printer connect to MS Word on officejet 6600

I have a document in my MS Word 2007 screen, select printing action, select HP officejet 6600. system gets yhr printer then... does not print the document in the same way that other printers, but instead displays a screen offering options to print fax cover pages, etc.?

DeltaDave,

Welcome to the HP form.

This may be a simplification of your problem, so bear with me.

When you install a multifunction printer, you will often get a couple of "printers" in the list that appears when you select your printer.  One would expect to see the main printer as the default, but if you have selected this printer as the default printer, you can see the fax, a Note, another printer... something you don't expect.  The printer of your choice can be in the drop-down list.

Check if your printer is the default printer for the system.  In windows, Windows 7 and before, it is in devices and printers (from the Control Panel, if you wish).  Right click on the printer - such as the default value.

I use no more Word 2007, Word 2010 is not a selection of printer control in the Options.  You can check to see if there's something hinky (incorrect) in your Word Options (possibly Adavnaced section).

One last thing: If you have not installed the software of full functionality for this printer, it can not easily be driven from the computer.

Thanks BH.  I think I found the solution.  Your advice on Duplex helped.  I sought advice and found that I needed to go to 'Print' > Options > Advanced > Print > and check "Print on the front of the sheet for duplex printing" and "print on the back of the sheet for duplex printing.

I retried the print job, and it seemed to work.

In general the settings changed in the folder printers 'stick', changed settings in an application apply only to the local instance of the application.  For example Windows 7: click Start, devices and printers, right click on the Officejet 6600, printer properties, select what you want to the default settings, apply, OK.

Attempt to try to solve my HP Officejet 6600 to print wirelessly on my network and I tried just about everything I could think of (including the rattling of my printer on the network to see if they are on the same network, they are) and my printer still does not recognize any signal from my computer trying to get a print of my computer job. I have already confirmed that my printer working via a USB cable, but I wish I could put my printer to another room, connected to a power source and be able to print to it outside of my network, but not luck so far. Can someone help with this problem?

My OS is Windows 7 Edition Home Premium SP1, if this is useful.

    Review of my last post...

Wow, regardless of the Printer Spooler service has been, which seems to have done the trick. Also went and made a new WiFi printer (when the USB cable is installed), and it was labeled differently. Somewhere in one of the configuration menus had something on this subject (assuming it's a hostname?) It said HPB96E1W (HP Officejet 6600). It was also the name of the printer that appeared when I installed it as wireless under printers and faxes. When I did as just a USB connected printer, it appears just as "HP Officejet 6600". Maybe a problem of labelling or something to do with the Printer Spooler service? No idea honestly but the printer works now move it to another part of the House as long as it captures my wireless signal. This problem is completely resolved, and I have also 2 different connections to work with incase I ever spend my printer back near my computer. Thanks to all who have posted in this thread with ideas help, much appreciated. Moderators or anyone who may lock this thread if they wish. I'll post another thread one day if I have problems with the printer again.

This happens if I try to print, copy, scan, etc..
    Help please.

    Hello @alexm,

I would like to help you today with "server busy" error that you get when you try to print or scan to your HP Officejet 6600 e-all-in-one printer. However, in order for me to provide specific troubleshooting steps I have a few questions for you.

    1. what operating system are you using on your computer?

    What is my OS?

    2. is your printer connected via USB cable or network?

In the meantime, if you are using a computer Windows can I run printing HP and doctor Scan? This tool will run on your computer and "fix print" or "scan fix" questions for you. The Print and the doctor analysis tool will scan your computer for different connection, driver or software conflicts and try to resolve these conflicts for you.

Please let me know if this tool solves your problem. Also be sure to reply to this post with your operating system and the type of connection, so I can provide additional troubleshooting steps. Good luck!

    Hey @cerilka,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I understand the printer e-all-in-one HP Officejet 6600 running loudly. I want to help you with this.

Before oiling of the printer, there are a few more conventional measures that you can take to correct the situation. I recommend you try the following:

Clean the rollers in your printer.
  • wireless connection netgerar DG834G and hp officejet 6700

Hello, I work on a MAcbook Air, and I tried to connect the portable printer hp officejet 6700 with netgerar DG834G wireless, but without success. I try to manually add the printer without result. The config. the hp printer report says that everything is ok, but the computer is not able to find it. Before I was using an air connection and all connections were ok. The unrest started when I tried to connect the printer to the router without air inlet. I followed the procedure, but the computer says that it is not possible to find the hollow wireless printer (works with usb). It seems that the problem is between the router and the hp printer.

I followed the suggestions posted and I changed the channel (6) and the IP static address. The works of the printer until it enters mode works with this change. How can I put it to sleep? The only option I have is to swich between 5minuts or 10 or 15.

I do not know if what I have done is ok

Could you help me, please? Ester

Hello @ester61 , welcome to the community!

I suggest to try the steps in the guide I found and selected for you below. I hope that the steps will allow the printer, computer and network communicate in total.

An error "Printer not found" for the series of printer e-all-in-one-HP Officejet 6600 Premium e-All-in-One and 6700

If the problem persists, check your router settings:

The network name and password to have no space or punctuation.
If you are using WPA2 security, WPA Personal mode.
Double b/g/n wireless streaming (printer can connect only to g).
    MAC filtering should be disabled.
Firewall settings must be in there by default, settings or the value of lower security.
    Multicast 'on '.
There are the following ports not blocked:
    The incoming (UDP) ports: 137, 138, 161, 427
    Outgoing (TCP) ports: 137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500

Let me know the results and also what OS/MAC OS X that you run.

  • OfficeJet 6600 - reports HP Connect "problem with the printer.

I just bought an all-in-one OfficeJet 6600 and immediately installed on my MacBook Pro. Installation went smoothly, and I used it for scanning and printing. I am very happy. However, I noticed that HP Connect reports "Issue with printer." Well, it worked fine, so I ignored the error and continued to work.

Tonight, I have installed the printer on a Windows 7 laptop. At HP Connect, it is always now reports "Problem with printer." That's it - no further details and no symptoms of any kind of problem. How to diagnose the 'problem' and how to fix it?

Hi there, I know this may seem illogical, but I wouldn't worry too much about the problem with the printer State message in connected HP. I saw myself sometimes, and I was able to print successfully from a mobile device to the printer which connected HP indicated that there is a problem. Have you tried to send a job by using either the application mobile ePrint or to the e-mail address of printers for the printer in question?

On the Windows 7 machine, you can also download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor to confirm there is no problem with the connection to the computer on which is installed the software of the printer or the printer hardware. Be aware, however, that the application is compatible with the Windows operating system only, so you cannot run it on the Mac computer, but unless you are having problems printing from Mac to the printer, there is no reason to suspect that anything is wrong.

Hope that makes sense, but post comes back with other questions.

    Best.

You must configure your firewall correctly.

What exactly is the error message?  Make sure that it does not ask your network SSID password?

  • OfficeJet 6600 connects to the wifi network

    Hello

I bought an Officejet 6600 and effortlessly connected to my wifi network, print and scan for a day. And there are two days that he stopped conntecting to the wifi network. In the meantime, our router turned off and turned back on. That's the only difference.

First of all, the printer would not even detect the wifi network. I solved that by changing the configuration of the router (Cisco 3925 EPC) and passed under the Setup wireless "Wi - Fi protected setup" to "manual". I can now see the network on the printer again.

But after that I've selected my wifi network and enter the WPA password, the printer tells me that the network connection is impossible. I printed a page of diagnosis, which told me that the problem is perhaps related to the MAC filter. But I have no MAC filters. I also tried to pass of WPA/WPA2 to WPA only, but that doesn't change anything.

I also tried to set the mode wireless via the USB cable, but no avail. Everything seems to work, until the moment when he tries to connect to the wifi (screen with 'configuration' with the large antenna and pulses of radio waves).

Should I give up and bring it to the store? I'm getting desperate!

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Raphaël

OK, to make sure I understand - the printer connects effectively to your wireless network, and well it works for a while once the printer goes to sleep, your computer or router may not wake.

If this is the case there are a few things that we can try:

    1. in the settings of your router, make sure that the multicast is enabled.

    2. set the 2.4 GHz router to 11 channels.  I know it sounds weird, but please try.

    3. set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

  • OfficeJet 6600: iPad suddenly can not find wireless HP printer.

iPad, suddenly cannot find a working HP officejet wireless printer!  He worked recently.

    Hey @dburbage,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.  I understand that you are unable to print from the iPad using your HP Officejet 6600 e-all-in-one printer.  I want to help you with this and can have steps that you need to restore this functionality.  What you describe, it seems that you use AirPrint.  I will answer my advice for this type of installation, but if you use ePrint, please let me know and I'll give the information you need.

You have confirmed that your printer is connected to your wireless network?  Button on the front panel of the printer the wireless icon and make sure that it is connected and displays an IP address.  If this isn't the case, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to restore connectivity.  If you are connected, powercycle your equipment as explained below:

    1. Unplug your modem/router
    2. Turn off your printer and your iPad
    3. Wait 60 seconds
    4. Plug in your modem/router back in and wait that he reconnect to internet
    5. Turn on your printer and once it starts up as normal, confirm that it is still connected to your wireless network
    6. Turn on your iPad

After completing these steps, you are able to connect your printer with the iPad?  Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.

    Have a great day!

  • OfficeJet 6600: Failure of printer, no error code

Down printer, no code error.  Tried troubleshooting tips; Reset no has not worked and cleaning of copper on the ink cartridges, not working anymore.   Printer 3 years so out of warranty.   This printer is in a holiday home and I remove the cartridges in the winter.  Is this a problem?  Is there anything else to try, or do I need a new printer?  Tried to submit the form to contact HP 3 times for nothing helped... the site could use improvement.

Remove the cartridges to store the printer for the winter is a major problem - which cause the printhead not replaceable to dry out, leaving probably clogged ink residues.  In the future if you have a printer with separate ink supply and print (like the Officejet 6600) heads the cartrdiges never be removed from the printer for more than thirty minutes at a time, and the printer should never be put off with the cartridges removed.

The following may help recover the printhead (maybe 10% chance).  Turn on the printer, remove the cartrdiges impression and drip hot water on the screens on the print head which would connect the ink cartridges.  I put about 3 to 5 drops in each screen.  Let it sit for a few minutes, then replace the ink cartridges.  Run three cleaning cycles in quick succession the façade or the Toolbox.  Is there an ink at all on the page?  If yes let the printer sit overnight, then repeat the process.

I am facing a strange behaviour of my camera. I tried to find similar problems on the forum, but did not succeed.
