like to have data transfer within the structure of the case, if that's possible. Thank you.

    If the code has been able to run successfully before trying to implement the functionality of worksheet? I think that your mistakes are not associated with spreadsheet functionality.

    Here are some general tips to solve these specific DAQmx errors that might help.

  • Digital inputs only noisy when the laptop is plugged

    I had problems with loops of Earth and power supplies for laptop in the past.  But it is the first time I got it so wrong that it makes the digital inputs which are both related to the ground and the debounced software cannot be used.

    It is NOT material OR.  It's a DT9816 of data translation, a USB DAQ Multifunction with small budget.   The laptop with the problem is a refurbished Dell, with a very obvious not Dell PSU who throws to the top of the warning in the BIOS and scales back from the processor.  (Danger Will Robinson!)

    The problem with the digital entries shows only upward on the Dell when it is plugged into a power outlet.  On all other machines and with the printer unplugged Dell, digital inputs floating.  But those that I have attached to the Earth is rock solid and work very well.

    What surprises me is more than the noise is so bad that even tied to the ground with a half second debounce, I get always false triggers.  I have not brought to power, but considering that it sounds really loud, I suspect that it looks pretty bad.

    I think I'll try a powered USB hub.  If this does not work, then I think that the customer will have to replace the power supply on the laptop.

    However, I was surprised.  I used a lot of USB DAQ hardware, and it's the first time I've never seen a problem like this.  The NI USB 6002 I tested on this same laptop does not seem to show the same problems.  Even if it is true that this is a different software and the test was brief.

    I'm curious to know if other developers have found something similar in the past.

    I can confirm that using a USB hub external powered eliminated the problem of noise in the original post.

    Interesting things.  I had not seen this before.  Now, I wish I had again the NI DAQ USB I had here last week so I could test that.

    Looks like I'll use a hub powered on this project.  But I think I will recommend always replace this power.  Although a lot of noise coming from the power supply, probably isn't good for nothing plugged it... or even sitting near him.

  • Nonlinear scale problem

    Hello. I'm changing to the input of an amplifier that I thought was linear, but it is not. I have a 0 - 5V signals from NI DAQ (USB-6002) card that is driving an amplifier 0-200V. This amplifier has what is "Blood pressure monitor" port BNC labeled on the front of the amplifier. In addition, on the front of the amplifier is a label that reads "10mV/1V. These are the raw numbers of LabVIEW:

    1V = 0.20V

    2V = 0.58

    3V = 0.96V

    4 = 1.35v and

    5 = 1.73V.

    I need to put this on the scale so that:

    1V = 40V

    2V = 80.6V

    3V = 120 V

    4V = 161V and

    5 V = 201.4V

    Thank you for your help.

    Well, given your data, here's how to change the values after the polynomial coefficients. (you can remove the rest of the code after playing with polynomial order, etc.).

  • Get strange results

    Hello. I have LV2014, using an acquisition of data USB-6002, password of my Vi attached "2015". Vi manages the way I need to, although I don't know that I probably could have programmed it better. I have is with my tension in my merchant power amp. The power amp is driven by the USB-6002, and then provides a signal of 0-2 mV to the USB-6002, which is then put on the scale to represent 0-200Vcc. On the main Vi ' displacement piezoelectric test launch v.2 ", façade, tab"Program Run", under the title of the communication are my places of coms. The issue I'm having is with the one labeled "Volts from amplify". When the correct execution of the Vi, under the 'tension' column of the table to the right of section of coms is reading what comes from the dealer, after is climbed. I'm having trouble getting this repetition of the tensions. Friday of last week it worked very well. No changes have been made to the Vi, over the weekend. Today, my values are not extensible and not to scale correctly. I change the values for "calibration" on the tab labeled ' Alarms/Errors', out of the façade. The table should be read 0,20,40,60,80... 200. the descaling takes place on the block diagram, in the case called "Test underway". It is labeled 'Current test voltage', as an exit after the scaling. In the folder with my main Vi is my sub - Vi that I use here. I put an O-scope on the screen of the merchant amplifier voltage and it is read correctly. I put an analog meter on the 0-200Vcc of the amp output and that's OK (0,20,40,60,80, 200). so, the only place where it might be in my Vi but I tried to re - write everything pertaining to the scale of the voltage value, but it changed nothing. In order to exclude from the USB-6002 I moved it to another channel, same problem. I know that my case "Test in Progress ' repeat the code but nothing else I tried, worked. Really, I ran into a wall here and don't know what else to try. I tried another piezoelectric device to test, but it had no effect either. I would appreciate it if you would like to see it please if there is anything I miss as well as welcome any comments you may have about my project in general, as it's my first Vi. Most pressing, however, is that I can't get a stable and reproducible value.

    Thank you

    Right, so it's supposed to increase from 0 to 5.5 by increments of 0.5, reason why you run 11 iterations with each loop. So logically, you should send a 0, 0.5, 1... 5.5 and receive the same return values. If you don't see zero as the first value, then I think that it means that you are sending on an incorrect value, or if you read at the wrong moment before he has had time to settle. Try playing with your calendar a little and confirming that the outputs are what they should be.

    If it worked to use simple DAQmx screws instead of these Subvi why not just do that? Your Subvi is waaaaay overkill in terms of start and stop tasks. You can just start each task once at the beginning and at the end stop. Otherwise I don't know what's wrong with your current setup, which usually points to timing problems.

  • Using a machine to States

    Hi all

    I have attached my project. I am trying to create a state machine which will start at 1 Volt, wait 1 second, then move to 2 Volts, transition... to 3 volts. I can't get it to go through the first iteration without problems. When it is at the second he keeps alarming on me and gives me an error-200088. I have it connected to a USB-6002 data acquisition device. If I take what I have in the case of "initialize" except without the structures of the case, I am able to enter a value in the DAQmx and whenever I change this constant, it changes the output of AO0. Put on this state machine, I can't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    What are the errors you get that you cannot interpret?

    You have a bunch of stop buttons you don't need.

    If we get to the State of replay and decided to relaunch, you don't need to reset. If you want to reset, you must close and clear the current task before doing so.

    In general, on a final State, I would spend a constant empty task for the register shift.

  • Module correct DAQ for Celesco SP2 or SP3 String Pots

    Hello! I am currently looking to develop the capacities of our laboratory by adding string pots in our toolkit of sensor. I came across a jar of string that will work for us, namely Celesco SP2 or SP3 (or the other). Here is the site where there are listed more information on these sensors:

    http://www.celesco.com/stringpots/

    SP2 is a divisor of output voltage. According to the Application engineer, a very clean DC voltage signal be sent to the pot of string SP2 so that it can generate specific measures, while the SP3 will take 24 V DC (less clean signal) sign and generate specific measures making the more expensive than SP2 SP3. (prefer to go with the best value option).

    We currently have a cDAQ-9178 chassis. Is there an analog input module OR out there that will work with the pot of string SP2 or SP3. The hope is that this module will be connected to the cDAQ chassis and the sons of the string pot turn for this add-on.

    It would be also possible to use a USB-6003 with pots of string above? Let me know and thanks for your help! I am also attaching the respective data sheets for your reference.

    Since available SP3 device accuracy is 1% of full scale (0.1 Volts), I think you can use any of these materials good markets (USB-6002 or (3). You also need to consider what kind of sampling rate you need. I imagine not too high (perhaps 10 or 100 Hz is just enough)? Depends on the speed of movement you want to check with this pot spring...?

    If you use the USB-6002, you get 4 differential channels and a 50 kHz sampling rate (but don't forget not, if you for example use 2 channels, your max rate will be half: 25 kHz per channel). 16-bit ADC, so that you get the resolution of the 10/2 ^ 16 = 0.15 mVolts the interval 0-10 Volts (0.0015% 10 volts). It is already an overdose compared to unit 1% F.S. accuracy.

    Wiring: read the 2nd page of your pdf. You have three sons. Connect the Red (+ 24V) and black (com or the PSU GND) wire to your power supply (24VDC, like you said, use a quality like Siemens brand). You can use a single 24V DC power supply to power both of your sensors (I don't know how much power they attract, but I guess not a lot), obviously connect the power supply to the two parallel electrical sensors (so that they get the same voltage).

    Connect the Green (signal 0-10 Volts of tension) and black wire your DAQ hardware (use differential pins, check the specs of the device).

  • Iconia w500 reset stuck at "Create an account for this PC" during windows install only mouse works

    I have the Acer Iconia W500 we have upgraded to Windows 10.  Due to the assumption of updated driver, I decided to reset the tablet.  I have reset the system without discs and then installing Windows, that the computer is blocked "create an account for this PC' because the USB mouse works.  I discovered that the touch screen and a keyboard are unusable during this process so I plugged a USB mouse that works very well.  But installing requires that I type a user name, and it won't let me skip this step.  Without keyboard or touch screen, I am unable to enter a user name in the field.  Thank you for your suggestions.

    Plug a keyboard instead of a mouse, you can tab between fields to be able to live without the mouse. If you do not have a practical USB keyboard, check the local thrift stores. They are generally very cheap there...

  • Can not reinstall the software/driver for the Officejet 6500 all-in-one

    I tried to 'day' the pilot on my all-in-one e710n-z printer 6500, and now I have no printer to work at all.  Installation stops at about 80% complete giving the error: Network Installation fails.  I followed all the procedures including online uninstall them, winsock reset, reinstall, install HP utility failure, disabled anti-anti-virus/firewall... nothing works.   My printer is detected by the computer and he "wants" install, but nothing works!  Wi - fi is on, and the only thing that I miss is the driver.  What is the secret of installing the HP online support site?  With the help of Windows OS 8.1.  Thanks for any help!

    Thank you so much for offering to help... This has been a very frustrating experience where I felt like I more, more was wrong.   It turns out that I solved the problem myself with a lot of trial and error and perseverance.  The location of the printer and our computers would not have allowed practical USB or ethernet connection tests.

    The computer has been grateful to the printer, but few of the functions of the printer did not work.  I kept getting notices that I need to be connected to Internet... and yet I was.   Instead, I followed every remedies proposed, and finally met and installed the HP Print & Scan Dr.   The full program would not even install, but I did use uninstall and reinstall the feature on the Dr. P & S and I noticed several MB difference between program he installed and which had been installed until then.

    The error kept showing a network connection problem, but I had already restarted the router several times.  When I got to the printer, I had loaded it a stable and permanent address through the router, so every time I "uninstalled and reinstalled then" software, it always by default the preset number on the router... that has been a blessing!  Finally, I got on the Web site of the real, connected and re-configured router the network connection on the printer using the PIN # that was generated (the WPS buttons had failed earlier) However, it happened, the resumed printer connected and I was able to print a test page.  All is well again.
