Prelude: several "partial ingests" a clip?

I was in hopes that, thanks to the capabilities as a prelude to have "Partial Ingestion" that Adobe could also include "several partial intakes", but it seems like they did not.

It seems that partial Ingestion is only good for throw away unused headers/trailers of a clip.  Is this correct?

Thank you!

Hi Eric,.

Thanks for your message and for usage of Prelude!

You correctly, as the workflow to ingest partial was to allow you to quickly shut off all unnecessary content. The new asset will be just the selected In-Out range.

We are agreed that the opportunity to create several regions In-Out is valuable and is something we are discussing internally.

You have a vision of how you want the workflow of numerous watching departure? What type of options you would find most valuable for your workflow? Any other thoughts on what you'd like to see here are always welcome.

Kind regards

  • Prelude CC 2014 ingest window flickering

I discovered a really weird problem today when preparing some files to import into CC 2014 prelude. When I chose a folder with files, they began loading and then suddenly started flashing. In the list next to the thumbnails of files the file flickered as well. This happened only with a few records and some do not. It didn't happen with the files on my card connected via card reader, but it happened to my internal drive and an external hard drive.

I don't think that it has nothing to do with the location of the file, but the files in the folder.

I think it has something to do with files that have already been the .pek files created for them.

The problem seems to have fixed itself when I deselected the option in the preferences to record media cache files next to the originals when possible. I also clean the media Cache database.

Here is the info for my system:

    MacBook Pro retina

    Internal hard drive SSD

    G-Tech G-Drive Mobile USB external (USB3)

SDHC memory card plugged into the memory card reader internal

Files in folders that have worked have a variety of .jpg, .mp4, .mov, and many others

Files in folders that do not have were pretty much all the same files, but some already had with them .pek files or had previously been imported to the prelude or first.

Some of the files that were in folders that worked well was created or imported in prelude or first, so I honestly don't know what the problem is. What I see happening is as prelude goes to read the files, that something is a problem, it restarts the process, repeat, repeat, repeat. I can click on 'Cancel' or select another folder and it will stop the problem of refresh/flicker.

When I go to the folder in the Finder, while what is happening, I can see the .pek and an another one or two files appearing and disappearing as the flickering / refreshing happens in the prelude.

    Hi Retrodad,

I'm having the same problem with flickering files in Prelude trying to ingest files after that that they were transferred to the memory card on my hard drive. All the answers from Adobe?

Do what the previous guest tried:

Deselect the option in the preferences to record media cache files next to the originals when possible. Also, clean the media Cache database.

    Thank you

  • Best Format to Transcode for partial ingest using prelude

I'm trying to see if the prelude is logical for my workflow in Premiere Pro CS6. So far, it seems too good to be true, especially the ability to partially injest records as a prelude with IN/OUT points. If I understand correctly, this feature I must transcode during same injestion if my native format (HDV/1080 p. M2T) works very well in the body.

So my question, among the many options of format SOUL offering for prelude injestion transcoding, is that I should consider to maximize the performance of Premiere Pro editing?

I prefer lossless transcoding of intermediate files.  The lossless option only included with the PP is uncompressed.  Who can make the files quite big and heavy, so I use the free codec of UT.  It is compressed, so it is smaller (especially in the YUV420, which is suitable for your media mode).  It is a lossless compression, so there is no damage at all.

And it works very well with the Adobe programs.

  • Prelude CC 2014 Ingest - treatment takes forever

As a prelude CC 2014 when I go to ingest it says 'treatment' on each clip as usual. Unlike the previous version, however, it takes forever for the media at the end of this treatment, or not at all. The media in question are Canon DSLR images and images Canon VIXIA (mp4), ingested and transcoded from an external hard drive (WD My Passport Ultra). I reinstalled the previous version of the Prelude (2.0) and everything works normally. Is there a setting in prelude CC 2014 that could combat this problem?

    HI -.

Thanks for your confirmation! You're so kind and meticulous.

There is a known issue on this setting. I.e. If activate "save media beside the original Cache files when possible", for some types of media formats the miniature display in the dialog box Ingest begins to blink.

I was in the wrong direction at the beginning because I focused on "no clip made" in the thumbnail view of the Ingest dialog box. In any case the root cause was found, thank you again for your help.

    Best,

  • What can I do when I want to ingest serveral clips "Stich Clips Together"

Hello I'm hoping someone can give me your comments or advice on how to do this successfully. I'm working on video projects where I have anywhere from 50-100 video clips to work with. Out of these clips I usually poking out 2 or 3 clips using "Prick the clamps Together" bring down the total number of items in half. Problem is every time I select a few clips and click Ingest, disappears from the window to ingest it. So I have to reopen the window Ingest and expect that all the clips to load every time I want to assemble another series of clips. It is very annoying to do this 25 - 50 times in a row. In addition it is difficult to remember what clips you've already ingested and which you do not have. I brought this up to Adobe several times and they said that they where working on the update to resolve these issues by having possibly Ingest window remain on home page, or a button of the render queue or something that shows what clips have already been ingested. But after waiting so long and the new CC 2014 to date have not addressed these issues, I thought that I would ask everyone if they have a strategy to work with that many clips and their sewing together? Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

    Hi CLCTV,

Thank you for digging in this workflow. Now reopen the window of acquisition is the only way to do.

I understand your problem and will discuss with the team.

  • Premiere Pro CC - waveform I can synchronize with * several * camera and audio clips a Pluraleyes the?

Many of us use Pluraleyes to synchronize the DSLR and 2nd audio WAV files using waveforms. (No timecode.)

The ability to synchronize in first Pro CC has been mentioned in several lists of feature, but I don't see the ability to synchronize a clip at a time.

Y at - it no way to align several MOV and WAV files with different start / stop times and no other another match that of waveform and synchronize them automatically in first Pro CC in a sequence (or by creating multiple merged clips)? In other words, can I reproduce the Pluraleyes features in this new version of Premiere Pro?

Currently, the best way to do it is by selecting all items in the project Panel, right-click on it and select Create multi camera source sequence.   Synchronization via audio, choose your audio settings (if you want audio in both clips, select all cameras), and then click ok.  Blocking is smart enough to make this batch and make several sequences of MC with only the clips that match each other.  Unfortunately merged clips, or timeline sync will do only one at a time.  If you want this behaviour in amalgamated sync of clip or timeline, please file a feature request: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish

  • Combine several images into a clip 10 EP

Is it possible to combine several images into a single element? For example, I have 50 stills from a video track, which each is a clip, and I would like to combine them into a single clip out of them so I can adjust the opacity without having to adjust each of 50 clips individually. Any information is welcome. Thank you.

There are several ways to do it, but it is the simplest.

Place them on the timeline, then use Share/computer/AVI with DV preset for their release in a video file.

Remove pictures from your timeline and replace it with the video.

  • Import several Sony XDCAM EX Clips

Is it possible to import more than one clip (from camera Sony EX1) both in Premiere Pro?

First of all, I transfer the pictures from my camera to my hard drive using the Navigator Clip of Sony. Then I go in first Pro CS5 and import clips. However, since the film needs the structure of folders, I can only choose a clip at the same time to import. Is it possible to see all the clips in folders and import more than one clip at a time in Premiere Pro? Sony Clip Browser will show all video clips in the subfolders and allow transfers of several clips at once, but I don't know how to do this in Premiere Pro.

Why not import the entire BPAV directory and do not take account of the file not supported error? Who will import all of your clips at once.

  • Ability to create several sequences of selected clips?

So, I have been on a warpath for a while now, but haven't found the appropriate answers. So I'll ask.

I would like to create multiple sequences of any number of selected items. I know that I can drag and drop each clip on the new icon of the sequence, but if I have 100 +, this is getting ridiculous. Is there a script that can do this, or someone can point me in the right direction to embark on such a thing?

There is no concept of 'selection', in PPro APIs.

You can create a preset (file .sqpreset) sequences, and there are ways to add a projectItem given to an existing sequence...

If you can provide more details on the workflow you want to support [write me directly; b b b from adobe dot com], we can better frame.

  • Several partial rating choices

    Hello

I want to use the multiple choice question tool to create a query that reads as follows:

    "Which here are X?

    a. Lorem

    b. ipsum.

    dolor c.

    d. sit

    e. amet

    f. computer

With a, d and f being correct and b, c and e may be incorrect.

How can I prevent the learner just select all response options and get the maximum score? Is it possible to put a penalty to select incorrect answers? Can I limit the number of responses that the learner can check?

    Thank you

    M

Penalty and partial score can be combined perfectly. It's workflow:

    1. Select one of the answers

    2. in the Panel properties assign a note: may be positive or negative

3 do this for each answer.

The result will be calculated and shown in the Panel properties of Quiz as a

score total and a total penalty.

  • Prelude files to ingest the Canon XF incredibly slow - why?

I might be missing something obvious here, but when I ingest my Canon XF 300 (Canon XF files) step media "ingest" takes a VERY long time. Note that I have been ingested media from my other cameras (Canon 5 d Mark III) for some time and the speed of ingestion are basically the same as copying the files manually. Yet, the XF files last much longer (for ingest 8 GB of material, it took 30 minutes; the same amount of GB of the 5 d would take about 4 min) and the only difference in the procedure is the media type. Note also that if I copy the same files manually from the same disks it takes a 'normal' amount of time (2-4 min).

Arriving files on the target drive, they are in the original format and file structure, so it's as if the files were just copied. So, why does take so long?

    Thank you

    Scott

Thanks for the report, Scott. We will try to reproduce them here and see what we find.

  • cannot ingest clips from different folders

I am trying to select items to ingest different folders. I can open a file and ingest many clips. Once I go to another folder clips I selected get deselected.

    Hi Nathan,

Prelude currently does not support the ingestion of several records clips. Once you browse to another folder, the already selected clips could be deselected.

However, prelude supports ingest in the background. You can click on ingest after selecting clips in a folder. The clips would begin is ingested and progression, as you can see in the bottom of the prelude progress bar.

Now, even if this ingestion is underway, you can once again navigate to other folders and ingest from there. It will feel like more or less by selecting / ingestion of extracts of several records in total, moreover, although not exactly similar.

    It will be useful.

    Thank you

  • Rename clip on ingest problem - name of rehearsals

I'm experimenting with metadata from ingest with Prelude 3.1.  If I ingest a clip and then delete my project AND then he eats again, the name of the element repeats the name above and on each time that I swallowed again. The name should be:

Mold preparation THE iron pour 002 - LW0194

But after ingestion of third, I get this name:

Mold preparation THE iron pour 004 - mold preparation THE iron for 003 - mold preparation THE iron for 002 - LW0194

I have files ' deleted all the Cache "in preferences, trying to get it to stop, but it continues. I started on a new project of prelude. I even tried to ingest the clip again WITHOUT change of name and it still uses the old name twice. Here's my project file after having ingested WITHOUT change of name. I have ingested the same clip again and a new clip (LW0195).

    prelude-rename.png

How can I "reset" the name so I can control the names of clip? I swallowed more than 100 clips that have repetitions in the name so I need to fix this.

Running OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks) and Prelude 3.1.

    Thank you!

    HI -.

Weird happens certainly something for you - sorry about that.

There are a number of issues that I have on how you have configured your ingest preferences - perhaps too many to be effectively listed here. If you have a few minutes, I would like to chat with you live on the phone. I am located on the West coast of the United States - where are you located? I can set up a conference call for us at a convenient time for you.

A quick suggestion - you can use the metadata Panel of prelude to clear the text in the 'Title' field to your clips. This should prevent prelude to 'know' or 'Add' the previous file names on ingest to move forward. Here are the steps that might help in the short term, so that understand us what happened in general:

    1. Select a clip already ingested in your project

    2. open the metadata Panel (WINDOW-> METADATA menu control)

    3. find the 'Title' field (it's in the "Dublin Core" metadata section. You can also simply search "Title" directly in the metadata Panel to find as well)

4 clear the text in this field

NOTE: You can select multiple clips for STEP 1 above and clear the text from the TITLE for all files at once

Now delete all files in your project of prelude and re - ingest them (you don't need to copy them again through ingestion - you can simply ingest them by reference - using their current location.) To achieve this UNCHECK the option "Transfer the Clips to Destination" in the dialog box ingest.

I hope this helps out. If you want to chat live, please send me an email with the details of your time zone and some times it works for you. My email address is [email protected].

  • No clips in project after not ingestion

    Hello

So I swallowed a bunch of images in prelude. It went very well and has been verified to MD5. However, even after that multiple ingests, the location of project rest empty. Video files are fortunately copied on two hard drives, but what I can do to make them appear in the prelude and start logging?

    Thank you!

    Hi Barbora,

Sorry for your problem. It seems strage at first reading.

Are there opportunities you ingested files in the project Panel and not inside a trash can? If so, they would be visible in the project House only Panel.

You can ingest directly into a tray of selecting (opening) the tray in the front project Panel ingest or move the files in the project bin House Panel after ingestion.

Can you share the screenshot of the prelude after succesful ingest?

    Also mention:

    • Version of the prelude help--> on Adobe prelude
    • OS version
    • This happens with all media files or a specific format? You can share files with a particular format in this case?
    • This happens in every acquisition or sometimes?

    I hope it helps.
