Print-to-fax using JO 6500

I am trying to send a PDF file using my JO 6500 e709a print-to-fax service.  The host computer is running Windows XP Pro-32.

It is a document of loan, and the Bank will only accept faxes, (without attachments).  The document is 64 pages long and I don't want to invest that much paper and ink just to turn around and run it through the scanner.

I did this with success last month.  That was the first time I had ever used the print-to-fax service of my 6500 and it was completely painless and intuitive.  I opened the document in Acrobat Reader, press 'print' and then chose the "series of HP6500 fax" printer menu drop-down.  After Acrobat had finished export, I get a popup of 6500 the asking the destination fax number, contact and other information cover sheet.  I click 'send' and offshore, he went.

Naturally, the Bank wanted some changes in the document and needs, all re-sent.  I made the changes and try to send again.  This time after Acrobat is done export I get... nothing.  No popup, no error message, nothing in the queue for the printer.

I checked all of the installation settings, etc, and the unit works perfectly also. It prints, scans, and faxes of the scanner without problem.

I am at a loss what to do.  I need to get this document to the Bank as soon as POSSIBLE.

Hello J,

I think this might be a question of microsoft in that you could possibly use their built-in fax and connect the telephone line to your computer for the duration.  See the method in the link below

  • Problems faxes sent using Windows - Windows XP - Windows XP printing and fax

    I have Windows Fax properly installed under Windows XP SP3 with Aztech SoftK56 Data Fax PCI Modem (manufacturer CXT).  The modem receives incoming faxes, but does not send.  The Fax Console States that there is 'No response' to fax numbers that were entered correctly and I first rang just to check if they are indeed the fax number and if they work. This has been attempted without dialing rules, as well as the rules of composition and is still a problem.

    Fax numbers that I tried to send to are of the format: -.

    1 020-7833-nnnn 2.  020-07380-nnnnnn 3.  01324 - nnnnnn

    NB. an attempt was when the Fax Console has awarded occupied status "line".  It was too fake I think.

    Device Manager indicates that the Fax Modem works properly.  I agree completely with this.

    The Fax Modem receives incoming messages that suggest that the Modem is compatible with Windows Fax under Windows XP SP3 and I should also be able to send messages using Windows Fax.

    Have you the XP community and other suggestions?

    Problems with faxing using Windows Fax in Windows XP seems to have been a problem for a number of people.  However, there is no published statement of a solution that I can find.

    Fax services Windows XP is not a very robust application.  The usual answer to questions such as yours is, "If the modem is not on the compatibility list hardware Windows XP, then it probably won't work with Services of Fax XP."  The problem with such a response is that the XP HCL (or whatever Microsoft changed its name to) is no longer available, and even if that were the case, you probably couldn't find one of the modems listed to sell more.

    Your phone numbers are clearly not to the United States.  In the United Kingdom perhaps?  If you are using dialing rules, so the number called and the call number must be included in the 'canonical form'http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318575/

    With the American numbers, this means that they would look like this: + 1 (202) 456-1414 (standard White House). If you call a London phone number, it could be something like this: + 44 (020) 7782-5000 (Sunday Times).

    I'm sure that you must sign, almost certainly you need parentheses and don't know the spaces and dashes. For this reason, I don't usually use dialing rules.

    When you leave the area for numbering rules uncontrolled, you must enter the phone number EXACTLY as you would if you were composing a normal phone using the line to which the modem is connected.

    Try to send a fax to your phone (mobile or not, it is not serious).  Is called ringtone? When answer you, you hear fax tones?

    Based on your answers to the above, we can (or cannot) be able to move forward in order to diagnose your problem.

  • Scanning with HP all-in-one printer with fax and scan Windows in Windows 8

    When you install a printer driver in Windows 8, you can scan from your computer without having to install any additional software to HP. This is particularly useful if you want to or not does not require the full functionality software or if your printer does not have a driver to scan for Windows 8.

    Windows Fax and Scan uses a Microsoft Service called WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) to capture an image from the scanner and allow you to save without the need for additional drivers.

    In addition, Windows Fax and Scan cannot scan to PDF.

  • HP4215 printer can be used without phone connection if want to print, scan or copy

    Have a HP4215 printer that has not been used for a few years. Keep allow the family member, who use only a cell phone, and an old Apple laptop for 1 year, to be able to use it to print, scan and copy only - no fax.  If it downloads the driver, and hooks the USB, the printer can be used without a line of phone being installed?

    Hello

    Yes, given the portable computer Apple has USB ports, you can connect your printer to the laptop via a USB port, but you will not be able to print from cell phone. If you want to print anything from cell phone, the quick and easy way: send or copy on the laptop from Apple to print.

    Kind regards.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: officejet pro will not automatically print incoming faxes & answer

    I have a brand new Pro of Officejet 8620.   When I receive incoming faxes, I must be at the printer to press the ACCEPT button on the LCD screen.  I put the printer/fax AUTO ANSWER.    It did not work.  Any suggestions on how to have the unit automaticlly answer & print incoming faxes without having to be in the machine when machiines phone line rings.   I put the machine to meet Telec.  It is not set to meet incoming voice communication.

    Thank you for your informative reply!  PROBLEM SOLVED.  I was able to access the HP phone support people yesterday afternoon.  They very kindly put me through many of the steps you mentioned, that didn't work.  Finally the second support officer who got me the steps I have press the RESET button in THE SETTINGS on the LCD screen by DEFAULT and immediately after this step, solved the problem.

    My suspicion is that the machine, although that brand new, was in fact a refurbished machine sent to me by HP to replace the original purchase, which had a LCD screen showing only Chinese language that could not be changed.

    The replacement machine probably had been implemented at the different use of mine.

    Thanks to the lady who finally suggested hit the RESET button to THE DEFAULT SETTINGS as well as other people who responded!

    Everything is fine!      Aaron

  • I can't print a fax.

    I work in Windows Vista & using a new HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium. I have a very important fax that will not be printed. The control panel keeps saying that I have more paper. That's what indicates that I want to print in color and I don't have. Exactly how to change the default value of fax to always print in black?

    Hi nicurn,

    You have more than one installed on this 8600 printer paper tray?

    If so, the two plates has the same paper installed?

    Is this fax, letter or legal size document?

    Print in color or black will not cause the out of paper message you see. Make sure you have the right paper installed in the bins in order to print the fax.

  • HP J3608 Fax problem: recipient cannot hear me when sending faxes using the HP Solution Center

    Hi all

    I have problems with our HP Officejet J3608. I have explored its functionality to send the fax using Solution Center HP AIO. So I opened a word file > press print to the fax > then a dialog box appears asking you for the recipient and all other info > I enter the number of the recipient fax and press send fax > then the fax includes the number and rings > the recipient responds by saying hello, "who is this?" > I said hi, "can I have a fax tone?" > the recipient says ' Hello? Hello?? "then drops the phone.

    Then I found that the recipient cannot hear us on our part, I tested it with other recipients. The recipient is on strong talk and when I lift the phone in the device, it is always to steal it. What is the problem here?

    Take note that this is not happening when we directly dial the telephone number of the device and feeding it with a printed version.

    Thank you very much and I hope someone answer my question. This will really mean a lot.

    Depending on the machine you send your fax to depends on how he responds. Most fax machines have no phone attachments, and the 'auto response' is a parameter that allows the printer to recognize the incoming faxes and receive them automatically. What you describe is the manual answer option, in which the recipient recognized the incoming fax and must manually answer.

    In this scenario, it will depend on the machine you are sending to and whether it can receive in this same way.

    Let me know!

  • Hp7520 prints a fax several times

    My HP 7520 just started to print a fax several times. It was working fine before this. It seems to be of those who fail after 3 attempts to fax service.

    Hi chitchman7000,

    Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

    Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the printer print fax several times.

    Please remember that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a strip bar. HP printers have built in surge protector and if you have connected it to a strip bar, the printer will NOT get all the power it needs to function properly and it could cause communication problems with the part of the printer fax.  Here is a document that explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

    Please note that the printer listed in the document is a LaserJet printer, and it is used only as an example and that the document is intended for HP products in general.

    Please also check the telephone cable that is plugged into the number 1 slot in the back of the printer to make sure it's the appropriate cable two connectors of copper for the fax.  If you remove the cable from the phone and look at the transparent plastic at the end of the cable plug, you will be able to see the copper strips. If you see 4 strips then you have poorly connected phone cable and this could very well be the question.

    Please do not hesitate to write me again and I'll be happy to offer more assistance.

    Thank you for your time.

  • HP Laserjet P1102w does not appear in the list print and fax OS 10.5.8

    Receive a HP Laserjet 1102w and tried to install it on Mac OS 10.5.8.  I downloaded and ran the HP drivers but when I go to add the printer in system preferences/printers and faxes in the list of available printers is empty.  I tried several routines suggested by a search on the web about the problem without result.

    Everyone out there solved this problem?

    Thank you for your attention.  I found the solution.  See below.

    The printer is connected by USB and I also tried to get the wireless connection.  I had intermittent progress on both fronts, but could not make a successful installation of USB connection or wireless connection.  The printer would "disappear" the list of available printers (using the '+' to add a printer, OS 10.6.8) or does not meet the installation commands.  And I could not connect the printer wireless to my network of 'take'

    Print the configuration page was of no use.  If the printer is unable to connect to the wireless network, it reports the IP address of the printer such as 0.0.0.0.

    TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

    (clicking + under "Print and Fax" printer is not displayed or the name of the printer is removed)

    (1) replace the USB - the original was sensitive to cut;

    (2) give up the wireless - to - wireless set up methods - no amount of factory reset does not erase block of connection of mystery;

    (3) set up the connection through a USB cable wireless (good);

    (3) to switch the browser used to display the configuration page from the printer in Firefox (for Mac OS 10.6.8 34.0.5) for Safari

    (4) use security mode WPA (WEP not as suggested by HP help files).

    The main troublemaker was the bad USB cable.  Go to put wireless in place assume that the printer can connect to the network. As already mentioned, the WiFi was not working.  Network blue light would not come into balance.  A transmission option was blocking handshaking between the printer and my wireless router.  I tried unsuccessfully recommended factory reset methods.

    I needed a good USB connection to access the printer configuration options.

    Don't know which increased with Firefox - a plugin bad or something?  It would be not just connect them to the printer via IP addressing.  Safari worked fine.  (The printer is now successfully Setup that Firefox has decided to work too.)

    THE SOLUTION IS:

    (1) connect the printer and Mac via a cable (good);

    (1) use Safari to go to the printer setup functions (through the system preferences/print & / fax options & supplies show printer web page);

    (2) follow the recommended configuration options (HP support for Laserjet P1102w, OS 10.6, via a USB cable to connect wireless);

    (3) select the appropriate wireless in the list;

    (4) restore WPA security mode; and

    (5) to give the printer the correct wireless network password.

    Thank you and the forum, for your help.

  • I'm scanning in legal size docs. with my printer/scan/fax. The application of fax scan in windows 7 does not show an option to paper size for legal-size paper.

    I have a new HP with Windows 7.  I'm scanning in legal size docs. with my printer/scan/fax.  The application of fax scan in windows 7 does not show an option to paper size for legal-size paper.  I could do this on my old XP computer.  Microsoft forgot add parameters of legal size in this application?

    Hello notnewbee,

    Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

    You do not give the model of your printer/scanner/fax machine so I can't direct you to the website of the manufacturer of specifc. However, I would
    you go to the website of the manufacturer of your printer and download the latest drivers for Windows 7. Sometimes, if you use a driver that is not intended for your operating system, then your device can operate and install, but some features may not work.

    If they do not have an updated driver, then try the compatibility mode for Windows XP and see if your printer will work correctly.
    The information below will show you how you can make older programs run on Windows 7 here.

    If please reply back and let us know if this helps solve your problem or if you still need help.

  • How to install printer windows fax and scanning

    I am able to use my printer on the other program, but when I tried to use it as a scanner in windows fax and scan. He is not able to detect my printer.  IM using windows 8 right now. Does anyone know how can I install it?

    Thank you

    Don't forget that the scanner cannot be shared as a printer. It must be directly connected by cable to the computer that you use to analyze - not connected to another computer on the network. The exception is a scanner printer wireless connected to a wireless router.

  • 7510 HP Print eFax entering using photo tray 4 x 6 instead of regular paper tray

    The free eFax sends incoming faxes to the printer in TIF format.  Unless you pay for the upgrade to eFax service, you don't have the choice of formats (PDFs, for example).  The problem is that the printer sees the TIF attachment when eFax sends it to the printer and wants to automatically print it by using the paper tray photo (4 x 6) rather than the normal paper tray.  How do you get the 7510 DO NOT auto select the paper tray according to the type of attachment?
