Prematurely worn keys

My wife has a laser 5000 keyboard (which strangely is not in one of the drop down menus). After about 2 years of home use (not a day all the typing office environment), a large number of the key is worn and cannot be read. I can't find the receipt so guess that Microsoft will not want to know, if I need to know if they can be replaced and it is life you can expect a high price, product quality would have been? (I work from home and use an inexpensive Logitech which, after 5 years, shows no signs of wear either).

Hello

1. what operating system do you use?

2. What do you mean "a large number of the key is worn and cannot not be read?"

3. are you not able to use the keyboard or are the letters on the keyboard are not visible?

I suggest you follow the link and check.

  • Windows COA sticker worn, how can I get Win7 key #?

I have a G60-535DX laptop, hard drive has been replaced and has no recovery Partition. Is there a way to get Windows 7 key # if I have a serial number of the product? The COA sticker is worn, it can not see all the characters. It came with Windows 7 Home Premium.

If you can boot into Windows, the easiest way to retrieve the key is to use a utility calledMagic Jellybean .

If you cannot start Windows, or who have already replaced or reformat your hard drive, then you have four choices.

    (1) use the recovery disk series or usb recovery media that you should have created and put in a safe place.

    (2) buy a HP or an HP partner recovery disk

    (3) purchase of a new facility under license of Windows 7 DVD

    (4) install an operating system open source as a version of Linux

If you are using a serial or usb disk recovery recovery media, you use the activation of license key. The Windows certificate of authenticity is just there to provide proof of legal license and in case an owner has decided to install a non HP Microsoft Windows version.

recovery disk is an option that will include license certificates & register automatically.

  • I need a product key of base of activation of vista that mine is worn out so bad, I can't read it can anyone help?

It's so nuts that I need an activation for windows vista basic product key, because mine is so worn out, I can't read and I already install from scratch with all my pc drivers what a PIN in the lacrosse can someone give me a key

    Hello

Sorry, but no product key can be given, or are available, free of charge.

And Microsoft sells more than Vista.

If your COA sticker is worn:

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

This may or may not work as you have reinstalled, and we do not know by what method:

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

    See you soon.

  • Vista product key sticker is worn. How can I get code?

my friend has a Toshiba Satellite phone that she bought from a retailer in the United Kingdom. Vista stopped booting and I checked the hard drive that has no bad sectors. It seems that I need to reinstall Vista, but the product key sticker is affixed to the underside of the computer and some of the numbers are worn. Looking carefully with a magnifying glass class I seem to have 21 out of what looks like 24 digits.

Anyone know how I can get the rest of the code? I have all the other codes from beneath the laptop. This includes the serial number of the laptop and the number that is greater than the activation key and bar codes.

In any case a round of applause for the one who puts the sticker under the laptop, where it must obviously be carried away.

Current situation for laptops.  More recent, some manufacturers are put it in the compartment to batteries or if I hear.

The activation key will be 5 sets of 5 characters.  You write what you can now.

Contact Toshiba and explain the situation.  See if they will give new keys (which I doubt.)  If this is not the case, contact Microsoft by using the information in this article:

  • The sticker on my laptop product key is worn, but I can still do a number above the code bar. Can I still get my product key?

I have an old laptop that took Vista Home Basic (32 bit) and I need to reinstall Vista but the sticker on the laptop is slightly worn I can't see the product key. There are other numbers, I can make out on the sticker, however. What I need to know, is if it's possible for me to get the product key? Also, I might also want to install XP SP3 instead, because it uses less resources, and I heard that you can use the Vista key to activate XP, I'd be able to do?

  • Sticker for my Windows 7 product key is worn. How to find?

    Label worn out!

I have a Win 7 pre installed on my lappy, over a period of time, it is worn out, I do not have the product id, nor the .manufacture product key is in charge to help me... what I would do... ?

The product key on the base is for use with a generic edition OEM of Windows 7, if you choose to install Windows 7 from generic media.

So that you use the recovery partition provided as part of the installation, the recovery discs can be created, from the partition recovery, or the available recovery disks from the manufacturer of the computer for a small price, you should never have to worry about the loss of the tag...

  • Reinstall the new HD without key as the label is too worn to read

I have an old Dell Inspiron n5010 laptop friends who has a bad replacement HD is easy (ha!) but the windows key on the back of the laptop was not under the battery and so is quite worn. The key to windows itself is unrecognizable however I can do a light code under the code high bar of the page (which is shown just below the word "DELL"). Is there any hope of trying to get Windows 7, working on a new HD for her or she would have cast? Second, it could get a CD to upgrade from windows 7 the school, but this would require windows must already be installed. She would be able to use the product key for the upgrade if a copy of windows is downloaded and burned to a dvd to use for the installation? Thank you!

    Option 1:

If the product key is worn, then you need to do is request a manufacturer's recovery disc and allows to reinstall Windows 7. This relieves the need to use the product key:

Ask Backup Discs for US customers only

If this option is not available to you, then you will need to purchase a new license.

    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.

  • Getting a message that my copy of Windows is not genuine. I want to enter my key, but it is worn above the bottom of the system. How can I fix it?

Windows Vista genuine - WGA false positive

Well well, Hello. I bought a HP laptop with Windows Vista, about 4 years ago and recently the "not a copy genuine' warnings began, he told me to validate my Windows I had put in the code I can find in a sticker below my laptop and the problem is that the sticker is there, but the laptop is 4 years old and most of the towers it , so the code and most of the things written in the sticker is worn. I can't get the validation code and I would like to know what I can do to validate my windows or get rid of these annoying warnings that will let me set up a wallpaper, which is the most annoying part. Thank you.
