  I had already ordered a new Printhead and installed yesterday.  But it didn't work after aligning the print head process either.

  I have tried resetting by unplugging the printer and hold the # and 3 buttons on the keyboard.  He rolled and then he started printing in black ink.  Yay!

  I don't know if the old print head would have worked if I had tried the # and 3 button Reset the process, but I'll keep the old one just in case where (after I wash again).

  Just happy to have a machine working again.  Testing time to go buy more ink after you run most of the color cartridges down with reset and alignment.

  If you print a page of status or the demo of supplies in the menu of the printer, it prints in color. If so, you should check the print driver or to reload the driver.

  I understand that you have an Officejet 6000, which is currently not print black ink. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I will do my best to help you.

  I suggest that you first look through this document for Troubleshooting print quality problems because it may be a few steps that you have not yet tried.  This document 'Print head problem' or "Print head seems to be missing or corrupt" Message appears on the computer has also a few steps to know how to clean the print head manually.

  If all else fails, take a look at the Bob_Headrick station for soaking your printhead.

  I tried to unplug the power plug, power switch, cleaning of the printheads several times (manually), cartridge to give a little air, checked the connections, replacement of cartridge again. Nothing helps.

  Browse the internet: it seems that this problem occurs with the most HP printers.

  See for example: some forum someone temporarily solves the problem by performing cleaning operations for (more than) 7 times, which cost five new cartridges to replace, and after a month or if the problem recurs.

  I wouldn't do this because I don't want to empty an another XL cartridge and then discover the problem recurs.

  The printer (bought in April 2010) is connected through the USB port on a Mac Pro 8Core with OS - X 10.6 (I always use only paper HP and HP original cartridges)

  This "Absolutely" worked for my c309! He started printing gray yesterday, then I finally got the blank pages. My first thought was that HP has screwed me again! lol but I tried the post above... I have unplugged the printer for more than 25 seconds, held down the 3 and # buttons simultaneously for another 25 dry more plugged in printer and now the buttons down then made for another 25 sec.  Had to reset the lang. and the country, but after a few minutes he printed a perfect test page and I was able to print all my docs now!  It was a solution easy vs on the removal of the water and heads/cartridge, etc.  I would try this first and if it doesn't work, then you can try other patches.   I have a Photosmart 5510 new, which was working fine, then suddenly stopped printing black.  Replace the cartridge and still nothing.  Prints fine colour, but not black.  No error message, just jumps print anything in black.  Excluded bone by the attempt at analysis and still nothing.

  Yay! I'm happy now. I did the thing to chat online with technical support and that's what I got: on the front screen of the printer, press the arrow to the right, and you should see an icon "Setup." Press on that. Then press tools, then scroll down to "Clean print head." Press the key. When it's done it spits out a test page and voila! It now prints. I hope that this works for some of you all!

  I have HP Officejet all-in-one Premium 6700, use Windows 7 64-bit; no error message; just will not print in color. Use a black non Hp cartridge, which ceased all impressions; bought the new black 932XL cartridge; now the printer prints, but only in color B & W, other cartridges are HP and will not empty (1/2 full). Advanced grayscale setting is DISABLED. Still will not print in color. All the test pages are B & W. diagnosis & questions do not address this problem.

  There was a similar position two years ago. After changing the cartiridge (564XL) black printing, the printer will not copy documents. He behaves as if I placed a blank sheet of paper on the glass. I can scan the document and print the .jpeg, but not the document. The print quality of everything else is mediocre - very light on blacks, even though the colors are fine. I ran through all the diagnostic tests and he told me that the printer is fine, although the black box on the diagnostic page is empty.   I understand that you would like to know if the printer uses black ink if you set up to print with the color cartridges.

  There are different to choose print settings.

  High quality grayscale will use less cyan, megenta and yellow (CMY) that say normal printing mode, but will not be a drastic reduction. However, the only feature of black ink slightly reduced the use of the CMJ. This setting produces a composite black.

  The feature of black ink only will limit the use of color for the amount that passes under the black ink to ensure an impression for a long time and the true-black tone that should.

  More economical printing would quickly the project and black ink only.  Grayscale setting uses the color cartridge to print in grayscale, because it offers better quality.  The quality is better with shades of gray, but it uses more ink.
