Preinstalled software key - how to check what operating system it is?

How can I know what means this key: H09468SP

When I check Toshiba EMEA for my unit details it shows it as the pre-installed software package.

The reason why I ask is that my installed software is different from the license key and I want to know what is supposed to be the official software from Toshiba.

Hello

I think you have misunderstood something;
The number of H09468SP is the number of Toshiba Recovery CD/DVDs and it s not a license key or anything else

It s a number of disk recovery and can be useful if you want to order a new Toshiba Recovery disk!

Good bye

  • DisplayLink Core Software cannot be installed on this operating system - Dynadock

I have an other laptop manufacturers, and I want to use it in my home office, I bought a Toshiba Dynadock. I installed the software and, during this process, a message is displayed as follows:

"DisplayLink Core Software cannot be installed on this operating system"

I have Windows XP Professional, version 2002, service pack 1

I checked my Services and DisplayLink is NOT present. All other elements of the Dynadock work very well (keyboard, mouse, camera, network etc.), but the screen is blank and I have to use scren laptop which goes against the whole object to have the Dynadock first!

What can I do to load this software? Are there settings that I can change to allow the DisplayLink load?

    Any help welcome!

    Hello

I'm not expert Dynadock but one thing is very interesting. According to your assignment, you use Windows XP Home SP1 edition. I wonder what will happen if you have installed SP2 with all latest updates.

I don't know about you, but maybe you really need to install SP2. I don't see any other reason why this software cannot be installed.

  • How to install two operating systems on a single computer

How to install two operating systems on a single computer, xp and windows 7... ?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
For the installation of two Windows OS (called Dual Boot), you first determine what exactly the BONES. Based on this, you can proceed to install the oldest operating system first, then installing the latest OS. Here, in your case, Windows XP first and then Windows 7.
If you change the order, the latest version of Windows will not work correctly.
In addition, you can use Virtual PC or VMware to use Windows XP in Windows 7. Windows XP Mode is another version of Microsoft which allows you to use Windows XP in Windows 7 through Virtual PC. You can download Windows XP Mode from here:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/Download.aspx
To install Windows XP Mode, you must have Windows 7 Professional or higher, with hardware virtualization enabled in your PC (you should check in the BIOS of your PC). If you prefer Windows XP Mode, you don't have to install Windows XP in the above mentioned way. It installs like any other program on Windows 7.
Note that if you have Windows 7 Edition Home Premium or lower edition, you can try Windows XP using Virtual PC/VMware or dual-boot.

    Hello Mohan,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

I can of course understand the situation and will be happy to help with your query.

    Let me ask you;

    • You have the key product for Windows 8 or 8.1?

You can create an installation media (DVD/USB) for Windows 8.1 and re-install when you want. However, in order to create an installation media for Windows 8.1, you need the product key. If you don't have the product key for Windows 8.1, you can not create installation media.

You can create the installation media for Windows 8 by using the product key Windows 8 If you have. In this case, install you Windows 8 first and then go to Windows 8.1 through store.

As far as your paid apps (purchased by store) are concerned, you should be able to install them as soon as you sign in with the same Microsoft Account where apps were purchased.

You can see the steps indicated by Ronnie Vernon replied on 24 December2013, re - install paid apps.

You can follow the steps below to create installation media.

    1. Run the program Windows 8.1 configuration or installation of Windows 8 (depending on the availability of the product key for the specific operating system.
    2. When you are prompted to run or save the file, choose run

    3. When you are prompted to enter a product key, enter the 25-character product key, that you received when you purchased Windows 8.1 (or Windows 8).

    4. When you are prompted to install Windows 8.1 (or Windows 8), select install by creating media and then click Next.

    5. Select the type of media you want to use: either a Flash DRIVE or a DVD.

To create a USB flash drive

    1. Click on the USB flash drive.

    2. Plug the USB key into a USB port on your PC.

    3. When you are prompted, select the USB key that you want to use, and then click Next.

If you have files on the USB flash drive, it will remove them.

    To create a DVD

    1. Click on the ISO file , and then select the location where to save the ISO file.

    2. Insert a blank recordable DVD into your DVD drive.

    3. Burn the ISO of the DVD file using Windows disc Image burner, or another program DVD burning.

Note: Ensure that the USB or DVD key that you use has nothing else stored on it and has a sufficient free space to download the Windows 8.1 Installer: about 2.3 GB for the 64-bit version.

You can also read the article below to create a USB stick recovery.

    Create a recovery USB disk

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

    Thank you.

    Hello

This may depend on your condition. If the computer on which you want to install the new operating system is for typical home use, then you may want to buy Windows 7 rather than Windows Server 2008.

Also, please take a look at the underside of the articles that might help you to choose the operating system.

  • Partition Recovery - what operating system?

I just bought a ThinkPad Edge E431 with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit OS pre-installed, but a free upgrade option to Windows 8 Pro (Windows 8 a license with downgrade rights).  Provided Lenovo recovery Windows 8 Pro (upgrade) DVD discs but nobody knows (or how to find out?) what operating system is contained in the recovery Partition from the factory on the laptop?  I expect that it is Windows 7 but the caveats users defined recovery disc to be sure to do a recovery image before moving on to Windows 8, which should not be necessary if the recovery Partition is Windows 7.

    Mtn-high hi,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community!

We understood that your request is subject to OS pre-loaded on ThinkPad Edge E431.

If the system is delivered with Windows 7 pre-loaded OS, then the recovery partition will be Windows 7 OS only.

We recommend to create the current operating system reinstallation disk, and after you create the recovery disk, you can move the windows of Windows 7 to Windows 8 OS.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards
