Presario CQ 60 recovery 215DX

Long story short, I watered the Vista installation, and trying to fix it, deleted the recovery partition. I downloaded the iso of vista of links provided here and other sites. Whenever I try to activate, I get the message "activation code provided is a different version...". ».

Is there a (legal) way to change the iso to accept my OEM key?

I find no specific restore media anywhere.

Thanks in advance

Mark

So I got this Compaq Presario CQ57-445EQ with Windows 7 and 4 GB of ram. Last night I tried to upgrade the BIOS of the first version (2008) to the last (2015) and he got bricks. During the upgrade, it got stuck for 30 minutes and I had to reboot. Now it is black screen, caps lock shift will blink twice every 2 seconds. Hi I would like to just get some advice on my problem. Above, the computer had Vista Home Basic, it belongs to a friend who says that he just quit booting the system, tried to start, but I decided to reinstall just because she had a H.P.disk1 recovery mode = 5013-8233; Disk2 = 5013-8234; Disc 3 = 5013-8644, it should load the files & stay on the screen of this windows installation - complete says'Installing 'it's as if she does not return to the C: drive on reboot. I read on some forums that it takes a lot of time to load Vista, I let him run 7 hours Thursday night & tonight it's on this screen for 5 hours while I'm typing this, it isn't a visible HARD disk activity, I think that the discs are bad for this computer or they are bad. Is this all that I am missing? I also tried to load XP sp1 on the Sata drive but I could not know what sata drivers I needed & how to load them is when I decided to add the ATA drive. • HP compaq presario cq60-215dx restore factory settings

I am selling my computer compaq presario cq60-215dx laptop model and cannot figure out how to restore the factory settings. I tried a number of things... I pressed f9 to turn on the computer that has windows vista. Then I pressed ESC which lead me to the windows Boot Manager. It is said "to specify an advanced for this choice option, press f8." So I did and went up a list of the advanced startup options and 'repair your computer' is the one I clicked on because they say this option restores the system. Another menu came with the system recovery options, then I clicked on the full restoration of a windows PC with a description explaining that this will restore your entire server or personal computer from a backup image. I clicked on that and an error message came say that validates a backup location could not be found. Windows cannot find a backup on this computer. Set the backup hard drive or insert the final DVD of a backup set, then click Retry. What does that mean?

Please, see performing a recovery of the system (Windows Vista) HP for instructions on performing a HP system on yyour computer recovery. If you have not created your HP recovery disks, you can do prior to the recovery. HP recovery disks are a Fail Safe incase something goes wrong.

  • Compaq Presario SR1150NX: Error, disk Compaq recovery dead

Hello, I have a desktop Compaq Presario SR1150NX of 2005. Everything works well in it and we emptied dust not for long. But then, one day I went to start it it says a critical system file was missing. I'm confused at first. After half an hour, creating a USB disk only to find it didn't work, I then had to use the Windows XP Recovery Console. Then after I fixed it it still didn't start because it couldint find the file. But when I start the computer, it shows me that, if I press F10, it boots into system recovery mode. OT started and told me that I could boot into windows xp system recovery. But in the middle of this, the computer overheats and shuts down. When I tried to turn it on again it gave me a disc error AND when I boot in recoervy, it's just bluescreens. Now when I turn on the computer, it does nothing.

Is there any where where I could download a recoervy tool to open the hard drive in order to get the data on the drive and get a new drive? Or get a Windows recovery disc?

    Any help is the Apprecited!

Remove the disk from the desktop.

    Buy

    USB 2.0 for HDD SATA/IDE adapter 2.5/3.5/5.25IN drives w / adapter

    See: http://www.ncix.com/detail/usb2-0-to-sata-ide-drive-adapter-a3-17762.htm

and connect your hard disk with this adapter to a USB port on your computer.

When you connect, Windows will ask your permission to run 'check disk' ('CHKDSK') to review and fix any problem of file system.

I think that the corrupt currently-system files on the hard drive is causing startup problems you reported.

Re-connect the desktop "repaired" disk drive, and then try again.

  • Compaq Presario sr1720 nx goes directly to the recovery & mouse & kyboard is unresponsive

The compaq Presario sr1720nx is directly to the recovery even if I hit the F6 key or the escape key start-up of the pc to the top.  Once on the recovery screen, there are three choices that are not accessible because neither the keyboard nor the mouse respond.

I may be the culprit of the problem.  I looked on the internet to perform a recovery without a disk.  The You tube video, said to use the F6 key at startup to access the recovery console.  This proved to be unsuccessful.  When the compaq starts, it says to hit the F8 key to start the recovery program.  None of them worked.

So, being a non tech person, I went to programs > Accessories > microsoft tools > reset to an earlier date > and reset the start to the recovery console.  My goal was to access the recovery console to perform a destructive recovery.  This has been for us hopefully correct the Compaq, which had not been used for a long time.

Before this action, there is no problem with the mouse or the keyboard.

The end result was the computer starts up straight on the recovery console provides three choices.  It also provides choice to hit the return key to put an end to the valuation or escape to return to the normal operating system of windows XP.

Initially, I tried to download the recovery disc for the Compaq back to ground zero.

If all goes well, it still may be my option.  If anyone could be useful to a naive individual, it would be much appreciated.  As the saying goes, a little knowledge is a very dangerous thing.

    Distinguished regards, Mike

    I solved the problem

I unplugged the computer, mouse and keyboard; WAITED several minutes and plugged the above items back in.  After you enable the Compaq, he went directly to the window of recovery.  Now, the keyboard has been active to select option 3 - the full recovery of the C: drive.  Of course, asked me to restart the computer to complete the process.

The windows XP program has restarted after the computer has finished the recovery process.

Starting with a blank slate, I was able to name the computer, the selection of the internet service provider, etc. in the usual way.

I add this note anyone suffer a similar situation.

    I appreciate the response.

    Distinguished regards, Mike

  • Recovery of Phoenix for HP - Compaq Presario v6604AU crisis

    Hello

Recently, I got my - computer v6604AU laptop compaq presario with phoenix BIOS and AMD Athlon dual core processor - brick with a bad flash update.

I tried to use flash files extracted update bios slot location

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-93354-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&...

    1. I used them to create the phoenix recovery disk in a 1 gb USB Thumb Drive.

The configuration of the bios for my laptop contains also 2 WPH files: 30CFF34A. WPH and 30CFF34B. WPH

I used the first because it was newer.

    2. removed the battery and the power, you press Win + B (only this combination of keys the key USB LED lights)

But the USB twinkling like when its being used to read. The CPU fan speed remains low. And all of the other lights out as stated in many forums.

Then I let the key combination, I insisted on this.

Leave the computer on for about 20 min, but the flash does not.

Please me know anything useful if you fall on it.

    Thanks in advance.

    [Edit]

Recently, tried the same thing with the floppy USB drive

Like crazy laptop beeps and the floppy drive reads data. (This means that the recovery option is available for this BIOS)

but nothing happens after reading the disk.

    Maybe I'm missing something.

May be that the combination of files is not correct.

    Need help!

It seems that you are making progress with the floppy drive. Use one of the USB ports on the left side of the laptop, they are soldered directly on the system board. Although this should not make a difference, it is best to assume this will be.

If the BIOS file won't work not erase the floppy drive and then repeat with the other file.

It can also be better to assume that there is something wrong with that BIOS update and use an older BIOS which is known to work. If you know your a recent, so it is best.

If you still have your HP tools partition on the hard drive, try the procedure affects 'Windows' and 'B' with nothing plugged into the USB port. The HP Tools partition is supposed to contain the latest BIOS to work to bring relief to a corrupt update.

Are you running W7, if this is the case and you tried to update the BIOS under W7, then which caused your original problem. This is because the BIOS files were designed to be executed in a Vista environment.

  • Compaq Presario 2199US recovery help

I have a Compaq Presario 2199US notebook that has been given to me.  The laptop came with factory restore disks.  There is a COA sticker on the bottom of the machine.  I have a Windows XP home SP3 and tired to do a clean install to use it.  When I try to use the COST he told me that I have an invalid number.

Could it not because the certificate of authenticity is to maybe windows family xp without service pack?

Any suggestion on how to be me and goes again.

    Hello:

The only suggestion I have is that you can order a set of recovery disc for your laptop.

HP has more, but you can still order a set from here.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ID=4219

If you do not install a XP OEM installation disc, that is why the product key does not work.

In other words, if you si vous utilisez use a retail full or upgrade XP Home Edition installation CD, the OEM product key will not work.

  • recovery system for Compaq Presario V6310US disks

Real novice here and, of course, I did not receovery disks when I bought my laptop.  Talked to HP colleagues tonight on the purchase of recovery disc for my Compaq Presario V6310US.  He told me that I don't have to buy records; that I could go to HP.com and download them here.  Told me it was easy.  I told him that he did not know me!  I had the location of the driver/software and see a lot of things listed (including the order form to purchase recovery discs) but don't know what to do (other than to order discs by mail for me).  Am I supposed to just to buy the discs or am that I supposed to burn discs for all the other things that listed there and not buy discs by mail?

Your help, in the simplest of words, is much appreciated.

    Message edited by hp4578 on 03/01/2009 21:39

You must phone/web-form to order them and have them sent you... There is no mechanism in place to download records (officially) from the HP website.

Hi, a friend who bought a new v2000 Compaq Presario back in 2005/6 should reinstall its OS XP home.  He has no recollection of any recovery disks and there is no partition recovery using F don't numbers ect.  I said maybe we could buy a new copy of XP home on ebay however, the number of sticker COSTS on the back of his laptop computer also appears in the BIOS, before spend us money on a drive someone can confirm that it will work on the assumption that the seller provides us with a COA sticker and license number?

We tried HP/Compaq and they use now a third party (best2serve?) to solve questions of guarantee such as recovery discs, despite the many requests for assistance so that their web site seems to just be dead in the water.  My friend is willing to pay for drives but does not have to be from his pocket a copy of mickey mouse that is missed, it is not the kind of guy who wants to be illegal ect, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

This site has a recovery disc for your computer http://www.restoredisks.com/default.aspx never used them but apparently they are reliable.  You may need to use the OEM key on the bottom of the laptop to activate so you make sure you get the correct version.
