Presario CQ56-115DX win7 64/home prem recovery has no no bootmgr ctrl alt del to restart

are the defective disks, I wiped the drive I got my Dell, it started and ran fine before the recovery, but he always said DELL when I started, so thought I would buy the RCD and rebuild right, so erased the disk with zeros, then made the recovery, and it still does not work tried 6 times. I just bought the RCD, they came on Saturday so what is happening that I can't recover this computer?

It seems to happen on disk 1, and starts the 2 ok, she comes to end with the finishing touch, click on it it stops. After the reboot, I get another screen with a finishing touch and click on it, then it restarts, and then I get the BOOTMGR missing...

anyone has an ideas are the RCD is defective? did lose money encouraging them, just to get those defective?

Thank you for any ideas and help

Hello:

Sometimes, recovery disks don't work much matter what you do.

You can install W7 without Dell logo using the method below.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

Just the message keeps coming and coming. so I did what all seemed to be telling me to do, I downloaded this 'Windows Vista 32 - Bit (x 86) Torrent recovery disk' on a disk and put it in my computer, restarted and is come up with the same message, I thought I might need it again. So I did, Bam, same message. It might be the disk or something as I said, but I don't know! Its really annoying me now, please help!

    Thank you!!

Here is the download of recovery for Vista instead of Windows7 drive: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/.  The thing is, I'm not sure you can use this drive for a boot recovery - you need an Installation of Vista disc.

If you can get your hands on an Installation of Windows Vista genuine disc, then here are some procedures to fix the BOOTMGR missing (you can try repair system with the Neosmart disk but honestly, I don't think that will work - you need to do the other procedure):

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    ·        Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not resolve the problem, try the following:

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    2. press a key when you are prompted.

    3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

    4. click on repair your computer.

    5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

    6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

    7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:

    ·        bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    ·        c:

    ·        Boot CD

    ·        BCD attrib s h - r

    ·        Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    ·        Bootrec /RebuildBcd

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX: can I upgrade to Windows 10?

I have a laptop Presario CQ56-115DX, bought October 2010 (5.5 years) and running Windows 7. Considering the free update of Windows 10, I am concerned about the graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD4250). I can't find an answer consistent and simple as to if it will work with Windows 10. Some sources claim a flat No., while others say No Problem, and still others say it's possible, but I'll have to pass through many creoles, manual installation of upgrades/downgrades of device drivers before, during and after the upgrade of the OS.  Maybe a BIOS update, too.

So, can someone give me the history of right? When all is said and done, I at least will be no worse off as I am today on Windows 7, for graphics and video capabilities? I do more than very light animation and card games - no heavy action or stuff VR Council. This laptop has the power to do this kind of things anyway. If there is clear instructions somewhere for the manual steps that must be done before pulling the trigger on the upgrade of Win10, I can follow them. I don't want to risk in bricks during the upgrade! Supposedly, for 30 days after the upgrade, I can return to Windows 7, but it's no good if I can't get on the machine in the first place.

I realize that this machine is getting quite long in the tooth, so a hardware upgrade (if that's even possible) is out of the question. If I have to stay on Windows 7, I'll run that, until the support is gone and then switch to Linux or something (maybe dual boot) until the material finally die.

Are there any other known folds in a Windows 10 upgrade, in addition to the graphics? I've seen complaints about wireless, keyboards, optical drives and other things does not work properly after the upgrade.

    PPerry57

My advice, after these uprades and seen THEM fail miserably on the old PC (like yours) are NOT to do the upgrade.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the problem, that you are facing is that Microsoft provides only pilots with the most basic features and what you really need for these features in laptops is the specialized drivers written for the specific material found in laptops - and unfortunately, there is no HP Win10 laptop driver.  HP only guarantees the compatibility of Win10 for machines manufactured after August 2013. HP is not no matter what timetable indicating when, or IF, they will produce drivers for older machines.

This means that your PC is probably NEVER going to be fully functional under Win10 because the pilots is needs for all features simply do not exist!

Also, there is no upgrade for the BIOS of your PC because it has not been compiled with Win10 in mind.

While Microsoft tells you there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly faction of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when it fails it can leave machinery in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

Thus, people who tell you that you are no worse off the power if you upgrade to level do not take account of the reality of the situation - you'll be no better off and will be certainly less well off, how much, nobody knows.

However, if you are willing to do some work and are determined to try to upgrade, then read on...

You think about the amount of work that you want to post just to run Win10.  Seriously.  Old machine Win7 tend to come in two flavors when it comes to upgrading Win10 - really easy and really difficult.

The really hard to upgrade computers fall into two categories: (1) those who are expandable to Win10 and works OK, (2) those who are not.

Computers laptops HP, especially old Win7 machines, often came with two different graphics - and Intel chips and then either a processor AMD or Nvidia.  This was known as switchable graphics card or hybrid.  You have run using the Intel chip most of the time, but when you need additional graphics power, as in the game, the PC automatically switched over to the use of the AMD or Nvidia graphics chip.

Problem is, this requires special graphics drivers to work, and while that those that are preinstalled on laptops Win7, these drivers simply do not exist for Win10.  These drivers are not available from Intel, AMD or Nvidia.  One way to tell if your PC has two different graphics chips is to look in under Graphics Device Manager.  If there are two different cards in the list, an Intel and AMD/Nividia, then you have this problem - and if you force an upgrade to Win10, you will have serious graphic problems and your machine will not work.

However, if you do not have this problem, to CAN pass to Win10, but you must be willing to do four things:
    (1) do a full image backup of disk external drive or USB stick, capacity
    (2) changes to the reserved system partitioning hard disk recommandΘes mΘthodes,
    (3) use a different approach and maybe more than one, as Windows Update to do the upgrade,
    (4) prepare for a clean install.

    ---------------------------------
    1: backup of images:
This is VITAL, because the machine is doomed to failure of the upgrade, and when that happens, you will learn that GoBack to Win10 function is NOT reliable, and that can leave you with a corrupt machine that will require the factory reset and lose all that on it, to get it working again.

You can avoid this by making an image backup to an external hard drive or a USB drive using Macrium reflect (MR), which provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.
    ---------------------------------
    2: System reserved for resizing:
There is a small partition on the HDD with Win7 preinstalled machines known as system reserved.  It is something known as the boot loader code.  There is 100 MB format: all that is necessary for Win7.  But Win10 needs 350 MB and, in some cases, is NOT able to resize it on its own.  IF this happens, you must manually use a partitioning tool to resize it yourself.
    ---------------------------------
3: use a different approach to upgrade:
Windows Update is the simpler, but less reliable, way to do the upgrade from Win10.  A much better and more reliable way is to use Microsoft Media creation tool: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10 choose the upgrade this option now PC.

After all this, you know that MS install drivers with only the most basic features.  Given that HP does not have drivers for your PC Win10, this limited functionality is the best you're going to get.  HP does not actively write new drivers from Win10 for the old PC Win7.  To keep all the features of your PC, your best shot is NOT to upgrade to Win10.
    ---------------------------------
    4: be prepared to clean-install:
If you do all this, and after the upgrade, your PC works partially, this means that the upgrade is not well and stuff is still there the previous OS corrupt the functionality of Win10.

You MIGHT be able to solve the problem in fact a clean install of Win10. Problem is that, often, a clean-install does not recognize prior activation, even if it should. So, before doing the upgrade, follow these instructions on the community forums Win10 on creating a genuineticket.xml file: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/23354-clean-install-windows-10-directly-without-having-upgrade-first.html

You need more later to activate your pc Win10 after the installation of clean.

    -----------------------------------------------

    Good luck

  • I have a compaq presario cq56-115dx notebook pc and I wiped the hardrive without knowing

    Hello

I have a Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX laptop running on Windows 7. I wiped the hardrive without knowing what would happen, and now when I turn it on it has a black screen with a white dash flashes. I was wondering if there was a way to solve this problem.

    Thank you!

    Hello:

You will need to order a set of recovery disks.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

Or if you can read your Microsoft W7 product key you can make your own windows 7 installation disc.

    Here's how:

Try a hard reset first as follows:

Remove the battery and unplug the DC power Jack
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
replace the DC power cord (leave the battery for now), and then press the power button

  • Image recovery after the use of Ctrl-alt-shift-DEL in a collection

Today a do a really stupid move and accidentally used the Ctrl-alt-shift-del to command to remove 31 images from a Collection (so that what I really wanted to do was remove this particular collection. D'oh!!!! D'oh!!!! Oh !!!)

(It of on a PC running the Version 6.6.1 LR and earn 10, and I learned the command of a post years ago: Re: ways to 'Remove the lot' )

I immediately is gone in the trash and found 6 images in there and used the restore from Recycle Bin command and I hope that these were "given".

Can I ask the following prayer:

    1. If there were only 6 images from the trash, does mean that the other 25 deleted images in the collection were Lr Copies of original RAW files and that therefore the 25 Raw original will always be OK? (I use Copies a little bit, but without a way to check I don't know)  Is it correct to assume that Lr destroyed all Copies for good in this scenario?
    2. Are there any other "recovery protocols" I can try to restore images of 31 'that '?
    3. As of the best way to re - synchronize the 6 files that I restored the trash? Should I use synchronize folders?

Now, IF I have lost the RAW files (which is my real concern here) I have recent backups and full on external hard drives of all catalogs and all RAW images too which will contain these 'lost' images (if RAW OR just copy), BUT is it a protocol of identification in some way what specific files have been deleted and copy then back ' up' one of the backups I have? (Spirit I don't know which files have been deleted!) I am wary of simply copying all THE catalogs and the Backup Images, because this will cancel the other recent work, I am ideally looking to just put in the articles 'lost' if it's possible?

Thanks in advance for your help on this messy problem!

    1. CTRL-Alt-Shift-Delete Deletes immediately and without a prompt dialog box photos from Lightroom and your hard drive. If they original RAW photos are not in the trash, and then they are not on your computer. The photos are imported is not as your catalog. There is no such thing as "Lr of Copies of original RAW files"
    2. You can try a program called "undelete utility.
    3. Never tried, but certainly import would work here, but see my next paragraph

You must copy a recent backup of the file catalog somewhere else (not in the same folder as the backup), and then double-click it to open it. Your changes and the metadata provided by the user are here. Use the command search for the missing files to Lightroom to determine which photos are now missing. Then copy backups of photos you want to the location in your original folder hierarchy that these photos were previously. This should be the photos to be reconnected in Lightroom.
