Print image colors are different

Hello

I just bought a HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 6525 printer to print photos. I open an image in photoshop, then I press on print. I have the following settings:

Screen Shot 2014-05-29 at 10.57.23.png

Screen Shot 2014-05-29 at 10.57.33.png

The result is very poor. The colors are dark, like a photo of instagram. My screen is a SAMSUNG S24C750P. Photoshop CS6 (osx) version.

I would like to know what is the correct configuration for printing photos.

I really appreciate your help, it's very confusing.

You are not supposed to use sRGB as print profile. What you want is the profile for the paper tray that you print on a paper/ink (HP something shiny/Matt and so on). These profiles are provided by the manufacturer of the printer and normally installed along the printer driver.

But I don't think HP in the interest of "simpler" for the customer. Check what profiles are available (but I think that it will all paper profiles here). So in this case, you can not let Photoshop manage color, you must choose the other option and let the printer manage.

I have never been able to understand the HP. They are really very good material, but their philosophy seems to be that their customers are completely illiterate and they need hand-holding every step.

So I started recently with the PS and it's a big problem since I use it mainly for paint and it would be good to know what I paint, it is in fact, what would become the image

When I open a BW photo turns that sepia in PS, and even, save an image that looks like sepia PS will be BW when recording in format Jpeg or another which is visible in programs other than PS. Basically, all the photos I saved proved to be much more blue that I intended them to be.

How can I fix? I would be SO happy to help!

  • In the window 'Print Preview' colors are wrong

I use Photoshop CS on a G4 Mac (PPC) with OS X 10.4.11.

I usually use "Print preview" to print photos. I used to get good results, but something seems to have changed (or I accidentally changed a setting somewhere). When I open an image in Photoshop, the colors on my screen (which I regularly calibrate) look right. But when I go to 'Print Preview', the displayed image in the layout window is now much darker, red are more Browns and generally shades seem quite wrong. And what is even worse, is that when I print, the results correspond to the wrong colors in the preview window and not the correct colors that I see when I look at the image directly into Photoshop.

I have attached a screenshot, showing a picture of open directly in Photoshop CS color test (left) and (to the right) how it looks in the preview window.

Can anyone suggest what could have gone wrong? I would be very grateful for the suggestions.

I recommend first of ALL in the color selection Photoshop settings something like us Prepress Defaults to activate three PRESERVE embedded profiles and three warnings in profile and reset all dinking around someone could have made in advanced here.

Then select the RGB and CMYK job, then immediately save these settings with a unique nme so that you can tell if someone has changed something.

If you understand not work and target profile questions and want the highest quality RGB color, I would recommend setting RGB of Photoshop ProPhoto RGB work and implementation of Adobe Camera Raw to open your RAW in ProPhoto RGB 16-bit images... it works for the me... or you can keep working RGB from Photoshop to Adobe RGB, or sRGB if you are not sure of what you are doing.

Some time previously, on print quality default settngs, black would be weak or incomplete on the last lines of a page. If there are more pages, each would start fine but have poor quality down. I changed the setting from standard to high quality and the problem seemed fixed. These days the poor quality near bottom of page returned. Now the black print at all, even after a new cartridge and the head cleaning. Colors print OK. I need to replace the print head?

In fact, remove the ink tanks & placing the printhead in a flat shallow of Windex for 2-3 hours has helped produce a nozzle test print which was sharp as a cleat, black included.

Try another application, to see if you have the same results.

I wasn't sure if you meant that you have downloaded and installed the full feature software, or if you use the preinstalled Windows drivers. Here is the link to the full feature software: DJ_AIO_03_F2200_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_140_404 - 4.exe

If you haven't already done so.

You can check the settings of the print using this paper driver, HP printers - change the print settings (Windows 8).

Do not take into account the title.

You can also download and run the print and Scan doctor, he will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically.

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor?

Please let me know the results and if there is anything else I can help you. Thank you.

  • HP Deskjet F2280 all-in-one: color print images saved offline problems.

When I print an image that I downloaded from the internet, the colors do not conform to the original (a lot of blue in there).  I printed directly from the printer itself, and that's fine.  I changed the color cartridge, did the cleaning, checked, I had download the correct software and tried to open the image in paint, but still not good.  I changed the setting to fast eco who, although not the bright, the image itself so more true to color.  Can anyone help please.

Hi @anniegwenand welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that when you print images that you save from the internet, the colors are not what you expect and the printed output is more blue than the original. Because when you print directly form the printer (copy) the output is as expected, I suspect that the issue has to do with the print settings, a driver or a program that you are printing from.

I suggest to use the following steps to remove the printer from the device and printers and the driver from the properties of the server. This will help isolate the driver.

    1. in the folder "devices and printers".

    2. choose "print server properties.

    • Win XP - with no printer selected, click 'File' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows Vista - with no printer selected, press 'Alt' and then click 'file' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows 7/8, 8.1 and 10 -select any printer in the "Devices and printers" folder and click on "Print server properties" above.

    3. click on the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window "properties of the print server.

    4. choose the printer that you want to uninstall, and then click 'remove '.

    5. choose "Remove driver only.

    6. the next screen will give a warning, letting you know that the removal of the driver package will remove it from the system. Click 'Yes' to say are you sure you want to do.

If documents are stuck in the spooler to print, you see an error, cancel all documents waiting in the print queue or try restart the spooler to print, and then try to delete the driver from 'Print server properties' again. If she will not always remove the sachet, restart the computer and the printer should correct this error "in use" and allow the driver to be removed.

Once the driver is then deleted, open start > all programs > HP folder > folder printer > HP Setup and software (or the icon of the printer). The installation screen and the software opens and you can click on connect a new printer.

If the fingerprints still don't match what you see on the screen, try to print in a different program. For example, instead of save an internet image, print the image directly from the browser. In bold, what brings the cause to wonder, when you save, you are printing on photo paper? Have you compared the print quality between an image printed on ordinary paper and a image on photo paper? If you use photo paper, and that's the only time where the output is more blue than expected, please try different photo paper. I know this sounds unlikely, but I seen the book be causing more time than you probably imagine.

Let me know the results of your efforts at this point, and we will proceed if other troubleshooting is necessary. If something I suggested the problem, please click Accept button Solution below to report your post as solved.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing back on your part.

  • Should images in Bridge are different from each other? sRGB vs ARGB vs ProPhoto?

I am looking for some clarification on this because I'm at a standstill and going bonkers.  First of all, it's a long story how I got here, but to shorten, I had to buy a new screen, my old one crapped out.  I bought a screen wide range NEC and then need a new graphics card so bought a new HP workstation and then because of the external drive connection problems had to reluctantly upgrade to windows 8.1.  So I'm not sure where the conflict lies from the new to the foregoing.

My old set up worked fine, I managed ARGB color.  Prints from my printer and laboratories corresponding Photo on my monitor calibrated.  I sold a lot of pictures and everything was good.   I've always used Bridge and PS, I found import into Lightroom bulky... .so it has not been used much.

Now, I love Lightroom, but all my images are not importing, so I always use with bridge for display. I like to see images in Bridge for comparison and approval.

My dilemma is here... Many of my images look different in Bridge and change before my eyes, never had that happen before.  Sometimes images differently Tags are sometimes similar, they are different and they change.   Why not compatible?  and what if they look like?  For example, to be clear.  I have 2 different images and each of them is duplicated and labeled in each color space.  sRGb, ProPhoto and ARGB.  A single image they all look the same, the other images, they all look different.   Why?

If I change the settings of ARGB color for general use they will not always vary all over and over again.  I have conflicts somewhere... but it cannot narrow down.

My goal would be to bridge to show me pictures sRGB as tagged tagged ARGB and sRGB images to resemble ARGB and Pro Photo images to look like pictures of ProP.  It is naïve to me who?

The first thing you need to know about the bridge, it is that it stores all the previews JPEG sRGB, regardless of the original color of the file space. IOW they should all be the same under any circumstances.

However, the preview properly on screen rendering often takes a bit of time. Usually there is a brief initial moment where you see the file without color management, before bridge has the time to convert the preview in the monitor profile.

It should quickly snap into the correct view. But sometimes it hangs and stays in the State 'without color managed", on the one hand, several or all the previews. When this happens, the quick solution is to right-click and 'Purging the Cache for Selection'. It will then refresh correctly.

You haven't noticed this with the standard range, old screen - it would have been anyway sRGB to sRGB (ish). But with a range wide screen, it becomes obviously oversaturated.

Changing the color settings makes no difference. Profile embedded which - replace and like I said the bridge previews are sRGB in all cases.

    Hi GANESHKUMARAPILLAI CHRYSTELLE,.

Here is a link for color management workflows in Illustrator.

It is best to place the image instead of paste into Illustrator. When you paste the images they are in RGB color format. Make sure your document is a RGB file

  • The color in printed images is not match the colors on the screen

I've recently updated to an iMac, retina 5K and the colors in the printed images do not match the colors of the image on the screen. I use CS6 and the screenshot below shows that, in the window of the print settings CS6 image does not match the image of origin either, the original image on the left.  I've updated all print drivers, and the images are also too green/faded when I print them, or download them on Animoto or Mpixpro.  We tried a Spyder calibration system, and that did not help.  For now, I have to make a folder separate with "twisted" images that have increased the saturation and Communists to give them a normal appearance.  Does anyone else have this problem?

Unless you have a current color profile for the display you are using and you have calibrated the printer for the specific of ink and paper that you are using, its not surprising there are differences. Without a color managed workflow screen and software have no information on what the printer can produce.

The range Spyder products are not up to the task.

The normal options for managing your color workflow are:

    1. using the X-Rite i1 photo system,

    2. purchase of a custom profile for your type of printer, paper and ink, done by a specialist in color management

3 - Send your files to a professional lab that is capable of producing quality work.

  • Print black color with a color of the image page

If I set up my printer to print in color, it prints black parts with cartridege or black color combination?

    Hi reneincer,

I understand that you would like to know if the printer uses black ink if you set up to print with the color cartridges.

There are different to choose print settings.

High quality grayscale will use less cyan, megenta and yellow (CMY) that say normal printing mode, but will not be a drastic reduction. However, the only feature of black ink slightly reduced the use of the CMJ. This setting produces a composite black.

The feature of black ink only will limit the use of color for the amount that passes under the black ink to ensure an impression for a long time and the true-black tone that should.

More economical printing would quickly the project and black ink only.  Grayscale setting uses the color cartridge to print in grayscale, because it offers better quality.  The quality is better with shades of gray, but it uses more ink.

You will find information in the following article. Use of inkjet printers ink.

Here is a document on the color management settings.

    I hope it's useful.

  • C4480: Printing labels color leads to double image, levels of grayscale print normally

I have a C4480 which generally prints normally.

However, when I print a pdf file that I created for some labels, it prints a miniature double image on all labels on the left side (except the top one). The pdf file is displayed correctly on the screen and I got another print the PDF on a different printer and it works beautifully.

I tried changing various settings and the only thing that gets him to print normally is by selecting the grayscale option.
But I need the labels in color.

Below I have downloaded images of what happens.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

As you can see there is a mini image superimposed on all but one on the left side.
If I change the grayscale setting, then it prints normally, as shown in the photo below, but I can't print in color without headband mini image on the left side.
I have the latest driver installed and am using true color 75XL ink cartridges HP and 74XL black.
This would cause a wrong color printhead? Its the only thing I can find at the moment, except maybe a few problem of buffer memory in the printer itself, I have tried everything I can think.

Well after weeks trying to fix this issue myself and 2 days looking for an answer here...
