  • Print labels on DVDs and CDs using disks light scribe

I recently bought a hard drive 750 GB of HP DV 7 QuadCore with 8 GB of RAM and a blue Ray player. I was wondering if I would be able to use disks light scribe to burn labels onto CDs and DVDs using my blue Ray player, since it is also a super multi drive. Or I'm wrong because I have come to understand that HP which was pretty much standard on their laptop computers and other computers because they are mainly manufacturers of disc light scribe. Please help me this is my first HP computer. Thank you!!

    Hello

DV7 is a series of several models of laptops. What is yours, but since id light scrib not very popular now so your machine may or may not have it. Again, you must check the specifications of your machine and the quick way to check is his model. Here's how:

I am very surprised of the HP solution on the issue of Light Scribe readers.

Recently I had to return my HP product for repair as the DVD drive had stopped reading discs of any type. Of course, HP replaced the drive and returned my PC. As part of my request, they did a clean system installation without saving my software.

When I reinstalled the Panel control light scribe new DVD was not recognized as a light scribe drive although initially, I had a light scribe drive because he was one of the 3 specific request at the time ordered the PC, I did. HP sent me a replacement unit that has proved to be the exact same drive as the technician was replaced while the aircraft was at HP for repair. As part of the solution, I was assigned a case manager with a HP technician to contact me. Fortunately, I had an external drive light scribe, I was able to connect to the system, the technology could check I got all the software and drivers installed and the problem was indeed with replacement discs.

I was told at the time they would contact the seller, I guess it's Toshiba or Samsung and find a solution to the problem. Well after 3 weeks of waiting, I was contacted and informed that light scribe technology would be is no longer supported in players coming in HP laptops and that he received a gift of $125 in compensation for the inconvience.

It really surprises me. I used light scribe for years. All my blank media is light scribe. Not to mention that light scribe is a technology developed and promoted by HP. Find it me hard to believe that HP can not or that he chose to not continue to provide readers with technology light scribe. Over the years, I found this technology be fantastic to design labels, including images and text, and providing the need for printed labels or using markers to record lable.

I guess there is no one who can do something about this decision but I wanted to get my opion said here the forum for others to read and I hope the state their disappointment are this new.

If you agree please shut you up.

    John

Obviously this is not something that HP publicized so I don't think it's well known. I've used Lightscribe just a bit to do what you say; make custom DVDs. My complaint with it is that the media are very expensive and the process is very slow, especially if you want a dark print.  I think that all readers of DV7 are compatible, so you will probably find even a former of the a DV7 series earlier:

For $22 you can not go wrong. I searched on eBay as "DVD - RW lightscribe DV7" and came up with many of them. I'm sure you can find your color and everything. Replacement is to remove a screw, slide the old out and insert a new.

  • Printer lights.

I have a printer all-in-one HP psc 2110. Last week, our electricity is out for a day. When the power was restored the printer lights not when I turned the computer back on.  The monitor and the computer that both power very well, but the printer would not turn.  I unplugged for a while, cleaned, spoke kindly to it... nothing.  I am a senior at technology-challenged... Can someone help me?

Sorry if I have indicated an incorrect forum.  I'm not very good at knowing what systems I have and what things are called and how they really work.

I tried everything I could think of to get the printer works, but I think you're right... it's probably time for a new printer.

I thank very you much for your time and your help.

It is not a problem that you have chosen this forum - I have just crossing the process to understand what was wrong logically.

The printer won't even turn on - then the first place to go is the study of material - given all that you said you've tried already.

It looks like the cut/surge that followed may have fried something.  I guess you tried in an outlet different and other?  -I hope - you also have all of the computer at least on a surge protector or a block Up ups (UPS) with automatic Votage (APR) incorporated - regulation to protect the equipment connected to such things?  (It is worth the investment in most of the cases).

  • HP Laserjet 1018: Printer light blinks 15 times but does not print

I have 2 printers, my work horse HP laser jet and a Brother Multi printer/scanner/fax etc. Both printers work correctly when connected (usb to LJ1018 connection) or wireless (Brother MFC) to my notebook running windows 7 lite.

My desktop HP compaq core 2 duo machine is connected to two printers with the help of a brother network cable and a usb cable for the LJ1018 but I decided to connect the brother wireless to my network, because it allowed me to use my netbook without having to plug in a usb or network cable. I also created my office to connect wireless to the brother and it works fine, but now I find that I can not use the LJ1018 that I think only has a usb cable connection. Although the computer says the printer is connected it is flashing the light several times - about 15 but does not print anything. I tried to reinstall the USB driver but this makes no difference. One thought I have is that Windows XP cannot deal with a wireless connection, but also a connection usb, if yes can I have go back to wired connections?

    Hi @petec48,

Personally, if it is not broken, do not fix.

    Fixing of the flashing lights

HP has designed a quick and easy tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of hardware: the HP diagnostic utility hardware. These hardware issues can prevent printing, scanning or copying. HP recommends that you download and install the Diagnostic Utility material at any time that you need to solve a hardware problem.

  • Reference Dell 3100 cn - prints light down left side

Had problems with my 3100 cn laser printer impression of light on the left side of each page, so I bought a new drum thinking that was the problem, but it did not work. I use Dell toner and toner levels are fine, so I wonder why the print quality is poor? Ideas please!

    Thank you

    Paul

    paulchapman31,

Try to clean the toner by following the information below.

A wand of cleaning for cleaning the printer is installed on your printer.
    1. open the front door.

    2. remove the scroll bar that is inside the printer right up to the stop.
    Access window cover slides open.

    3. hold the cleaning rod and push the stem and shoot once to clean the inside of the printer.

4 move the slide to its original position.
    5. close the front cover

  • OJ Pro 8000 A809n - printer lights up with LEDs indicating paper jam

OJ Pro 8000 A809n - equipped printer CONTINUE and the POWER of the lights. I press NEXT and it feeds a sheet, but top sheet passes through the print area and stops at halfway to the bottom of the sheet. I press CONTINUE and it ejects the sheet, but the lights flash. I looked everywhere for a very small piece of paper stuck somewhere, including the duplexer and don't see anything - even used flashlight. I did a power reset a few times and even reinstalled the print heads. Where are the paper sensors located on this beast? In addition, other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Printer has a broken part. Component: open the top cover and you will see 8 white rolls. Look to the left of these rolls and you will see a white gear. To the left of the white gear, you will see a black piece of plastic with a slot inside. This dark room also has an arm coming out to his left. (This arm goes up in a slot on a white collar). At the end of the arms of the black room, there should be a piece of it pointing right up on you. This piece from the end of the arm was broken. I have fished it from the bottom of the printer and pasted carefully super back on, making sure what I not paste on the white collar. Printer works fine now.  It may not last long, but right now it's OK.
