• Illustrator freezes when resizing work plan

  Since a few weeks I had a problem with resizing work plans in illustrator: when I do it, the preview is fine (it is resized I change the size in the pop-up screen) but when I click on OK in the resizing of the artboard, my illustrator screen everything freezes. At this point, I can still use my laptop, but not Illustrator. It freezes for a few minutes and then all of a sudden it works again, and my work plan is resized. I tried starting illustrator without preferences (Shift + Ctrl + alt for windows), but no luck there.

  I am running the latest version of Illustrator CC 2015 on a laptop Windows 8.

  I tried to launch Illustrator as an administrator, and that works perfectly. Then I tested it again as a normal user, and all of a sudden that has worked as well? This problem was me upset for weeks, but it is now resolved.

  CS3-Windows, all programs freeze trying to open files through the file menu.

  Able to open files when browsing with windows Explorer, and then right-click on the file and choosing "open with".

  I'm having the same problem. I tried to submit a complaint by Adobe and they gave me all these steps to try, that did not work.

  I uninstalled and reinstalled all of the Creative Suite, but I'm still having the same problems. Help, please!

  Thank you for taking the trouble to answer.  Your suggestion worked, and now it scans correctly.  However, after posting my question, but before trying your suggestion, I noticed that the HP Solutions icon had disappeared, and that runs the HP diagnostic utility found a link broken even if the installation by running again disk indicated that there was no problem.  I have another link broken in an independent program, so I suspect a virus.

• Captivate 8 Windows freezes when inserting the Interactions of training

  Hello, all.

  I'm under Captivate 8 a laptop Windows Pro 8.1 with 8gigs of Ram and an Intel Core i5 processor.

  Whenever I try to insert an Interaction of training - everyone I've tried (except the timer) - it after about 30 seconds of NOTHING happening, the program crashes. I get the 'Windows has stopped responding"and then dialogue"Close program.".

  And Yes, I tried both as an administrator and not. The same problem.

  Someone else has encountered this, and you know a fix?

• Sound engineer freezes when I try to adjust the audio levels

  I have Windows 7, and occasionally (1 of 5) when I start my computer, the volume mixer will freeze everytime I try to adjust the volume until I restart the computer. When I try ending the process via Task Manager > administrative tools > Services > Windows Audio, I get the error "the program has not responded in time."

  I have no sound card, my active audio device is my Logitech G930 USB headset. When I try to turn on/off the headset, nothing happens. The only way to solve the problem is to restart my PC.

  Is there a solution for this?

  I use Premiere Pro on a Mac. That has started to happen, is that when I drag a clip form the window source on the timeline, the video clip in the preview window is huge - from most large it displayed in the source window. I don't want to have to go in and resize each clip. What is the cause and how to fix it?  Also, I went into preferences and pliers to adjust the value.

• Preview window of Windows Movie Maker keeps freezing

  I did a search and read all the messages on this problem, but can't find anything that helps me.  I use WMM on a Vista (SP2) (originally installed Vista) machine with 3G of RAM on a HP G-60 laptop.  The evolution of hardware acceleration is not possible because this dialog box tells me that "the pilot prevents the hardware acceleration setting."  The card is a NVIDIA.

  What happens is that I can choose a video using the import link, and sometimes (if I do NOTHING) it will start to play.  Any adjustments to the timeline slider causes an immediate freezing of the video and it cannot be moved.  It freezes completely.  The only thing I can do is to click outside the preview window and select the video again.

  Sometimes I do a random 'hash' in video 'on the fly' and it will start again properly, but I can't afford to cut pieces of film because I NEED them.  There is no guarantee that it will work more.

  Are there solutions to this problem, or is it just something inherent in WMM and I have to live with it?

  The clip duration can vary between 10 seconds and up to about four or five minutes.  Most of them freezes - there is no set model to which lock them up. Conversion application that I use is Prism Video Converter.  It works well and everyone I converted are first tested in WMP for correct operation.  I can move backward through the timelines in WMP with each item.  Yes, I tried activation and deactivation of the five filters in all combinations which all on.

  I now have a second computer with Win7 on it, and WMM works perfectly - no freezing.  Apparently, the ugly video chipset on the laptop is not until WMM tried to make do.  I'll use the W7 machine in the future.

  Using 11 elements. When you have trimmed a clip in the preview window, i.e. define the "in" and "on" points, is it possible to play this clip carved into the window to see what you've accomplished? I know that you can drag the slider to the "in" point, but is there no way to play just any little to start?

  Now, when we load a Clip in the Source monitor Panel by double-clicking on that Clip to open the Source monitor, and then sets the Points In & Out, the Source monitor will always play the full Clip. The Points In & Out will be used only, when doing drag that element from the Source monitor Panel to the timeline. There, only the material, between the Points In & Out will be used and displayed.

  I do screencasts of Adobe Captivate 6.0 (Mac) and I'm limiting the size of the screen in 1280 x 720. When I saw the project, sometimes much bigger and a lot of it is beyond the registration area. If I resize, do not like that the next time I run it.

  Anyone know how I can configure the size of the preview window?

  Too bad, that you are not using a PC. If you were, there is a little cool freeware app called 'Sizer' that allows you to set the size you want and easily resize the window.

  Only, I did a brief Google looking for a Mac alternative and found what is called "Mercury Mover". Maybe this will help?

  MY PC freezes when I'm online or simply all programs running on Windows Me. There is no error message or blue screen. The PC just unresponsive, don't move the mouse. I always restart. Any advice on how to solve this problem are welcome. Need help please, I'm frustrated.

  Go to start | Run and type msconfig and disable all startup items.  That should speed things up a lot.  You can re-enable everything you absolutely need to run at startup, but more often it's only very little emission.  Also, go to start | Programs | Accessories | System tools and do a disk cleanup and also to defragment the drive.  Blocking you encounter is likely due to video driver problems and you will not be able to remedy, but these measures should run faster.  If they don't fix it, then try to do a right click on the desktop and go to properties. Settings | Advanced | Troubleshoot and reduce hardware acceleration all the way and see if that stops to lock him up.

  The problem has been fixed (I think) but in a most unusual way. Let me explain.

  When I was closing down to give the computer a rest yesterday, there was a pop up saying that vprotector expected to close. He really wanted the process of closing until I clicked on finish the process. Curious to know what vprotector is, I searched on the net and got a lot of shots, saying: it is a virus and should be deleted pronto. So I searched the hard drive for the vprot. * and found in the folder program files for AVG!

  I then went to AVG to see if it's really a part of AVG and they said yes. If there is a problem with vprot, the toolbar is at fault and needs to be reinstalled. There was one click here to download and run the part of the program to fix the problem. However, I had WebRoot antivirus running that stopped the download of this program as a virus. Because I trust AVG, I've disabled WebRoot and reinstalled the AVG search bar.

  I haven't restarted WebRoot and computer flying along as it should, and OE is the link to IE when I click on a link as it has always done.

  Seems to me to be the faulty AVG toolbar and a cross with two virus programs upward was at fault. Thank you for your time. Your reply gave me a chance to think differently this problem could arise.

  Computers are really complicated machines and we have to be complicated to deal with their problems.
