Print spooler not turned on do not, how do I turn it on?

I did a search print spooler, but when I try to open it with windows search, nothing happens.  Troubleshooting repeatedly tells me that my printer does not work because it is turned off.  I tried to uninstall, but impossible to reinstall without the print spooler on.

Type services in the start search box, press on enter.

Go to the bottom of the list of print spooler and click on start.

  • Printer Spooler not started or has the error?

When you run in the installation or printing issues, and it gives you a message on your "Printer Spooler", it is usually in the service of your window.

Here are some measures that you can get (again).

    1. click on Start Menu
    2 right click computer
    3. choose MANAGE
    4. click on Services and Applications
    5. choose the Services
6 scroll down until you see PRINT SPOOLER, if it is there, click on it and run it. (In addition, it should be NOT automatic manual)

If the "Printer Spooler" isn't on the list, you will need to contact your WINDOWS because this should be already on your computer and START.

Thanks for reading, hope this helps.

    Hi Marius,.

As you mentioned that you are unable to find the folder of spool, check if spoolsv.exe is present under C:\Windows\System32.

Follow these tips and check if that helps.

Method 1: Run the built-in printer Troubleshooter and check if that helps.
    Open utility troubleshooting printer

Method 2: I suggest you refer to the suggestion of Gokul T responded on November 6, 2009, for a similar problem.

  • Can not go to sleep, "print spooler" which prevent me from entering

Switch to standby mode, print spooler cannot prevent me to enter

It's true...  XP "checks" with everyone of course no process is in the middle of nothing, and if something says it is busy, you will not enter standby.

Looks like your print spooler is somehow watered upward.  I would stop your Print Spooler Service, delete all print jobs, pending or failures of the queue and then restart the Print Spooler Service.

    Here's how:

To clear the print queue, stop the Print Spooler Service and delete all the pending print files.

You cannot delete all print jobs in the queue so that the Print Spooler Service is running.

To stop the Print Spooler Service, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to open the Services Applet.

Locate the Print Spooler Service, right click and choose 'Properties' and then click on the "Stop" button to stop the Print Spooler Service is running.

The option "Startup Type" of Service properties print spooler is usually set to "Automatic" (which is now a good time to check it out).

If the "Startup type" is not set to "Automatic", set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" If that is your desire (which now is the time to check it out).

Do not try to start or restart the Print Spooler Service again...

Then, delete all updates pending upward and forward to printing from XP.  If they do not print before, you will need to send the to the printer again.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

Delete all the print jobs in queue (select and delete all the files) in the folder if the folder is without waiting for print jobs.  The folder must be empty when you are finished.

Reboot your system and check the Print Spooler Service again to make sure the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically restart (given that the startup type is set to automatic).

After the reboot, check again the Spooler Service for printing and the 'Status' column for the print spooler must be read "started."

Submit new failure of print jobs.

  • Spool print will not be started.

My spool print will not run.  I went and restarted and it won't stay running.  I try to add a printer, and he says he can't because spool it printing stops again.  Would it be useful to reinstall windows?

My spool print will not run.  I went and restarted and it won't stay running.  I try to add a printer, and he says he can't because spool it printing stops again.  Would it be useful to reinstall windows?

It would probably help if you reinstalled Windows, but this is a drastic measure and almost certainly useless to take in response to this error.

When you restart the print spooler, it immediately turning off or only when you try to print?

Assuming that you have an up-to-date antivirus application and have recently scanned withMalwareBytes Antimalware and SUPERAntiSpyware as you are reasonably confident that your computer is free of malware, the most likely reasons for the print spooler not running are a corrupt print job stuck in the queue or a damaged printer driver.
