In the address bar eenter, IP address of the printer and click GO or press ENTER. If the XP computer and the printer are connected to the same network, the printer page opens.

  If the printer pages opens, please close the browser and click on start and click on printers and faxes or click on the control panel and click on printers and faxes. In the fax and printers, window, please right click on the printer icon and click Cancel all documents. Right-click on the printer icon, and then click Properties. In the Properties window, please click the ports tab and click Add port and select Stanard TCP/IP port and click New Port. This will launch the TCP/IP Wizard, click Next and in the printer name or IP address, enter the IP address of the printer and click Next and follow the on-screen instructions and click Finish. Click on apply, and then click OK in the printer properties window. Then try to print and check.

  I'm sorry I miss read what you said in the first post. You can certainly get the full driver package. I'll link below. Because it looks like you have the installed base driver right now, all you have to do is download and run the installation. Rather than install everything, it should ask you what you want to install. Install the digital imaging monitor, OCR by IRIS and Solution Center. Solution Center will be the Toolbox, and the other two will expand your scanning options. If something is not going to try to install software, uninstall the printer from the computer and try again. Let me know what happens.

  You can restore the default printer.

  Theres no hard drive on the PC but if you don't save any number of fax on this subject, you may want to delete that.

  Usually, we cut the strip of coding, break the glass of the scanner and cut other visible wires before disposing of it so that the printer is "beyond economic repair" for anyone who can pick it up.

  As you both are probably off warranty, based on the information provided, then we have a few options at this point.

  (1) we can try the workaround provided by Bob_Headrick in this thread.

  (2) you can buy a new printhead for the HP parts store using the product number CN643a.  Currently, it sells for about US $ $70.

  (3) you may look into buying a new printer.  Be sure to call the HP Technical Support on the upgrade program where you can buy a reconditioned model printer newest, with guaranteed full factory, at a reduced rate.

  I have a wired network printer HP Officejet 6500 E710a-f. The printer is installed and runs on a network at another location. He has worked on Linux and Windows machines. I have moved and have tried to connect with two different routers. No router "see" the printer. The Panel Network icon is not lit. I can't put a static printer IP address as he always comes back to "automatic" and it sees "no link". Needless to say that the printer is not detected with the HP software (I used Linux and Windows 7 Pro). I can set it up as local USB printer and it seems to work fine. I rechecked the cables are good with other devices and routers 'see' other devices.

  Have you tried another Ethernet cable? is the cable may be defective.

  Other than that if happent it even with two different routers there may also be a failure of the printer Ethernet card...

  My old router crashed so I replaced it with a new Linksys E2500 (Cisco) Advanced Dual-Band N Router.  I used to use a wired connection to my router to the printer, but it would not connect with the new router.  So I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled as wireless.  The router and the printer, use the same IP address.  I can see the printer & when I go to print anything, it's in the list of printers.  But after clicking OK in the print page, nothing happens & when I check the State printer through the Panel of order status says "error"?

  Thanks for the reply!  I finally got to work.  I'm not sure of what really was the problem, but I ended up uninstalling twice and then put it back and he finally found.

  I think 'never '.  For printing, you can use the Officejet R45 driver as an alternative.  Go to start devices and printers, add a printer, select the correct port, OK, and then click Windows Update and wait for the list to repopulate.  Once again fills the list select the manufacturer HP (not HP) and select the HP Officejet R45 from the list.

  Thanks Gemini02 for your suggestion, but I already did all that and it made no difference.   However, I have now solved the problem myself.   After a lot of research, I discovered there is a print setting allowing the DISCOUNT A4 to adapt to the size of the letter and it was active.   To turn off, in an open document, click file, then Options, and then click Advanced Options, then scroll to the bottom to halfway and uncheck the box on "scale content for A4 or 8.5 x 11 paper size".
