  I saw your post on the fax concern you have. First of all, I suggest you to check on the Page. 48 of the User Guide , which is to monitor dial to see if this information will help you. As long as you enter the numbers fast enough, the fax needs to work with the numbering screen, otherwise, you will need to use the phone to enter all the guests under send a fax manually from a phone.

  My Officejet 6500 has more (model CN557A) is connected through the USB port.  My operating system is XP.    I can scan my computer, I can copy and print from the printer control panel, but I can't send anything to print from my computer.  This problem just started about 3 days ago.  I tried troubleshooting but I have not received the case.  I did not add new programs, and I have 194 GB free on my hard drive.

  N ° however, I accidentally discovered the problem.  I had a card reader connected to my computer to download pictures.  Apparently it disrupted the cycle of printing for my printer.  I removed the card reader and the printer works fine now.  Thank you for your response.

  After everything I lived, I finally solved the problem.  Although the ink levels showed ink cartridges, I put a new black in one and it works!

  I need help. my HP Officejet 6500 has more out of print colors.  I changed the printhead twice ($86,00), with new inks, hp 920, (all colors and black) twice ($120,00) has contacted HP tech support and they told me it's a hardware problem and it is irreparable! Prints fine in black ink only.  copy, scan and fax work well. The test to align the printhead fails.  I am running windows XP, sp3 with all drivers up to date. HP makes no more of this model, I really like the way he worked.  Nice picture Wi - Fi and print present works well (black ink only).   Would like to keep this printer and not lose my current investment of ink cartridges (HP920). The current model uses different inks (of fat) can someone help me.  Thank you.

  Sorry, I should have mentioned that if you call HP technical support, you can inquire about trade and trade program.  You can always get a new printer if you have decided to go this way.

  Has taken over the crappy HP. Picked up a Canon PIXMA MX882 instead. Impeccable installation, in 10 min I'm printing, scanning, fax wireless with not a single question.

  I am VERY disappointed with HP and its incompatibility with Win7 x 64 drivers. Don't advertise your crap software is compatible, when it is not! I lost hours of my personal time, trying to get HP to work then most of time taking the piece of crap back (I really like the hardware of the printer - software "guys really?"). I will never buy another HP printer. And on the Canon Wireless Setup was easier. A button called easy set up on top of the printer and BAM done. * beep * HP, * beep * indeed.
