Printable list of all installed programs

How can I quickly get a printable list of all installed programs and program information, i.e. version?

Can you open control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and features and then use the tool captures to save an image of the page for printing?  You may need to do it in several parts for complete list.

Program and features should be in Details view.  You can also use the details to choose... to get the additional columns

  • Not all installed programs appear in "programs and features".

A few days ago, I installed GTA IV with all components like Rockstar Social Club, Games for Windows and things related as update for .net 3.5 SP1 and so on. Since then, whenever I open the "programs and features" dialog box (I dunno if it's the correct name because I use a German, Vista Ultimate SP1...) the dialog box shows some of the installed programs and the scanning process remains active all the time. In the Task Manager, the explorer.exe shows a 99% CPU usage, and that's all. Even after a few hours, it's the same thing. Is this a known issue? Y at - it advice or ideas (other then reinstall Vista ;)?

    Hello again Marcus!

I was wondering a few things...

You never said if your system meets the minimum requirements for installation of GTA IV...

    Namely:

    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz, AMD Athlon X 2 64 2.4 Ghz
    • Memory: 1.5 GB
    • Space free hard drive: 16 GB
    • Video card: 256 MB NVidia 7900 / 256 MB ATI X 1900
    • DirectX 9-compatible stereo sound card
    • Keyboard
    • Mouse

If your system does not meet the minimum requirements, alone could cause 99% CPU usage and problems to run the game.

In addition, I never asked before, but I wanted to know if you were trying to uninstall GTA IV when you are looking for in "programs and features"?

If you're still having problems, I suggest to uninstall GTA. If you don't see it in programs and features, you can download the following Microsoft utility and use it to uninstall GTA.

    Windows Install CleanUp Utility: http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301

This will have to be run in XP compatibility mode in Vista

To run a program in compatibility mode:

    1. Right click on the shortcut for the item.
    2. Click on Properties
    3. Click on the compatibility tab.
    4. Check the run this program in compatibility mode for , and then select the version of Windows, the program has been designed for the list. If you don't know what the program is designed for, try Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
    5. Click OK

After uninstalling GTA, see if you have the same problems of use of CPU...

  • Start the list of all menu Programs - folder accidentally moved to the desktop

I just got a new computer with Windows 7.  I accidentally dragged a folder in the "all programs" list in the start menu on the desktop.  I just wanted to create a shortcut, but accidentally moved the folder instead.  How do I restore the folder to the list of "all programs"?

    Hello

That is not a problem and it is easy to retrieve.  You are going to want to go where the files and folders are stored in your Start menu and the best way to do this is to open your Start menu, go to all programs and on another folder with the right mouse button and choose explore.  This will put you in the location wherever the folders and shortcuts are stored.  From there, just move up a level and move the backrest to the workstation and you should be good.

For more information, there are 2 folders that make up what you see in the menu start, a common (or public) and a private.  Both get merged to give a smooth.

The common (public), one is to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program

and the private sector, one is C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Files above are below hidden folders so you will need to first enable the option to view hidden folders and files, but the right click Explore method is the best way to get there anyway.

Finally, if you want to create a shortcut to a folder on the start menu, find it and then right click and choose "send to".  Under this menu, you will see an option to create a shortcut on the desktop.

    I hope this helps.

Good luck & enjoy Windows 7

  • Error message: lack of DLL files for all installed programs.

When I connect I get an error message for each startup program indicating that a DLL file is missing. This also occurs whenever I try to open a program. My laptop is now 4 years old and supposed to be running the Media Center Edition Version 2002 XP, but I don't the had not used for a long time, and it will not open at all now. I don't want to have to reinstall the operating system I have almost 100 GB of programs that I have bought and downloaded. In addition, it leaves me not make a back up of my DVD - RW drive. I tried to use a DVD and a CD, the only thing that works is a flash drive, but I have two 4 GB flash drives, cannot find, but at the current time and the other is 512 MB. Don't know if that makes a difference, but it's a Gateway computer and SP3 is already installed.  I also have problems with automatic updates is no longer installed. When I sent an email to Microsoft their tech support told me to remove the 2 programs, I don't remember which, but it was something 2.0, 3.5 and 5 and now I can't get back them on the computer. In any case, I hope someone can help, because I can't let me put my laptop in the store.  He is already on a wing and a prayer with one hinge broken, but other than the problems that I've listed most are boring, it's a very good computer. And considering that I paid nearly $1,000 for him in 2007, I don't have the necessary funds to replace at this time or that I said even repaired. I hope I can do what to do myself for as long as the software is that anyone can give me instructions step by step.  Thank you.

There is a detailed post and we appreciate the effort you put in.  But your post is in the forum of the people who use anti-malware Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) program and this issue does not appear to be linked to the MSE.

Maybe you deleted the Framework Net updates but I don't know why and certainly cannot be sure of this at the moment.  Your questions may best be resolved if ask you for help at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us.  Suggest you try the XP or Windows Update Forums.

  • Is there a utility that will give me a list of all the programs or processes loaded in the startup process?

There must be some sort of utility that will allow a user to view and edit, what programs or services that load during the startup process. In my case, during this process, a screen will appear that says; "cannot find the program. Skipping Autocheck. I need to eliminate what it comes to store the boot process.

There is Autoruns , but it can be dangerous because it shows everything so use at your own risk

  • Most of my installed programs is not listed when you click on programs.

    Original title: lack of programs

I am running vista professional.  When I click on all programs. most of my installed programs may not be listed.

In this case, I would try to determine if the programs are always installed at all (and perhaps only shortcuts are missing).

To find, you can consult the Program Files folder by clicking on start > computer, then opening your C: drive, then the Program Files folder to explore.

If the programs are there, you can create new shortcuts for them. Although some programs that can make it difficult.

A simpler solution may be trying to restore to an earlier date even, or reinstall programs.

  • Folder "Programs and features" shows the installed program, but is blank when the file size must be listed.

Original title: what does it mean when you have a program installed, but when you open the folder "Programs and features" it shows the program installed but remains empty where should be the size of the file?

Shows information for the installed program, including the NAME, PUBLISHER, & INSTALLED ON (DATE), but under the info column of SIZE empty sound while 98% of all my installed programs show how much KB or MB "and specific program installed. Seems to lack the SIZE info only on any one of my Adobe programs and a few select other random programs?

    Hi AlinaSporl,

The size information is reported by the uninstaller for each program component. A program of uninstalling programs will not report this value, so the size of the program does not appear in this list.

Another way to get a close estimate of the total size for an individual program is to check the properties of this installation of programs parent folder in C:\Program Files.

You can read the following article and check:

How add/remove programs is the size and other information?

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Not appearing is not in the installed programs Panel > uninstall program list

I noticed a few weeks ago that most of my installed programs, especially those that I installed myself (but not all), do not arise in my part of the control panel uninstall.  They are all on my computer, and I can use them all.  I also noticed that most programs that do NOT are in the Program Files (x 86) folder on the C drive.  Programs presenting themselves seem to be ones that came installed on the computer when I bought it (this is not the case for each of them) and are in the regular Program Files folder on the C drive.  Any idea what the problem may be and how to fix it?

Here's what's coming (view, there is not date/time in the column "last used on '.)  These used is displayed).

    Hi GraceBowers,

The programs that you are not able to see under uninstall programs list?

    Method 1
You will not be able to see all the programs installed under Uninstall list of programs such as Internet Explorer, Windows Media player etc. If you want to see the location of the program, try the steps.
    a. right click on the program.
    b. click Properties.
    c. check the location of the program where it was installed.

    Method 2
I suggest you try the manual steps at the following link.

Add/Remove Programs displays installed the tool incorrectly (applies to Windows 7)

Note: The manual steps will work even for Windows 7.

  • Could someone please help me access My VLC Player on my list of 'all programs '?

    Hello

I was on the wrong forum, so I'm starting a new thread. I have a laptop HP, Windows 7 Home, 64 bit. I use VLC player and WMP for different purposes.

For some reason any I don't have easy access to my program VLC. It is not on my list of 'all programs '. I went to start, and search and the program wouldn't come to the top. The only two places I can find it listed on my Uninstall list and default programs. I can't right click anywhere to get a drop down menu to work with. What should do?

    Anne

    And yet a third wire.

1: remove VLC completely from the list 'uninstall '.

    2: restart your PC.

3: go here and download VLC. Choose Save as and save it in your download folder. Do not race. http://www.videolan.org/VLC/index.html

4: close all other programs and turn off your security system and then find VLC in the downloads folder and install it.

5: look at all the options. Especially to add desktop and Start Menu icons.

    6: restart.
